Freya Vale-Thorne was born to be Luna of Silvercrest.
For ten years, she stood at Alpha Kade’s side as his wife, his counselor, and the mother of his children. She gave him everything. But on the night of the pack’s grand masquerade, Freya watches her husband crown his mistress, Izel, as “lady of the house.” Her children call the other woman Mama. And her wolf, silent for six long years, finally speaks again.
‘Leave,’ she tells her.
Freya has thirty days to obey that command. Poison seeps through her veins, betrayal surrounds her in every corridor, and her crown lies locked away in her husband’s safe. As whispers of witches, ancient magic, and a forgotten destiny begin to surface, Freya must reclaim the strength she lost—and the power that was always hers. Even if it means turning to the one man her pack calls a Rowan Briar, the Rogue King of Nightfell.
Freya may be broken, but she is still the Luna. And she will not go quietly.
Rise of the Rejected Luna is a fast-paced, paranormal shifter fantasy about betrayal, healing, and the woman who learns that sometimes the greatest revenge is simply rising again—perfect for readers who enjoy werewolves, court intrigue, witches, and slow-burn romantic tension.
But everything felt off? The writing was more quick tells than, so much information just stated instead of learned naturally through the story, it lacked depth and emotion. Which we only got a little of at the beginning.
Everything went sooooo smoothly, too perfect. Like all her problems were suddenly being solved but by other people, I felt there was no struggle even though she spent years struggling. That struggle wasn’t written so we as the readers never got to feel that. If that makes sense?
This story surprised me a lot. I was expecting a story about a weak female character, driven by the bond she shares with the alpha, but instead I found a strong, determined character who, above all, isn't swayed by her feelings for her mate. The story is refreshing, entertaining, and not overly long, which can easily lead to it feeling weak. It's just the right length, allowing you to appreciate how each aspect develops without it feeling rushed.
Well written but the dialogue definitely felt stiff. Super quick surface filler read. If you're in the mood for a ridiculous story and conflict that begins and ends within a page, go for it. It was entertaining for the moment.
The Alpha’s Betrayal: Rise of the Rejected Luna ~~ I read this book on Kindle, and right from the beginning the story pulled me in with the emotional betrayal and the powerful rise of a woman who refuses to stay broken. Freya Vale-Thorne has spent ten years standing beside her mate, Alpha Kade, as his wife, counselor, and Luna. She gave everything to her pack, her family, and her Alpha. But the story begins with a shocking betrayal that completely changes her life. During the pack’s grand masquerade, Freya watches as the man she trusted most reveals his true loyalty — and it isn’t to her. That moment alone sets the tone for the entire book. What made this story so gripping for me was watching Freya transform from a betrayed Luna into someone much stronger. Instead of falling apart, she begins to rise. She’s wounded, angry, and determined, and the author does a great job showing her emotional struggle while she slowly starts reclaiming her power. Alpha Kade is exactly the kind of character readers love to hate. His betrayal cuts deep, and it becomes clear that power, politics, and ambition have shaped many of his decisions. The tension between him and Freya creates some intense scenes, especially as the consequences of his actions begin to unfold. One of the most interesting parts of the story is the introduction of Howan Briar, the Rogue King of Nightfell. His presence adds another layer of mystery and protection around Freya. As the story progresses, it becomes clear that Freya’s future may be much bigger than the life she once lived inside Silvercrest pack. There’s a lot of pack politics, revenge, healing, and second-chance possibilities woven throughout the story. The book does a great job building suspense as Freya begins to realize that sometimes the greatest power comes from rising after being rejected. By the end of the book, Freya’s journey is only beginning. There are still many secrets, alliances, and power shifts waiting to unfold, which makes the next part of the story feel very promising. I would definitely recommend this book and series and can’t wait to start on the next book. If you want to know what happens next, you’ll just have to read this series yourself ~ you won’t regret it.
Not a romance, zero spice, Paranormal werewolves and witches
Not a romance
Good story, engaging, but this is not described accurately in the synopsis. It says it’s a low spice read. No, it is a zero spice read. Which is fine, just don’t be dishonest in your description to draw in readers. I can’t even say it’s an open or closed door romance because there aren’t even any bedroom doors! The writing is fine, the plot is engaging, but, I came for a paranormal romance, and that is not what was delivered.
They could have at the very least thrown in as background noise what happens to the FMC and her childhood friend/our assumption male romantic lead. There is insinuation, so if you are a fan of vaguely alluded to romance plots and climaxes, then this book just might be for you.
Usually I am impressed by books of this length. Unfortunately, I think it rubbed me the wrong way primarily because it was misclassified and not honest is describing itself as a romance.
