Sweetest Venom (book 2) is the conclusion to Blaire’s story. Finding herself torn between two men is forcing her to confront the demons of her past, vices of her present and wishes for her future. Much of story is a slow build of indecision and back and forths, but the sum total is a journey of self-reflection and growth.

There is no way for me to review, rate plot nor ending without giving away Blaire’s choice. So instead let me review the MC’s that makes this a stand-out, hot-topic, controversial and unforgettable read.



Though this story has two irresistible alphas it is Blaire White who drives the story. Blessed or cursed with unparalleled beauty she is the perfect mixture of broken girl, self-saboteur, reckless wild-child, jaded vixen and unattainable temptress. She can’t be controlled, reasoned with nor rescued.



It’s one thing to catch the attention of larger-than-life, jaded, richer-than-Croesus, too-handsome-for-his-own-good heir to a media empire, Lawrence Rothschild, Laurie. To keep it, another story. Yet Blaire managed both and more. Book 2 will show his vulnerabilities and his impulsive and unguarded side.

What works in Lawrence Rothschild, Laurie’s favor is his directness, their similar wants and needs and the fact that he will give her anything money can buy… His combination of uncanny good looks, kinky, devious lover and with his enigmatic, elusive; intense, in-control; ruthless and unyielding personality makes him unforgettable.



What works in Ronan Gerghty’s favor is his that he does not hold back on his feelings and he is set on loving her. Add to that him honing his alpha side and zeroing in on what he wants out of life. After the shocking finale of 'Easy Virtue', I could not wait to pick up 'Sweetest Venom' and see how things would play out for Blaire. Mia Asher did not disappoint! This book was emotional, moving and absolutely addictive.

This time around, we get to see more of Blaire's softer side. She's forced to come to terms with the decisions that she's made and the consequences of her actions. It was brutally painful, but necessary. Accordingly, this book had a different feel to it than the first book.

Even knowing that Blaire brought every bit of her pain on herself, I couldn't help but feel compassion for her. My heart broke right alongside hers as I wondered if Blaire would ever find happiness. I wanted it for her so badly, even knowing that all of her suffering was self-inflicted.

Spanning years, this book shows Blaire finally taking ownership of her actions. At last, she chooses to make her own way and for the first time earns an honest living. She gains self-respect and gradually comes to see the pain that she inflicted so heartlessly.

Eventually, Blaire does find the peace and happiness that evaded her for years. Getting there didn't come easily or quickly, but was well worth it in the end. I was glad. As much as she deserved much of the heartache that she endured, I always wanted Blaire to get a HEA. Blessedly, Ms. Asher delivered.

Like the first book, this follow-up was compelling and had my complete attention. I could not quit listening until I made it to the very end. It was painful and heartfelt, but also beautiful and redeeming. I loved it!

Before I review this book, let me just take a minute and tell you about my love for Mia Asher. She is one of those authors that I completely adore and will read anything they write. When I read Arsen a few years ago, I was hooked. Her words are always beautifully and brilliantly written. I love that so many love this book. There were parts I did love, but overall it just didn’t work for me.



I loved Easy Virtue. It was one of my favorite books of 2015 and I rated it 5+ stars. It pains me that I don’t feel the same about this book. I struggled with the direction that some of these characters took and was left heartbroken. I’m okay with my guy not getting the girl IF I feel that the other guy is worthy of her. At the beginning of the book, I wasn’t sure if Blaire was worthy of either of these men. By the end, I think only one was worthy of her and they didn’t end up together. I’m not being ‘that reader’ who isn’t giving the book a 5 because my guy didn’t win. BUT I feel the person who got the girl should be worthy of her. And in my opinion, he wasn’t.

The best part about this book- the writing AND the growth of Blaire. I loved how Mia made me love Blaire and I got to see a new side of her. Her journey was great to watch. It felt completely genuine and I wasn’t sure it was possible to make me like her this much, but I did. My biggest issue was

If you read and loved Easy Virtue like me, I recommend you give this one a shot. I’m in the minority of not loving it. I REALLY hope Mia decides to give us a book about my man- he deserves a HEA more than anyone!!!! <3

This story! Nothing can prepare you for the shape of SWEETEST VENOM, the follow up and conclusion to EASY VIRTUE. It's a two book series that showcases the most exquisite LOVE triangle with depth, development and heartache.



I felt so many emotions, navigated through thoughts and feelings. It explores acceptance, hope and LOVE wrapped up in an eloquent prose with complex emotion and delectable eroticism, all of which, at certain pivotal moments, are charged with incredible intensity and evoked deep feelings in my reading heart. I smiled, I laughed, I swooned, I SOBBED, I was torn this way and that, my heart bled and healed and then hurt some more, all in the most wonderful, satisfying manner making this a very special reading experience, one of pure perfection.



The first person narrative toggles, in no particular order, between the three protagonists giving the reader an all round view of the inner thoughts of Ronan, Blaire and Lawrence ensuring that our sensibilities empathize with each of them. Ronan: the sexy, wears-his-heart-on-his-sleeve photographer, Blaire with all her vulnerabilities and Lawrence the charming billionaire. All three, for different reasons, worked their way into my book heart and engaged my love.



