I really enjoyed this issue — solid four stars from me. There’s a lot happening after the big time skip, and it definitely threw me for a loop at first. Now Otto’s Spider-Man, he’s living underground with Peter’s family and the Mole Man, and all the Mysterios have somehow merged into one… so yeah, it’s chaotic, but still a fun ride.
Even with the confusion, Hickman’s world-building keeps me hooked. I’m especially excited to see Peter’s son and Black Cat stepping up to try and save the world — that dynamic has real potential. Harry’s role here was another highlight for me; he’s become one of the emotional anchors of the story.
Hard to believe there are only two issues left, but I’m all in to see where this wild universe lands.
A solid issue that is leading to the big bam finale of the series. Otto having the Superior Spider-Man suit is cool and more Peter and MJ stuff is always nice. I’m not feeling the tense feeling of a oh shit the end is nigh but it’ll maybe change as it gets closer.
After a lot of building the plot is finally moving along. MJ and Peter’s relationship is excellent, Richard is going to get into trouble again and Otto, makes a very good Superior Spider-man. Harry, man. He’s going down a bad road.
Another issue another time skip that feels like we’re missing most of the story - only this time it’s a full 3 months we miss out on, yay! The issue itself was decent, but I think I’ve very much lost interest unfortunately
man as an old ultimate marvel fan I reluctantly started this universe but it turned out to be pretty great. ultimate Spider-Man is everything a Spidey fan could ask for and this and this universe in general has a potential to have comics published based on it for more than a decade, but no marvel is allergic to making fans happy and this is all going to be finished pretty soon. too bad because the universe was built fantastically so far and this already felt like it was being rushed because for some reason they couldn't wait to end the universe?. still a fantastic issue and deserves five stars in my opinion. it's genuinely really sad we are never going to see what it could have been... well at least absolute DC is going to be here for years.
An amazing comic book series. One of the best Spider-Man titles in recent years, Hickman tells a simple yet effective tale of a father super-hero and his family. Drawing on the old mythos while creating something new, this story has something for everyone, though it is again best appreciated with the other issues. The series is recommended for Spider-Man fans and fans of finite stories, as this one is set to end soon.
The time skip really puts into perspective how the recent events affected our cast of characters. There are a lot of good character moments in this one with Harry and Peter taking the top spot. Two more issues to go.
A fun issue that pays tribute to moments from Peter’s history, it’s interesting to see Otto’s character get some more time as the series begins to draw to a close. With that sentiment in mind, I’m not too sure what to make of the reveal at the end.
