Guilt followed her across an ocean. Grace called her home.
Desperate to leave Hooke Manor, Keely Boyle does what she feels she must in order to flee England for America, hoping to make a new life with the help of a man who befriended her years before. But when she arrives at Eden’s Gate, a large cattle ranch in the shadows of the Tetons, it is William Overstreet who offers her a fresh start.
William—a steady, God-fearing man—doesn’t need the complications falling for the pretty Irish immigrant would bring. He has enough problems already: water on the range has been poisoned and cattle are dying. But even as danger stalks the ranch, William can’t stop himself from being drawn to Keely’s fiery spirit and winsome ways.
When Keely’s secret sin is exposed, her world—and the love she’s come to cherish—teeters on the edge of ruin. But through danger and redemption, both she and William will find that belonging isn’t a matter of where they stand, but Whose grace holds them fast.
Set against the rugged beauty of 1890s Idaho, To Find Where She Belongs is a tender story of redemption, love, and the God who can turn even our deepest shame into belonging.

To Find Where She Belongs is book #5 in The British Are Coming series, but I write all of my series books to stand alone. While characters from previous books make appearances in later books, a reader won't be lost wherever they start. (Naturally, I hope you'll want to go back and read other books in the series, too.)
I love this love story between Keely and William, and I can't wait for others to read the book.
Update: The audiobook version is beginning to show up in online retailers, and Ann Marie Gideon has done a wonderful job with the narration!
Keely Boyle’s story is written in the space between what was done to her and the courage it took to keep standing. She was afraid. She was brave. Her courage did not roar or demand attention; it showed itself in small, faithful choices made day after day, even while vulnerability remained. To Find Where She Belongs understands that kind of strength, and it honors it without spectacle.
Robin Lee Hatcher writes Keely with deep compassion and moral clarity. Keely runs when staying becomes unsafe, and later she carries the weight of decisions made under pressure. The story is careful to distinguish between conviction and shame, and that distinction matters. One passage speaks with pastoral wisdom and anchors the entire journey: “Conviction is a good and healthy emotion… Shame is different. It is a tool of the enemy… I would encourage you to run to God, Miss Boyle, not away from Him.” That truth shapes Keely’s path forward and reframes how she begins to see herself through God’s eyes rather than her past.
William Overstreet is a gift of a character. He is steady, patient, and deeply rooted in his relationship with God. His faith is lived. He understands purpose in daily obedience and finds contentment in the life God has placed before him: “To be content in the life God had given him. Purpose existed in this place, in his work, and in the people he was responsible for.” William feels clearly called by God for many things, including being present for Keely with gentleness, integrity, and restraint. What deeply moved me is that Keely is also there for him. Their relationship unfolds by God’s design, marked by mutual care, respect, and timing shaped by His sovereignty.
Faith in this story feels authentic and relational. Prayer is natural, honest, and woven into daily life rather than reserved for moments of crisis alone. Scripture is lived and trusted. Keely’s questions about God felt sincere and human: Was He near. Was He guiding. Was she truly held. Her mother’s remembered words echo with quiet assurance: “He has yourself in the palm of His hand… You can trust Him with the future.” That promise becomes something Keely slowly learns to believe again.
The setting of Eden’s Gate includes work, responsibility, danger, and community all serving the deeper work God is doing in these lives. Obedience matters. Loyalty matters. The way faith is lived out touches William and Keely … and everyone around them, showing how devotion to Jesus shapes character, relationships, and choices.
I loved this book. I did not want to set it down. To Find Where She Belongs is rich, emotionally resonant, and filled with light. It can absolutely be read as a standalone. This story reflects the beauty of authentic faith lived out loud and poured into relationships.
This story will speak to readers who carry fear, want to be brave, and long to believe that God’s amazing grace continually reaches into the places they have survived. Hope here arrives slowly, through truth, safety, and the steady presence of Almighty God.
I received a digital ARC of this book from the author via BookSirens. I was not required to write a positive review and was not compensated in any way. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own and reflect my honest evaluation of the writing, content, and narration.
This continues to be an enjoyable series tying England and America together. In this fifth novel, Irish lass Keely escapes to America after being physically threatened in the house she served. The problem is she stole money and jewelry to pay for her fare. The guilt is tearing her up.
Ranch owner William isn't looking for a wife, but his heart is pulled to Keely when she arrives at his ranch seeking work.
I look forward to reading the conclusion to the series.
Robin Lee Hatcher has once again delivered a beautiful, emotionally stirring story in To Find Where She Belongs.
Set against the backdrop of frontier America, this novel follows Keely as she tries to rebuild her life after leaving everything familiar behind. Hatcher captures both the external hardships of a new land and the internal battles of guilt, doubt, and self-worth with remarkable grace.Keely’s journey is heartfelt and deeply relatable. Her struggle to view herself through God’s eyes rather than her past mistakes offers readers a profound message about mercy and divine forgiveness.
I loved how the novel weaves faith so naturally into its storytelling—never heavy-handed, but always heartfelt. The romance that blossoms amidst this spiritual renewal is tender, uplifting, and rooted in mutual respect and forgiveness. This is more than a love story—it’s a testament to God’s unwavering grace and the hope that springs when we surrender our plans for His.
To Find Where She Belongs is a must-read for fans of historical Christian romance, especially those who appreciate stories that balance faith, heartache, and redemption with authenticity and grace.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Thank you to Book Sirens for providing a free advance reader’s copy so that I could offer my honest review.
To Find Where She Belongs by Robin Lee Hatcher is a beautiful story filled with hope, faith, and a touch of mystery. I keep turning the pages and it had a difficult time putting it down. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Keely escapes England for very difficult reasons, including a dark past, and travels to America in hopes of finding a man she considers a “friend”—unaware that he does not know she is coming, but believing he may be able to help her.
William, the owner of the ranch where Keely unexpectedly arrives, wants to help her after learning parts of her story. Though he feels he has little to offer, he finds himself deeply interested in getting to know her more. Meanwhile, mysterious events begin happening around the ranch, and William becomes determined to uncover what is going on—while also wrestling with the feelings growing in his heart for Keely.

