I found this to be an amazing story. But if I'm completely honest so reason why I didn't give it five stars is the over usage of best friend and my brother's best friend I thought I was going to pull my hair out if I read those words one more time. Asra I've been sneaking into the training yard to watch her brother and his friend spar. Eventually she gets caught. Dade nose right away that there's something different about her. There's also an instant attraction. But he's promised your friend that he will not sleep with his sister. When she does something Reckless and sneaks out to join a ritual that she was forbidden to join he ends up saving her and finding out that she is his mate. But because of circumstances that he feels like she'll be unsafe with him he ends up rejecting her. Fast forward sometime she's heartbroken after finding out from her brother that the king is going to be marrying somebody else and she runs. But she runs into the arms of a bigger monster.

The best part of this was the smut, which was pretty good. Hot, heavy, good girl with knotting and a dominant wolf who likes to take over. But it was definitely written by 2 authors and one scene would be written twice but differently. The hero’s secret Hes so worried about is never explained as to why it’s dangerous for his mate, so the rejection didn’t make sense.
I really appreciated the OM drama, that the heroine went through with the wedding but then she instantly realizes her mistake. There’s some plot convenience with the mating bond because the H marks her without her consent and it works just fine, the OM tries and it doesn’t work.
Anyway I found it a frustrating story, hot and heavy, but the poor writing and editing was distracting.

Don't recommend
This was a horrible shifter book and i don't recommend. There are way better books out there. I did not like this book, it was all over the place. I had difficulties finishing it. The fmc I did not like, I did not understand her actions or her all. The mfc was just as bad. I also did not like how I could not place the time of this book, I was not sure if this modern times or medieval. There's parts in this book where candles and torches are used, along with swords. Yet the alpha has a cell phone and a flat screen tv. Again I do not recommend, I'm upset that i wasted my energy reading this and giving this book a try.

Sometimes it is difficult reading the stupidity of fated mates stories. This rejection phrase usage makes no sense since the bond I moon blessed. But alphas for their power and intelligence screw up royally. Dade, A Lucas king proves how even being a king he can make common sense mistakes. Sera is a sheltered, young wolf that everyone keeps in the dark instead of explaining what she needs to know. This story was excellently told.
