Squirrels should never travel alone.

Three months ago, Deneb Hartman lost his cousin. They were in a clearing, in their squirrel forms, when wolves attacked them. His cousin never made it back, and Deneb’s world shattered. He never did well on his own, and he’s been traveling aimlessly ever since.

Nicodemus Zervas owns a thrift shop in Doson. He’s a vampire surrounded by humans unaware of the supernatural world, and it’s lonely. For a year, he had a squirrel shifter working for him, but now he’s moved on and left Nicodemus behind. But then one day, there is a naked man jumping out of his recycling dumpster. When Nicodemus runs after him, all he can find is a squirrel.

Deneb found a nice little forest behind a thrift store to hang out in. Had he known people stayed in the building overnight, he wouldn’t have shifted where he could be seen. Nicodemus is almost sure the naked man and the squirrel are the same, but how to get him to show himself to Nicodemus? Bribe him with macadamia nuts?

This paranormal gay romance is sure sure appeal to fans of Holly Day!

Squirrel Found has a bittersweet beginning. It’s sweet, because, well, it’s squirrels! In Holly Day's universe squirrel shifters are sweet, with terrible memories (Deneb and the first bag of macadamias is a perfect example), and just plain quirky.

However, the sweet is tinged with sadness as Nicodemus misses his previous squirrel friend, and even more is Daneb's palpable grief over his cousin Shun. As the story develops though, the sweet takes over, and at one specific point I found myself with happy tears in my eyes.

To fully understand and appreciate the squirrel nature, I'd strongly recommend reading the series in order for ultimate experience. Now is the perfect time to start as the series is now complete.

Squirrel Found is the last book in this cute and quirky series, and what a perfect ending it is!

The perfect ending to a sweet, funny, and fun series

I want to be mad that this series is over. It's been a favourite and I always loved how Holly could make characters who could almost seem comical/frustrating in their scatteredness so genuine. It's so easy for characters with quirks like Holly's squirrel shifters to end up in the role of comic relief only (how many times has a 'quirky' divergent character become some kind of caricature in books?) but she made her squirrel shifters people beyond their eccentricities. Yes, they were squirrel shifters and therefore nuts obsessed, slightly scatterbrained and sometimes more hyper than a highly caffeinated toddler, but that wasn't all they were - it was just something that was part of them. Anyway, needless to say I am sad that it's ending but I cannot have imagined a better send off to a series I've loved so much than Deneb and Nicodemus. Maybe because you could feel their sadness so acutely in the beginning but were able to see it transform into something truly lovely as they learnt each other. Maybe it was the way Nicodemus was so willing to make the effort to get to know Deneb and show that Deneb could trust him. But this felt like the perfect ending, the perfect summation for what this series meant to me: a little silliness, a lot of nuts, and a whole lots of love and acceptance.

This is another great book in this squirrel series. This is the story of Deneb Hartman and Nicodemus Zervas. We were introduced to these characters in the previous book and it is finally their time to shine. Deneb, a red squirrel shifter, is sad and alone. Believing his cousin is dead, he has been drifting along aimlessly. He finally ends up in the woods behind a thrift store. He is unexpectedly seen while naked and trying to find clothes in a dumpster. Nicodemus is a vampire and has been alone for many years. He was incorporated into the local supernatural community when he befriended a squirrel shifter Raaz. He enjoyed working with him and is glad to see he has moved on in life. But he misses him. When the ladies he protects let him know about the "naked man" out back, Nico begins to investigate. Thanks to his friendship with Raaz, he knows a thing or two about squirrel shifters. This is their story. The book is well written and easy to read. I really enjoyed it. It was great to see the characters from earlier books make an appearance in this book as well. It is sad to think that this amazing series is over but this was a wonderful conclusion.

I can really say that I enjoyed this series and am sad to see it coming to an end with this book.

Like the others it could be read as a stand alone but in this case I'd say you definitely will enjoy it more if you have read the others or at least Squirrel Blue.

I was so excited when I realised that this book was about Deneb since he was already mentioned in Squirrel Blue where you feared the worst may have happened to him.

I loved the MCs, both Nicodemus and Deneb bring something unique to the table and are interesting and easy to root for.
I enjoyed reading their story and was so happy when they found love with each other.

Wonderful side-characters enriched the story and the fact that we get to see the couples from the other books again made me very happy. I love those cameos and here it gave depth to the story as well as a connection to the previous stories. I really liked this 'reunion' of them all very much.

A well written enjoyable and entertaining read I won't tell you more about since I don't want to spoil it for you.
Just give it a try and enjoy as well as laugh about the squirrel shifter with his scatterbrains and therefore hunting for his 'lost' nuts.

This is my honest opinion that I'm leaving voluntary even having read a readers copy.

Squirrel Found was such a sweet, quirky, and surprisingly emotional read, and honestly the perfect ending to this series. 🐿️❤️

The beginning tugged at my heartstrings. Deneb’s grief over losing his cousin was so palpable, and it made me want to wrap him up in the biggest hug. He’s scattered and forgetful in that adorable squirrel way, but under it all is a very real loneliness that hit me hard. Enter Nicodemus, the lonely vampire thrift shop owner who’s also missing a squirrel friend of his own, and suddenly we have two broken souls who desperately need each other—even if one of them is hiding in the recycling dumpster.

The meet-cute? Absolutely hilarious and tender at the same time. Only Holly Day could pull off a naked man, a squirrel, and macadamia nuts as the setup for a romance. 😂 But beneath the humor, there’s so much heart. Watching Deneb slowly trust Nicodemus, and Nicodemus learn how to care for someone so different from himself, was just beautiful. Their emotional growth together felt real and earned, and by the end I had happy tears. Bittersweet, quirky, heartfelt, and utterly charming—Squirrel Found is everything I love about Holly Day’s world.

