I clawed my way back from rock bottom to reclaim my spot playing for the Knights. After nearly losing everything because of a woman, I swore off relationships—focusing only on hockey and the occasional no-strings hookup.

This second chance at my career is everything. I've spent years rebuilding what I destroyed in a few moments of weakness. Risking it all again isn't an option.

Then Victoria slams back into my life, and suddenly the walls I've built start crumbling. The feelings I buried are resurfacing with a vengeance.

She nearly took everything from me once—but one taste and I’m lost all over again.

Taking a chance on her after everything we went through would be playing with fire.

But I'm starting to think some burns might be worth the pain.

Wild Shot is the tenth, and final, book in the Lauderdale Knights series and follows Jordan on his second chance journey with Victoria.

Four years ago, Jordan was a rookie for the Knights. He met a girl and started dating her, against her father's wishes. They were young, and dumb. When she ended up pregnant, he was excited and ready to settle down. But fate had other thoughts. And so did her father. Life changed drastically in an instant. Jordan nearly lost everything. He has spent the last four years rebuilding his life and proving himself to the team who took a chance on him.

Victoria was a high school senior when she met a young man who stole her heart. After months of waiting and getting to know each other, he became her first. Her parents did not approve of him which made life difficult for her at home. But when she became pregnant at 18, her father hated him even more. But when fate changed circumstances, her father took advantage of the situation and turned the tables on this young couple that will have repercussions for years.

It has taken Jordan four years to prove to the Knights that he has grown up and is ready for the majors. He has had to work hard on staying calm, focusing and getting the job done without being distracted by any outside forces.

During a night out with a few of his teammates, Jordan's past rears its ugly head and forces him to acknowledge his past and the lack of closure. He needs to speak with Victoria in order to get the closure he so needs. But he is not expecting what she has to say and it will make him question everything he thought about what happened.

Victoria is in her final semester of college and working nearly full time. She still lives at home, but she helps out around the house and watches her nephew when needed. She has bills to pay and she is determined to graduate and get a full time job in her field of study, even if it is not the field she wanted to study.

Now that the truth is out between Jordan and Victoria, they can finally get the closure they both so desperately need. But these two are drawn to each other like magnets and nothing can break the chemistry they still have.

Jordan's parents, especially his mother, fears that history will repeat itself if Jordan and Victoria try again. But she is reasonable and is willing to give her a second chance as well.

Victoria's parents are another story. Her father goes out of his way to make is opinion well known. He is openly hostile towards Jordan and is constantly harping on her about not doing enough to help out at home. He is hyper critical of her choices, from buying a new car to only being an assistant manager at the store where she works instead of running the store.

But mother nature has other plans for Jordan and Victoria and she can be a fickle witch.

But when Victoria's father suffers a medical emergency, it is Jordan who handles the situation like a champ. He is the one who makes the necessary phone calls to get information. He is the one to take care of the family who is openly hostile to him.

Will these two be able to make a second chance work for them or will history repeat itself?

I loved seeing that Jordan is not willing to let Victoria's father come between them. But the best part was the grand gesture that Victoria does. It is just what he needs from her in order to not give up on them.

Although I did not like Jordan's mother's attitude about Victoria, it was completely understandable. I was glad to see she was willing to listen to him and have an open mind.

Victoria's parents really irked me. I found her father overbearing, manipulative, coercive and down right mean. In my opinion, he was emotionally abusive to his daughters. Her mother was just as manipulative, but in a softer way. She would make excuses for her husband. She did not have a backbone. Both of them were poor examples of what love should look like.

WILD SHOT is the tenth instalment in Kat Mizera’s contemporary, adult LAUDERDALE KNIGHTS erotic, hockey romance series. This is twenty-three year old professional hockey player Jordan Palmer, and twenty-two year old, university student Victoria Denali’s story line. WILD SHOT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Jordan and Victoria) WILD SHOT follows the second chance romance and relationship between twenty-three year old professional hockey player Jordan Palmer, and twenty-two year old, university student Victoria Denali. Four years earlier life spiralled out of control for our story line couple. High school sweethearts town apart by secrets and lies, and in the ensuing time, neither one was aware of the entire truth. Fast forward to present day, Jordan Palmer will come face to face with the woman that destroyed his heart, a woman who is struggling to move on from the past. A second chance at a happily ever after is threatened by the same issues that tore them apart but Victoria must come to terms with her life at home, choosing the man who has stolen her heart.

