Rejected, Pregnant and Exiled by the Billionaire Lycan King

Rate this book
I got pregnant by the billionaire Lycan King,
then he rejected and exiled me because I'm a traitor's daughter.

He owned me for seven years as his assistant.
Once my heat hit, he rutted me on his desk until it broke.
He marked my throat and claimed me as his Luna in front of the entire Council.

Three months later, he found my research proving my father was innocent. He didn't care.
He called me a traitor and ripped our bond apart in front of every alpha in the realm.

My wolf died screaming. He watched me collapse and didn't flinch.

I ran before he could find out I was carrying his heir. I've been hiding our son for three years, and I'll die before I let him take my boy.

Alaric

I chose my crown over her. I destroyed our bond and exiled the only woman who ever mattered.

Three years of hell later, her scent still destroys me. I tracked her to a rundown apartment and found him—my son, with my eyes staring back at me.

"Banishing you should've broken the bond," I tell her. "Instead it's killing me."

She puts herself between me and our boy. She's still fierce and still mine.

"I'll burn the Council to the ground," I say. "You're both coming home."

She says some rejections can't be forgiven.

I'll make her a liar.

DNF at 65%. The first chapter was the only chapter to have smut so far. Idk who wrote this but did they forget this was a romance? While I was intrigued by uncovering the mystery (heroine’s father was framed for killing hero’s family in an insurrection attempt), the romance was so under-developed. Hero supposedly hated heroine but married her as soon as he claimed her as his mate, and “denied” their claim publicly to “protect” her only to spend the next 4 years searching for her after she fled…

When did his lifelong hate turn into insta-forgiveness?? I’m not saying he has to nurse a grudge, but it was as soon as it became convenient, plot-wise, he becomes reasonable and repentant. Boo. I was here for the alpha shenanigans… no angst. No smut. No way I am finishing this.

A Good Story Needing Polish

The story is really solid and the character development and world building are great. It just needed a developmental edit. There were some structure issues, repetitive conversations that contradicted previous conversations, things happening in one room then suddenly we’re in a different place with little orchestration as to how we got there. Normally, plot holes and inconsistencies of that magnitude would make me set the book down which is a testament to how compelling the writing was that I didn’t. So I just wish so badly it had had a developmental polish to flag those issues. It was like the authors wrote separate chapters and didn’t quite check in with each other on continuity and flow, which hasn’t happened in previous books I’ve read in this series. If they can go through and fix those issues then this will be such a stellar and less confusing read.

I have read Rejected, Pregnant, and Exiled by the Billionaire Lycan Kings-I thought the book was going to be good and it could have been. The book contains several inconsistencies that undermined its effectiveness. In multiple instances, a point made on one page is later contradicted. Here are three significant examples: They may not sound that big, but they threw off the story making me wonder if I had read things correctly or not.

P 274-
“Then reality crashed back, and she was on her feet, apologies tumbling from her lips as she spoke to her date. I didn’t hear the words, too focused on the way she moved, the nervous energy that radiated from her as she grabbed her purse and headed for the exit. Running again, always running.”
But not this time. I followed her out of the bar, aware that Caesar would handle any cleanup needed inside. The cool night air did nothing to calm the fire in my blood as I caught up with her in the parking lot.
P.275
“Fine,” she said finally.
She stood up from her seat and looked at the man seated before her with an apologetic gaze.
“Sorry David, give me a few minutes, I will be back.”

****How can she already be in the parking lot running from him and then back at the table with David?

P 317
Not even on our wedding night had he shown that kind of raw, unfiltered emotion.

****If I remember correctly- on their wedding night she was drunk and went to bed and was asleep before he got there. He was gone the next morning before she woke up. Also there was never any love shown by the MMC. But now it is 'I love you, always have' ????

P 231
At the next rest stop, I did as Dahlia instructed. The phone went into a dumpster behind a run-down diner, the SIM card snapped and scattered.
P 318:
When Dahlia had found the phone tucked into the bottom of the bag, we’d both assumed it was tracked. A way for him to hunt us down and finish what he’d started. We’d smashed it with a rock and thrown the pieces into a river.

***So did the phone go in the dumpster? or the river? Did the FMC have it handed to her by his beta with her sisters phone number already programmed in or did her sister find it in the bottom of her luggage?

****I feel like they are mass producing these different wolf/ lycan books to the point they are forgetting what they have said and it is basically a hurry and get done so we can make more money kinda thing. Disappointed. Could have been a good story.

ummm…

This story could have been a series. There were very compelling moments and a few missed opportunities. The obvious moral dilemmas of the entire relationship dynamic aside, there were a few structural issues. There were about two paragraphs in each chapter that moved the story forward and some chapters didn’t present any new information at all. I understand this is the case when a web story becomes a book; the pacing is off. But here is the thing, for as often as the same concept was repeated, there were details that could have expanded the story, and details that changed. Both of these scenarios were distracting as a reader. In one instance she is forced to sleep in the MMC’s room. It’s a notable plot point. Later in the book, she “enters the wing of the family wing of the house for the first time, a place her blood never granted her admittance”. But that is where his room is. But I guess I was here for a good time, not an intellectual one, so it served its purpose.

I really tried to stick it out, but this book is poorly written and has a ton of errors in it. There are continuity errors and editing errors. Some transitions don’t even make sense. Characters are full of knowledge when we don’t see, they are given such knowledge. There isn’t an implication that they are told “out of sight.“ just doesn’t make sense.
