Three years have passed since Peter Quell's last prophetic dream and once again his latest dream predicts who will win the presidential race. Peter has been a nice, polite prophet who tried to point out the error of our ways. But this time around there is a second prophet, an older man known as Jesse, whose prophecies are darker.

And once again, author Jeff Fulmer addresses American politics in his story, speaking out about the way religion has sometimes been twisted for political gain, examining current issues through the lens of his Christian values, often using Biblical references to back up his opinions. WWJD.

This is a quick read with little character development beyond the main character but there are some exciting action scenes. The main focus is on the social issues, a call out to examine these through one's own values and beliefs. The author's afterword is spot on.

Many thanks to the author and publisher for providing me with an arc of this new novel via NetGalley.

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and publisher for an ARC of The Two Prophets by Jeff Fulmer. While this book was considered a stand-alone book, I went back and read the two other books that have the same main character and precede this book in time.

As the title suggests, Peter Quell is a modern-day prophet who has dreams that eventually come true. The story in this book and other books strike a remarkable resemblance to current day political events. For me, the book strikes much too close to home and I had a difficult time finishing it. Books are my escape from the worries of the world. I don’t need to read about if I am living it.

I did not care for this book, it was too political. A lot of the characters were obviously based on current politicians and came across in a biased one-sided characterization.

The prophets were a bit quirky (only reason I kept reading the book).

The Two Prophets is a novel by Jeff Fulmer. I found this story to be exciting with twist and surprises. I thought that the story was inspirational with excellent characters. Peter has dreams of the future and often the dreams are prophetic concerning President Lawler; who does not like Peter. The prophets take a stand and they tell what God wants the people to hear. I could not put the book down and I think this is a book you will enjoy. I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.

I received a copy of the two prophets by Jeff Fulmer four review via net gallery. All thoughts and opinions written here are my own. I did not receive any compensation whatsoever for this review.

I just finished reading the two prophets by Jeff Fulmer. I had never read any of this author's books before, but the title looked interesting and I was eager to get started. The story centers around present day and the political environment looks very similar to what it is right now in 2025, with some humor and a few oddball characters thrown in. After reading this book I found out that it is actually a series with so far three books. This being the last one I don't know if there are more to come or not. So there are two prophets. Jesse and Peter, each of them have prophetic dreams which they are bound by some promise to put them out there to the world. Pretty freshly after the dream is had they use the internet to do this. It is my understanding that over the three books that you meet and begin their prophetic journey together each giving their various dreams at different times and meeting others with similar gifts along the way.
I very much enjoyed this story and I look forward to reading the other two books that are in the series so that I can sort of backwards catch up if you will. While some people might be put off by present events of today's nature being put into literary fiction, I feel like this is a nice way to illustrate what's going on, but also give some hope and create a little bit of distance from the present. At least that's what it felt like to me.
I hope that Mr Fulmer Will continue his work as an author, perhaps even continuing this series. I'd like to see where things go for the characters from here. It would be a privilege to be able to read any future work of theirs

I received an ARC through "Booksirens" and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

The story begins with a dream which projects Lawler will win reelection and bad things will follow. Lawler did not win 4 years earlier, but he does get elected once more. Peter is hesitant about revealing this prophecy because it would provide Lawler help. Peter has another dream in which Jesse is telling Peter that as a prophet, those prophecies must be revealed so Peter goes on and releases it which draws a great deal of comments, some good and some bad. The next prophecy is released and it pertains to who will win the Super Bowl and what the final score would be. Days later Peter has another dream which speaks to a time where migrants were being hunter with plans for deportation.

The story will disclose other prophecies that Peter and Jesse foretold and what the response throughout the country will eventually lead to in the future. As a result of their prophecies both Peter and Jesse wound up with a bounty on their heads. It got so bad that Peter had to find a new place to live and even then, he would eventually think about leaving the country.

Read along and follow the events that Peter as well as Jesse have to endure, who was providing help for Peter's disappearance and how Peter felt a life changing event. The ending is well done and the book is well worth reading, don't miss out!

The Two Prophets by Jeff Pulmer is a fast-paced, politically charged thriller that blends faith, prophecy, and resistance in a deeply divided nation. Peter, a reluctant prophet haunted by visions, and his mentor Jesse stand up against a corrupt administration determined to suppress the truth. The novel explores themes of moral courage, freedom, and the cost of conviction. Pulmer’s writing is engaging, and his mix of spiritual tension with real-world politics feels timely and unsettlingly plausible. While the tone can be heavy-handed at times, it’s a gripping and thought-provoking read.

A mystic story, best word building, thrilling in each move to survive. Twist in facts and dreams, which is the truth, which is the illusions and what will be the best choice? This book worths to spend your weekend with.

Comparing to his previous Hometown Prophet and The American Prophet, The Two Prophets shows that Pulmer's narrative structure matures - tighter pacing, more interwoven subplots, and smoother transitions between visions and reality. With The Two Prophets, Fulmer prove his best storytelling, sharper than the previous two books. His writing technique is more refined and dramatically powerful.