The world building focuses on the rebuilding relationship, and Victoria and Jordan’s struggle to prove they are worthy. Four years of perceived betrayal has some people in their lives struggling to accept the possibility of a second chance, while our couple must deal with memories from the past about what happened and why.

The relationship between Jordan and Victoria is a rekindling romance that is hampered by Victoria’s controlling family. From bulldozing, guilt trips, and Victoria’s inability to think on her own, everything about her parents is conditional and controlling, and in this any chance at a happily ever after may be lost . The $ex scenes are erotic and provocative without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is another large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including several members of the Lauderdale Knights. We are introduced to Victoria’s extended and often controlling family, as well as her sister Chloe, who has some issues of her own.

WILD SHOT is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and heart break, family and relationships, forgiveness and love. The character driven premise is emotional and dramatic; the romance is seductive; the characters are determined and charismatic.

A second chance romance that proves no one does heartbreak, heat, and healing quite like Kat Mizera.

With Hot Shot, the final instalment in the Lauderdale Knights series, Kat Mizera delivers an exceptional, emotionally charged finale that perfectly captures everything readers have loved about this world from the very beginning.

Jordan and Victoria’s story is the definition of a second chance done right. Once young and deeply in love, their relationship imploded four years ago—misunderstandings, heartbreak, and timing tearing them apart before they even realised what they had. Back then, Jordan was a rising hockey star with the world at his feet… until the fallout with Victoria sent his life into a tailspin, landing him in the minors.

Now, after years of hard work and determination, Jordan is back where he belongs—in the big league. Facing Victoria again? That was never part of the plan. Neither was the rush of unresolved feelings or the sting of a past he believes she walked away from without looking back.

But as always, things aren’t that simple.

Victoria is in her final year of college, fighting for independence from her controlling family while trying to build a life on her own terms. Seeing Jordan again reopens old wounds—but also reignites a connection that never truly faded. Their chemistry is undeniable, their bond still fiercely intact, and the emotional pull between them is impossible to ignore.

What makes this story shine is the maturity. These aren’t the same people they were four years ago. For them to move forward—together or apart—they must confront the truth of their past, learn to forgive, and decide what they’re willing to fight for. And Jordan? He’s not letting Victoria go without a fight this time.

Victoria’s journey is just as powerful, especially as she navigates breaking free from the expectations and control of her family. Her growth adds depth and heart to an already emotionally rich story.

This book delivers everything—swoony romance, palpable tension, sizzling heat, and a deeply satisfying emotional payoff. And that ending? A perfect happy ever after with an epilogue that feels like a well-earned reward.

Hot Shot is a moving, passionate, and completely immersive conclusion to a standout hockey romance series—where every book has brought something unique, and this final one leaves you with that perfect “book hangover” feeling.

Jordan & Victoria's emotional second chance

Kat Mizera has delivered yet another emotional story in her Lauderdale Knights series with WILD SHOT, the thenth and final installment. This is a second chance, protective hero, friends to enemies to lovers hockey romance which pulled on all my heartstrings.

Jordan Palmer and Victoria Denali were teenage sweethearts, they were on top of the world until circumstances and a controlling father tore them apart, threatening Jordan which resulted him in being sent back to the minors. Four years have past, Jordan has fought his way back into the Knights and is enjoying his life. Victoria is still living under the control of her parents but is starting to fight for some independence. Will a chance meeting at a local bar change everything for both?

I loved Jordan and Victoria's story, it was real second chance at love story which touched my heart. Jordan never expected to see Victoria again, when he does familiar feelings begin to rise to the surface, Victoria also feels the bond that once was between them. Will they be abe to resolve the hurt of the past and move toward a future together? Victoria's father is still controlling as ever, but Jordan is determined to fight for Victoria this time. Will she have the strength to stand up to her father and choose the man she has always loved?

