RICHTIG GEMOCHT!!!!
Char meets Dave at her best friend Ellie's wedding. The chemistry was instantaneous and the sparks fly. Char sneaks out the next morning with no plans to ever see him again. Char's past sneaks up on her and when Dave sees Char again, she's no longer the vibrant woman from the wedding. Char distances herself from her friends and family hoping to save them from her secrets, but Dave feels the strongest of pulls toward Char and wants to do nothing but protect her from whatever has her worried and scared.
Overall, I'd give this book 3. It was a cute story between Char and Dave, it didn't have the depth that I like, but it was an easy read. I absolutely loved the representation of strong female bonds (friendships and parental figures) throughout this book!!
*One night stand, insta-lust *Witness protection *Romance suspense
I loved this romance so much. I picked it up planning to read a few chapters, and suddenly I was finishing the whole thing in one sitting. It’s the perfect cozy, suspense laced holiday read, snow, small-town charm, a broody firefighter, and a heroine carrying far more than she lets anyone see.
The chemistry between Char and Dave hits instantly, but what really pulled me in was how layered they both are. Char is strong, hurting, and trying so hard to outrun her past. Dave is that quietly protective, low-key soft hero who notices everything, especially when something is off with her. Every time they were on the page together, I melted a little.
The suspense element is genuinely well done not too heavy, not too light, just enough tension to keep me turning the pages while still letting the romance breathe. And the spice is hot but never overwhelms the story. It’s balanced exactly the way I love in a romantic suspense novella.
This was heartfelt, fast paced, and full of that warm holiday magic I crave this time of year. A wonderful one-sitting read, and now I definitely want more from this series. Thanks to Hambright For the ARC.

Rating : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is the story of Charlene (Char) and Dave who meets at a wedding and ends up stuck together when a winter storm hits their small mountain town and completely shuts everything down.
A little insight on Char is that she’s super independent hence why she is very used to handling everything on her own. So the fact that it gets snowed in, she is now forced to slow down and actually sit with her feelings instead of brushing them off.
And then there’s Dave, who is a small town firefighter who swore not to fall for a woman but that is until Char shows up. The problem is, they both have emotional baggages that they are keeping a secret. 🤫
(3.7 Stars) Charlene lives and works in Candy Cane Key. When her friend asks her to go to her wedding she is both happy but nervous. She is hiding from her past but how long can you truly hide before it catches up to you? Dave aka Smoke isn’t thrilled of the idea of going to a wedding but it’s his friend’s so he reluctantly attends & that’s where he meets Char. When he goes to visit Char in Candy Cane later, can he get her to her face her past and find there can be a future with happiness? This is an emotional, slowly building story about past trauma and finding your way of healing. Told in first person and dual POV.
✦ 𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬 - • snowed-in romance • cinnamon roll firefighter hero • survivor heroine • found family • romantic suspense • trauma + comfort • protective mmc • slow burn to full melt • holiday vibes
✦ 𝐌𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 - This story starts with a girl who has spent years only surviving. Char has carried the weight of fear and betrayal since she was a teenager and yet she still shows up every day fighting for joy. Her courage is so soft and real. When she ends up snowed in with Dave the sweetest most golden-hearted firefighter her life finally pauses long enough to feel what love actually looks like. The chemistry between them feels like warm blankets Dave is protective in the gentlest way. He sees Char’s scars and still calls her brave. He becomes her comfort place without ever rushing her. Their moments together had my heart melting nonstop. One thing I adored is how beautifully the book shows that family isn’t always blood. The mother-daughter relationship here is complicated painful and so emotional. It teaches that choosing yourself is strength. Some people break you and some people help you rebuild and those rebuilders deserve the name family. The story blends suspense healing and romance so smoothly. Every chapter feels like Char taking back pieces of her life. By the end she isn’t just loved she is free. Watching her go from scared girl to a woman who believes she deserves happiness was the best feeling. A cozy and hopeful winter romance with a hero who holds my heart gently and a heroine who finds hers again. I closed the book smiling because she finally gets everything she once believed she couldn’t have love safety and a future with fireworks. Thank you so much hambrightpr for the free ARC!