The Prologue is delicately dramatic, chill inducing and fiercely reinstated my thoughts for the characters, reminding me of the happenings from Virtue #1. As the story arc unfolds and the characters develop, the reader experiences the consequences of Blaire's actions and decisions from the first book. The tone and pace is perfectly set and tore through my emotions as the sublime angst and complexities of the narrative took a hold of my senses and made me FEEL so much. I thought I knew the way the story arc would go but the reality of the unravelling was so much more. Mia Asher does not follow all the usual rules of a romance writer. Her characters do things we don’t like, act in ways we wish they wouldn’t. She takes risks and shreds emotion whilst filling her writing canvas with beautiful imagery, complex characters, angstful emotion and gorgeous erotic loveliness. This explosive combination is what makes her stories so special and resonate so clearly.



Blaire is a little girl lost, lonely, a product of her upbringing she owns her sexuality, makes no apologies for the way she uses her attributes. Ronan or Lawrence.... Lawrence or Ronan....? Two men, very different but equally sexy, attractive and charismatic, and both beautiful in their own, individual way. The character transitions are crucial to the story arc and Mia Asher balances her craft to perfection. I totally believed in all the actions, thoughts and feelings of each protagonist and their reasons why, and that's testament to their depicted motivation.



The supporting cast of characters enhance the development and feel of the story, as each layer is peeled away taking us further towards the climax of Blaire’s story. Elly is a particular stand out for me as Blaire’s best friend, a relationship that allows Blaire’s personality to flourish within the narrative.



Penned as a love triangle, the Virtue series will undoubtedly be a hard limit for some readers but for those who embrace the complexities of this theme by following the flow of feelings and decisions and appreciate quality writing that evokes the strongest of BOOK FEELS, then this series is an incredible reading treat and truly not to be missed. The story is crafted in such a way that I could not help but root for all three characters ensuring my feels were attacked in the best possible way. Sweetest Venom is pure perfection and rocked my reading world. Lovers of angstful reads who enjoy the intensity of emotion that a love triangle evokes will not want to miss this awe inspiring, all consuming PASSIONATE, INTENSE and very, VERY SEXY story. #TeamBlaire.

My God. I don't even know where to start... First of all I wanna thank to Mia Asher. You're one of my favorite authors now. Your words like a poem.. They caressed my body from head to toe.. I felt every single emotion and my soul devour all of them... I will never, ever forget Blaire & Ronan & Lawrence.. Never...

“There’s no room for logic when the heart is involved. To love is to lose all sense of reason.” He stares straight ahead, his mind far away. “Before you came into my life, I thought that I couldn’t love again, that my life was as good as it was going to get. But you made me want more. Need more.”

This story, this book made me so hot, wet, happy, angry, sad, broken, hopeful etc. I felt every emotion with the characters. I won't tell you how the story end. If you wanna know pls check my spoiler but all I wanna say I felt so sorry for all them. Blaire, Ronan, Lawrence... And I cried for them. Even now when I think last chapter of the book and the epilogue my eyes goes blurry... It was so damn beautiful!

Pls make yourself a favor and read this beautiful & broken love story.. Trust me you won't regret this... ;)

The story picks straight up from where book one ended......

Ronan

Fell hopelessly in love with Blaire and was left devastated when she pushed him away.He's not one for material possessions or wealth but he finds himself caught up in a world that's alien to him in this book.

Blaire

The ultimate Gold Digger,the last thing she wants is to get too close to someone.She uses her body and beauty to obtain what she thinks she wants but along the way comes to realize that deep down that's not really her.

Lawrence

Highly successful and in complete control of his life until he meets Blaire.He starts of only wanting her for sex but along the way a line is crossed and he becomes lost in his feelings for her.



In book one I was definitely team Ronan but in this one Lawrence stole my heart.
It's impossible to go into what happens without giving anything away and right up until the end I really had no idea how it would end.
Was I happy with the conclusion? I think so but I wanted more for one particular character.......

This book made my heart explode...

Blaire is consumed with trying to make a decision that will affect the rest of her life. She has two men who want her, desire her, love her. With one guy, she feels the magical connection that most of us want to feel and that a few of us have felt in a very real way. The other guy is completely different. He’s tight, bossy, he can give her a wealthy life and he makes her feel safe. Both men have genuine interest in her. Both men own a big part of her heart. But Blaire has to find the courage to be enough honest with herself! She has two choices of really wonderful men. She soon realizes that she can’t keep trying to sit on a fence between them.

I am a fan of love triangles. I love it when characters need to make choices. And really good love triangles are not just about a romantic plight, they signify something deeper. I fell in love with Ronan in the first book and was a bit unsettled with the ending. In the second book, Lawrence appears to have won Blaire and Ronan can’t do anything else but respect her choices. Both Ronan and Lawrence are a viable choice for Blaire but each of them owns different parts of her. And it’s been clear from the beginning that Blaire has to make a choice of who she wants to be, and that will give her the answer she needs. She has to scratch the surface of knowing who she really is in order to find lasting happiness.

Ronan held me on a pedestal. He saw in me the person he desired me to be-someone worthy of him. And I was too afraid to shatter that illusion.

Lawrence, on the other hand, holds no illusions of me. He knows me for who I am, and it's freeing. So freeing.

