The Bratva's Obsession

Andrei

Finally liberated from my father’s chains, I’m starting to build my own empire, one that’s free of the danger and corruption he reveled in. Things are changing for the better, but a life of my own isn’t everything I imagined it would be. My brother says I’m just lonely, that I need to find a woman to love who will love me in return. I know better; my parents taught me how toxic love can be, and I’m well aware that my father’s monster lurks within my veins. I am certain love is the last thing I should seek. Until Mila comes crashing into my life, and I start to wonder if everything I’ve always believed about myself is true, or if, maybe, I don’t have to be the man my father raised me to be. But his enemies are still lurking, ready to strike when I’m most vulnerable. I’ll have to prove to them that threatening the woman I love makes me far more dangerous than they could have ever imagined.

Mila

Since graduating high school, I’ve been lost. My grandfather says there’s plenty of time to figure out my future, but I don’t even know where to start. Directionless and uncertain about what I want in life, I agree to take a job as a personal assistant to a CEO. My new boss is nothing like I imagined he would be. Despite his reputation for being tough and demanding, he’s the opposite with me. To say I’m clumsy and accident prone would be an understatement. But Andrei is patient and calm. Where others would try to manage me or keep me out of trouble, he guides and praises. With him, I’m more confident than I’ve ever been. But just as I’m falling in love, I learn Andrei isn’t who I thought he was. In fact, he’s everything I’ve been determined to avoid. Now I have to decide if loving Andrei is worth the risk.

Finding where she belongs.

Mila Voronin is reporting for her first day at work for Popov Shipping Group when she trips out in front of the building and almost does a face-plant onto the sidewalk. Her Papaw (grandfather) had told her to arrive on time, to work hard, and to keep her head up. She's still on time despite her almost fall, but she still thinks the tripping was an omen.

She's shocked and somewhat dismayed to realize she's to be the assistant to the C.E.O. Andrei Popov. Her Papaw is old friends with the general manager. She's been let go from so many jobs already that she's certain she'll fail here, too. At times it's as if her body acts before her brain does. Papaw says she's not careless, just uncoordinated; she calls herself clumsy to the extreme.

As she's looking over her instructions, she notices with dismay that Mr. Popov's coffee should be placed on his desk before 9 A.M. It's almost that time now. She dashes to the kitchen and makes the coffee, but while rushing back to the office, her heel catches on the corner of the carpet, and she collides with a man, dousing him with hot coffee. She grabs his hand, pulls him into a restroom—the ladies' restroom—and proceeds to sponge him off with cold water. She thinks he's a newbie just like her. That is until another woman enters the restroom and calls him Mr. Popov.

Hello Mr. Popov, goodbye job, and it's barely 9 A.M.! It's a new record for her: the shortest length of time between starting a new job and losing said job.

Only for some unknown and very unexpected reason Andrei decides to allow her to stay... Something that Mr. Howard Abrams from the Human Resources Department is most unhappy with.

Andrei has taken the company that his father once used for criminal acts and reorganized it to be a legal, law-abiding company. But he's stumbled on someone in the company trying to ship God only knows what cargo on his ships. He will get to the bottom of this, but before he can, Mila stumbles upon it...

Papaw has been testing both Mila and Andrei. He has plans for Andrei, but Mila may not like those plans. Just how strong is their love for one another?

She crashes into his life. He decides she’s his.

The Elevator Pitch: A clumsy young assistant stumbles into the orbit of a controlled, dangerous man who was never supposed to want softness, only to find that his patience and possession awaken something fierce in them both. As desire deepens into dependence, the past he has tried to bury begins closing in, forcing their fragile trust to stand against the violence shadowing his name. What begins as temptation becomes a struggle over who gets to define him, and whether love can survive the kind of obsession that was never meant to be gentle.

Heat Level: 🔥🔥🔥 Ultra-Steamy / Erotic Romance

This one was really easy to get into. Andrei has that classic dangerous mafia vibe, but what I liked most was that there’s more going on with him than just being possessive and intense. He’s trying to build a different life for himself, and that made him feel more interesting and a little more emotional than the usual bratva hero. Mila was sweet and a little lost at first, but I liked seeing her grow more confident as the story went on. Their relationship had a nice mix of tenderness and tension, and the protective energy was definitely there. If you like mafia romance with a hero who is obsessed in a softer, more devoted way, this one is a really good pick. 🔥.

