I loved this book, and I loved how Rose brought Abby back as a fighter standing up for herself. She is going to get to the truth if it's the last thing she does. Even though her husband has passed away, his evilness still controls their lives. There is tension and drama between Abby and Brian, and the way this book keeps you guessing makes it an amazing read. I was wondering if this book would be as good as the first one, and Rose did not disappoint. The mystery, the drama, the intrigue, and that ending made this book the perfect mystery read.

Deadly Deceit 2: Buried Truths by Rose M. Brate is an outstanding follow-up to the first book in the Deadly Deceit series. The suspense and mystery are ramped up even more in this sequel, keeping readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish.
The characters continue to evolve, and I especially appreciated how the emotional depth of the relationships was explored. The protagonist’s growth, coupled with the complex dynamics between the characters, made the story feel real and grounded. Brate’s ability to balance action with character development is impressive, adding layers to the narrative that made it more than just a thriller.
The plot is tightly woven, with plenty of twists that kept me guessing. Brate does an excellent job of building tension and dropping clues that pay off later, making the mystery incredibly satisfying. The pacing is perfect, and the writing pulls you in with vivid descriptions and sharp dialogue. The setting, too, is rich and atmospheric, adding to the overall tension and sense of danger that runs throughout the story.
One of the highlights of this book is the way Brate delves into moral gray areas, showing how characters deal with their personal demons and difficult choices. These moments of introspection elevate the book beyond typical genre fare. what a ride-
Whew! This book had me at hello. It was a ride, but through more crooked dealings than I can count. Abby, Brian, Detective DeMarco and the rest really gave it all to complete this story. Wow Rose!! I loved it! I may need something to calm my beating heart.

Deadly Deceit 2: Buried Truths took everything I thought I knew from the first book and twisted it tighter. Rose M. Brate doesn’t just raise the stakes she rips the floor out from under you and hands you a flashlight, daring you to keep going.
What impressed me most is how deeply personal Abby’s journey feels this time. She’s bruised, paranoid, and exhausted, yet still pushing forward because she has to. I found myself rooting for her even in the moments where she second-guessed her own instincts. Her fear is palpable, and so is her courage.
The discoveries hidden in the Morrison estate the journals, the encrypted files, the tunnels made the mystery feel bigger and darker than I expected. Every time Abby uncovered something, it felt like a breath held and released. And Jasper… the man is terrifying precisely because he never seems to be where you expect him. Learning he isn’t the end of the threat but the door to something even worse kept the tension razor-sharp.

What an amazing book! After "Deadly Deceit," I thought Abby's story was done. Finished. Boy was I wrong. This book had me questioning everything. Who can I trust? I suspected everyone. At one point, thought for sure Jack would rise from the ashes. Maybe his death was staged. I did not remember if Abby identified the body so . . . It is plausible. Hint. I was wrong.
This thriller is action packed. Around every corner something happens to Abby. But she never gives up. She is a fighter—survivor. This book is definitely a page turner. You will have a hard time putting it down. This book made me feel like I was watching an episode of the "Black List." It was that good. Now I have to find more books written by Rose. It was that good.

It’s funny how strong you become when you’ve lived through so much…. Abby is back in full armor on a mission to uncover the truth behind all of the betrayal she’s been through. She’s ready for the fight of her life and boy does she get it!

I couldn’t put this book down! Abby’s journey is heart stopping just when you think the danger is over, something else twists the knife. The mix of suspense, hidden secrets, and a touch of emotional depth makes this series a must read. Every chapter had me turning pages faster than I thought possible.
