From the #1 New York Times bestselling author Brynne Weaver comes the second book in the devilishly steamy Seasons of Carnage trilogy where dark romantic comedy meets thrilling suspense—and where love is ripe for ruin.
It’s time to reap what you sow.
Cape Carnage is blooming with secrets, and they’re ready to harvest. But every time Nolan Rhodes digs one up, another grows in its place. Harper isn’t who he thought she was. Arthur might be more sinister than he first thought. And Sheriff Yates? The man is everywhere he turns. When true crime fanatics descend on the town looking for answers about the death of their leader, Nolan finds himself at the center of a search and rescue operation for missing people he knows are already dead. Cape Carnage teeters on the brink of chaos. And the harder Nolan tries to keep it together, the closer Harper comes to unraveling.
Harper Starling has risked everything to bury her trauma in Cape Carnage. But now that Nolan has unearthed her past, her whole life seems ready to break apart. And who can she trust? The enigmatic man she’s falling in love with? He came to kill her. The serial killer mentor she’s vowed to protect? He’s become an unpredictable menace. The woman in the mirror? She might be the most dangerous of all.
Loyalties are tested. Bonds are bent to a breaking point. And love? That might be the deadliest trap of all.

Listen, I’m a Brynne girlie to the day I die. Being blessed with this early ARC has been the honour of my life. Brynne’s writing remains my favourite. An extraordinary balance of poetic and practical and hilarious and heartbreaking. I’m not sure how I’m gonna be able to wait to the next and final instalment because I am a ✨wreck.✨

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK! Harvest Season picks up right where Tourist Season ends and man oh man is it high stakes from the very first page. Because of the last POV we got in TS, you get a totally different perspective going into this book when you get certain interactions between characters and it starts to really paint a sinister picture.
I absolutely adore Harper and Nolan. Their banter and chemistry is off the charts and things only intensify in book two. This book is even more action packed than the first book and the last third of the book will have you on the edge of your seat! There were heart pounding moments that truly had me thinking I was on the verge of a panic attack (but totally worth it omg). Brynne is a master as her craft and I cannot wait to see what she will bring in the third and final book of the trilogy!
Thank you Zando and Slow Burn for an ARC of this book!
Thank you for not making us wait a full year for book 2! Book 1 was one of my favorite reads of 2025 so I am pumped for book 2, especially after that epilogue!!
Harvest Season welcomes you back to Cape Carnage. Cape Carnage is not your average “small town”. It’s unconventionally charming and eccentric. But the residents of Cape Carnage? Well let’s just say..nothing is what it seems but they all look out for one another.
We last ended off with the Discord group, the SleuthSeekers trying to find out who La Plume was. Also, we met Nolan Rhodes. Nolan came to CC with one plan.. to kill Harper Sterling. But now? Plans have changed.. he now knows the true story of what happened the night his brother died and Harper & Nolan can’t keep their hands off each other.
With the SleuthSeekers back, Nolan would do anything to protect Harper and her secrets. And let’s not forget Sheriff Yates. He’s determined to find out how people wind up missing in Cape Carnage so he puts together a search & rescue team and seeks out Nolan to help out. But again.. nothing is as what it seems. Including Sheriff Yates.
With Arthur’s dementia forcing Harper to choose to put him in a home or try her best to keep him safe, her feelings for Nolan forcing her to look back on her past and whether or not she can allow herself to love him or believe that he will only wind up hurting her, and Nolan trying to cover up everyone’s “extracurricular activities” .. is Cape Carnage and all it’s hidden secrets safe? Or will someone that everyone thought was gone.. return to cause more havoc?
I am SO GLAD I got this ARC.. I’m grateful to be a part of Brynne Weaver’s ARC team because after ARC reading Tourist Season, I couldn’t wait for book 2. THIS BOOK HAD ME SCREAMING!!!! And now we have ANOTHER cliffhanger and a wait (🤬🤬) for the 3rd and final book and I just can’t wait to find out how it all pans out.
This story was incredible. So much tension and drama and edge of your seat moments mixed in with quirky murder humor, unbelievable “wtf” moments, and HOT AS FUUK spice!! In true Brynne Weaver fashion, this story had so much heart, so much humor, and of course.. a bird that repeats “pretty murder bird”. But this time? We even have dick shaped topiaries! lol I cackled at so many parts and I fell in love along with Nolan & Harper. I love the writing and I simply cannot wait for everyone else to be able to read this book! Infinity stars!!
Back in Cape Carnage like I never left. Like my soul never escaped. Like the town itself reached through the page, grabbed me by the throat, and whispered, "Welcome home, biatch."
This book is BLOOMING with violence and longing and secrets so rotten they feel holy.