Kat writes her stories in such a manner that I never want to put them down, and that certainly happened with WILD SHOT. She deals with realistic and relevant topics, delivers swoonworthy romances which always have plenty of tension, sizzling chemistry and heat, wonderful characters, and some terrific humour. WILD SHOT is about love and choices, and I'm so pleased I chose to read it. Highly recommended.

We’re back in Lauderdale with the Knights and this was a heartfelt addition to the series. “Wild Shot” is an emotional, romantic and healing second chance hockey romance that was a sweet addition to the series.

It’s been four years since Victoria and Jordan had last seen each other and things ended not on the best terms. Difficult situations happened and Jordan had to claw his way back to his NHL team while Victoria had to find herself again in school with a career. But a chance meeting again at a bar sparks the flame that they had back then again. Victoria’s parents are not happy but the feelings she and Jordan had back then were very much real and they want to take a second chance at forever.

Jordan and Victoria were a cute couple who I could tell from the beginning that they had something special. Jordan is hardworking, patient and his whole heart belongs to Victoria. Victoria is smart, genuine and wants to be able do what she wants in life while making her parents happy at the same time. However, her parents are a big problem in their story. For some reason, they don’t like Jordan. There is the stigma that all athletes are cheaters, he has never once looked at another woman back when they first dated and he was all in again the moment they found each other again. Her parents treated him badly for sure through most of the book which really bothered me for him. That man was down bad for Victoria and was doing everything right for her. It took awhile for her to find her backbone and stand up against them and once she did, I was cheering for her. They both grew a lot as individuals and as a couple in this book. The epilogue was so sweet and I’m glad they got their happy ending.

Four years ago it was teenage love between Victoria and Jordan but a miscarriage and a controlling father pulled them apart in a way that was unthinkable. Jordan’s hockey career had just started and was now in jeopardy because he was being forced to go to the minors. Victoria had these college plans that had to change suddenly. Each one thought the other one broke their heart when in true reality it was way beyond that. When they met in a bar one night by chance, they both realized that they needed to talk in order to move on. What they were not expecting though was that the love they had for each other back then, was just as strong today. Jordan had been called up and was doing well with the Knights. Victoria was almost finished with her college degree but still living at home. Was taking a chance again, risking everything, going to be worth it? It could be, but there were still some roadblocks in their way that they would have to work through. But once they got through them, then it would be full steam ahead in this amazing journey together….they hoped.

Kat Mizera has taken us back to the Knights with the 10th book in the series. In her true form she touches on subjects that people have to deal with, but don’t always want to talk about. She has this incredible ability to not only capture but hold onto our attention all the way through the books she writes. While you do not have to read the other ones in the series before, it does help. And in her true format she has characters mentioned in here from the other book series she has. Definitely add this one on your TBR list!

Thanks to Wildfire Marketing and the author for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

Jordan and Victoria’s journey to a HEA was definitely bumpy.

Four years ago they were torn apart by tragic circumstances, bad timing and her overbearing parents. Running into each other in a Ft. Lauderdale club was serendipitous as Jordan was able to step in twice to rescue Victoria from a creep. When Jordan gave her a ride home he sees a little boy run out to greet her and he’s thrown for a loop realizing the child they lost would have been about the same age and he starts wondering…

These two get a chance to talk and get some closure on what happened to tear them apart previously and then they slowly begin to spend time together to see if they still have a chance.

I loved getting to see Jordan and Victoria work to rebuild their relationship and explore the possibilities for a future together.

Victoria’s parents are toxic and controlling. It was hard to read about parents who treated their daughter so horribly - no matter what she tried to do to win their love and support they became more controlling. The rules and constraints they put on her and Jordan were unreasonable and eventually wear at their relationship. Victoria event has to standup and choose Jordan and their relationship.

I loved the interactions with Jude and Chloe. These two were almost like supportive older siblings taking Jordan and Victoria under their wing to help them navigate the rough patches.

The Lauderdale Knights series has been amazing and it’s hard to believe it’s finished.

I received a free ARC from the author; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.