I went into Snowed In With You expecting cozy holiday vibes, and while there were parts I enjoyed, this one left me a little conflicted.
First of all… Char’s mother? Absolutely awful. Women who choose men over their children will never make sense to me, and that part of the story was hard to read. The prologue also had me pretty confused, and it took a while before I felt grounded in what was actually happening.
Char (aka Charlene… aka Kendal 👀) was an interesting character, though. Sycamore Mountain made me laugh, the wedding chaos was wild (who does four weddings in a day??), and Betty was basically a real-life fairy godmother, I loved her. Char’s friendship with Ellie was genuinely sweet. I also loved Liz and Margaret, another example of real-life fairy godmothers
Once we finally learn Char’s real story and that she’s in witness protection, things should have gotten intense… but for me, the reveal felt a bit underwhelming. I kept waiting for a bigger, more dramatic payoff, especially with the creepy rich guy and the tension around her past. When everything was finally explained, it felt rushed instead of explosive.
I did like Char and Dave together, they worked as a couple, but Dave moved fast, and the timeline jumps were confusing. The story would bounce months ahead without much warning, which pulled me out of it more than once.
Overall, this didn’t quite feel like a holiday romance to me, and I wish the mystery elements had landed harder. Still, there were moments of warmth, humor, and good character dynamics that kept me reading.
Not a bad read, just not the cozy, snowed-in romance I was hoping for.
This was such a fun read, and had me hooked from the very beginning. If you love romantic suspense, you will want to add this one to your tbr!
Charlene has been hiding from her past in the little town of Candy Cane Key since she was 17. She finally ventures out of town to attend her best friend’s wedding. During the road trip, she runs into a man that makes her hackles rise a couple of times. This continues to make her feel like she’s never going to be safe. Once she makes it to the wedding, she meets Dave. They have an instant connection and an amazing night together, but she takes off running the first chance she gets. She doesn’t want to risk anyone and bring them into her mess of a life. But once she’s back home, she feels someone watching her, sees a strange man across the street, and gets a threatening note left on her car. She decides to leave Candy Cane Key and return to Sycamore Mountain where her best friend and Dave are. I don’t want to say much more than that and spoil anything.
This book will keep you hooked. The suspense is gripping, and it has an amazing grand gesture at the end without a third act breakup! Thank you Hambright Pr for the arc!
Snowed In With You is a swoony holiday romance with a touch of suspense and cozy found-family charm. This was my first book by L.M. Fox, and even though it’s part of an interconnected series, it reads perfectly well as a standalone—though I’m now eager to dive into the rest of the Sycamore Mountain books. Fans of Catherine Cowels will appreciate the suspenseful threads woven through Char and Dave’s story, adding tension without overshadowing the romance. A few moments felt a bit rushed or edging toward insta-love, but it ultimately worked given the intensity of their first encounter and the circumstances that brought them together. Overall, it’s a heart-warming, fast-paced holiday read with just the right amount of excitement to keep the pages turning.
Char and Dave meet at their best friend’s wedding. They hit it off pretty fast, joking, flirting, and sharing looks. They have one amazing night, that was the deal. But sometimes deals are broken, and he can’t stop thinking about her; she can’t stop either.
They both have past baggage that is difficult to overcome. She is running from it, he is dealing with the aftermath. Might be part of what keeps them apart.
Layla outdid herself with this book. It’s such an extraordinary story, just the right amount of suspense and romance. Such an interesting storyline. I really didn’t want to put this book down, it was just super entertaining to read. Such a heartfelt story, that had me tearing up and biting my nails at the same time.
I absolutely adored this story! Who wouldn’t with so many happily ever afters for the characters?! Meeting Char and Dave along with so many more was so much fun. Learning to love and leave their lonely, scared pasts behind them, Char and Dave flourish together. Snowed in with You by LM Fox is a perfect winter romance.
Shout out to LM Fox for sending me this copy. I thoroughly loved it!
