A DEVASTATING BETRAYAL.

They were best friends before they were everything.

Jade Anderson has loved Devon Locke since the day he hauled her out of the background and kissed her at eighteen. A decade later, their marriage is solid—until it isn’t. Jade wants a baby. Devon wants one more year, one more win, one more chance to prove he can build the life he promised.

New York should have been his breakthrough. Instead, one humiliating run-in with his fitness idol and an old classmate with a crush shatter the night—and Jade’s trust. A video call, a hotel bathroom, a robe in the frame.

Now the vows they wrote by hand feel like lies written in ink. Jade is drowning in the kind of heartbreak that destroys you; Devon is a good man facing the ugliest truth: he didn’t want another woman—he wanted another version of himself.

Told in a raw, addictive Then/Now structure, this is a love story on the edge: the girl who never felt “enough,” the boy who wanted to be “more,” and the marriage that will either break for good…or be rebuilt from the rubble. soon!

This was an annoying read that I wish I didn't let curiosity get to me because all I did was waste a few brain cells of mine.

The hero is so stinking stupid I can't even finish this.

"God, I'm an idiot." Yes, you are.

The H has gone to New York for a seminar and to meet his hero. On his and the h's anniversary. He's so gobsmacked when he meets his man crush he can't put two words together. The man crush sees the evil OW and vaguely warns the hero. H talks to the evil OW that bullied his wife in high school as she chased him. She tells him she and the man crush dated, and he was abusive and stalked her etc. He buys it because he is not just gullible, he's stupid.

He drinks like a fish, passes out and you've read the reviews.

The next shoe that dropped is the evil OW starts texting him, and he wants her to stop. What should he do??? Block her numbskull! He finally does, but Geez!

Honestly, from the start he’s outright stupid with poor decision making skills. It gets better, but the pacing of the story is off, and takes too long for him to snap out of his stupidity stupor. And it took way too long to get rid of the crazy OW.

Repetitive

H kept making the same mistake over and over showing he’s an irredeemable character but of course the chubby insecure h accepts it and rug sweeps it all cause she has no self esteem. The H does no groveling either. Just sad and pathetic characters. Had to force myself to finish it

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Shattered Vows is the kind of book that doesn’t just tug at your heart, it squeezes it until you’re not sure it’ll ever feel the same again.

This isn’t a story about falling in love. It’s about what happens after when real life, insecurities, and quiet disappointments start to crack something that once felt unbreakable.

Jade and Devon’s relationship feels deeply rooted from the start. Best friends turned lovers, built on years of history, inside jokes, and shared dreams. You believe in which makes the unraveling hurt that much more.

And when it breaks? It doesn’t explode it fractures.

That moment the video call, the glimpse that shouldn’t have been there it’s not just betrayal, it’s devastation. The kind that makes you question everything that came before it. Were the vows real? Was the love enough? Or was it all just something that couldn’t survive reality?

What makes this story stand out is how honest it feels. Devon isn’t written as a villain, and somehow that makes it worse. His mistake isn’t rooted in love for someone else, but in his own insecurities, his need to become more. And that truth? It cuts deep.

Jade’s pain is just as powerful. That quiet, lingering fear of not being “enough” is something that seeps into every part of her healing process. Watching her navigate that kind of heartbreak without losing herself completely is both heartbreaking and quietly empowering.

The Then/Now structure works beautifully, layering the sweetness of what they were with the harsh reality of what they’ve become. It keeps you emotionally off-balance in the best (and worst) way.

This book was a quick, emotional, and anxiety inducing, read. It had that Lifetime Movie Network good good, in it. And I was SAT 🤏🏾😌🍿.

To start, there is cheating. It was a kiss. And, YES. That is still cheating. There were times I wanted to slap Devon’s mouth to the back of his head… BUT Throughout the whole story, I knew and felt that this man loved Jade. He made multiple missteps bc he was terrified of losing Jade… and NO that doesn’t make any of his behavior ok. But I can empathize. He was definitely TSTL at times tho 🤦🏾‍♀️😅.