The tenth and series finale in the Lauderdale Knights series. We are going on a journey with Jordan and Victoria for their second chance.

Four years ago, Jordan and Victoria met and began dating. Her parents did not approve. Her parents then took action when she became pregnant at 18. Mother nature had a hand in the pregnancy as well.

Jordan has used these four years to better himself, grow up, and prove himself to the Knights. He has worked hard to ignore the outside distractions. During a night out his past re-emerges. He needs to have a conversation with Victoria to put closure to their past.

The conversation happens, the feelings are still there, and a second chance is on the table. Before long Victoria’s father has a medical event, and Jordan takes charge. Even knowing how her family feels about him. Can these two get a second chance?

Kat Mizera delivered the emotions, the heat, and the conflict so well. I was rooting for Jordan and Victoria, but I disliked her parents. Out window into the heartbreak and healing made for an emotional read. This book can stand alone, but this reader recommends the series. There are trigger warnings for this book, seek them out if you need to.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

Lauderdale Knights #10

Victoria Denali and Jordan Palmer met when they were seventeen and eighteen and were everything to each other but it ended when they were eighteen and nineteen and it about destroyed Jordan's life. He got sent down to the minor league team and had to fight his way back to claim his position on the Lauderdale Knights pro hockey team.

Now four years later he runs into Victoria at a bar where she is being harassed by a guy and Jordan intervenes, and ends up driving her home.
He contacts her the following day telling her they need to talk and clear the air. There were so many unresolved issues between them and he wants answers. But it also brings them back together again and the love they shared is still there.

She is in the process of finishing her last year of college, still lives at home and even though she is twenty-two her parents still control her life especially her dad which was the problem before.

Can they survive this the second time around?

4.5 stars
I loved how Jordan has grown up, still loves her and is willing to try again even though everything before almost destroyed his life, his position on the team. He has a great group of friends/teammates who are there for each other too.

Jordan and Victoria were in love as teenagers, but when it ended, both of their lives imploded. He lost almost everything and she became her family’s proverbial punching bag. Expectations for her were so much higher than her younger sister. When Jordan sees her getting harassed, he knows he is going to help her, even if he shouldn’t. Helping her will change everything, but have they grown enough to make better decisions?

I loved Jordan. He didn’t hide his feelings and he worked so hard to get her to see what was in front of her. While I understood her reasoning, her blindness to her parents actions irritated by the end of the book. I loved the connection between them and how she was accepted by his teammates and their significant others. Her boss was the voice of reason and helped her realize some harsh truths.

The heartbreak at the root of their breakup was horrific and the misunderstanding/manipulation broke my heart. I didn’t care for her dad, and the reason he came around didn’t seem good enough. I felt like he should have had to grovel a little bit more. Overall, I really loved Jordan and Victoria.

A great way to end the series. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

Four years ago, Jordan hockey career and life spiraled out of control when his teenage girlfriend, Victoria, suffered a miscarriage after an auto accident. Jordan and Victoria were separated by her controlling father and each of them believing the other gave up on their love. Fast forward to the present, Jordan saves Victoria from a guy in a Ft. Lauderdale club. When Jordan gives Victoria a ride home, he sees a boy hug Victoria and starts to question if Victoria really had a miscarriage. Will Jordan and Victoria get the closure they are looking for when they finally speak? Jordan and Victoria find that the chemistry is still there between them after seeing each other again. Will Jordan and Victoria go for their second chance at a relationship? Can Jordan and Victoria weather the storm when her father learns they are back together? Will Victoria show Jordan she will pick him? When Victoria's father has a medical issue, Jordan steps up and is there for Victoria and her family. I loved Wild Shot by Kat Mizera. Jordan and Victoria are a fantastic couple with scorching hot chemistry. I would highly recommend getting Wild Shot and the other books in the Lauderdale Knights series by Kat Mizera. JJordan is a hockey player for the Lauderdale Knights getting his second chance with the team after his downward spiral four years ago. Victoria is his former love that he blames for said spiral. Jordan and Victoria were ripped apart four years ago by tragic events and a controlling father (Victoria's). When he comes to her rescue in a bar it is the first time he has laid eyes on her in four years. He can't deny the pull that she still has on her. He drops her off at home and sees a little boy run into her arms. He starts to question everything he knew about what happened in the past.