First, thank you to Jeff Fulmer and NetGalley for an advanced reading copy of The Two Prophets. It's such an interesting story that I really enjoyed reading.

Imagine you are someone who receives visions from God when you dream. You saw a pandemic coming and warned the world, then you saw a vision of an insurrection. The first vision came true but the second didn't. Now people think you are the boy who cried wolf and refuse to listen when you say your next vision.

The Two Prophets follow Peter as he tries to navigate a world where he has the ability to warn the world but the world doesn't want to hear him. I loved how Fulmer showcases just how toxic social media can be. Peter eventually has to go into hiding to protect himself.

Reading this book, I found myself comparing certain characters in the book to people in real life. This book felt like a high-pressure and tense book. I didn't know where it was going and I loved the ride. I will be reading more from Jeff Fulmer.

This book is for anyone who wants to read a political book that makes you question the moral dilemma of the current climate. This is a quick read and one that you will finish in about a day. It's a high-paced and action-packed book.

Even though this is supposed to be a stand alone book, I went back and read the American Prophet before starting this follow up.

I didn't really care for the first one as it seemed to me that Peter had dreams that were prophetic over and over. People either followed him because they liked being aware when catastrophe was going to strike or because they hated his messages (which aggravated the president) and wanted to and tried to kill him. He seemed to travel a lot to escape those who wanted him dead, but the traveling just used up pages and time and didn't really help anything. I gave it 2 stars.

I read this anyway as I had already committed to it and found it more of the same. Just an excuse to make money was how I felt about the book and I was glad I hadn't spent anything for it.

More of the same is no reason to waste time reading it. If you read the previous book, that's enough.

Thank you NetGalley for an advance reader copy. Honest opinions expressed here are my own and are freely given.

My GOODNESS!!

When I requested this book I went in blind. I've never read any of the previous books of this series(big mistake) and I can't lie, when I started reading this, I devoured it. Fulmer wrote this book in an engaging way. It captured our current times, but also showed us both sides of the coin when the government had to deal with not only Peter's dreams but Jesse's messages. There was so much in this book that gave word and vision to the fears that we are currently facing with this regime every day.

The networking that kept Peter safe - the movement that Jesse and Peter created. The way the people moved mountains. THE PEOPLE.

There are no words for the skips, the scares, the tears and the nervousness I experienced reading this book. The description of Peter's POV, every experience, every anxiety and emotion. I could create the scenes as I read along.

Magnificent. I've already started the American Prophet.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley.

Dress up the current dystopic political situation as a thriller. Add a spiritual element with a couple of good guys who seem to be able to predict events from their dreams. Mix in a malevolent power structure bent on hiding the truth and guardians capable of preserving the message. And you have a recipe for a dish that carries a none-to-subtle message but little literary value.

The themes are cliches of the tension that currently exists in our polarized society. Notwithstanding its fast pace, the plot is just a series of outlandish threats that the protagonist manages to wriggle out of with the timely assistance of a series of minders. The settings are dictated by the danger they present. These shortcomings aside, the characters are the chief failing of this short novel. They are cartoonish, lacking inner lives, deep personal relationships, weaknesses or arcs of development. This novel lacks the gravitas that its urgent message and relevance demand.

I received a Kindle copy of this book from a Goodreads giveaway.

I had not read any of Fulmer's books prior to this one, so I went in blind. It was an interesting read. I got quite a few chuckles from the similarities to the current political environment and people, so that was a fun little theme. I cannot imagine any MAGA followers enjoying this book. It was interesting to explore what would happen if these two men existed in this current political climate - I feel that the descriptions of what would happen are probably pretty accurate, but hopefully we will never know if that is what would happen.

There were quite a few typos or edits that were missed and that is a big pet peeve of mine. The story was also a little incoherent because it was rushed in certain spots. I think the book could have been longer to elaborate a little bit more on how they got from point A to point B instead of just all of a sudden being in a new place in a new chapter.

3.5 ⭐️ "The following is based on actual events. Only the names, locations and events have been changed."-Anchorman. This story felt a little too familiar, close to home. I mostly enjoyed it. It feels political on the surface, but it’s really a moral and ethical dilemma wrapped in spirituality. I love a political intrigue story and this delivers. It is fast paced and takes you from the quiet hallows of Tennessee to icy Vermont and chaotic Washington DC. I struggled a bit with this book because I kept thinking I was distracted or bored with it- I wasn’t, finished in a day- because i thought I had missed important information and an entire character arc, only to realize that this was a sequel, number 3. I know that fans of the series would find it wordy and redundant, put a few extra pages of backstory would have made this a great standalone.

A Pulse-Pounding Vision of Resistance...

Jeff Fulmer's The Two Prophets is the kind of bold, searching political thriller that hits uncomfortably close to the bone. We follow Peter, a man who never asked for this gift—dreams that keep bleeding into reality—and Jesse, his mentor, whose own visions rattle the powerful. When their warnings start cutting too close to the truth, they become marked men in a country caught between what it knows and what it's willing to face.