This story effectively captures the temptations, doubts, inner turmoil and romantic tension on all three characters. It’s a stunning and heartbreaking novel that is bound to tick you off and tear you up all while turning you on! It’s emotional, and tons and tons of angst! This one is a true standout in my eyes. I didn’t want it to end!

My heart simply went out to the characters. Felt their love, guilt, passion, lust, anguish, agony. From its dramatic start right through to the end I could not put this down. This is one of those stories that sticks with you long after you read it. I absolutely insist that you read this book, you will not be disappointed.

When I read Easy Virtue in 2014, I was taken by the writing of Mia Asher. She took an idea; wrapped it with emotions, details, and passion...causing me to lose my mind with its ending. I wanted more and right away.

I was not alone in this mindset. Reader after reader sang the praises and cursed the cliffy. I left a love note in the space where the next book was supposed to be telling Ms. Asher of my desire and need for her to write quickly. I watched and pined for the book. These characters were powerful and held me captive.

I even understood when I found out Ms. Asher was scrapping what she had of the second book because it didn't feel right...like she had lost her way. I noted in my placeholder of how it takes real fortitude to do that and bravo for her strength and beliefs in making sure she got this book right.

I was fortunate to read this and although there were things which I wasn't enamored about... the writing, skill, and storytelling are consistent for the author. The quality is high and draws you in.

I have Some Thoughts


Authors need to be true to their hearts. I commend Ms. Asher in her sticking to HER vision and crafting this intense love triangle and set of books. Love is not always hearts and flowers with pretty, cute meets and no real drama. It can rip your heart out of your chest and make you bleed salty tears. We have all been there...This story had it all and if you love to have the angst served front and center, dive in.

Feb. 2016- So have you ever been looking at your update feed and see another friend read a book you adored for the first time and wondered... where is my second book...Did I miss something, a quote, a telling when it is coming....
You rush to the 1st book's page and then look next to the author's name to see the list of installments of the series...click and still see no date of the possible publishing...

Well, you probably know from Mia Asher's Facebook note in 2015 to her followers, she was starting from scratch to make sure Sweetest Venom was going to be the right story to tell. It takes a tremendous amount of courage to scrap something and start over... knowing it won't be a walk in the park or an easy fix. Sometimes in life... we just have to look at things from another viewpoint to see clearly... and bravo to her for realizing it.

I am a bit behind on this update as I am not of FB... so if I don't search out these nuggets, I may not know. I have all the faith in the talent of Ms. Asher and will look for her updates when they come.

I have seriously been waiting what seems like ever for this book and I have spent so much time speculating. I mean am I, Team Law or Team Ronan or just Team Blaire? Well ladies, the wait is over, it doesn’t matter what Team you are because Mia has delivered the verdict.

The story picks up where Easy Virtue left off, I think, to the best of my recollection. I was seriously concerned I wouldn’t remember all the important facts, but it all came back to me. Within minutes I was immersed in Blaire’s world. A world where her motives and actions are driven by money and the desire for security verses love.



From the beginning I have understood Blaire, do I agree with her actions, no. However, I can certainly understand her position and that in itself shows how well Mia wrote these characters. Throughout this story I struggled with Blaire, but I also struggled with my own feelings. I mean you have these two perfect men who can offer her two different things: security or passion, money or love.

My struggle really came in this story, because Mia leveled the playing field a little bit and believe me the struggle was real. She took the man I thought was all about love and made me dislike him at times. The man I thought could only offer her security and material possessions, because he was so closed off, well he opened up.

I did enjoy how the story was concluded and how everything fit together. I liked that Blaire truly grew from the vengeful, scared woman she was before. My biggest issue is I wish there was more because in the end, I am not so sure of her connection. We waited so long for this story and I wanted more time with Blaire and her guy. I wanted more of a conclusion. I loved the ending, the last line is one of my favorites, but an extended epilogue would have made this reader so happy.



So all of my fellow readers who have been anxiously awaiting this conclusion, I think you will be pleased. I think it’s worth finding seeing Blaire’s HEA. Seeing if your Team won. I just wish after this long wait I felt more satisfied.

Sweetest Venom is the conclusion to the Virtue series. It's a captivating and addictive story that keep my interest until the end! It's fast paced, emotional, angsty and intense. I'm not saying this often about authors, but I need to say that I admire Mia Asher for the amazing job she is doing as an author! I’ve admired her from the first moment and I’ve enjoyed following her work. Her books are unique and her words beautiful!

When I started this book I was anxious to see who Blaire will choose! Because I liked Ronan and Lawrence, and I wasn’t sure who would be a better fit for her. The plot was brilliant and I was very emotional while I was reading. I can't say anything else because I don't want to give away anything!! It's one of those stories that you need to read to understand it! The only thing I'm going to say is that I liked the ending and it was perfect!

I'm not sure how I feel about some aspects of the story and this is why it wasn't a 5 star read for me. But I understand that it was needed…So while I loved the ending, the journey there was difficult for me at times.
Overall it was an amazing series!! I hope everyone enjoys it and finds the ending they want! I can’t wait for more from Mia!

I'm going to make this as SPOILER FREE as possible here.. I'm not going to tell you too much about the plot and the story but I am going to explain some of my thoughts and emotions...

