Witches

Rate this book
Hecate, Morgan Le Fay, the trio of hags who huddle, round the cauldron in Macbeth : these are just a few of the witches explored in these fascinating pages. Some of the information is historical, revealing details about the infamous witch trials conducted throughout Europe and the New World/British Colonies. Other details are who would have imagined that witches could be great comedians? From spells to guard against them to legends about them from long ago, there’s plenty of enchantment here.

This book was easy enough to read. While it was packed full of the history of the torturing of accused witches through the beginning of the phenomenon, it was neither stirring nor engaging. Great to read in a waiting room or something. Not so much for an in depth look at witches.

Horrible layout. Mix of random facts and unsubstantiated theories on modern Witchcraft. Meh.

Interesting little pick and mix of witchy history in the UK. Probably best for people with limited knowledge on the subject, rather than as an indepth analysis.
