Sophie Pembroke writes very British romances for Orion, Mills & Boon / Harlequin Romance, Avon and HQ. She has been dreaming, reading and writing romance ever since she read her first Mills & Boon as part of her English Literature degree at Lancaster University, so getting to write romantic fiction for a living really is a dream come true!
She lives in a little English market town with her scientist husband, wildly imaginative ten year old daughter, and adorable four year old son. She spends her days writing, drinking tea and curling up with a good book. (Oh, and planning. There is a lot of planning.)
In Sophie’s world, happy is for ever after, everything stops for tea, and there’s always time for just one more page…
Yeah, alhasil sebagian besar aku skip. Tapi aku memberikan tiga bintang karena kisahnya lumayan, setidaknya berhasil membuatku membaca sampai selesai, dibandingkan buku satunya yang belum selesai-selesai sampai sekarang. :))
Suka sama covernya.
Skandal sex tape internet masih menghantuinya krn itulah dia "tenggelam" hanya menjadi florist saja. Tapi sejak bertemu Tom si jurnalis, bayang-bayang masa lalu kembali menghantuinya.
Chemistry mereka "kering" di novel ini. Maaf deh. Malah serasa terlalu menjaga jarak, layaknya pesohor dan wartawan, seperti anjing dan kucing saja. Malah yg dibahas yg gak penting, spt bunuh diri Jez si gitaris. Gak ada hubungan dgn judulnya, bridesmaid. Daku kecele.
that cute enemies to lovers plot. gaining trust, from getting most uncomfortable with him to getting most comfortable and reliable to him. the story turns out to be a cute on flick read. i know i took my precious time to complete this book but if you are looking for an enemies to lovers quick read, its a good grab
The weakest of the trilogy. Whilst Rose and Daisy and Seb and Will were fabulous characters, Violet was a disappointment. She’d allowed one mistake to rule her life, instead of getting out and fighting her corner. Her refusal to trust Tom went on far too long. I wanted Tom to walk away from her toxic mistrust. It was a decent read but I didn’t enjoy it like the first two.
Third Book of 'Summer Weddings. Repetitive Heroine
This book is the third in the Summer Weddings Series. It was a fair to good read, however, it did not live up to books one and two. For me book one and two were 4.5-star reads.
I liked the characters, Violet and Tom, but they weren't as well-developed and defined as Daisy, Seb, Rose and Will. Violet and Tom did not seem to have as many dimensions to their characters being more one-dimensional. Because of that I didn't feel I knew them very well. In books one and two I felt I knew the heroes and heroines extremely well and felt as though I was living in the story being told. Not so with 'Falling for the Bridesmaid.'
Violet was a different sort of character. She had something awful exposed eight years ago and never set the record straight with the public (and she really should have!! Bad mistake on her part.) She lived like a hermit and let that one mistake define her whole life giving her an abundance of limitations. She did not want anything to do with life outside her family's compound. I believe it went way too far in that direction and the redundancy of her thoughts and feelings of that time and the here and now were over the top. It was the same old thing throughout. Instead up sucking it up and getting on with life she chooses to relive her agony every single day. It just became old very quickly.
By the time they got together and were 'so in love' I just didn't feel it between them. There didn't appear to be a deep connection or that they were anywhere near close enough to be making a life decision. I like my heroines to be a bit stronger, tougher and smarter. Needless to say I was disappointed.
"Both Violet and Tom have strong voices throughout this contemporary love story. Readers will get a kick out of the dry humor and the several ups and downs, which make Pembroke’s latest a real page-turner" (RT Book Reviews, 4 stars).
not the best start to my harlequin romance research. I'm still wet behind the ears but the relationship just fell flat. no chemistry and very little in the way of a believable back story. I hope my second HR is better.