Guys I stayed up till 5.15am reading this into the wee hours of the night.. Now you see with me I get sucked into social media at times and I'm a slow reader. I like to read words and understand it all bit by bit... So to stay up and read page after page, chapter after chapter, unable to put the book down. No breather NOTHINGthat means that this is an EPIC read!! #EpicLove #EpicLife #SelfDiscovery

What I wanted at the end of Easy Virtue??
I'll tell you how I felt at the end of EV and how I've been thinking in the up coming weeks to this, how I've been mulling over my thoughts.

I am 120% #TeamBlaire there was no sides into who I wanted Blaire to be with although as I read I found myself being pulled in one direction. But I wanted Blaire to feel that she deserved to be happy, that she was aloud to fall in love. That it's ok to FEEL. That she can live, smile, be happy and enjoy what she's been given and allow life to pull her in.. I wanted HER to be successful and above all to FALL IN LOVE and NOT LET GO..

The question is did that happen? >/i>

MY THOUGHTS.
This is a book about LOVE self worth, and discovery... But more so about survival. Blaire has not been given a good hand on how she was brought up, so honestly she didn't believe in herself or LOVE. I suppose this book was EXPLOSIVE it was a plethora of emotions, elation, happiness, pain and Sensual Sex, raw sex, dominating sex. I was gripping my kindle hand in my mouth, hand on my hair, throughout. I loved ALL characters involved for different reasons. I loved going back to some memories that Mia enlightened us with, and then feel the rawness of what was happening now.

Above all this was an exquisite, delicious read. I was craving happiness. I LOVED the Sensuality of the book and how it flowed for me. And I just ADORED the characters... I will say too, hand on heart Mia's a genius when it comes to writing, she may have taken her time writing this one and people maybe annoyed that it's taken so long to come out. But honestly this was worth the wait for me. I kind of forgot why I love her so much.. Her words, her meanings, her quotes. Goodness I have sooo many quotes highlighted that will stay with me for a while to come FOREVER. GAH I LOVE HER HARD.

If you write a story about a heroine who has never been shown any kind of love I expect the hero to be the one to show it to her. I need all of her reservations and stereotypes of what happens when people fall in love to be proven false by the hero. Unfortunately, it's a little too difficult to do that when we have to read about him having a connection with someone else. Not only that, we have to keep reading over and over and over again about how much he loves fucking this someone else.

This wasn't a romance to me at all. It was just angst for the sake of angst. I would have loved it if she had ended up with the underdog in the story.

I know some people are going to think it's ridiculous to make these complaints when there were scenes like this between Blaire and someone else. However, I don't care. I'm just more forgiving of a heroine in romance. I wanted the person she ended up with to prove her wrong and not end up giving up on her so quickly. I wanted him to fight for her or at least not have a connection with OW. It just makes it hard to believe in his love when I'm too busy having to read about him fucking the shit out of someone else. Oh and not to mention when the OW asks him if he's still in love with Blaire he says no and the proceeds to have sex with the OW...again.This is at 60+% into the book.

Let's also not forget how he verbally abuses her throughout the book and treats her like trash. I didn't feel as though the punishment fit the crime. He was much too cruel and it lasted so long in the book that there was no development in their relationship once they finally got together.


Waited months for this book to be released. What a waste

Honestly, I think no review I'll ever write will do this duet justice so I'll just give you a quick summary of my thoughts ...

1. To say I love Blaire's character development/growth in this story would be an understatement! Girl did really good!

2. Kudos to Mia for writing a heroine who is comfortable with her sexuality and isn't afraid to use it. Not very often you get authors who dare to 'go there' and Mia certainly did and I would like to applaud her for that!

3. After everything Blaire had been through, she was in desperate need of her own HEA and she certainly got that in the end. Whether or not it matched my own version of it doesn't matter because, at the end of the day, this isn't MY story.

4. This is a LOVE TRIANGLE so SOMEONE always gets hurt in the end. If you can't deal, AVOID this book. Seriously. Rating a story low strictly based on your personal dislike of one's action vs quality of author's writing would be a really shitty thing to do.

5. ANY book that sparks HOURS worth of discussion between you and your friends deserves a 5 star rating!


P.S. My dad always said to me 'Half of your life battles have been won already because you were born a woman' and I couldn't agree more! Anyone who considers women a weaker sex should give their head a shake and then read this duet!

This is the second book in the "Virtue" series...

Characters:

This is the story of two lovable heroes (Ronan & Lawrence) and one annoying heroine (Blaire)...

I loved both Ronan and Lawrence, no special preference, really. But I hugely disliked the heroine, Blaire. We read how she self-sabotages her life, ruining the lives of both men who love her.

It is only towards the second half of the second book that she starts to come to her senses, seeing that sabotaging her own life and refusing to love just because of a shitty childhood is nothing but stupidity (– as if we all had wonderful childhoods with both loving mothers and fathers, huh, not many of us are that lucky, this is life and shit happens!)

The series are told by these 3 characters' point of views.

When you read Ronan’s chapters, you feel and ache for him, and when you read Lawrence’s chapters, you feel and ache for him. I had love and sympathy for both men.

I just never ached for Blaire while I was reading her chapters. She was too stupid for her own good. I hardly ever felt any love or sympathy for her. I just got annoyed by how she disgraced herself. I had difficulty in understanding the logic of Blaire in her actions.