I’m really tempted to put 3 stars, but, if the description was accurate and described this as a paranormal shifter/werewolf, witch read and I were going to judge on its merits along, I’d go with a four.
I’d Recommend this quick read to those looking for a paranormal, shifter/werewolf, court intrigue, witches, and magic.
You know those ppc stories that lure you in with betrayal and try to hook you with vengeance and justice? This is that, but better.
The FMC is the Luna of the Silvercrest pack that has been cast aside by her husband/ mate for the evil OW.
The story revolves around the FMC reclaiming her power and place with a little help from friends.
I enjoyed the writing and the storyline, the reason this isnt higher rated for me is because there are alot of plot holes and continuity errors. Like the fact that the FMC'S luna mark moved from the back of her neck to her collarbone depending on who was recalling it. Additionally some of the fight scenes dont make much sense. The FMC turns into her wolf but still has arms to hold a sword.
I think this book tells a decent story, but it fails to generate much emotion.
Freya is the Luna of her pack, and we are told she’s been suffering for the past several years as her husband, Kade, cheats on her, his mistress, Izel, steals her kids, and she’s publicly disrespected.
There’s no background or flashbacks to generate any feelings about Kade and Freya’s relationship, so the fact that it’s now broken doesn’t mean much.
There are a few plot holes that you could drive a truck through. But I think the lack of character development is what kills this book.
For instance… Is Izel a wolf? Is her mother? They never shift and only ever demonstrate witch powers, and the book doesn’t clarify.
I don't write reviews often. I couldn't put this book down and finished within 24hrs of picking it up! I loved that the story stayed on point and didn't have any useless portions to the story!! Every part flowed all the way to the end! My favorite part was the female lead was truly a strong character... You saw her doubts and insecurities but she didn't become whiny or flip flopping... She stayed strong while dealing with her reality...
Was a good quick read. I do feel that we should of had a little more in regards to Kade and what he does as a father, if anything. What actually happened with Fraya and Rowan. Did they mate and he became alpha. A few questions I feel should have been answered. All that aside, I enjoyed reading it. A POV from Rowan would have been nice and more than 1 from Kade also. Still good and enjoyable.
Great little story with good characters. Could easily have been made longer with some characters having more involvement. I don't like story lines that are "historical". Gowns, crowns, castles etc don't do it for me. I prefer stories to be set in modern times. This was well worth a read though and I'm glad I read it. I'd have loved it to have had a wider story line though. I would read this author again though.
Good use of the timer plot point, and a fan of the thematic writing.
One gripe: the male characters need development. They’re somewhat too NPC and contrived. I figured it was a sacrifice for brevity and MFC development in a newer author, so didn’t take off a star, but more layered complexity to them (*cough* Jax *cough*) would bring it up a notch.
Had a good premise but then just threw plot lines and never fleshed anything out. Entire conflicts were introduced and concluded in the span of a breath. I wanted a quick trashy read, but I guess I need to be careful what I ask for. Shame, could’ve been amazing if it took the time.
I enjoy shifter books, but they are hard to come by and if I do find one it usually don’t have a good flow. Ride of the rejected Luna had a great flow: could hardly put it down. Will definitely be reading more from this author.
This book was written very and well. It keeps you hooked until the end. I have read lots of books and this one has become one of my favorite reads. Highly recommended read.
I like this story it is a story of a woman that did not let a man break her. She knew her worth she knew her value and it made her stronger. It shows that women can rule the world
This story while promising, just doesn't follow for some reason...pacing, continuity, and background are missing which can leave the reader a bit confused. I finished it due to the short length, but found myself a little unsatisfied.
I like to read books that have a good story and not too much back ground detail. This book is to the point but a nice read. Good characters and expected ending but nice
Well written and a great story. Freya gained her strength and powers and became the luna she was born to be. The book kept me interested from start to finish. Fabulous!!!!!
This book is a good read, if you like betrayed Of course she has to fight through betrayal (cheating Alpha Husband). An adversary who is extra (I won't give away more than that, but off course she triumphs in the end. But overall, worth reading.
I liked this one. So many books in this genre are very poorly written, so over the top ridiculous, or super poorly edited. I liked that there was substance to the story without unnecessary vulgar language and too many sex scenes that are nothing but filler. In fact, this was totally closed door.
This was good reading. Freya and the other characters, even the evil ones, are well rounded and we'll thought out. The only thing I wasn't sure of was the ambiguous mating signs. There were no fated mates. But the way it was written was also fairly satisfying.
This was everything I needed after tiktok kept taunting me with their stupid story ads. This has betrayal, hidden agendas, soft romance, and a great ending. If you need something fast and enjoyable this is it.