They finally sit down to talk and both begin to realize that everything was not as it seemed. Slowly they begin to rebuild what they thought lost forever but her family, in particular her father, still stand in their way. Can they find a way to communicate and make it work?

I was glad that Victoria was finally able to take a stand and make a decision for herself. I loved Jordan and Victoria's path back to each other and was happy to see my favorite couples from the series. I will definitely miss the Lauderdale Knights!

This wild shot aims straight for the heart

Wild Shot is an emotionally charged, second-chance romance that delivers both heart and heat. This is Jordon’s story about redemption, and his determination to rebuild his life after hitting rock bottom and then is tested when the past he tried to bury comes roaring back. The internal conflict feels raw and authentic - the intensity of his professional hockey alongside his vulnerability who’s learned the hard way what’s truly at stake and what it would take to start again with the person that mattered the most.

Victoria’s return into his life adds a compelling layer of tension, uncertainty and chemistry that crackles on every page. Their history is messy, complicated, and impossible for each of them to ignore, which makes their reconnection all the more gripping. Kat balances their passion with emotional growth, creating a story that isn’t just about rekindled love, but also about forgiveness, risk, and whether some mistakes are worth making twice. Fans of second-chance romance and the series will love this novel, which incorporates just the right mix of angst, hope, and undeniable attraction. It is everything you could want!

At the risk of repetition, Kat writes the best stories. This plot line flows like river water over rocks. There are obstacles but the continued flow smooths the path over time.

For me, this was a uncomfortable read. It mirrored my personal journey growing up in an isolated community in Northern Canada where everyone knew everybody. Parental decisions were base on looking good rather than doing good.

Jordyn and Victoria weren't star-crossed lover so much as separated by circumstance. What I appreciate about the story is that there is a willingness to put the past behind and move forward. Albeit, with caution.

There is a rhythm to this story that makes you want to stay with the book until you are completely finished. I certainly did. I read the first part; woke up three hours later with a burning need to finish the story. I got up, made tea, and finished the story.

When I finished, I wished it was a movie so that I could play parts again. I have read the book again. Bring on the movie.

This story tells us how Jordan has grown up in the years since we met him and he had drama and was sent down to the minors. He now is back with the Lauderdale Knights and doing well. His career is on track and he is enjoying being a mentor to some of the younger players, when he is out one night and runs into his former flame, Victoria who is being harassed by a jerk. He intercedes the plans to leave, then watches the same guy follow her into the ladies bathroom where he interrupts a would be traumatic event. Jordan takes Victoria home and sees a young boy and worries that he could be his. When he seeks Victoria out they clear up many misunderstandings and realize the feelings and spark is still there. They decide to try again and many of the same issue resurface which are mostly Victoria’s controlling father and manipulative mother. Jordan doesn’t want to force her to choose, however he not willing to not be a priority to her. This is an incredible second chance at love and happiness, you will love this amazing couple.

Our thoughts on Jordan and Victoria's story. This was just an okay read for us. We found their characters to be likable, but we never fell in love with them.

We enjoy second-chance romances, and we are glad that this couple, who clearly loved one another when they were young, would still be together if not for fate and interference. Jordan was the one giving it his all to make things work, while Victoria never seemed to make the same commitment. But, to be fair, outside forces were working against them for round two once again.

To us, this story had a bit of the wicked stepmother feel to it without the wicked stepmother. For us, the story was too boring for our taste as we kept picking it up and putting it down; the story never engaged our emotions.

We can't love them all, and that is okay. There were parts that we did enjoy, like Victoria's devotion to her family and nephew. Jordan wants to rekindle what was lost. Preservation, protecting himself, and all he has built. The support from Jordan teammates and the coach was awesome.