I also had difficulty in understanding her reactions and feelings towards both men. Whoever touches her, be it Ronan or Lawrence, the reactions are pure ecstasy, one a little bit deeper and stronger than the other...

Phew ! At one point, the books felt all about sex.

What a frustrating heroine!

I had difficulty in understanding what these men found in Blaire’s selfish self...

She was only a beautiful face and body with a f*cked up character, choosing to getting laid by men who pay her rent or buy her gifts or even directly give her money.

That was the life she chose because she was afraid of loving and then losing it, all because of a bad childhood!

Oh, come on... Did we all have wonderful childhoods, do you think? Is selling yourself the payback or the solution to it?!!!

When it is really too late, she regrets and feels unhappy... And I feel nothing for her, sorry :(

Very annoying plot twist and drama towards the end

There are some turns and twists in the second book and the last drama happens because of Ronan’s sister Jackie.

What an ending! I wonder who has written it!

And the last of all, I think the writer got sick, or her computer got broken down, or she lost her mind/senses/skill or whatever and I think someone else had to write the ending to the book.

Maybe, the ending was the school project of a primary school student?

Whatever it was, it just was the worst and by worst, I mean the most poorly written, ending & epilogue ever...

I LOVED IT!!!!

I had no idea what to expect when I started this book.
Of course I kept hoping that she would choose Ronan - but then I felt sorry for Lawrence again. I secretly kept hoping that it was some kind of psycho story, where Ronan and Lawrence were both the same person - like Clark Kent and Superman. ☺☺☺
But nope... There are two real guys Blaire has to choose between.
Both loving and hating her and both hurting because of knowing her... poor Blaire.

Time to put on her big-girl-panties and get her life back in order....

I really loved this book - I kinda expected a tiny bit more. Maybe a hundred more pages - it felt a bit rushed in the end...I'm always a huge fan of eplilogues and we don't really have one here..... But I still loved it.

SWEETEST VENOM was the perfect conclusion to this amanzingly beautiful 2-book-series! Sexy, sad, and waaaay too short ☺

(Ok - not that you think it's some kind of novella - it's a full-length book - I just wanted more!!! ☺)

Wow. I pretty much devoured this two-part series in 48 hours. I'm so thankful I put off reading Easy Virtue till Sweetest Venom was out. I think my heart is permanently damaged though. It was pounding into overdrive for most of this book!


Sweetest Venom picks up right on the heels of Easy Virtue. Let's face it, Blaire has probably more psychological baggage than any heroine I've read in a very very long time. I'm going to stick my neck out there and say I was never on #TeamBlaire. In fact, three words describe Blaire- fear, self-sabotage.

Blaire was a certifiable train wreck and I felt for any man that got anywhere within her clutches. #SorryNotSorry. I know this sounds heartless but there comes a time in life you can't use your childhood as a crutch to hurt innocent people out of fear, selfishness, and cowardice. And that's what I felt 90% of her actions revolved around. That being said, this series had two very perfect men tripping over themselves for her. Da fuq? Anywho, to each their own- and it further proves men think from their penises first.


Her kisses were deceit that tasted like the sweetest venom, her laugh a lure to my demise, and her body the damn devil’s playground.


Ronan- we get a different taste of the sweet, romantic, simpleton guy we met in Easy Virtue. Ronan is a man filled with rage, hate, and vengeance. He also turned into quite the dominant sexy ladies man, I must add. He lost his heart to Blaire and his walls are high. Will anyone be able to break through or is Blaire it for him?


She once was heaven and now she’s the hell I’m burning in.


Lawrence- I gotta say if I was on a team, it would be #TeamLawrence. Not entirely sure why but he was perfect to me. Wealthy and successful but I felt a certain degree of detachment and loneliness about him. He too fell for the viper that was Blaire in this book and I wanted to rush in and offer my... services shoulder to cry on.

Sweetest Venom was a very atypical romance. Though at its core, we find a love story-(ies), the bulk of the story revolved around Blaire and her deep seated fear of love and attachment. Her misguided need for money to replace happiness and commitment. So instead of giving her heart, she gave her body to wealthy men for gifts and wealth. At what point is it going to take her to finally realize she's worth more- happiness is worth more than clothing and jewelry? And with what man?


I'll commend Mia Asher specifically for taking such a flawed heroine and not making her fixed in a blink of the eye. Her evolution to being her own person was paced well and not done specifically because of the love of the right man. It took a lot of soul searching and revisiting her demons to get there and for that I felt it was very realistic.


I devoured this series. It's sexy erotic, poetically beautiful, and spellbinding in the suspense of "who's she gonna choose?" So whose team are you on?

What a journey.......a grueling, emotional, exhausting, gripping, sexy and loving journey. One that took me hostage and wouldn't let me rest till I finished the journey. Three characters that infiltrated my heart and tore me to shreds. I'm emotionally drain........

The relationships written by Mia Asher are not for the faint of heart. They are emotionally angsty. There are times when you think the tides are turning only to be swept out by the undertow. The storyline keeps you at an heighten level of anxiety. Blaire and Lawrence, Blaire and Ronan.......what will happen, will someone win or will both lose?