Now, Jade 🥺… I related to her on a soul deep level. The insecurities. The keeping the trauma from the bullying, to herself bc deep down she felt that Mila was right and that she was worthless. I have felt that way, SO many times in my life. I honestly wanted to give her a big hug.

Onto the OW, Alex Forrest… oops! I mean MILA. She was one thirsty, delulu heaux. Like, someone get this heifer a glass of water bc the bitch is dehydrated 😭.

Mila’s metawhorephosis from basic bitch suffering from PickMeitis- to a hybrid mix of Hedy Carlson, Alex Forrest, with a dash of Peyton Flanders… was seamless. I can’t even tell you how many times I uttered, “this bitch crazy”, under my breath. Example: ⬇️

Mila: “DON’T IGNORE ME, DEV!”
Alex Forrest: “I’m not gonna be IGNORED, Dan.”
Me: “This bitch crazy 😳.”

I honestly did not expect the story to go the way that it did. I went in blind, and I’m glad that I did. Bc it made Adrian Forrester’s… crap! I mean MILA’S descent into absolute madness, hit harder. That, on top of Jade’s growth and Devon’s redemption- I really enjoyed it. And in the end, I was very happy with Devon and Jade’s HEA.

5/5⭐️

This book absolutely wrecked me in the best way 😭💔

Shattered Vows had my heart in a chokehold from start to finish. The angst? IMMACULATE. The emotional damage? Top tier. I swear my chest physically hurt for the FMC , everything she went through, the pain, the betrayal… it was just one hit after another and I felt every single second of it.

But THAT’S what made it so addicting. The tension, the heartbreak, the slow unraveling of everything… and then watching it all come back together?? I was hooked.

And listen… when Devon gets home and has to come clean oh boy is he in the dog house and the groveling begins! I honestly love when a MMC is so in love with his wife he’ll do absolutely anything for her !

The HEA felt so deserved after everything they went through, and I was honestly so relieved they got their ending because wow… they earned it.

If you love emotional, angsty romances that rip your heart out and then slowly piece it back together this is 100% your book.

A grown ass married man going to a hotel room (drunk 😒) with a woman who he knows his wife doesn’t like. What did he think would happen in that room? They’d braid each other’s hair? Then he proceeds to lie over and over again even as his wife begs him for the truth. But wait… to redeem him we have to vilify a woman… oh and throw in some therapy for good measure 🙄

Devon may not have intended to kiss Mila but he consciously chose to lie after the fact and that’s what creams my corn 😒 oh I know that Mila was crazy but Devon had his dick in his wife and still chose to lie.

Also there was no grovel. Jade bore the majority of the consequences for HIS actions. They were just thrown together because Mila was seriously off her rocker and that was the resolution. Depressing 😪

I was hoping for some real angst style cheating, but for me, it was barely a betrayal. The first person POV disappointed me with missed opportunities to make feel the gut wrenching moments the OW took advantage of the H. Don’t worry, it was a PG rated issue, and nothing big happened.
On to find my next angst ….. unfortunately that means doing a re-read of books written many years ago.

FMC: insecure about her weight, constantly complaining about it but in reality does nothing to fix it. She and the H are high school sweethearts. She was getting bullied by the OW when in school but the MMC apparently knew nothing about it (? How, they were together ?).

MMC: he wants to develop in his career and is obsessed with a podcast guy. He cheated (a kiss) on the FMC and then he kept lying and lying and lying. I do t remember if the book ends with the FMC still not knowing that he slept on the same bed with the naked OW. He kept telling her he fell asleep while sitting in the armchair.

This was as “meh” as the previous book I’ve read from this author.