A heartfelt and emotional reunion of first loves! I always adore heading back to Lauderdale to visit the Knights hockey team. We’ve been through a lot with this group of teammates and the camaraderie and love between them and the wives and girlfriends they’ve accumulated throughout the series is always endearing to be a part of. Jordan is packing a lot of drama as he finally returns to the team after a scandal sent him back down to the minors for awhile. When fate has him crossing paths with the one that got away, it makes for a drama filled reunion with all the feels. I loved them together and loved their reconnection, even though her constant catering to her parents manipulation was off-putting. The characters bring a lot of depth to the plot as they delve into the past and learn to forgive each other as well as themselves. I really enjoyed their story! I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone who loves an action packed hockey romance with lots of heart and humor as one player after another ends his carousing ways when his soulmate crosses his path.

A long time coming…

Jordan and Victoria have waiting a very long time to find their happily ever after, and four years earlier no one would imagine they ever would have…at least not with each other. The thing is sometimes when things don’t work out it isn’t from a lack of love, and it seems that the way it was for this couple. Being young when they were together the first time, Jordan and Victoria made mistakes, now they are still fairly young, but 4 years makes a big difference. Jordan has worked his way back to the Lauderdale Knights and grown into the young man he was always capable of being….and Victoria has made some big changes in her life that has kept her busy, but also made her realize what she wants her future to truly look like. These two still have a lot of obstacles to overcome but the love, compassion, respect and passion these two share will have readers head over heels for them from start to finish!

Four years earlier Jordan found himself in a difficult situation both personally and professionally when he and his girlfriend Victoria were torn apart. Since then, he has tried to overcome his first and only love while rehabilitating his hockey career. The last person he expected to see again was Victoria or that there was a lot he doesn’t know about the situation.

During the time that she and Jordan have been apart she has tried to build a future for herself even if that meant that Jordan wasn’t part of that. Seeing him again brings back all the feelings they have always had for each other, but will this be their second chance or are they destined for heartbreak once again?

This is an emotional and heartwarming story about two people who have always belonged together and find their way back to each other. Jordan was supportive as he gives Victoria the strength to go after what she wants and deserves.

This really was a rollercoaster ride of emotions as both lead characters went through a lot that was really heartwrenching but also had a sense of hope which made it relatable. I like the spark between Victoria & Jordan but also how the author told the story.

Victoria & Jordan are back in the same town but there are still so many scars from the past that they need to overcome. Even after just one conversation, there is so much that both are trying to discover but there's still a lot of love between them, even with the obstacles around them. As they are slowly rebuilding their relationship, there's still a lot of outside noise trying to still break them apart but it seems that both are trying really hard this time to make it work. Will they have their second chance in the end?...

Victoria and Jordan

Four years ago, Victoria and Jordan were teenagers in love. An unplanned pregnancy and a car accident changed everything and tore them apart. after the loss of the baby. They went no contact, but they never stopped, loving or wanting each other. Four years later Jordan walks into a bar and sees Victoria being hassled by a drunken man and he comes to her rescue. as time goes on they get to talk about what happened all those years ago. They had never had closure and they realize the spark is still there between them. however, Victoria’s parents still dislike Jordan and do not want him in her life. this story shows the love that never went away and how it unfolds into a more mature and lasting love the second time around. great story I’m sorry to see the series end but I can’t wait for the next series.

A sweet story about maturing and finding your place in the world. Wild Shot is a young love gone wrong second chance story proving that communication is key. Jordan and Victoria went through a lot as an 18 year old senior in high school and a 19 year old NHL rookie when her father steps in and tears them apart. Four years later, Jordan is in the right place at the right time to save Victoria, throwing them into each other’s orbit…again. Victoria has to find her place in the her own family, in love, and the rest of her life.

Wild Shot is an easy read. The bad news is, it’s the last book in the Knight’s series. The good news is, you don’t have to read the entire series to enjoy it although I’d highly suggest it.

I loved Victoria and Jordan’s story. I was a little heartbroken for them while reading their backstory. They clearly were two teenagers that loved each other very much that we were manipulated and forced to split up.

But evidently life meant them for one another, and a chance encounter years later gives them an opportunity to try again, when they are older, wiser and stronger. They still have a battle on their hands, and most people around them seem to be against them.