Blaire.....a past that emotionally stunts her, a past that pits her between two men. Love or Sex.....She has felt love, and in her heart that she tries to keep hidden, she can't lie to herself.......one man is always present.

Ronan......a man ripped apart by a woman he can't forget. No matter what he does, she is always in his thoughts and dreams. He tries to forget. He is gorgeous and getting lost in other women helps to ease the pain. He has his photography and his time to shine may be sooner than he expected. But Love has made him bitter.

Lawrence......the man that can give a woman everything. A man that is changing and wants everything with Blaire. But is her heart already taken? Can he soften and tell Blaire that he has had a change of heart? The more time he spends with Blaire, the more their connection grows and strengthens.

This journey, while it is a very bumpy ride, is one that has incredible growth of all 3 characters. Life and love can be fearful, hopeful, devastating, cruel and joyous. But with each turn and each hiccup, learning the good and the bad from those experiences are what makes you grow as a person. Blaire's incredible growth is both beautifully painful and awakening. I would safely say that Blaire wouldn't have wanted her journey any other way- she would still take all the good and the bad because in the end, Blaire became the Blaire that she was always meant to be.

I must say that I wished I had a longer epilogue. My level of angst at the end was way over the top. I needed that epilogue and I needed more of it to completely make me whole again. Mia Asher took my emotional sanctity and ripped it wide open for the entire book. So when I say I need more epilogue, I Needed More Epilogue!!! So while I may be a little over dramatic about the epilogue, in the end, Sweetest Venom was exquisitely written, even with a high angst level, it was a Beautifully told story of Love and Awakening.

Thank to my fabulous friend Irene for paying it forward and gifting me this book. The sign of a great book is one that is talked about over and over. Even when you have different ideas than the author, talking about the outcome at nauseous is always a sign of a Fanfreakingtastic Book!!!!

"There's no room for logic when the heart is involved."

For over a year and a half i have been waiting for this book to come out it was the anticipated book of the year for me. Like other authors who i love that puts a book out a every single 6 months for some strange reason their characters never stay in my head as long as mia asher characters do, they literally have a small place in my heart and i honestly feel i will never forget them. And that is what sets mia asher apart from a good author, to a great author, and then there is phenomenal. And she sets that bar bar for me nothing else compares to her writing and that makes her very special. I wish everybody gets to experience this great book, she needs to be more popular among other authors she is just that good. With that being said sweetest venom was amazing i dont want to say to much because any little hint might spoil it for you but just know you will smile you will get angry your heart will freaking fall out of your chest you might cry you will swoon and you will fall in love with all the characters if you haven't already and leave it up to mia to have your heart pumping at 99 percent of the book left. But really its mia asher would you expect any thing else. Now stop reading this review and go and read this damn book . And I cant wait to read more of mia asher i would wait forever to get my hands on her books she just that amazing.

My head hurts

This duet wasn’t for me, I wasn’t a fan of the characters, the story dragged on in this book and I just wanted it to be over. All of the things I liked about one character were gone, I hated how the book ended and I honestly didn’t care if anyone got their happy endings cuz I was just too annoyed. There was so much sex but not a lot of story, it was just so boring and repetitive. The characters were super whiny except one. Backstories of characters were things I couldn’t connect with and when it comes down to it, I just didn’t care. I wanted to see who Blaire ended up with in the end and that was why I wanted to finish. Despite this book being super short, it felt so damn long.


Blaire has lived her life with neglectful parents who don’t care for her and bullies who ruined her life. She is tired, she knows she’s beautiful and she knows what she wants. She wants a luxurious comfortable life and that’s what she decided to focus on, she starts sleeping with older men at the age of 17, and continues on. Once she is 23, she meets someone she connects to on a personal level, but this man is not rich and he’s different from the others that she’s been with. But she also has a man that is similar to the previous men she’s been with but this one has insane chemistry with her. Blaire has to choose which way she wants to live, to continue her life of luxury and comfort by doing what she always does, or stick with the man who might be her soulmate.

3.75 - 4 - This Book will F%ck with your Emotions Stars!!!

Ok, I never, EVER go back and change a rating, but I think just this one time, I need to. This book stayed with me for a solid two weeks after I read it. I discovered the epic soundtrack Mia created for it and then I fell into it all over again, the story, the emotions. And THAT is not possible unless it's a good book! I have worried about the um....guy that did not get the girl and hoped that he is ok...yeah, I've lost it! So, I am revising my rating.

I remember the one other time I ever did this was with Tarryn Fisher and Thief! Do you see the effect angst has on me?!?!? Haha!!

I love this author. She's a gifted writer. She could probably write the phone book and I would find her prose beautiful. She has a way with words that makes anything she writes captivating.

"I hate you for making me love you, and I hate myself because I can't stop."


I also love a good love triangle. One of my top all-time fave books is Collide, by Gail Mc Hugh. Finally, Easy Virtue was one of my top reads last year. I am also not afraid of angst. I love messy, flawed characters who make mistakes. I like books that mirror aspects of real life. And I like being pushed and feeling uncomfortable during a read. So please know that NONE of those things have any bearing on this review. I knew what I was getting myself into. I welcomed it. With all of that being said, I had a hard time with this one.