Nolan Rhodes and Harper Starling are not a couple. They are a BIBLICAL EVENT.
The bond between them feels like the kind of love that would end civilizations. The kind of devotion that is not romantic, it is APOCALYPTIC. If a man does not want to consume you body and soul, burn the whole world down for you, eliminate every threat within breathing distance, then what are we even doing here.
Nolan came to kill her. And now he is her shield until the end of time.
I do not make the rules.
Cape Carnage is spiraling. The bodies are stacking. The town is crawling with true crime freaks and missing people and Sheriff Yates being everywhere like a disease. Arthur is somehow worse. Harper is unraveling. Nolan is digging up answers and finding only more graves.
And Brynne, you beautiful devil, the way you write chaos is actually criminal.
More spice. More mayhem. More laughs that turn into horror halfway through. It is dark romantic comedy with teeth.
The last chapters had me LEVITATING. Edge of my seat. Mouth open. Heart in my stomach. I finished this feeling high and dry and feral and genuinely confused about what year I live in.
Also, Cape Carnage’s theme song is literally Dance Macabre by Ghost. Tell me I’m wrong. That town is a cursed party where everyone is flirting while bleeding out.
Brynne Weaver outdoes herself every single time. Every book boyfriend gets more unhinged. Every cliffhanger gets more illegal.
And now I have to wait for book three like a widow staring out a window in a storm.
During a world war or something.
Everyone will be gasping. Internationally. Brynne, I'm begging you.
The residents of small town Cape Carnage are notorious for the odd and unusual. For a small town it’s extremely uncommon for murder to occur. Since Nolan and Harper arrived the murder rate has increased. … Nolan came to Cape Carnage to destroy Harper, but it turns out they’ve both done terrible things and now they need each other in redirecting the sheriff and the amateur detectives from discovering what secrets are buried in Cape Carnage. … Cape Carnage is drawing attention with murder and a missing persons case. In a small town like Cape Carnage the police don’t have the resources to solve a case of this magnitude, so the sheriff recruited Nolan to head up the search and rescue. … Harper came to Cape Carnage to protect Arthur, although she’s bit off more than she can handle with Arthur. With his Alzheimer’s disease getting worse it makes it harder to keep his secrets from being exposed. … Harvest Season is a dark romantic comedy about a serial killer and his killer girlfriend. This is book two in The Seasons of Carnage trilogy. Brynne Weaver has quickly become a popular author in the dark romantic category. Weaver blends some memorable moments into these stories that has caused quite the buzz. In a previous book Weaver ruined Cookies N Cream ice cream. … This book could’ve been darker with more disturbing behaviors. It leans less in the comedy and more into the investigation. I thought it was mild in comparison with other books written by Weaver. This was more about Nolan and Harper blending into Cape Carnage being volunteers to help in the search and rescue of a person they made disappear. I’m not sure I liked the domesticated version of Harper and Nolan trying to blend in.
I am still freaking gobsmacked. Harvest Season may be the best book that I’ve read by Brynne Weaver. Because it is a continuation of Tourist Season, it is the next later of depth to the dynamics and relationship of Nolan and Harper. It gets muddy, it gets complicated, it gets REAL. And when there are so many players that threaten the Cape Carnage dynamics, we get to see how Nolan and Harper try to evade detection and blame, all the while a mastermind keeps playing chess with them. You get to fall in love with the quirky aspects of Cape Carnage, the town that feels so lived in. The side characters you adore and you start getting protective of them. Brynne cranked up the THRILLER aspect to 100 and all you can do is oversee without being able to intervene. Nolan is the perfect MMC, no doubts at all. So many sweet tender moments and steamy ones as well. I’m still in shock and I do not know how Brynne will resolve the chaos that is left for the third book.
PS: Yates actually might be one of my favorite characters ever.
After finishing this book, I’m still taking calming breaths. I adore this relationship with all my heart. The communication and understanding between Harper and Nolan honestly raises my bar for men. I’m so grateful this couple has more than one book, allowing us to truly dive into their history and see how their past shapes who they are together. Brynne’s leading ladies always make me feel seen, and Harper is no exception.
Another character in this story is the beautifully quirky town itself. I so wish I could visit Cape Carnage and experience all of its unique events and traditions. Oddly enough, I’m still okay with alcohol and toes… but I’m also happily eating cookies and cream ice cream, so I’m not entirely sure what that says about me.
Anywho, this is another favorite novel in the books brimming with plot, lovable characters, quirky setting and an emotional rollercoaster I will gladly ride any day.
Another great read from Brynne!! I went into this just knowing that I was going to get a massive cliff hanger but boy did it still hurt. This was one of those book I was trying so hard not to finish because I just knew I wasn't going to know what to do with myself when I did.