"I want to please her... want to ruin her... I want to make her burn for me the way I burn for her." ~Andrei

This is the last book in the Villians of New York series and it fell a little... flat. I thought there would have been more action from the crime family, even seeing previous characters paying a visit, but there's nothing. It's short but there isn't enough character development or romance of Andrei Popov 26 meeting Mila Voronin 18, his solnishka. It's rushed. There's a weird Daddy kink later on that came out of nowhere. It's so random that it didn't make sense to me.😣

Mila being a clumsy, falling, spilling coffee, making sandwiches fall on the lap of her boss, let me wipe that up for you, and always apologizing, is so OTT, that I wondered if this is suppose to be a rom-com? It got overly played and didn't fit the villian storyline. It got annoying. She didn't get fired. How did Mila not know she got hired to be the CEO's personal assistant? It's weird. I would like to read a MFC who knows how to walk into a room without falling.😂 Andrei sometimes came across as cold but he's patient with Mila.

There's this mystery drama that gets mentioned in Chapter 2 and waits to get resolved in Chapter 8. There's only 8 chapters and an epilogue.🤔

Mila doesn't think for herself. There's no experience, no conversations, no backstory to her aside from her being an accident waiting to happen and playing the submissive role for what Andrei wants. I expected more personality or something. He wants to be nice about the intimacy, she has her v-card, but this guy slammed in and took. Sheesh. There's spice with the Daddy kink for the sake of having a kink.🤭💋💋 No wine for you, Mila.

There is one detail about Mila and her grandfather that ties to a previous book. I think it should have played out more here. I like that connection. Andrei isn't for the syndicate then why be a vory. Thieves in law. *Slight spoiler* That's a criminal hierarchy job. It doesn't make sense for someone who's against it to then accept it.🫡 Unless more stories will be written.

If you want to read it, you should. I hope you enjoy it. Something was missing for me. The book cover is great. Happy reading.*•>§<•*🤎❤️🤎❤️🤎

The Bratva's Obsession by Cassi Hart is the fourth and final title in the Villains Of New York series and was a great read.
It is a bratva, age gap, instalove office romance and the main characters, Andrei and Mila were likeable and engaging.
Andrei Popov is a little lost and missing his sister Natalya since she found love with Viktor Balshov, brother to Alexei the Pakhan of the bratva.
Andrei has concentrated on the shipping business his father built and has been trying to move it towards legitimate enterprises. He is hesitant about love not having had the best role models with his parents but when his new younger personal assistant makes a lasting first impression on him things start to change.
Mila having recently graduated high school is drifting not having a direction in life and when she ends up working for Andrei Popov her life will never be the same again. Despite being clumsy and accident prone, issues she has in the office environment subtly change and Andrei is surprisingly calm and patient with her. The mutual attraction between them grows and sparks fly, and as time passes, their chemistry really starts to sizzle but unknown enemies and Bratva connections threaten their developing relationship.
The plot and storyline had me hooked from the start and with it's blend of intrigue, protectiveness, desire, and steam and spice, I was easily turning the pages right through to the end to see how the HEA comes about.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Bratva’s Obsession by Cassi Hart is a gripping mafia romance that blends danger, emotional growth, and a surprisingly tender love story.

Andrei is a compelling, morally gray hero trying to break free from the shadow of his father and the darkness he was raised in. His internal battle—fighting the belief that he’s destined to become a monster—adds real depth to his character. Watching him soften for Mila while still holding onto his dangerous edge makes him hard not to love.

Mila brings a refreshing contrast. She starts off uncertain and a bit lost, but her growth throughout the story is one of the highlights. With Andrei, she begins to find confidence in herself, and their dynamic—his patience and quiet encouragement paired with her vulnerability—feels both sweet and empowering.

The romance builds with a strong mix of protection, tension, and emotional connection. When Mila discovers the truth about who Andrei really is, it raises the stakes in a meaningful way, forcing both of them to confront what they’re willing to risk for love.

The danger from Andrei’s past keeps the suspense high, and when his enemies threaten Mila, it’s clear just how far he’s willing to go to protect what’s his.

If you enjoy mafia romance with possessive but evolving heroes, character growth, and a balance of softness and danger, this is an addictive and satisfying read.