Fulmer weaves suspense, conscience, and sharp social insight into something that grips you and won't let go—a story about what it takes to stand up, to hold onto faith when the ground shifts beneath you, to pay the price for refusing to stay quiet. Tense and thoughtful, unsparing in its honesty, The Two Prophets reads like both a warning light flashing in the distance and an urgent knock at the door.

The Two Prophets is set in the present time and loosely follows politics of the last several years with the twist of 2 prophets who speak out against policies of the administration. The powers of good and evil are clearly presented as well as the lengths people will go to maintain power when voices are raised in opposition. It is a book that raises questions about freedom of speech, true prophets vs false prophets, and political corruption. I gave the 2 stars only because I found the book to be predictable, with a few exceptions. As a work of fiction I think it resembles our current political climate too closely.

The Two Prophets
By Jeff Fulmer

This is the third in a series. I did not read the first one, but did read "American Prophet". If you read my review of the previous books, you know that there were things about it that I felt detracted from an otherwise good book.

This book is better. It is not as preachy or as blatantly biased. There are the same Good guys/bad guys scenarios. But there are also just average people trying to make the world better. The message comes across much better when the characters portrayed are more human and fallible.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC.

Jeff Fulmer’s The Two Prophets is a timely and provocative blend of political commentary and spiritual suspense. Through Peter and Jesse’s intertwined journeys, Fulmer examines the fragile balance between faith, truth, and authority in a divided nation. The prophetic visions serve not just as a plot device, but as a mirror to contemporary struggles with morality, belief, and freedom of expression. Sharp, thought-provoking, and deeply relevant, this novel challenges readers to question where they stand when conviction and power collide.

Peter's dreams have returned, and he is once again in the public eye as he shares them with the world. But not only is Peter now announcing prophecies but his mentor, Jesse, is also sharing his warnings to the world. As these two work together to bring wrongdoing by very high-ranking people to the public eye they find themselves in a dangerous position. The reader is drawn into a plot and that leads to a very climatic ending.

Thank you to Netgally, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book.

The Two Prophets is one of those novels that stays with you long after you’ve finished the last page. Jeff Fulmer has created characters who feel strikingly real Peter with his reluctance and Jesse with his fearless conviction. The way their stories intertwine against the backdrop of a tense political climate makes the book feel eerily relevant. This isn’t just a political thriller; it’s also a moral journey that makes you reflect on the meaning of truth and the courage it takes to defend it.

Jeff Fulmer’s The Two Prophets is both timely and powerful. The author skillfully weaves prophecy, politics, and human conscience into a narrative that grips the reader from beginning to end. What I found most impressive was the pacing each prophetic dream builds tension, yet the story remains grounded in its exploration of morality and power. This is a well-crafted, intelligent novel that speaks to the challenges of our times.

Fulmer takes a bold step with The Two Prophets, writing a story that feels like both a thriller and a warning. The relationship between Peter and Jesse is fascinating one reluctant, the other outspoken, yet both united by a higher calling. Their voices challenge the systems around them, and in doing so, they challenge the reader as well. I appreciated how the book doesn’t hand out easy answers but instead invites you into the struggle of choosing sides when the truth is at stake.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters felt real, the writing flowed smoothly, and the story had me hooked. I especially connected with Peter his doubts, his struggles, and the way he kept getting pulled into something bigger than himself. Jesse added an interesting dynamic too, pushing the story forward in ways I didn’t expect. It’s the kind of book that makes you think about what you’d do if you were in their shoes.

Unfortunately, this became a DNF for me. I read the first book and found it so one-dimensional. I just could not handle a rinse and repeat of the author using a book as a means to share his personal political position. I am open to writing that weaves political ideology into the story but I do need for there to be at least some balance. These books were just so narrow in focus and one dimensional. Nope. Not wasting hours of my time reading about the author's distaste for Lawler/Trump.

Timely topic as a totalitarian government is called out by modern-day prophets. The prophets are hunted by the government yet they continue to prophesy and their messages come true and offend those who want to maintain the status quo. Thought-provoking tale. Honestly, I didn’t expect to get pulled in so fast, but once I started The Two Prophets, I couldn’t stop reading. The mix of dreams, politics, and real human struggle made the story addictive. I liked how Peter wasn’t portrayed as some perfect hero he doubts himself, he hesitates, and that made him easy to connect with. And Jesse? He brought fire and energy that balanced the story out perfectly.

What I really enjoyed about this book is how relevant it feels. You can read The Two Prophets as a political thriller, but at the same time, it feels like a story about all of us how far we’re willing to go to speak out, even when it’s risky. Peter’s journey felt very human, and I liked that it wasn’t all action there were moments that made me stop and think.

I wasn’t sure at first if the “prophetic dreams” angle would work for me, but it absolutely did. The mix of thriller and allegory kept me engaged. A couple of spots felt a little rushed, but overall a very strong read with real weight behind the message.

I read Hometown Prophet a while ago and really enjoyed how Fulmer used fiction to make bold points. Seeing that Peter is back again in The Two Prophets makes me curious about where his journey goes next. Can’t wait to get my hands on this one.
