Dark Obsession

Rate this book
Dara is a cocky tomboy working as a deputy sheriff for her Uncle, the Sheriff of Kainlen County. In rural Mississippi that meant speed traps, boredom, and her uniform sticking to her skin as she tries to avoid the sweltering summer heat. And then she meets Emery, a mountain of black flesh, his body rippling with muscles, glistening in the hot sun, his face sullen with anger and resentment. In an instant, she becomes obsessed, her body afire, her mind overpowered by her own uncontrolled lust. What a wicked, wicked thing it would be to have sex with a Black man! And not just any Black man, for Emery was just out of prison, full of rage and violence. As her obsession batters down her pride, Dara is beaten, brutalized, and humiliated again and again, given to other men, and made the focus of all their revenge, anger and savage lust.

I was recommended to read this book but couldn't find it in e book format. Well I went hunting and here it is...... Black Man's Bitch by J.J. Argus .

What I liked most about this story was the style in which it was written. It was pragmatic and at times matter of fact. I think this added to the story rather than detract....it felt very true to life and plausible.

It is a story about objectification and being true to who you are. It was raw, brutal and a journey of unconventional self discovery.

Dark Obsession is one of my all time favourites.
This is a deliciously dark story of a young woman who encounters a dangerous man that she knows is all wrong for her, but whom speaks directly to her hidden desires making it impossible for her to stay away from him.
It's written in what I've come to know as Argus direct language that is nearly all action, while still letting the lead characters grow in the mind of the reader and evolve through the story.