It was an ok story, very predictable and mild.
The characters were sickening and sweet, too sweet even. The MMC has a golden retriever vide (nice, soft, naive and gullible) and lets his pride and ego get himself into a bad situation and he cowardly lied about to his wife because he’s too immature to confess he puts himself in a bad situation.
The FMC is plus size and with self conscious issue. She isn’t confident in her body and let the OW’s drama (who also happened to be her high school bully) get under her skin.
The stalking and harassment was well described and the story line made sense.
I just didn’t really like the MMC and it made the story predictable and boring at times. There was a lot of repetitive dialogue and arguments.
Not as good as the first book.

I DNF'D at 58%. I really tried to keep going, but the characters were just not it for me. I couldn't stand the FMC. As the book went on, it was less about her anger and more about her insecurities. Like girl, please make him suffer for what he did. I wanted her to keep the same energy she had when she first found out he cheated. And the MMC saying it was just a kiss made me want to throttle him.

Detailed spoilers/trigger warnings (if any) and final thoughts can be found below. There is a warning right before the spoiler and trigger section so you have the choice to proceed or stop reading.

Summary: This story follows Jade and Devon. They are married but actually grew up together and were best friends before Devon made the move for more. The MMC has an opportunity to attend a work related conference that he has always wanted to go to but was something they couldn’t afford. This conference happens to be the same weekend of their anniversary. Initially the FMC pushes back against him going but after seeing his excitement, she relents.

Immediately after he arrives at the event, he runs into a former classmate, Mila, who happens to be the person that bullied the FMC in school, although Devon had no idea because Mila never acted anything but nice in his presence. They talk and hang out and end up having one to many drinks. Mila asks Devon to help her get to her room and he doesn’t think anything is wrong so he agrees, although again, he’s very intoxicated so decision making isn’t his strong suit right now. Now in Mila’s room, the plan was to leave but she ends up kissing him and he kisses her back and that’s the last thing he remembers before waking up in the chair in the room. Jade had been trying to reach him after receiving a phone call from the person he attended the conference with who told her Devon never showed up to their room.

Devon accepts the call from Jade not realizing it’s a FaceTime call and she immediately sees his surroundings and evidence of a female being in the room before Mila comes into view and the realization of everything becomes clear to Jade and she naturally becomes very upset, especially with the knowledge it was her high school bully.

Devon leaves the conference early to come home and try to make amends all the while, withholding all the details of what happened with him and Mila when he doesn’t tell Jade about the kiss. Jade continues to have a feeling something isn’t right. In the meantime Mila got Devon’s number and has started texting him which he deletes but one comes through when his phone is near Jade and she sees the message which is how she knows more happened that night than Devon disclosed.

This is the point in the story where Devon’s guilt over lying now becomes his desperate attempt to get Jade to forgive him which is made more difficult by the fact that Mila is becoming more unhinged when he refuses to engage with her. There are safety concerns with the situation but also things specifically targeting Jade. But she refuses to be that bullied girl Mila knew in school and confronts her while working on forgiving Devon.

⚠️SPOILERS/SPICE/DETAILED TRIGGERS⚠️

*The other woman in this one is off her rocker. She brings a ton of drama. Most in the current timeline but we learn a few things that happened in the past.
*The cheating is the kiss. Nothing else happened between Mila and Devon in spite of the story she is telling.
🌶️:2/5

Final thoughts: Overall, I enjoyed this book. The drama was very good and made for an entertaining read. My only issue was it being repetitive in some spots, certain thoughts being told over and over, etc. Otherwise if you like second chance and other woman drama this is a must read.

Slightly better.

**SPOILERS**

Jade and Devon are in love. Jade wants a baby but Devon says he wants to wait a little longer. Devon goes to a conference in NY and runs into Mila, she’s in the same fitness industry as him and they start talking. Jade never liked Mila because she was cruel to her and obviously had designs on Devon.

