She came to town to sell pumpkin spice. He’s the mountain man who brings the heat.
I’m just here to sell pumpkin spice everything and make enough cash to help my parents save the farm.
What I didn't expect was Ashe Singleton—the grumpy mountain man who builds beautiful things with his bare hands and barely speaks above a growl.
When my display riser shatters on day one, I'm desperate enough to try bribing him with homemade muffins. Everyone says he doesn't do custom work. Everyone says he keeps to himself.
But when he shows up at my booth with the perfect three-tiered riser made from "scrap wood," I start to think maybe everyone is wrong about Ashe Singleton.
He says wood settles. That's why he keeps coming back to check on my booth.
But the way he looks at me? The way he helps carry my inventory without being asked? The way his voice goes rough when he says my name?
I think we both know this has nothing to do with wood settling and everything to do with the heat building between us.
I came here to sell spices. But I might be falling for the mountain man who's about to show me just how sweet life can be.

Marissa is trying to start a spice business at a local fair she runs into Ashe and the attraction is instant. Ashe does his best to resist but it does not last long. They are a cute couple that have their issues but working them out is half the fun.
She prays that what he said or didn't say and what he did or didn't do wasn't what he really wanted!
Marissa was raised in Hartsville, a town about twenty minutes away from Wildwood Valley. As a child, she'd visited there often when they'd done family Sunday drives.
The town is hosting a Harvest Market, and she's come to stay for the week-long event. She'd quit her job to open her own spice blends business. Hopefully, successful sales will back up her decision to open her own business. She has even more plans for the business after it is a little more established.
As she was setting up her display, the online riser she'd ordered for her display broke. Everyone knows that small items displayed on a tabletop don't sell as well as those same items displayed in a taller display.
Since it's not time to open yet, she goes looking to see if another vendor might be able to help her. When she finds Ashe's booth, she knows he's the one to help her! She just might be mistaken about that.
Ashe was born and raised in Wildwood Valley. He entered the military when he was eighteen and served as a Navy SEAL. When he was discharged, he returned home and joined a construction crew. At night he does woodworking as a hobby. Most of his friends have married and started families of their own. He's just never been able to find the right one for him.
He's known throughout the town as someone who'll help anyone in true need and for never doing custom orders for anybody.
She pleads her case until he finally agrees to see what he can do. She's on pins and needles all day waiting for him to appear. A local vendor stops by to welcome her to the Market event. When Marissa expresses her worry about Ashe not showing up, the woman tells her not to worry; if he says he'll do something, he'll do it. She adds that he's known for helping those truly in need but then adds that he's never done a custom order before. The riser he built for her exceeded her expectations, which had been set high!
They begin forming a relationship. Too bad they each have insecurities about themselves. One of his causes him to back away. Normally she would try to respect his decision. But he's worth fighting for! She just hopes she hasn't misread the signs!