Nicodemus is a vampire who runs a women's shelter through his thrift store Get It and Get Out.
He's very stoic and quite the dapper dresser.
He takes his responsibility in caring for the women he protects very seriously.
Deneb is a squirrel shifter who was separated from his cousin Shun in the previous book.
He's heartbroken because he believes it's his fault he's dead.
He ends up in the town where there are wolf and squirrel shiters who are also mates.
Nicodemus finds out Deneb is hiding in the forest and that he's a shifter.
As soon as they actually meet there's an instant connection between them.
Once nut distracted Deneb settles he realizes Nicodemus is his mate.
I loved the humorous interactions between them and getting to know the protected women better was wonderful.
Deneb and his cousin Shun are reunited but not without a hitch, i.e. the wolves not thinking things through as per usual.
There is a bit of danger as one of the women is targeted and they're able to end the threat permanently but not without outing themselves and the supernatural world to the women who thankfully take it all in stride.

A lovely farewell to a quirky and heartwarming series

Any series that stars squirrel shifters has to be quirky and Holly has perfectly captured the essence of squirrels throughout the five books, but she's also shown the darker side of their lives. Squirrels have a long list of predators they need to be constantly aware of and that's mentioned here but, in HollyLand, her sweet squirrels also have to constantly look over their shoulders for Big Bad Wolf shifters who fancy a squirrel snack.
Denab and Nicodemus have already appeared in the previous book and now we get to enjoy time with them properly, watching them be entranced with each other while not realising that they are fated mates.
Their story includes a mysterious prowler (who isn't a naked squirrel shifter!), a kind vampire who takes in and protects women from whatever danger they're running from, a heartbroken squirrel grieving his cousin, and a scene which includes all the squirrels and their mates. What more could you need for a group HEA?

🌰Dumpster diver meets his match🐿

This was a fun ride of an MM paranormal romance, with a stranger getting caught roaming around outside the local thrift shop in the altogether and a squirrel with an obsession for caching nuts that just can't be stopped. And to know they're the same guy! The vampire who runs the thrift shop finds himself intrigued and amused while simultaneously falling for a nervous shifter on the run and looking for a safe place to settle. There's a touch of danger and a bit of heat rounding out the story. And it all connects to Day's previous squirrel shifter stories. I've got my own scurry of squirrels hanging around my oak and I love the endearing way the author characterizes the squirrel's fears and quirks. And Nicodemus the vampire is such a protector, not just of his man. Excellent close to the series.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

When I started reading Squirrel Found by Holly Day I knew it was the last in the Community series, which I will miss. I enjoyed that the book picked up characters who were minor characters or only mentioned in previous books. As with many of Holly’s books there is a meet-cute between Deneb the eponymous squirrel and Nicodemus a vampire store keeper. I’m not sure if this is the most unusual pairing in the series, but it is in the running. For both characters it is learning to trust someone so different from themselves that provides their emotional growth. And even though there have been at least four other squirrel books set in the same locale, this book finds new places and people to keep everything interesting. Of course most of the important characters from the previous books make an appearance so there are few questions left unanswered. Cutest story!

This story makes me so happy. It's got me happy crying. Omg I'm so happy Deneb and Shun found each other again. I love that Nicodemus is a strong scary vampire but he's soft and sweet for Deneb. I love that Deneb is proud of his tail and that he uses it to signal danger, and he always misplaces his nuts. His purrs and his chittering, omg he's so adorable. And he's funny. I love reading about him and the girls. It's cool that they learned about the supernatural. I love Nicodemus for keeping them safe. This is the cutest story with the best happy ending. I hope there will be more to come in this series. I could never get tired of squirrel shenanigans.

Wonderful story and it is a great finally for all of the squirrels and their adventures. I absolutely loved all of the different pairings of squirrels and wolves and even a vampire just finished the family they all were looking for. Deneb is a red squirrel shifter and I love how strong he was, small but mighty and had a heart of gold. Then we have Nicodemus who is a Vampire and has always kept himself away from everyone except for the women he keeps safe. I definitely recommend this book to everyone who loves mm shifter romance stories especially with squirrels.

I so enjoyed reading Nicodemus getting a HEA!! Even better it was a Squirrell Shifter..I just enjoyed reading about how they hide the nuts, their trials, hurts, and comfort from their mates. Deneb finding his home and found family even better. If your looking for a delightful, sweet and amazing book with charming charming, witty banter, found family, little drama, and feel good vibes… grab this read and some hot chocolate and snuggle up for a cozy time!!

After we found out about Deneb in the last book, I really wanted to know how things worked out for him. I enjoyed the story. They aren't super deep and meaningful, but a good bit of escapism and it's nice to read something where the good and bad guys all get what they deserve.

Holly Day writes the quirkiest of stories. I'm so pleased that Nicodemus found his mate. He's such a kind vampire, and so lonely. Deneb, the squirrel shifter, hates to be alone. He recently lost Shun, his squirrel cousin, and his grief is palpable. These two really are a match made in heaven! Shenanigans ensue, and what follows is an emotional read, fun, with a hint of sadness. I've been following this wonderful series since the start, and it has given me a good sense of what it's like to be a squirrel! The ending was so lovely, the whole gang got together and their happiness shouts from the page. Lovely ending to the series.

Deneb and Nico were just too cute. They were indeed quite the pair. A vampire and a squirrel. They way these two meet is a wild story, but an enjoyable journey.

Loved this series so I’m sad to see it end but I know it’s a series I will re-read as a comfort read. I’m glad Nico found his mate.

I’d like a Christmas coda!
