Halloween is in full swing at the Valewood Resort, and Eden Brooks is conjuring up the perfect spooky season a haunted house tour filled with ghostly illusions, creepy corridors, and just the right amount of fright. As the resort’s PR manager, Eden is determined to make this event a scream... for all the right reasons.
But when someone turns up dead inside the haunted house, the festivities quickly turn into a nightmare. Was it a tragic accident or something far more sinister?
With whispers of real ghosts circulating through the resort and tensions rising among the guests, Eden must rely on her feline sleuths and her sharp instincts to uncover the truth. Because in a house full of secrets, even the dead don’t always stay silent.
I was disappointed in this one. The mystery took precedence over the clowder cats. They were mostly an afterthought. I much prefer stories about the cats than how Eden's grand plans get spoiled every time by a murder. If I lived near that place, I would never attend one of those special events. Couldn't one of them, just for once, be a rousing success with some other kind of mystery than a murder? And could we please see more of the clowder? I realize Jasper and the deaf kitten came from the clowder and are technically still part of it, I want to know more about the cats living rough. I also want to know just how the deaf cat is communicating.
I love the Clowder Cats Mysteries and each of the characters. I have six cats and we just took in a kitten whose mother was hit by a car. He’s a tiny little boy and but is getting to know the other cats yet he is afraid of the dog. We have a big cat, Leo, and he plays with him and makes sure the others are nice. I love all the characters and their friendships. I didn’t know who the killer was until the end. It seems some of the workers weren’t very nice and many could be a suspect. I also like the strong relationships with the main characters. Courtney is a great writer and gets even better with her next book.
Good book in a fun series. Eden works to support a coworker accused of murder. The twist is that it's Penny. A women who has not hidden her dislike for Eden almost from their first encounter. Jasper helps Eden solve the mystery. There are a few editing issues. Some quite blatant, like a word that has been stricken and what seemed to be a missing sentence. I was glad to see the next book is a mystery based on a jewelry theft instead of a murder.
I definitely love this series and hope it will continue on. I'm hoping these two will fall deeply in love the same way Hannah and Ben did and Anastasia will give him a crystal so he can also understand the cats. I'm hoping Penny will recover and come back to the resort a changed, much nicer person. Can't wait for the next book to come out!!!!!!! Not a long wait, I hope!!!!!!
Love this story in the clowder series It is a great and intriguing story and I love the interleaving of the kitty Jasper. I don’t want to give too much information and I love how Eden goes about solving the mystery. Well, the told and well woven bravo another great story.
This was filled with love and wonder and enchantment as all of your stories have been. Thank you for sharing your talented heart with everyone who is lucky enough to have you in their life. I am blessed to have found you. Keep up the good work.
I LOVE this series, but now I'm sad because I've caught up with the author. I hope a new book will release soon! Eden is a much better person than me, I would not have helped Penny. The cats were wonderful as always!
Another great book in this series. The mysteries are intriguing and different. The characters, especially the cats, are terrific. NOTE: Went to get next book in the series and it's not on KU. Price is $12.99! Not going to get it.