Smoke and Char are amazing 😍. this is such a well written story. I love that we get to see some characters from past stories, too. the true representation and support for depression was fantastic.
Snowed In With You by LM Fox was everything I want in a snowed in angsty romance, and then some. Set against the backdrop of a small town and centered around a firefighter hero, this story pulled me in from the very first page and never let go.
The premise alone hooked me: one unforgettable night during what feels like the longest wedding day ever, no names, no strings… and then she’s gone.
But what really makes this book shine is the angsty romance LM Fox writes so beautifully… full of emotion, longing, and that undeniable spark that lingers long after you close the book.
Charlene and Dave are the kind of characters you can’t help but fall for and root for from the start. Both are carrying emotional baggage, Dave, whose fear of repeating his parents’ painful divorce adds real depth to his character. And Char, her entire childhood and younger teen years were so hard to endure for her, but she was a fighter and got away!
Their connection is instant and intense, yet far from easy. The bumps in their path made their journey all the more satisfying.
I loved watching them slowly find their way back to each other, even when things felt messy, complicated, and uncertain. I loved the way he made her feel safe when she had never felt that way in her life. I loved how she didn’t have the feeling of looking over her shoulder because she knew he would protect her with his own life.
There’s also an element of suspense woven into the story that kept me turning pages, wondering what Charlene was hiding and how it would all unravel. What starts as “just one night” quickly becomes something deeper, richer, and impossible to ignore. Though the journey to the ending was hard for them both… they truly knew in their hearts that the trust between them was undeniable and beautiful to watch unfold.
Romantic, emotional, and perfectly wintery, Snowed In With You is a standalone romance that delivers heart, heat, and hope.
LM Fox once again proves why her stories are so easy to fall into and so hard to forget.
Bravo LM! You did an outstanding job with Char and Dave’s story and I cannot recommend it enough.
Read this if you love…festive reads. Wedding parties. Hidden identity. Found family. Healing and finding yourself
This book is like if Devney Perry, Elsie Silver and Catherine Cowells all had a baby, but with unique elements of L. M fox. Such a beautiful mix of small town romance with mystery and hidden truths
Four weddings and no funerals is the outline for the start of this book. It was a fun read but also had a deeply moving plot line and characters that you fall in love with. The journey Char went on was incredible and hard to read about but you’re also rooting for her so badly, and want all the happiness for her
Really enjoyed this and will be checking out other books by lm in the near future 🫶🏻
Huge thank you to Hambirght PR and L.M. Fox for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!
This books honestly surprised me!! I went into this relatively blind and I was expecting this to be a novel set completely in the winter and I really enjoyed that the fact that this spanned over a longer period of time! I really loved the storyline. It felt like a unique take on romantic suspense and I loved how the story came together. That plot twist at the end literally took me completely by surprise.
This was a quick and easy read! It hooked my attention early on and it never wavered!
Char and Dave share an indescribable connection right off the bat and L.M. Fox does an amazing job writing their introduction. Literally my favorite part of the book was them meeting at the wedding. Like the joking, chemistry and banter was just knocked out of the park. Their chemistry was magnetic and so fun to read... especially since neither of them thought love was in their futures.
There were a few small things that bothered me in this book but the pros outweighed the cons. Here’s my brief pros and cons list.
Pros: Quick and easy Cute storyline Lovable characters Kept my attention Plot twist was top notch
Cons: Timeline felt really off at times? Important things seemed to be like mentioned but never finished The characters actively saying “haha” while talking Some things were kind of cringe??
Would I suggest this to a friend? Yes! Would I reread? Probably yeah! Would I like a trophy? Yes!
This book completely pulled me in and honestly surprised me in the best way. I went in expecting a cozy winter romance and ended up getting something so much deeper and more emotional.
Char’s story broke my heart. She’s been surviving for years, carrying fear and trauma quietly, and I loved how strong yet gentle she still is. Her anxiety felt real and handled with so much care. And Dave? Absolute gold. A steady, protective firefighter who notices everything and shows up without pressure. The way he becomes her safe place without trying to rush her made me love him instantly.