To me, this book was a lot of angst for the sake of angst. I had to skim a good chunk of it. I am all for what these characters had to go through. I get it. It's real life. I get where their actions came from. I just didn't need the many, many details all way up in my face. To me, THAT is not where the story was. I know that it had to happen, but that's not the part I showed up to read about.

Here is my main problem: The spotlight was on them acting out their pain, revenge, and mistakes. And yes, often times, being very selfish people. NOT on the healing, the love, and the character growth (except for Blaire's). While those things were there (and believe me, when they were there, it was AWESOME), they were the much smaller piece of the pie.

I do have to say, though, I LOVE where she took Blaire's character. Love, love, LOVE!!! And not one single iota of my frustration was directed at her whatsoever. I loved her growth, and I loved who she was by the end of this story. I sympathized with her throughout this whole book.

Please do not open this spoiler tag unless you have read the book. I talk about the ending and give away pretty much everything. You have been warned.

With alllllll of this being said, I still have MASSIVE respect for this author. I love that she didn't publish an earlier version of this book because she didn't feel it was her best. I love that she takes huge risks with her stories. And I love that she doesn't shy away from the controversial romance topics like love triangles. She doesn't tell a "safe" story just because it's guaranteed to sell. She is way the hell NOT a cookie-cutter author and for this, I applaud the hell out of her. I will probably always read anything she releases. <3 (I have Arsen: A Broken Love Story, even though I have never had the balls to read it. I just purchased it as a show of solidarity. Lol!)

Blaire White made her bed but she couldn't lie in it without hurting herself or the people around her. She had to make a choice between what she wanted and what she needed. It didn't come easy when both Lawrence Rothschild and Ronan Geraghty were no longer the same men she used to know.



I love books that put me through an emotional wringer. The angst in this one hurt so good, and it certainly felt like the Sweetest Venom.

Her kisses were deceit that tasted like the sweetest venom, her laugh a lure to my demise, and her body the damn devil’s playground.


What I love the most about this book is how each of the characters evolved. We got to see the side we never met before - for better or worse.



And these changes were painful. Their vulnerabilities and their dark side forced them to hurt each other directly or indirectly. On one hand I would cheer a character for giving the other one what they deserved. On the other hand, I felt sad that it had to come to that point.

“Give me a thousand lives and a thousand eternities, and I would still find you and make you mine. Always.”


In Easy Virtue, Ronan was my favorite. He's still my choice but I couldn't deny that Lawrence managed to fight his way into my heart as well. I was as conflicted as Blaire in making a choice.

Sweetest Venom is a story that will throw you into emotional upheaval following three people learning to grow and recognizing the most important thing that make them happy.

3 venomous STARS?! **minor opinion alert**

I'm very aware of this book will contains triangle love between Ronan-Blaire-Lawrence. I have mixed feeling about this and turns out to be true. Sweetest Venom told from multiple POV; Blaire, Ronan and Lawrence. Unfortunately, some things just didn't work out FOR ME. Don't hate me, eh. Rated S for Spoilers!

1. I wanna slap Blaire so hard. She lose her shit. She didn't like the strong and fierce Blaire used to anymore. After she lose Ronan, Blaire couldn't move on and STILL push herself to be with Lawrence. Apparently it didn't work and she was such a bitch to Lawrence. Losing Ronan really shocked her to the core and she even didn't realize it. I know Ronan is the only one who make her like a special woman in the world (Well, beside Lawrence).

2. Lawrence's POV easily predictable. He was in love with Blaire. He received everything inside and outside her. Lawrence even open himself and his past wasn't shocked me. I just didn't like when the author made their world is small when everyone could meet. If only Blaire accept Lawrence's offer from the start and didn't meet Ronan, they would be a couple. Oops spoiler alert!
Lawrence reminds me of an untamed animal, magnificent as the king of his domain with hunger in his eyes and graceful movements. He’s danger, inviting you to play with him as he taunts you with a tempting smile. And you know that you will be hurt for having done so, but you won’t be sorry—no, never sorry. He looks like a man who was born to rule and fuck.

3. Such a poor soul. Ronan couldn't move on either. After Blaire left him, he fucked women which didn't work. He became an asshole. Ronan was soooo naive and it didn't occur to me how stupid is he. Ronan even couldn't figure his own shit and how does a woman like Blaire would live with him? With love? Puh-lease...

*cough* return to Ronan, he met someone who a bit similar to Blaire who is a divorcee. This woman, Rachel didn't ask for everything except to help him. But what he did? He's a jerk and no shit dude I hate you. The excuse for Ronan that he's in very emotional state like a wrecking ball. I just rolled my eyes, every time. I lose my interest with him. Resentful.

4. SEX is still SEX. Hotter than hell especially with Lawrence. No words but... that man could fuck. However, it's my HARD LIMIT to know what Ronan did to other woman. So... distasteful and immediately I bailed out. I didn't need the details.

5. Disappointed? Of course. Blaire couldn't figure out what she want because she was confused and... bitter? Also Ronan was so dysfunctional with himself and act like a teenager. Grow up man! I think Lawrence is the only reasonable person in here.
“With Ronan, he came into my world and tilted it upside down. I didn’t have a chance against him—he stole my heart. And it didn’t happen like that with Lawrence. No, what I feel for Lawrence doesn’t have a beginning or an end. What started as a distraction turned into something beautiful that can’t be named or explained or measured. Each of them owns different parts of me.”

