A saint in sneakers

I've bought this for my 7-yo son, and I was expecting something really old-fashioned and boring. But Carlo Acutis was a modern kid, he was into video games, computers, and sneakers. It’s a story to read in a religious context.

The whole point is to show kids that you don't have to be a monk in a cave to be a good person or even a saint. Carlo used his computer skills to build a whole website about miracles before he died. It’s a cool story that makes faith feel a lot more relevant to modern life, not something stuck in the past. The book is also full of activities and "mission challenges", so it's not just a biography; it's trying to get kids to do stuff.

I read this book with my 7 year old, and I love how it's so easy to read and understand. After each chapter there are activities and prompts to reflect upon how these stories affect your life and how you might want to live your life after reading it. It has so many little nuggets and stories, not just about Carlo Acutis but of other miracles, and how someone is canonized. And all explained in a very easy to read manner. I would highly recommend this! Even for adults!.

Lots of activities!

This book tells the story of Carlo Acutis, an inspiring teenage boy who loved Jesus, the Church, and computers. It's perfect for kids learning about faith and could be very inspiring to young Christian boys and girls. I liked the interactive activities after each chapter—they were fun and engaging. The biggest negative is the quality of the illustrations (AI-generated). However, it's still a great educational read for Catholic families.

Well written book about the Catholic Church estate newest Saint. Written with activities to do by oneself or with parents, teachers etc. The story can be read by itself to younger children up to reading by oneself. Young teens would probably get the most ful use out of this.

It's such a good story for both children and adults as I feel like people only go to Church because it's expected of them, yet many fail to follow God's teachings of being kind, helping others less fortunate than you, and being a friend to people regardless of color or personal belief...So I feel like this book is a real eye opener for many people.