The romance is a true slow burn with just the right amount of tension and spice, paired perfectly with the suspense woven throughout. The winter setting and small-town vibes made everything feel even more intimate and cozy.
This was tender, protective, emotional, and so satisfying. I finished it feeling full in the best way.
Thank you so much to the author and @hambright_pr for the gifted ARC 🤍 Available now on KU and Amazon.

✨ Thank you to LM Fox and Hambright PR for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own. ✨
This book surprised me in the best way possible. I went in expecting a cozy holiday romance and instead found a romantic suspense with mystery-filled, wintery vibes. Char and Dave share an instant connection, yet neither believes love is in their future. Char’s flashback scenes add depth to her character and help readers understand the fear and trauma that shape her approach to relationships. Will Char and Dave allow themselves to connect—and dare to dream of their happily ever after?
Read this if you enjoy romantic suspense with a touch of tension, slow-burn romance, and a small-town setting.
I got to read a copy from hambright PR thank you! I loved the idea of a “one night stand” that turns into many! I Also really enjoyed the dual pov I am such a sucker for that, I love reading both of their sides of the story! Super cute fast read!
I READ THIS IN ONE SITTING AND I HAVE ZERO REGRETS—ONLY VIBES, FEELS, AND FIREFIGHTER-INDUCED FERALITY.
Snowed In With You by LM Fox completely consumed me. Like, I picked it up “just for a chapter” and suddenly hours disappeared, my responsibilities vanished, and I was emotionally attached to Dave “Smoke” and Charlene like they were my own chaotic small-town friends. This book had me in a CHOKEHOLD.
First of all—THEIR FIRST MEETING??? Instant connection. Instant spark. Instant “oh noooo this is everything I shouldn’t want but I want it SO BAD” energy.
Dave is over here trying desperately not to believe in love, not to get attached, not to repeat the mess he saw growing up… and then Charlene walks in like a wildfire in lipstick and he’s DONE. Absolutely leveled.
And Charlene?? This carefree, wild, fun, no-strings night goddess—who disappears the next morning like Cinderella only hotter and more mysterious. I LOVE HER.
But then the next time they meet? Ohhhh my heart. She’s not the same sparkly wild thing he remembers. She’s carrying something heavy, hiding something big, and the shift in her energy hit me straight in the chest. I was SO invested, I was practically interrogating the book like “GIRL WHAT HAPPENED??”
And Dave… the way he immediately senses something’s wrong and wants to protect her—without pushing, without demanding, just quietly showing up—I MELTED. FULL PUDDLE. No one talk to me.
The chemistry?? INSANE. Ridiculous. Ridiculously insane. Like smoke-and-flame, firefighter-coded, “we shouldn’t but we absolutely will” vibes that had me clutching the pages.
Then LM Fox throws in ❄️ small town charm ❄️ holiday magic ❄️ suspense that had me sweating ❄️ forced proximity ❄️ a firefighter hero named SMOKE (COME ON)
And I was GONE.
Dave “Smoke” is everything—broody, loyal, protective, low-key soft, and completely wrecked by Charlene from the second he meets her. And Charlene is strong, complicated, hurting, hopeful, and impossible not to root for.
This wasn’t just a romance. It was chemistry, tension, emotion, mystery, and “oh no I’m falling in love” panic all wrapped in snow and small-town holiday lights.
I devoured it. In one sitting. With my whole heart in my throat.
What would you do if everything you ever wanted could be taken from you because you let someone in?
Char has lived her entire adult life with thoughts like that. Lay low, stay local, don't make waves. If she follows her rules, maybe they won't find her. If she follows her rules, maybe the little life she's allowed herself to live, the few friends she's made, will be ok. She knew the trip to her friends wedding was a risk, and the alluring firefighter who makes her feel safer than she's ever felt before wasn't supposed to be part of the equation...