You might want to make sure to double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love along the way. Andrei sexy as all get out the CEO of Popov Shipping Group his father died being the only heir left him cleaning a hot mess but he wanted to walk away from that life which he could do considering his sister was married but he was lonely his brother kept telling him to find a love of his own and that wasn’t something he wanted going by everything he saw happen in his family. Mila was sweet just graduated from high school, but she is known for her clumsiness living with her grandfather he recommends her for a job working for the CEO, something she definitely wasn’t prepared for, especially being her first job and boy her first impression wasn’t good spilling coffee all over his very expensive suite. The magnetic pull was there despite the hot mess start and the more they worked together the stronger the pull but where are they headed considering there is some smuggling going on with him being blamed, will she trust him, and will they find own happiness somewhere along the way?

Another instalment n the Villains of New York series by Cassi hart.
As with her usual flair this quick and easy Novella sweeps you up with its charm and then adds a very large dash of Smut!! Simply perfect!
For a man who has always been the protector and provider for his sister, Andrei Popov finds himself in limbo. No one to keep an eye on and no one to keep him company when he is lonely.
His brother Mikhail says he needs to finds someone to love....but love is off the table for Andrei as he watched his parents self destruct in their marriage and vowed he would never be in a position to treat a woman like that.
But in rolls Mila...his ever clumsy assistant!
He finds he has a new project. A woman that needs his help in keeping herself out of harms way.
Knowing she is just 18, and straight from schooling, he deems her too young for him, but cannot resist.
Emotions and chemistry are off the charts until finally Andrei and Mila give into their feelings.
As the son of a Bratva boss, Andrei ahs built his empire away from all the lies and deceit....but there are always enemies...
A great read as Andrei protects what is his as he bats away the threats to him and his company!
And as always Cassi does not disappoint with a great ending and HEA!

This story has a little bit of sweetness, like preventing future mishaps, indulgence that doesn't mean food, a bit of drama, and a bit of betrayal and danger. In some parts, not enough; in others, a bit weird, too much. 3.5⭐️

The cure for utter clumsiness is letting order around in and out of the bedroom. The heroine is barely legal and gives control to someone else, then dares to disobey. Doesn't she want to make decisions for herself, for her own life, or did she grow up that way without her own opinion, and is used to not caring about anything, just doing as told? The hero controls everything in the company, demanding specific order like it's some compulsion, but didn't give the impression that this is what he needs in a relationship, in the bedroom. That happens only because she blurted out a word, after which he's into it. Without knowledge, how could she say something like that? She seems naive. Being in this type of power-dynamic relationship she's just seems silly, dumb, refusing to grow up. Later, when married with kids, it's just weird. Could she make decisions for kids, raising them properly?

Andrei’s sister, Natalya, is now married and settled, running her own flower shop. And that leaves Andrei at loose ends. Mila is starting her first day at his company as his assistant, and the first thing she does is accidentally run into him, spilling coffee all over his white shirt. But once he gets a look at Mila, he doesn’t care about the coffee. All he wants is her.

There’s some thievery/smuggling going on, and Andrei is committed to figuring out who is impersonating his voice to cover up the smuggling. But he’s even more committed to Mila; from the moment he saw her, he wanted her. Enter the steamy stuff.

Mila might be young, but she’s not naïve. Her grandfather is a vor, so she understands why it’s crucial for Andrei to find out who’s using him for smuggling.

There is a short third-act breakup, which lasts less than a day. No worries here, folks, Andrei wouldn’t let her go so easily.

This book is steamy, and has a happy ending, and nobody got hurt from Mila’s clumsiness. In fact, Andrei, I daresay, finds it endearing, and entertaining. So grab this book, if you enjoy heroes who exist in the gray, and love their women fiercely.

**Breaking Free from His Father’s Chains!**

"The Bratva’s Obsession" is the fourth book in the Villains of New York Bratva series. After his father’s death, Andrei’s main focus as the new CEO of the Popov Shipping Group is to clean up the company and steer it toward a more legitimate path. The last thing he expected was to fall in love.

Mila has always been a bit awkward and clumsy, especially on her first day at work, as she tries to make a good impression. Unfortunately, she spills coffee all over Andrei, which only serves to captivate him. Both Andrei and Mila share a strong desire for one another.

As Andrei’s internal enemies start targeting Mila, he unleashes the Bratva within him and vows to do whatever it takes to protect the woman he loves, with the support of his half-brothers.