We do continue where the first book left off. There was just so much to unpack. New characters were introduced to the chaos of Cape Carnage. Sherif Yates, oh boy, this man!! I just don't have words for him! Nolan and Harper have gone through so much and are still going through a lot. The last 10-15% of the book destroyed me. There was so much that happened in those last pages. Author 😭 he is just the best witty, grouchy, old man ever. I am so ready to find out how this all ends. I am at the edge of my seat waiting for the next book.

It was so good to be back in Cape Carnage. Harvest Season digs deeper into the rot beneath the town—and somehow makes everything more twisted, more dangerous, and more emotionally charged. Brynne Weaver has a way of pulling you in and not letting go, layering secrets on top of secrets until you’re completely entangled. Nolan is drowning in truths he can’t unsee, Harper is barely holding herself together, and every relationship feels like it’s one wrong move away from imploding. Loyalties blur, trust fractures, and love becomes just as lethal as the violence surrounding them. And that cliffhanger? Absolutely brutal. But honestly—that’s part of why I love her books. The pain just means there’s more coming, and I’ll be waiting. Dark, addictive, and impossible to put down. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (emotionally wrecked, willingly)
Harvest Season- Brynne Weaver - DNF No star rating
I won this as an ARC from Goodreads. I’m about 230 pages in and I’ve spent weeks trying to force myself to pick this up, and have decided it’s time to let it go.
I really wanted to love it. I liked the first one. It was cute, funny, and had a touch of suspense with the mystery that was woven into it. Halfway through this one, the characters have done nothing but think about, talk about, and worry about what happened in the first book. There’s nothing at all to hold my interest and keep me reading. I might try to pick it up again at another time, and hopefully, the end can redeem the beginning, but for now, it’s time for me to move on. I never commit this much time to a book, but I wanted to give it an honest go for a review.
I will NOT give spoilers since I was blessed by the Goddess herself with an advanced copy…. (NetGalley )but what I will say until release date is this….
I swear Brynne Weaver had me in an absolute chokehold with Tourist Season and now Harvest Season just made it worse.
The tension? Unhinged. The twists? Had me yelling “WHAT?!” like a lunatic. Nolan & Harper?? Yeah… they own a permanent piece of my brain now.
How does Brynne do it???? Obsessed with every story she puts out at this point!!
This book somehow manages to be dark, chaotic, funny, and spicy all at the same time and I ate up every single page.
And that ending??….. . I’m now emotionally damaged and impatiently waiting for book three like the rest of the feral fan club will be.
WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT ENDING???? ARE YOU KIDDING ME.
Brb while I go throw myself off the cliff in Cape Carnage because genuinely what the hell.
I obviously need the next book ASAP because I need to know how everything is going to get fixed from what it is right now😭
AND DO NOT GET ME STARTED ON MY MAN NOLAN. MY FILTHY MOUTHED, DEVOTED, OBSESSIVE, STALKER OF A MAN, HUSBAND MATERIAL. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH IT HURTSSSSSS.
Nolan Rhodes PINESSSSSS.
Ugh. Everyone needs to read this so I am not suffering alone. Thanks so much.
-Also HUGE thank you to Brynne for sending me this arc. I am always a HUGE fan of your work and I am forever grateful and HONORED to be an ARC reader.🖤🥹🔪
3.5 stars - please PLEASE don’t hate me for this lol
I loved Tourist Season. It was SO GOOD. I think my issue with this book is that the middle was slow. The beginning and the end were really good! But I lost interest for a bit in the middle and that caused me to feel…. Eh about it. However, the ending left me excited for the next in the series. So it did redeem itself!
First of all, how dare you write such a brilliant book? Second, I was not ready for a cliffhanger that huge so please give me book 3 🥺
This morbidly hilarious continuation of The Seasons of Carnage Trilogy had me laughing at the most inappropriate moments. But it also had me in my feels, so be prepared for the hard stuff. Buckle up babes, it’s quite a ride 🖤
Brynne Weaver, you beautiful devil you! You are killing me with these cliffhangers but you had me on the edge of my seat with the last few chapters! I can already tell book 3 will be insane & I can't wait. A+
Brynne Weaver is the queen of opening lines! I devoured this. We’re back in Cape Carnage with a bang! More spice, more mayhem, more unaliving, more laughs… all topped with that signature dark and unhinged energy we love. Thank you so much for the early advance eARC
As always, another top tier dark romance from Brynne. It was funny, spicy, nerve-wracking, and heartbreaking. To think I have to wait another who knows how long until the 3rd book after that BULLSHIT ENDING 😭
Thank you so much to Brynne, Netgalley, and Zando for the ARC.