Dave knows what bad relationships look like, and he's seen the damage it can leave behind. He's sworn he won't repeat the cycle, or let a woman potentially face the same cycle he witnessed as a child. But when he met the alluring green eyed goddess at his Squads mass wedding(4 firefighter weddings, 1 day. Genius!), he knows she's different. But she's made it clear its just a fun night... He wants more.
After returning home from the wedding, things are stange, and Char can't help but feel insecure and worried. A surprise visit from her friend brings Dave along in tow, and he can't help but notice that she's different. What's changed? Whys she so closed off, gun shy and jumpy? What's she hiding? And why does he feel so protective of a woman he barely knows?
With intense feelings, redemption of self, overcoming trauma, and learning to grow past your weaknesses( Plus a healthy splash of some witty one liners)... This one is a great road trip through what it takes to find the family that truly loves you and how you have to grab hold when you get there. The side characters are just as important as the FMC and MMC and bring so much depth to the story, it makes this one so fulfilling!
Tropes included but not limited to Firefighter Small town Romance Found Family Cinnamon Roll Hidden Identity Past Trauma HEA Holiday Vibes
Thank you to LM Fox for this one. I am off to snatch up the rest of the characters
I recieved this book as an ARC READ review from L.M. Fox and Hambrite PR, I am grateful for the opportunity afforded to me to read this book for free but give my honest opinion in turn. I encourage the reader to enjoy this book and draw their own conclusions just as I have.
I found this book to be probably one of the better written romances with a troubled past I have come across...it's not overly in your face with whoa is me something happened in my past and I'm too scared to even breathe whilst simultaneously going out and risking their life at every opportunity...no L.M. wrote the mystery surrounding Chars past beautifully with just enough given each time to keep you reading and wanting to learn more and when you find out what happened you then understand why Char has lived her life the way she has and her hesitation to expand outside of Candy Cane Key (sick name btw!) I also rather thought that the romance aspect was beautiful and didn't leave me feeling like he just wanted her body...no he genuinely felt like he cherished her and would do anything for her which I loved so much...I can't say there is a 3rd act break up so much as something happens to spook our leading lady and send her running first in the wrong direction and then in the right direction. Side characters like Betty are amazing and they add so much to the story that it feels like it'd be wrong to not have them in there! I am glad in the end she decided to trust the people around her and tell them the full truth, I also love that one of my least favorite tropes did NOT happen in this book and it makes me giddy! Now despite thoroughly enjoying this read and yearning for more I will say that in some transitional areas the transition didn't seem to fit or information was a bit lacking to allow certain new scenes to unfold as the previous scene closed, I think if someone went back in to the story and redid just a few minor touch ups this could absolutely be a 5 star read! I cannot wait to experience more L.M. Fox!
char has spent most of her life surviving. after an abusive childhood and being placed in witness protection at seventeen she has lived on the run afraid to get too close or stay too long. eventually she finds a small town where she can finally breathe build a quiet life and believe she is safe. dave has his own scars. growing up with a cheating father and a mother whose mental health slowly unraveled taught him responsibility far too young. becoming a firefighter was his way of protecting others the way he once wished someone had protected his family. steady kind and selfless he is everything char has trained herself not to need.
they meet at a wedding when char takes a big risk by leaving the safety of her carefully built world to support her best friend. dave is there for his own best friend and neither of them expects the instant pull that snaps into place between them. the connection is effortless intense and impossible to ignore. but char’s past is never far behind and the life she escaped is not done with her yet. trusting dave means risking everything she has fought to protect including her freedom and her heart.
this was such a lovely winter romance book filled with found family, slow burn love, lust, suspense and mental health topics. the main characters dave and char are such loveable characters from the get go and you find yourself feeling so connected to them and root for them from the beginning! i also loved all of the family and friend characters in the book, the found family was just lovely! it was so heartwarming to read char and dave overcome past traumas, learn new things about themselves and learn to finally let somebody into their lives and love them for exactly who they are.