Mila and Andrei make an engaging couple in this fast-paced, enjoyable read filled with workplace romance, an age gap, suspense, drama, and plenty of spice.

A surprisingly pleasant and light Mafia romance!

This was a surprisingly, light, short and pleasant read, despite being placed in the Mafia realm. It felt more like an office romance, with an innocent, young, clumsy and adorable heroine (Mila) and a powerful CEO (Andrei) who sees her as nothing less than perfect – and his. But Andrei is not a common CEO. He is the son of the deceased Pakhan, Bratva. But he is more progressive than anyone before him was and he tries really hard to steer the business to the legitimate path. But not everyone agrees with this. So, while he and Mila explore their romance, plotting by internal enemies happens. I liked how efficiently Andrei acts and how well everything pans out, even if it was predictable for the most part and the Mafia aspect is not that prominent. 4 stars.

Andrei Popov, CEO of Popov Shipping Group, is drowning in the mess his late father left behind. With his sister married and no one left to protect, he feels empty. His half-brother urges him to find love, but Andrei wants nothing to do with it—until Mila.
Mila Voronin is an eighteen-year-old fresh out of high school, struggling with extreme clumsiness and job stability. Her grandfather recommends her for a position she doesn’t realize is with the CEO himself.
Their meeting is unforgettable—literally crashing. Andrei, who tolerates nothing, finds himself understanding and drawn to her. Desire grows, the boss-employee line blurs, and danger from his father’s past creeps in.
Can their unlikely love survive his secret life? Will Mila still feel the same once she learns the truth?
A sweet, heartfelt story about an unlikely couple finding magic in love. Enjoyable read!.

This is anther engaging addition to the series and I love that Andrei found his place in the world again. This is a man that defined himself as a protector of his sister but he's been a bit rudderless with her now married. In walks Mila, his new PA, and not only is she beautiful, she seems to trigger all his protective needs. Mila can't seem to find her purpose in life. Well, her new job showcases all her klutziness and her lack of awareness of her surroundings...until she hears what she shouldn't. Plagued with sabotage in steering his businesses to the legitimate side of life, he's suddenly desperate to save Mila. Expect to get caught up in the drama, danger, intrigue, twists, chemistry and spicy romance as these two work their way to a fab HEA. I really enjoyed it and look forward to the next book :D

Mila is super clumsy and she is starting her brand new job today and she is so stressing to make a good impression to she can keep it. Andrei has been missing his sister since she got married. He had always taken care of her. He walks into his place of employment and the next thing he knows is his new assistant is spilling coffee on his shirt and dragging him to the women's bathroom to clean it off. There is something about this dynamic woman that captures his attention. With all her clumsiness he finds himself changing things in the workplace to keep her from making these little mistakes she does. This was such a fun read as you see this cute couple make their way through their relationship. I enjoyed this immensely. This is a definite must read!

Well, that was a quick read. Too quick. The author had gotten better at allowing the story to develop a bit more slowly. This was super-fast even for an instalove. The Villain part made no sense. He's the stepbrother of the actual bratva members and has nothing to do with that business. He somehow was able to buy or become head of a company within days after talking to a brother about it. No real idea about the business. Mila didn't even go to college but somehow is hired as his assistant but does very little office work. It issues like that in which the reader wants to grit their teeth. This is where the story needs more development. The author has the spice, but the plot has many holes. This book is an absolute obsession for me. Honestly this entire series has been, and this book was no exception to that. Mila and Andrei are utter perfection in this story. Mila is so relatable and hilarious. Her clumsiness is…persistent and makes for some interesting moments. But it only makes her that much more adorable and likable. And the way Andrei softens only for her has me swooning immediately. He’s so commanding but gentle with her. And I couldn’t have loved it more. The connection they share is intense and the chemistry between them is a blazing inferno. Andrei is so protective of her. And will do everything in his power to make sure she is safe and happy. Of course there’s danger and intrigue and tension galore. But everything pays off with that ending we got. Perfection.

I usually find Cassi Hart books to be light and entertaining. With the exception of this one. It was Bratva-adjacent more than Bratva. And a very boring boss x secretary workplace romance. With a bunch of very pedestrian sex. It was like reading through mud: a slog. What capped it all off was the whole her-calling-him-daddy thing. That was done in a way that was definitely creepy rather than sexxxy. The sex scenes were even more cringeworthy with that addition, and it was so artificial that it had the atmosphere of a rather ugly word that begins with an i. Nope, didn’t care for this book; still love Cassi Hart. I’m sure her next book will be better.