She brings muffins, he brings walls, neither stands a chance.
Marissa comes to the Harvest Market chasing her dream of building a spice business, only to find herself face to face with Ashe, the local woodworker who keeps to himself and never takes requests. She is all warmth, laughter, and ambition. He is all silence, scars, and strong hands. What starts as a simple favor becomes something neither of them can ignore.
At first, they circle each other carefully. Marissa pushes with charm and persistence, Ashe pulls back with quiet resistance. But the more time they spend together, the harder it is to fight the pull. What begins with a wooden riser turns into late nights, shared secrets, and the spark of something real.
Intimacy means risk. Marissa has to trust her heart, and Ashe has to face the fears that keep him from letting anyone close. Silence and doubt threaten to break them, but honesty and vulnerability hold more power than either expects.
A steamy, instalove, age gap, mountain man, curvy girl, grumpy sunshine, small town romance. Exploring love, trust, vulnerability, self discovery, healing, belonging, and found family. It’s about finding love through trust, discovering yourself while healing from the past, and building intimacy, community, and family along the way.
The Spice Girl and the Wood Guy find their perfect blend
Mountain Man's Pumpkin Spice is the second book in the Wildwood Valley Harvest series. This is a quick and entertaining book, with a story that delivers just what you want. Marissa quit her marketing job six months ago when she was confident she could dive headfirst into her dream, selling spices mixtures and baked goods. She is at the Harvest market for the week hoping to make a lot of sales and get people talking about her products. But the vision she has for her booth is not happening because the riser shattered on the first morning. Ashe is a grumpy and quiet mountain man who works construction during the day and then is a woodworker in the evenings when he wants to be. Ashe is at the market for the week, selling his creations and also doing demonstrations. Marissa shows up at Ashe's tent asking for him to make her a riser. He does not make custom orders but he finds he is willing to bend that rule for her, even if he does not want to acknowledge just what that may mean. Before you know it these two are having a hard time thinking about anything but the other, and that will bring complications before they get their HEA.
Marissa is the kind of heroine you root for immediately. She’s driven by love for her family and an unwavering belief in herself—even when the odds are stacked against her. She shows up at the Harvest Market full of spice (literally), ambition, and bright-eyed determination to make her dream come true. And that dream? To have her own spice store. Then there’s Ashe. The broody, silent woodworker who doesn’t take custom orders... until her. His first “yes” to Marissa—just a simple spice riser—feels like so much more. It’s the beginning of something neither of them is ready for, but both of them need.
Watching these two opposites gently circle each other was emotionally satisfying. Ashe, scarred and cautious, finds comfort in Marissa’s warmth, while she finds steadiness and unexpected tenderness in him.
There’s a beautiful push-and-pull between them. Marissa challenges Ashe to open up. Ashe gives her safety and someone who sees her, not just her ambition. And their connection? So sweet and sincere—with just the right amount of spice.

Her Best Trade Ever was Muffins for a Forever - Marissa only went to seek help from the grumpy mountain man, but what she got in return was a stomach filled with butterflies that left her feeling good. Ashe was known by everyone in town as the grumpy who liked his own company, but meeting Marissa seemed to make him want to change his behaviour. Taking a chance to ask Marissa out on a date was difficult for Ashe, but spending time with her brought down all the wall he had built around himself.
Unfortunately, Ashe’s insecurities nearly cost him the chance to embark on a relationship with Marissa, but once she assured him of her attraction towards him, he realised he really wanted a future with her, so they worked together to get the life they really wanted. If you are looking for a quick, fun and steamy read about the journey to happiness between a grumpy mountain and a sweet young lady, that has a sweet happy ending, then look no further than this wonderful book.

This was such a good story. Loved it. Just stinks that they are short stories. Marissa coming to the Wildwood Valley Harvest Market with her spices. Her stand to lift up the spices to catch the eye broke that morning and she approached the wood builder. Ashe was working on something when Marissa brought her pumpkin spice mini muffins to butter him up to helping her out. She told him what she needed and he said he couldn’t help her. She left him her muffins and went back to her table. She worried that people would just pass her by with nothing to lift up her spices to eye level so they’ll be viewed better. At the end of the day Ashe showed up with a beautiful stand for Marissa. She was so impressed and grateful. She sold so much that day she knew she’d sell more the next day. Ashe told her that her muffins were very good. They both liked each other and… 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜😊😊😊😊😊

Marissa is selling muffins at the Harvest Market - Ashe is selling his wood products. She kindly requests that he build a riser for her to place her muffins on display for sale. That gives them an excuse to talk, have coffee, hang out. On the first date she lets slip that she has never...well you'll have to read on to find out how it goes!
I love how fun this book was to read. The characters had great chemistry, lots of sass, and how fluid the plot is. And steamy! I am a huge fan of the author's sets and I also like how one set flows into another. The stories are all short and sweet and are quick, entertaining reads that are fast paced but don't feel rushed. I am definitely reading all the books in this set. And more!.

I’m excited to share that the second book in the Wildwood Valley Harvest series is *Mountain Man’s Pumpkin Spice*! When Marissa needs a little help with her spice stand at the Harvest Festival, she immediately thinks of Ashe and wonders if he can build her some shelves. There’s a sweet attraction blossoming between them, and Ashe can’t help but jump in to lend a hand.
Their story is a charming instalove tale with an age gap, a sprinkle of fear of rejection, and lots of spice—plus, it’s totally drama-free and without any cheating. It’s an easy and delightful read that’s perfect for curling up with at bedtime. I’m already looking forward to the next book in the series!