thank you to LM Fox and hambright PR for this arc copy 🤍
Char's on the run from her past, constantly looking over her shoulder for fear those that hurt her will one day show up to finish the job. Dave's a small town fire fighter, the perpetual bachelor, and thinks his life is fine just the way it is. Until he meets Char at their mutual friend's wedding and sparks fly. They share an incredible night together until he wakes up alone the next morning, already desperately missing this woman that captivated him from the moment he laid eyes on her. As the weeks go on and neither of them can stop thinking about one another, you know something incredible is coming. When they cross paths again he immediately notices a change in her, not knowing that danger is lurking at her door. She's struggling with her feelings for him, and the fear that her past has caught up with her. Even though they both want something more, she continues to push him away to protect him and her found family that she loves so dearly. When she finally opens up to him, and lets him carry her fear and pain it's like she could breathe for the first time in forever. The connection they built and the way he protected her will have you swooning over the man he becomes for her. The building tension as danger lurks was exciting and had me on the edge of my seat. I loved the combination of suspense and romance and boy, was the spice ever spicy. My heart was so happy that Char finally got the HEA she didn't even realize she wanted until Dave showed her there was life and love waiting for her. Snowed in With You was an incredible read and you definitely need to add it to your TBR.
Snowed In With You is the third (#3) book in the SYCAMORE MOUNTAIN series
This was my first read of a LM Fox book and I really enjoyed it.
‘Snowed In’ is a delightful winter season romance with a cinnamon role hero and the girl of his dreams….if only she hadn’t disappeared after their one perfect night together!
Smoke and Char are a great couple, their chemistry is off the charts! There are open door scenes but they are tastefully done and in fitting with the story line.
There is a suspense thread running throughout the story as we slowly discover what Char is running from and why. Smoke is the quintessential hot firefighter with a heart of gold. I would have loved to see a bit more action from Char’s stepfather and Smoke’s dad but it was good to see them come a cropper at the end.
Neither of the main characters have had the best upbringing, for different reasons but it cements their relationship as they both sympathise with the others issues.
The side characters are really intriguing and interesting and bring an extra layer to the story. Some of their antics were hilarious.
I read an ebook copy of this book with just over 300 pages, a ‘couple’ cover and excellent editing.
If you’re looking for a sweet, holiday romance with slight threat and some open door action then I highly recommend this book to you.
With thanks to #LMFox #HPRSnowedInWithYou #HambrightPR for a chance to read.

Her best friend's wedding is right around the corner and she is scared to go but she does it for her best friend. That is when she runs into Dave a.k.a Smoke who changes her way of thinking. I enjoyed this book so much and could not put it down, needing to know what was going to happen next. It had everything you could want. Suspense, emotional pasts, firefighters in a small mountain town, and the perfect spice 🥵 Dave meets Char once and after their one perfect night together, he is left wanting so much more. Char has a very emotional/rough past and is not about to have a long distance relationship when she is content and safe in her little town of Candy Cane Key. They meet again and Dave realizes that Char might be hiding from something or someone, and all he wants to do is help her. This story keeps you guessing and wanting more the entire time. I enjoyed this book so much and look forward to reading more of LM Fox’s work in the future!!
First off absolutely everyone needs a Betty in their live. A redneck fairy godmother who packs a revolver in her bra and will use it anyone so much as looks at you funny.
This was my first book by LM Fox and I have not previously read any of the other books int he Sycamore Series. While it took me a second to get into it and learn all the characters it really wasn't a problem and you can definitely read as a standalone or out of order.
Char is a woman who has remained off the grid completely running from a past that terrifiers her- hiding in plain site. She travels for the first time in years outside of her little safety net to Sycamore Mountain for her best friends wedding and meets firefighter Dave. The chemistry between them is smoking and this book is the perfect amount of spice, plot and vulnerability. While there isn't any real big highs or sudden twists the beauty of this book is the vulnerability that Chars shows to finally have her friends and Dave know the truth of her past. Dave also shares his family with Char and gives her a place to feel safe. While simple the text messages between them you know are a big step for Char. To open herself up. This is a book that is subtle and feel of meaning.
Absolutely fantastic and easy read- wonderful for the holiday/ winter season.
Thank you to Hambright PR and the author for providing an ARC.