Devon wakes up and Mila is naked next to him! He freaks out. Mila admits they only kissed once and he pushed her away and fell asleep on the chair. Jade calls when he’s in the bathroom with Mila and she sees the bra and Mila in a bathrobe. She’s rightfully furious. She tells Devon to come home. He does. He tells her nothing happened. She tells him he shouldn’t have spent the night with Mila in any way. Then Mila starts to text Devon and Jade constantly. She implies that they had sex and that she’s going to tell Jade everything. Jade gets angry because Devon clearly lied to her. He said he was with a colleague when he was actually with Mila. He said nothing happened, but he did kiss Mila. Jade moves out temporarily. Then Mila escalates! Jade runs into Mila, Mila insults her and tells her she’s pregnant with Devon’s baby. Jade calls her out, tells her she’s lying. She tells Devon, they get a restraining order on Mila who is batshyte crazy! Mila goes to a Devon’s gym screaming that she’s pregnant with his baby and they’re connected. She threatens to kill herself, she threatens to kill Jade. Finally they find evidence that Nila has a long history of becoming obsessed with taken men and claiming she’s pregnant. She’s arrested and the threat is neutralized. Jade and Devon get back together and at the end of the book they learn they’re pregnant.

**THOUGHTS/OPINIONS**

This book is mildly better than the first book in the series because he didn’t actually have sex with the crazy psycho beyotch. Yes, he did do wrong things! He never should’ve gone to Mila’s hotel room. He never should’ve gotten drunk, and he must definitely never should’ve kissed the crazy woman…but thankfully he didn’t sleep with her. Devon was a coward. He lied to his wife. Told her nothing happened, then continued to try and gaslight her because he didn’t want her to know. Jade was strong. She confronted the crazy Mila, and she called Devon out on his lies. I just honestly wish she had moved on to a better man…a loyal man who would never think of cheating on her or lying to her. It’s sad that she allowed Devon back into her life. She had warned Devon about Mila, but Devon liked how Mila made him feel…it’s honestly disgusting. Again, glad there wasn’t active on page cheating, but I was unhappy with how the book ended. Jade deserved better than she got! And Devon didn’t grovel enough!!

This story completely avoids the real issue the kiss. You don’t just kiss someone “by accident,” drunk or not. There has to be a reason. Devon chose to spend time alone with Mila, watched her dance, entertained her, and kept lying to Jade about her even before anything physical happened. That already shows intent and poor boundaries.

If he truly respected his marriage, he wouldn’t have been in that situation in the first place especially knowing Jade disliked Mila. A loyal partner doesn’t hide meetings or build emotional closeness behind their spouse’s back.

Instead, the author shifts most of the blame onto Mila by making her seem unstable, which feels like an easy excuse. Yes, Mila’s actions were wrong, but Devon enabled the situation. Without his access, attention, and secrecy, things wouldn’t have escalated.

What’s more frustrating is the lack of accountability. Devon faces no real consequences, shows no proper remorse, and there’s no meaningful grovel or effort to rebuild trust. Jade forgives him too quickly without therapy, communication, or real healing. That’s not how trust works after betrayal.

There are also major inconsistencies. They talk about needing financial stability for children, yet later it’s revealed they were trying but couldn't get pregnant and suddenly Jade gets pregnant without proper explanation. At the same time, Devon is shown spending heavily on Mila and partying, which contradicts the financial concerns.

Jade’s character also feels underdeveloped. Her struggles with self-image are repeated, but there’s no real growth or action just constant self-criticism.

In the end, the story tries to present Devon as kind and naive, someone who “sees good in everyone,” but that doesn’t excuse his behavior. Being nice to another woman while she harms your wife is not kindness it’s betrayal.

The biggest problem is simple: the author never clearly explains why Devon kissed Mila. Was it attraction? Emotional weakness? Curiosity? Without that, the entire conflict feels unresolved.

Overall, the story lacks accountability, realistic consequences, and emotional depth. It feels rushed, inconsistent, and avoids answering the most important questions.

Wow! This one grabs a hold and doesn’t let up! Shattered Vows is LinzVonC’s newest story of betrayal. It is a standalone as the characters don’t carry over from Shattered Dreams. The betrayal is still devastating, though, and hits hard! Be warned, there is physical cheating, but that isn’t really the worst of the betrayal.

