Finally, this volume concludes the Mimic arc. Composition, the IDW artists aren’t afraid of you! The confrontation between Whisper and Mimic was visually engaging. The tension ramps up until the showdown, which arguably is less cathartic. It felt too easy, but it still completes everything with a nice bookend. It also cements the growth Whisper has made, and shows what thematically makes her different from Mimic.
And this book gave us some Espio and Rouge interaction! This is a winning creative team. They breathe life into old characters and explore and expand what you never knew you wanted.
There's another mini arc that wraps up fairly quickly. We get a stellar character design for a new supposedly thief, Lunar! The family resolution was CHEESY! How quickly the change came made me feel as if they had to be publicly shamed into doing better.
Unfortunately, Vector’s noir detective perspective was distracting with the lineless black and white silhouettes. I think having the lines would’ve made it clearer to follow.
That Anubis-inspired Sonic character design? Bay-bee! The art department is working it.
While some elements have been rushed, this is still a fun volume with mostly contained story arcs.

Review of advance copy
First up, Whisper finally faces off against Mimic, and then- wait a sec, is that NiGHTs? Aww, it's not.
This arc's not the strongest. The first issue starts well, Whisper's had a lot of good stuff across this run and bringing it all to a head (for now) is nicely realised and shows how far she's come.
The main arc however is a little flat. The idea of Lunar and Soleil is good, and is probably the closest kind of depiction of someone with mental health issues that SEGA will allow these days, but I think they're hamstringed by that edict, which makes them less effective than they could have been. And then Eggman shows up because that's what he does.
This is the beginning of the Road To 100 apparently, so fingers crossed this is just a false start.

Pretty much a lot of transitioning from ending the previous comic arc and now doing this road to 100 arc, so no real complete conclusions here but the chaotix anniversary special was a fun highlight

The Chaotix anniversary story was a lot of fun. Actually, in general, my favourite parts of this volume are the parts with the Chaotix.