However, I enjoyed the part when Blaire learn to forgive. She made peace with her past and really moving on. The strange thing happened when a llama came. . Blaire and Ronan's relationship is like a tug-of-war. Love to hate and I lost my interest when they're poison each other (like the title, Lol)

I CAN'T EVEN RIGHT NOW! I'm at a loss for words. All I can say with complete confidence is that Mia Asher is a goddamn genius. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to find some way to nurse this MASSIVE book hangover!

Okay, I'm back! I'm going to try with my best ability to do this book justice with this review, but I will warn you that I've been sitting and thinking about how to go about this for a couple of days now. If you are an emotional reader like me, be warned that this book hangover will be one for the books! Sure, everyone and their mother has been waiting for the follow-up to Easy Virtue for a while now. You can't fault the author for this, because what she turned out was beyond EPIC! It was sexy, sensational, and out of this world STUNNING! I don't care how long it takes, if an author pulls out a story that leaves me absolutely speechless. Mia Asher gave her readers something special with not only this conclusion, but the whole series. This is story that you didn't see coming, that you didn't even know that you needed. It will reach the depth of your heart and soul, and totally fuck with your mind and your entire being.

"I hate you for making me love you, and I hate myself because I can't stop."

After finishing up Easy Virtue, most of you might have been #TeamRonan...possibly #TeamLawrence...HELL, maybe you're just #TeamBlaire. Either way, SWEETEST VENOM changes it up a bit and what you think you know, may have gone a whole other direction. Different personalities and revelations come to the forefront in this fantastic conclusion, and I'll tell you the truth, I didn't know what team I was on throughout this book. We get SO MUCH from every single character in this one, you can't help but to root for them all! The soft man turns HARD...the hard man turns SOFT...the BOLD woman turns vulnerable. The cycle is just incredible to witness as it unfolds.

When this arrived on my kindle...I'll tell you the truth, I had to take a day. I've been waiting on this and when if finally came I didn't know if I was ready for it. I knew I was going to be put through the ringer, and yet, by the end, I was still a jumbled mess. I wanted to savor it at the same time I wanted to devour it. I wanted to take my time and relish in Mia's writing, and at the same time I NEEDED to know how it all ended. So before I started, I had to psych myself out. I had to prepare myself for this journey. I wanted to be one with Blair as she continued her fight between her head and her heart...the past and the present...the want and the need.

I felt like I was in a daze...swept up in Mia Asher's world of lies, deceit, and revenge. I couldn't stop thinking about it. There was no going back. I felt like I was devoured, chewed up, and spit back out for 31 freaking chapters. And just when you think it's over and it may or may not be the ending that you wanted, Mia throws yet another curve ball in the story. SWEETEST VENOM was so well written, perfectly executed, and unbelievably flawless. This was by far, one of my favorite reads of this year.

In Sweetest Venom, we are reunited with Blaire, Ronan and Lawrence. As Blaire chose Lawrence at the end of Easy Virtue, the consequences of her decisions deeply impact each one of them in this final conclusion.

Blaire is convinced that she can protect her heart by only seeking superficial and sexual relationships with wealthy men and Lawrence isn’t any different to her. However, as Blaire begins to get closer to Lawrence, her feelings deepen and she starts to realize she can no longer play the game she started.

Lawrence is a commanding man who enjoys Blaire’s company, but in a moment of weakness (or clarity), he feels hope and wonders if he can open his heart again. The connection Lawrence and Blaire share is filled with sexual chemistry and a mutual understanding of admiration.

Ronan still remains the lost love of Blaire’s life and his downward spiral post break-up leads to a state of numbness. The good-natured man satisfied with simplicity and honesty assumes a new identity to ensure he won’t make the same mistake twice.

Nothing in Blaire’s life has ever been straightforward, and what occurs from the first page, is a series of ups and downs. There are times when you want to throttle Blaire and other times when you finally feel a sense of relief for her character, though it’s short lived. Her time with Lawrence is unique and there were many times when Lawrence melted my heart and heated other areas too! However, knowing Blaire’s heart truly belongs to Ronan, despite his hostile treatment toward her, added to the ever-present angst of the plot. At first, Ronan’s transition was a bit intriguing but once his motives were revealed, I was stunned.

It isn’t until the very last page when the pace stills and Blaire finds peace. Getting to that endpoint required some real soul searching for Blaire and those were the moments when I started to like Blaire. I also liked how her change impacted the first person that made her want more. To be honest, there were times in this book when I felt the angst didn’t advance the plot or character development, but I don’t want my sensitivity to bias this review. Overall, the author successfully takes the reader on a roller coaster ride of feels that pulls an assortment of emotions from your heart.

Even though I am satisfied with the ending, I must say that Lawrence absolutely stole my heart.

SWEETEST VENOM is out in 2DAYS!!!!!

I'm speechless.... I finished yesterday and I can't even begin to explain my feelings... My emotions were so up and down I felt bipolar... Mia Asher played my heart like a damn drum... It didn't stop beating out of my chest, from when I read the preface I knew this book would be the death of me.....

I'm in awe..

All I'm saying you won't have no idea where this book is going. It's brilliant, it's a master piece.
