Paige Winterbourne was always either too young or too rebellious to succeed her mother as leader of the elite American Coven of Witches. Now that she’s twenty-three, the Elders can no longer deny her. For this girl is being pursued by a dark faction of the supernatural underworld. It’s an initiation into adulthood, womanhood, and the brutal side of magic—and Paige will have to do everything within her power to make sure they both survive.

Someone is murdering the teenage offspring of the underworld’s most influential Cabals—a circle of families that makes the mob look like amateurs. And none is more powerful than the Cortez Cabal, a faction with which Paige is intimately acquainted. Her boyfriend is none other than Lucas Cortez, the rebel son and unwilling heir. But love isn’t blind, and Paige has her eyes wide open as she is drawn into a hunt for an unnatural-born killer. Pitted against shamans, demons, and goons, it’s a battle chilling enough to make a wild young woman grow up in a hurry. If Paige gets the chance.

They want Eve to hunt down an evil spirit called the Nix, who has escaped from hell, before she does any more damage. Kelley Armstrong has been telling stories since before she could write. Her earliest written efforts were disastrous. If asked for a story about girls and dolls, hers would invariably feature undead girls and evil dolls, much to her teachers' dismay. All efforts to make her produce "normal" stories failed.

Today, she continues to spin tales of ghosts and demons and werewolves, while safely locked away in her basement writing dungeon. She's the author of the NYT-bestselling "Women of the Otherworld" paranormal suspense series and "Darkest Powers" young adult urban fantasy trilogy, as well as the Nadia Stafford crime series. Armstrong lives in southwestern Ontario with her husband, kids and far too many pets.

Reading Bitten was enough to tell me Kelley Armstrong was an author I’d become obsessed with. Her Women of the Otherworld series is wonderful, addictive in every way possible. Each story seems to get stronger, each new addition to the series taking things to new heights, and I cannot get enough of the stories.

If you’re a fan of paranormal romance and have yet to pick up the Women of the Otherworld series, I certainly suggest you do. It has everything you expect from the genre, and will leave you wanting more. Without a doubt, these books are more than worth the read for any fan of the genre.

Note: you do need to read the books in order, so make sure you go and start with Bitten.

This was probably one of Armstrong's best books I've read so far! It was really well done and the bit where the demons are raised... that was really well done. Loved it