I loved Jade and really felt for her. She had so many of the insecurities that I think most women have over how we look. I loved that Devon accepted her how she is and didn’t try to put her on a diet or change her. It was an interesting dynamic with him being a personal trainer, but I almost think that her softness was part of what he loved about her.

I loved the initial friends to lovers aspect of this book. I am a sucker for friends growing up to fall in love. It made the betrayal that much worse, though. I never once doubted Devon’s love for Jade, but wow did he do everything wrong that he could between the gaslighting and lies. I think that was the worst part in many ways.

Mila was the quintessential mean girl with an added dash of crazy. The OW drama was strong with this one. I couldn’t stand her from the beginning and I cannot for the life of me figure out how Devon didn’t see how Mila was with Jade. The evidence was there. He just ignored it and that pretty much opened the door for her crazy to enter their world. I do blame him for all of it, yes Mila escalated the situation, but he opened the door for her.

I loved that Jade got her HEA with Devon, even if I wanted to scream at him at times. I have no doubt he will spend his life trying to be better and making it up to her, though, which I love for her!💜 This was a great book and I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

MMC is weak - OW takes over the entire plot at 50%

Honestly - this turned into a plot about a scorned crazy unhinged OW threatening the MMC and the MFC , his wife, getting caught in blowback as well

The thing is — Devon, the MMC, is responsible for the situation. He kissed the OW and spent a night in her room. (Nothing else). He was secretive and lied repeatedly to the MFC about it . My issue is that he really doesn’t grovel or anything — once his “secret” is out, the plot quickly shifts to the OW and her trickery and her going after the main couple . He repeatedly tells the MFC he will protect her and won’t let anyone else hurt her … in the midst of the OW really hurting her and him ignoring the fact that he was the sole reason for it (he hurt her too)

It should’ve been way more about Devon groveling and working on himself — and the MFC working on her insecurities alone. Them living apart but dating again , etc.

The MFC was tough as nails UNTIL they started in with the body insecurity for 50% of the book . Got old fast. She also forgives the MMC in a blink and you’ll miss it fashion (soooo weak)…. Like at first she’s hardcore not trusting him (valid) and then suddenly … she just switches in the same sentence to blaming the OW and absolving him smh

Then the ending … like suddenly MMC is ready for a baby now and they miraculously get pregnant ?? Like… ehh just didn’t seem authentic . (Of course it’s fiction so )

Ultimately this should’ve been about a marriage in trouble and how they work on it and improve —- learning about forgiveness —- learning about weaknesses and why the MMC even allowed himself to be in that situation with the OW…. But instead it turned into a plot about how to survive an insane OW and her destructive lies.

This is second book in this series. The books are standalone. It’s the similar trope that connects the books. These books delve into how a relationship handles cheating. This one took a very different direction than the first book. Jade and Devon Locke had been together since high school. Jade was not someone you would typically see with someone like Devon. Devon was a fitness trainer. Jade wrote books. In fact, she wrote a book about their relationship. It fit the friends to lovers trope perfectly. Devon had no problem making Jade feel like the most beautiful woman in his life. Though Jade had self-esteem issues, she tried to let it go when with Devon. Devon liked her exactly the way she was. She did not have to change herself for him. They worked well together.