Marissa is trying to raise money to help her parents save their farm. Her goal is to sell pumpkin spice at Wildwood Valley's Harvest Market and eventually open her own business, but her display shelf collapsed before she even got started. Ashe Singleton, known as a grumpy mountain man who builds things and has a kind heart, shows up with a 3-tier stand he made for her from scrap wood that was just what she needed. And his return visits to check on how well the stand was holding up didn’t fool her at all. Will the two of them be drawn together as a couple by the end of the season (or sooner)? Will this turn into a HEA for them and also save her family’s farm?
Pumpkin spice and everything nice—with a grumpy mountain man twist!!!
This story is pure fall-flavored fun! Marissa shows up with determination (and pumpkin spice galore), only to find her plans derailed by one broken display and one grumpy but irresistible mountain man. Ashe might come off quiet and rugged, but his thoughtful gestures, protective streak, and undeniable chemistry with Marissa make him impossible not to fall for.
It’s short, steamy, and full of autumn charm—perfect for when you want a cozy, spicy romance you can devour in an hour. Between pumpkin muffins, lumberjack muscles, and a hero who can’t stay away, this book hits the sweet spot for anyone who loves instalove with a seasonal twist.

Marissa has decided to devote her time to building her spice business and the market is the first step. She wants to enhance her display and believes a tiered shelf is the way to do that so she approaches Ashe for help even if his grumpy attitude has her wondering if she will agree.
After his career as a SEAL ended Ashe returned to his hometown and is working in construction and is very skilled in woodworking. He is used to his solitary lifestyle but there is something about Marissa’s sunny personality that breaks through his walls, but will he let a misunderstanding come between them?
Underneath Ashe’s demeanor is a man who will do anything for anyone he cares about, and Marissa sees that and she is exactly who he needs in his life.
Creating and Blending. Amazing. Marissa needs help after her display shelves collapse. She sees the perfect person to make it happen. He’s a little grumpy about it and doesn’t give a yes or no to her request only that he doesn’t do custom orders. Ashe finds himself making the display for the curvy goddess before he even realizes that he’s doing it and delivers it at the end of the day. Then Ashe walks away. Marissa has been focused on her spices so, dating wasn’t something she missed. Until she met Ashe. Ashe has a very real fear of rejection. Will they ever blend together to create something that lasts forever?.

Marissa offers the man at woodworking booth at Harvest Market muffins if he could make her a three-tier riser for displaying her custom-made spices. The one she had purchased had broken. No response! He says that he will see what he can do. She learns that his name is Ashe. She grew up about 20 minutes away;so her family brought here her growing up. Plus she always thought about opening a spice shop in this mountain town. She has Ashe thinking more about doing other wood items to sell. And a lot more about Marissa; he is feeling things when he's around her. Maybe a way to get her into his bed? Is Marissa thinking about Ashe? What do they do after dinner? A future may be possible!.

Marissa is at the Harvest Market to sell her spices hoping to make enough money to help save her parents’ farm. Ashe makes furniture, but does not take custom orders. Needing a riser for her spices, she heads over to his tent to not place an order but to make a request. Something about her makes him reconsider and before she knows it, he is at her tent. He feels attracted to her and can’t stop thinking about her. As they spend time together, will they grow closer together and build a HEA? They make a cute couple. Highly recommend. Marissa loves her spices and wants to share them with the world. When you read this book, I swear I could smell the spices coming off the pages. Or maybe it’s what happens when she meets Ashe for the first time. Ashe keeps to himself, doesn't bother anyone, and just builds his wood pieces. When a beautiful woman asks him for help, he knows it's not going to be simple. A simple request from Marissa to ask for a shelf, and he delivers the whole kit-and-kaboodle. He crafts the most beautiful wooden piece for her spices. And for Marissa, she's about to show him what it's like to add some spice to his life. I loved the chemistry between these two and how they just came together as one.
Marissa came to the Harvest Market to sell spices. When the display she bought broke as she tried to set it up, she asked the hot guy at the woodworking booth if he could make her one. She even gave him some pumpkin muffins to thank him. Ashe didn't take custom orders. But he told her he would see what he could do, which was as close to a Yes as anyone would get out of him. The muffins were good, but it was her sweetness that he couldn't say no to. A sweet and spicy story, with a mountain man with a permanent scowl, and the curvy girl who got him to smile. Love at first spice!

