Il secondo libro della serie Forbidden Love di L. J. Shen racconta la storia di Rhyland e Dylan, rispettivamente migliore amico e sorella di Rowe, protagonista del volume precedente.
Rhyland mi aveva già incuriosita molto nel primo libro, e non vedevo l’ora di scoprire la sua storia.
È noto per la sua vita da gigolò, ma ora è determinato a dare una svolta alla propria esistenza. Sta sviluppando una nuova app di incontri che potrebbe renderlo ricco, ma il suo potenziale socio in affari cerca un uomo di famiglia, non qualcuno con la reputazione di Rhy.
Dylan è una mamma single che ha rinunciato ai suoi sogni per crescere sua figlia. Quando si trasferisce nell’appartamento del fratello per occuparsi della casa, insieme alla piccola Gravity, si ritrova a fingere di essere la fidanzata di Rhyland. Lo scopo? Dimostrare che lui è un uomo affidabile e ottenere così i fondi necessari per lanciare la sua app, che potrebbe cambiargli la vita.
I dialoghi tra Rhyland e Dylan sono freschi e frizzanti, e l’attrazione tra loro è innegabile. Nel corso della storia entrambi evolvono molto: imparano a fidarsi, a concedersi una possibilità e ad affrontare i propri traumi.
E poi c’è la piccola Gravity, un vero portento: le sue interazioni con Rhyland sono divertentissime, e la sua dolcezza riesce a sciogliere il cuore di lui, portandolo persino a riconsiderare la sua idea di non volere figli.
È una storia che parte come un rapporto tra “nemici”, si trasforma in un’amicizia con benefici e, proprio quando sembra la soluzione perfetta per entrambi, lascia spazio a sentimenti autentici e profondi.
Le scene più piccanti sono davvero ben scritte, ma non mancano momenti intensi e toccanti. Rhy si rivela sorprendente, dimostrando quanto sia capace di cambiare e mettersi in gioco.
Una storia che parla di crescita emotiva, di seconde possibilità e del coraggio di reinventarsi. Le interazioni tra i protagonisti sono emozionanti, e i personaggi secondari contribuiscono ad arricchire ulteriormente la narrazione.
Non vedo l’ora di leggere il terzo libro della serie e conoscere il cinico e tenebroso Tate.

I just finished Truly Madly Deeply, it was amazing and I would repeat to read back again.