It only took one work trip to turn their lives upside down. Devon went to a fitness conference on the couple’s anniversary. This conference could be his big break. Jade understood. She never doubted Devon and his unwavering loyalty to her until the morning of their anniversary. Devon’s mistake brought someone in their life that would be hard to get out. Mila Harris was Jade’s bully in high school. A bully that Devon did not know anything about. Mila could not understand why Devon wanted to be with Jade. Unfortunately, once a person like Mila comes into your life, it is hard to get her out. Devon has to face some hard truths and understand that he betrayed Jade’s trust. When the enemy turns out to be someone else, will these two come together to defeat it? This book will tear readers apart and put them back together again. I don’t usually like cheating, but I feel like this author gives readers a real story about what happens when a couple faces it.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this series and couldn't wait to go on another wild ride with Linzvonc through each and every one of my feelings.
The rich emotional descriptions on page one already had me certain that this story was going to tear me apart piece by piece. The rest of the first chapter confirmed it.
Reading Devon and Jade's experiences and interactions felt like a ticking time bomb that had me so freaking anxious about when it would explode and truly destroy everything. And even after the first bombshell detonated, there were still more hidden landmines to wade through. Would they be able to come back from this, or would the damage be entirely too great?
Then things took a very different turn than I was expecting, and I was on the edge of my seat to see how everything would play out. I felt so helpless for Devon and for Jade.
Watching Jade's determination not to be completely destroyed begin to simmer and then come to a full boil was brilliant, and I could feel that burn along with her with each passing chapter as she built her strength.
This story had such a beautiful ending too, and really embodied hope and strength in learning to love not just one another again, but oneself.

Wow! This one is something special! It shattered me in the best and worst ways all throughout this story.
It brings to light many moral limits that hopefully many won’t have to experience, but unfortunately, many actually do.
This is a story of what decisions we make when the one we love makes a choice that fractures the trust and confidence that we should have in our partners. While some may not think that certain actions are cheating, some might think any action or thought is wrong. This couple decides to try and work through the situation together and it is no way an easy road and they have many different ideas of how to handle it all. Through some hard truths and A LOT of work of themselves and each other as a couple, they work together to get through the mess of it all and the extra issues they never expected to encounter. After it is all said and done, they will either be stronger together or know that there is no coming back from it.
In real life, of course I would never condone cheating. However, in a story like this, it was an amazing, well thought out, sensitive, realistic and had plot elements I didn’t expect at all that elevated the story so much more. It does end in a HEA.
Please be aware of the TW and if you can, read this story.

No grovel since OW is delusional and not living in the same reality as everyone else. She was so OTT it was unbelievable…

Comeuppance for OW. She gets charged by the police. Doesn’t say for what so I assume for stalking? And since she had some threats via text I assume probs a felony for stalking with threats? Idk, doesn’t say anything else…

Not gonna lie the way the heroine talked about herself was very annoying. We are told multiple times how “fat” she is because of her belly rolls, thighs touching, belly touches leg when sitting etc. that it got to be too much. It did kinda confuse me how much she hated herself and called herself fat while the H is a personal trainer at a gym for his career. NOT saying the 2 don’t go together. Just wondering why that topic was never touched on. Like “I tried this and it wasn’t for me” would have sufficed. Just felt strange with the whole “poor me I’m so ugly” mentality but literally never saying anything but that. It gets to a point where I just get annoyed after the fifth time saying it. Like either own your rolls girl because I know you’re beautiful no matter what OR get up and try since your hubby does this for a living.

Wow I went Into this one knowing the controversial trope and still loved it. While I don’t agree with cheating at all, I did Really enjoy this story! I loved that love wins. Devon and jade loved each other so hard. They pushed for each others successes and truly loved each other from the start. Jade struggled with her self image for so long and Mila knew just the right buttons to push always. Devon loved Jade for who she was and how she made him feel. Nothing else mattered. He was blinded to Mila’s torment to his wife because Mila is a master manipulator and only allowed Devon to see what she wanted. While what happened should have never happened I did Feel bad for Devon a little because he was just caught in a bad situation trying to do the decent thing. However he could have shifted the narrative but his own fears and insecurities won over. Mila deserves everything she has coming to her that woman is vile. I did Love that throughout this story Jade began loving herself. It was an unfortunate circumstance but that woman is strong and didn’t back down. I loved That through all of this love and happiness prevailed. This story was a hard one but it was so good! The way these two ran towards the storm for their sunshine was beautiful to read. If you don’t enjoy cheating I do think you should still give this story a try because it is a great read.