This is the second book in the Wildwood Valley Harvest series and the book seemed extra short. I was able to get through it in about 30 minutes. Much like most of this author's other works, this one was a slice of a story where a aloof yet scorching hot man and a sweet woman are drawn to each other without explanation or reason for some high quality spice and HEA. If you're looking for a book to read while waiting for an appointment, this one is it. It's very short, but it's because it burns white hot. I definitely would recommend.

Mountain Man's Pumpkin Spice is Book 2 of the Wildwood Valley Harvest series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, age-gap, grumpy-sunshine, curvy virgin gets her mountain man fall romance. Ashe is a hunky, grumpy, ex-military man turned construction worker and woodworker. Marissa is a curvy ray of sunshine who makes and sells custom spice blends. The two meet at the Harvest festival when she approaches Ashe to make her a spice rack riser for display at the festival. Sparks fly and things get hot and steamy quickly. The chemistry between these two was pure fire and we got a great HEA after some minor angst.
Mountain Man's Pumpkin Spice is book two of the Wildwood Valley Harvest Series.
This was such a cute read. I loved Ashe. He was such a grumpy individual who didn't talk much or interact with others much. That was until Marissa came along and he knew she was the one for him. The chemistry between these two made the story completely believable. However, due to Ashe's insecurities about relationships he does misunderstand a situation, but don't worry, Marissa is a tough individual and wasn't going to let that stand for long.
Book two in the series is also at Wildwood Valley's fall Harvest Market, but is a stand-alone read. Each book follows a couple that find each other at the Market. Hot and steamy, quick reads.
Even though the stories are short, there is still good development of the characters and storyline.
Marissa has wanted to open her own spice shop, and the Harvest Market is a good test, but her tier shelves broke and she needs new ones. Just maybe Ashe will help.

-A short, steamy age-gap romance full of sass, spice, and heart. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.
Marissa, a sweet heroine with big dreams, meets grumpy ex-military Ashe at the Harvest Market. Their banter, muffins, and sparks quickly turn into chemistry too strong to ignore.
A fast-paced, fun read that delivers both steam and a satisfying happy ending.
“The most gorgeous scrap wood in the history of scrap wood.”
Marissa is at the farmer's market trying to sell her baked goods and spices. She meets Ashe at the market and slowly draws him out of his shell. Its not long before they are spending some time together and getting closer. However, Ashe pulls back and she isn't sure why. Will she leave Ashe behind? Will he admits to how he feels?
This is a great story that will captive you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Marissa is fascinated by the mountain man and she wanted to bribe him with muffins. She rambles at him, for a bit, and it is so cute. Ashe has a wood booth, and she talks about how she would like a riser with tiers so that she can stock her spices and they can be seen better and thus she can sell more. Marissa is shocked to learn that Ashe doesn’t do custom jobs. They are so cute together. The book is sweet, romantic, funny, cute, steamy and just a really feel good book. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Marissa is a character you'll love from the very beginning for her ambition and passion. Ashe, well, he is a cautious woodworker who doesn’t like to take custom orders until Marissa walks into his life. What starts as a small moment between them, ends up changing everything for them. What happens after this moment is a sweet love story. Their chemistry builds beautifully. Nothing feels rushed or forced, it is just perfect! This is another lovely autumn romance from Lilah Hart and one I just have to recommend as she never disappoints!!!

Instalove at its best. Marissa needed help, and Ashe couldn’t resist helping her. I loved both Marissa and Ashe, they are wonderful characters. Like many of us, Ashe had a fear of rejection, but through communication, they resolved it. The HEA is magnificent. The spiciness adds the perfect ingredient to make this story a pleasurable read.

This adorable book is all about how the spice girl and wood worker met at the Harvest Market. This is a sunshine/grump relationship from the beginning. She is all energy and light and he’s a loner who uses one syllable words and grunts to communicate. She crashed through his walls and he let her. This is a great read. Can’t wait for book 3.

This was an overall cute story, focusing on a strong female lead character who is trying to make it on her own, paired with a typical grumpy male lead. I knew going into it that it would be a short and sweet read, and I was not disappointed; I really enjoyed it! The writing was well-done and kept me engaged, and I thought the characters were fantastic and brought the story to life.