So they must take the lessons they have learned and communicate and fight for their relationship.
I really enjoyed this one and I was so happy they got their second chance and they did not waste it.

I have received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

I loved Jordyn and Victoria’s story! They were together when they were seventeen and eighteen. They were each other’s everything, but they were torn apart. It just about destroyed Jordan’s life. He was sent down to the minor league team. Four years later he’s back with the knights. He runs into Victoria in a bar. He rescues her from unwanted attention. Slowly they talk and find out what happened in the past isn’t what they thought. Victoria has very controlling parents. They are going to have to move slowly with their new relationship. She just needs to finish her last year of college so she can move on with her life. Will they make their new relationship work or will her parents interfere? I love the Lauderdale Knights series! I can’t wait to see what Kat gives us next!

After nearly losing everything, he has no choice but to work his way back to the top. Never wanting to go back he focuses on always doing his best. Now he has the life that he wanted, all but one thing.
She lost so much more than just the love of her life. The pain, the hurt, the agony that she went through. All she wanted was to follow her dreams, but life had other plans. Now, she is just barely living.
One night, and a drunk guy brings both of their worlds slamming back together. Was it all a lie. Did she keep the biggest secret from him? Could he possibly still feel something for her?
They have a lot to work through and so much more to lose. Is a second chance at love worth losing everything, again.

Wild Shot is Victoria and Jordan’s second chance romance and it’s book ten in the Lauderdale Knights Series. I loved everything about this beautifully written journey from the main characters to the camaraderie the Knights share.
Victoria and Jordan were teenage sweethearts but her controlling father pulled them apart by threatening Jordan with all sorts of career ending legal action. Jordan should have been enjoying the high life playing in the NHL but instead he was pushed down to the minors. Fast forward four years to today and he is back playing for the Knights when he comes across Victoria being threatened in a bar. He knows he should walk away but his heart won’t let him so will this time around be any different and will her father allow her to be with the man she loves……….

This is the kind of sports romance series I love – with this being the tenth romance, it's one I can live in for days where the characters become friends and the fictional world feels like home.

Finally, Jordan Palmer gets his shot, and it’s a second chance romance to end all second chances. He and Victoria Denali were too young the first time around, with too many heartaches, big feelings, and outside Interference that they didn’t know how to navigate. Now, nothing but they themselves can keep separate them.

If you love a good second chance romance with a sports setting and plenty of heat and heart, here’s your next great read. From the close teammate dynamics to healing the past, this one has everything that we love in the perfect reading escape.

Jason and Victoria, a nice second chance story that is filled with loads on drama. Young love that was torn apart by a very crappy circumstance and a bunch of miscommunication. Jason ends up saving Victoria one night and realizes that he needs to get his feelings off his chest in order to move on. The two of them talk and one thing leads to another, and they decide that maybe they should try again. But they let others influence their decision before, will they be able to stand up to them now?

This was an ok story. I really enjoyed all the side characters; they added that whole found family dynamic when it came to Jason. Victoria's family on the other hand, need a throat punch. We get some nice drama and some ok naughty bits. I give this 4 stars.

Jordan and Victoria had quite the history and it's easy to see why both of them would have animosity towards the other in the present. It's only when the take the time to really talk about what happened in the past that they realize that animosity shouldn't have been aimed at the other. Jordon seemed to realize faster who it should have been aimed and later in the book, he had to draw a line in the sand. It was harsh, but it needed to be done. I'm glad that Victoria got the advice she did and her actions after. It made a path for these two to find the HEA they had been chasing for so long.

This is a true second chance romance!Jordan and Victoria were high school sweethearts, until events drove them apart and brought distress and loss into their lives. Meeting again after four years just proves to them that their bond is as strong as ever, but now tempered by maturity and experience. Their separation has been hard on both of them, made worse by the loss they experienced and the separation and complete lack of communication that followed.
This is such a lovely romance. I loved following Jordan and Victoria as they found each other again. Victoria has added pressure from family, particularly her overbearing father, but love will out! The story is well paced, so sweet, and kept me glued to page urging on this sweet couple to their much deserved HEA. 💖💖💖💖