Shattered Vows is the second book in the Shattered Hearts Series. All are standalone. I loved the first book and the second one just blew me away.

Jade and Devon have been best friends and sweethearts for years. Their love is pure. Unfortunately Devon messes up when he was out of town. Messed up with Jade’s high school bully (which he never knew she was like that). Mila is a mean girl with a dash of crazy in her. Actually more than a dash. She has always liked Devon. I love all the grovelling Devon did. He loves everything about Jade. Jade has some insecurities about herself which affected her self esteem. Devon loves her no matter what. Helps her through that.

I love how Linzvonc writes her stories. Bringing in mental health concerns. Self esteem and rising up to the challenge to get past it. This also happens in real life scenarios. Lots of thoughts goes into her books. Linzvonc is a brilliant author. Can’t wait for the next book in this series!!!

It was fine. I was here for the drama, the strong h, the dumb H, and the crazy OW. But the story felt incomplete. He cheated. He didn't almost cheat, he actually cheated. It was bad enough, though excusable, that he went away for a conference last minute, on his anniversary. But then he doesn't even do what he went there for. Which was to network. He catches up with an old high school classmate, that his wife does not like, and who had always had a crush on him. Alone. In a bar. Super inappropriate. Then the later stuff. It was never addressed as to WHY he did that. Why? Also, it was later minimized as not that bad because OW was over the top loo lah. So it was dropped. No. he was acting inappropriate with an OW, who his wife is uncomfortable with. Then he cheated. Then he lied. Repeatedly. Though all of those are mentioned repeatedly, we are never told why. He loves his wife. He is obssessed with her and has been for years. So WHY?

1.5 🌟

Not terribly written (in terms of writing style), nevertheless I’ve had to go low with this one. The reason? I’ve read the story a thousand times before, and whilst I appreciate fiction for what it is, this felt too far fetched for what it was supposed to be (marriage in trouble/cheating trope). I’ve actually read crazy MC books that felt more believable.

The villain was just… bizarre. The whole thing was, honestly. Hated the loose ends (the villain knowing how to contact the FMC’s fan base, get her number, etc)
I didn’t hate the M & F main characters, but I didn’t care about them much either. I was more invested in getting to the end for the sake of it, really.

So yeah… overall, boring.

Feeling the pathos and heart

This book is sooo good. The characters are so well written, the OW drama is perfect for this story.
Jade & Dev have an amazing connection. They have been in love their whole lives and the very evil and unhinged OW throws a very big spanner in the works.
For a lot of Marriage in Trouble stories, the H makes a very big mistake and it is always really hard as a reader to find he deserves forgiveness or the FMC. In this story, Dev does screw up and lies about it. But I was able to forgive him pretty quickly and was truly rooting for Jade to take him back and for both of them to fight for each other.
Reviews can be so hard sometime, as you want to deep dive but also not spoil anything.
I 100% recommend this book and the series.

Ok

This was an ok read. I felt the title was a bit intense for what actually happened. Some timeline issues but nothing major. I think the confrontation on his part didn't make sense and wasn't as impactful as it could have been. I did get nervous when the bar guy was introduced to the story but was relieved the author did not have her seek validation with him. I hate when authors do that and make women devalue themselves that way, as if that is the only way to heal and value themselves. Wasn't sure what the whole keeping his number was about. I kept waiting for something to happen, like he was paid to set Jade up by Mila, or Devon finds the phone number. But...nothing
Just a character passing through.

SO GOOD!

I cried! I yelled and I cheered and then I had happy tears! This one was soo good! I connected with Jade so much, with body insecurities and bullying man I loved her so much, she was so strong and she want going to let NOBODY bring her down.

Devon, oh my sweet baby Devon, how I wanted to strangle him and give him a hug at the same time. I mostly wanted to strangle him (in the beginning) but I get why he reacted the way he did, he was scared, a coward! But I’m glad he got some senses knocked into him!

And she (who is not worthy to be named) got the karma she deserved!

All in all, I LOVED IT!!!