Wasn't sure on this one with the way it started but it got better and better.

Andrei is lost now that his sister is married and he no longer needs to protect her. When Mikhail suggests finding a woman, he laughs. Andrei doesn't do relationships. He is to busy running the business.

When another assistant is fired, Mila accepts the job. Young and naive, she has no clue what she is getting into. On the first day, she spills coffee on Andrei. When they go to fire her, Andrei steps in. He is drawn to her and wants her to stay.

As they embark on a relationship, Andrei finds out shipments are not being accounted for. Who would betray him?

When Mila is caught in the middle, can Andrei protect her?.

This is Book 4 of the Villains of New York series, as an interconnected standalone. The book is a short read, a novella.

I enjoyed Mila & Andrei's story... I immediately fell in love with the characters & wanted to see them work things out. The book is fast paced with mild suspense and a happily ever after.

*Bratva
*he's her boss
*she's a virgin
*dark/morally grey
*age gap
*possessive/"touch her & die"
*romantic suspense

Spice level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

I love the Villains of New York series and this story between Andrei and Mila is a great instalment. Cassi writes Bratva romance so well and this is no exception. An addictive romance, Andrei doesn’t think he deserves to be loved and Mila is a lost soul. Andrei trying to stay free from the family business and go straight but there are evil plans from within and when they threaten Mila, Andrei doesn’t hold back. I hate that this is the 4th and final instalment as I could continue to read these books. If you love Bratva romance you’ll love this series.

Part of a series, but the villainy in this book is tame. There is no violence but there are undertones of ill will. There are references to the Bratva involvement which some may not understand ie vor/vory.
It is described as age gap, but Mila is eighteen and Andrei is only eight years older, so the sexual Daddy references are rather cringy. It doesn't seem to add to the relationship. She is clumsy beyond belief, falling over and crashing into anything and everything around her. He is protective, but sees it as endearing.
Not my favourite edition..not bad, but not great reading hence the 3*, middle rating.

Andrei is the CEO of his company, still dealing with the aftermath of his father’s death and his take over. Then comes is new assistant. It’s her first job and let’s just say she is clumsy and naive and so far out of her depth. But Andrei is patient and tender and makes room for her to be her, completely against his normal character. She doesn’t know about his other life and as things heat up will she be able to be part of his world? This is a great addition to this excellent series and just like all the books in this series you will love the characters, the story line and you won’t want to put this book down.

Mila has always been accident prone. She has lost several jobs because of her clumsiness. She gets a job as a favor to her grandfather who raised her. Her first day at work she collides into her boss with a hot cup of coffee. Andrei has a reputation for going through assistants until Mila crashes into him. This quickly becomes their love story. It is hot fast paced with a twist mafia style. I enjoyed their banter and chemistry. The characters are well written. It is also a mystery that has to be solved. The author fid a great job.

Book 4 of the Villains of New York series. Can be read as a standalone.

'But just as I’m falling in love, I learn Andrei isn’t who I thought he was. In fact, he’s everything I’ve been determined to avoid. Now I have to decide if loving Andrei is worth the risk.'

The characters were very appealing and complex and complicated and perfectly steamy together. Plot was intriguing and intense and well paced. World building was excellent and solidly drawn. All in all a great addition to the series. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend!

The Bravta's Obsession is a short insta-love, age-gap story.

Andrei swears he will never fall in love, too occupied with his business and trying not to repeat his father's mistakes.
Mila has been assigned as his new assistant, he makes her nervous, which causes her clumsiness to increase.
A run in with the morning coffee delivery, leads to a very spicy and protective change to their relationship.

Another fantastic read from Cassi.

Andrei doesn't feel like he has a purpose anymore since his sister has married. He has no one to protect or care for. And he wants nothing to do with marriage and a family until he sees his new assistant Mila. No all he sees is someone he needs to care for an protect. Mila is clumsy and tends to always get in trouble but it doesn't seem to faze Andrei. Fast paced fun sweet with some steam read, loved Andrei and Mila, great characters. This is book 4 of the Villians of New York and I'm hoping there's more. Loved it.