Robin Lee Hatcher’s latest release To Find Where She Belongs is a delightful escape in Ms. Hatcher’s series set in the 1890s, The British Are Coming! Fiery redhead Keely Boyle escapes her job as a housemaid at England’s Hooke Manor after unwanted advances from a coworker force her to head to Eden’s Gate Ranch in Idaho. Hoping to see her friend Roger Bernhardt at Eden’s Gate, Keely comes face-to-face with William Overstreet, owner of Eden’s Gate Ranch, instead. William Overstreet doesn’t take his life and role to steward Eden’s Gate Ranch for granted—he just wishes he had someone to share it with. When Keely shows up at William’s doorstep, William instantly offers Keely a job and a place to stay. Keely is thankful for God providing Eden’s Gate Ranch as a refuge, but guilt and secrets as to how she was able to get to Eden’s Gate Ranch hold her back from the Freedom only God can give. As they begin working together on the Ranch, sparks begin to fly between Owner and Housemaid. William believes Keely is the one God has for him. Keely, while feeling the same way, believes William will want nothing to do with her once he knows all of her secrets.
Every time I read a Robin Lee Hatcher book I know that it will give me a perfect and safe escape that I am meant to read! I am thankful that I escaped into To Find Where She Belongs when I did! I enjoyed seeing William again and getting to know him better as much as I loved the spitfire that Keely brought to the storyline! My heart ached for some of what Keely went through in the book. I appreciated how Ms. Hatcher went about it in the storyline—not judging Keely, but showing the Reader that if the shoe was on the other foot, you might have done the same thing Keely did to survive. I appreciate how William took Keely in and offered her a job and a place to live when she needed it. For me, I felt like Keely and William’s relationship went too fast, but I understand that it’s the perfect pace for length of the book. I just wanted more details of the story and when I got to the end I was left wanting more! (Which is a good thing!) I appreciated how Ms. Hatcher wrote Keely’s struggles with God and am thankful that Ms. Hatcher wrote it in such a way that you could see Keely’s determination to work through them long after To Find Where She Belongs ends. I understood William’s loneliness and appreciated that when God convicted him in his relationship with Keely, he did his best to make it right. I love the thread of Forgiveness that is woven through the plot and how Ms. Hatcher beautifully illustrated what it truly means in the book. If you are looking for a sweet escape that shows the Meaning of God’s Forgiveness regardless of our life’s history, then I highly recommend To Find Where She Belongs by Robin Lee Hatcher!

My review is also on my blog, Leslie’s Library Escape.
Fleeing 'a fate worse than death', Keely does things she's far from proud of to escape her situation and reach safety in America. But when the man she hoped to get help from turns out to be newly married and not living at the address she has, she's forced to throw herself on a stranger's mercy for a job. Something about the woman he's taken on as a maid intrigues William, but getting to know her is awkward in her position of dependence, particularly after he hears her reason for leaving England. Worse, his cattle appear to be being poisoned, and he's kept busy trying to keep them safe. In the quiet moments, they start to develop a relationship - but can it survive her secrets?
An inspiring read, and I really enjoyed getting to know both Keely and William, not to mention William's friends and workers (okay, and Rowdy). I loved the way William cared not just for her but for all those depending on him - and his patience with Keely in particular. It was also interesting to see a young Irish maid facing the different world in America, where things (at least in that circle) weren't all about class in the way she was used to. It was great to see her gradually blossom when treated properly. My one quibble would be that the poisoner's actions didn't make sense to me. They're not the sorts of thing you do for no reason, and there seemed no valid reason for him doing it. That aside, I really enjoyed the story and particularly the thread of faith woven through. Recommended.

This was an enjoyable, sweet, historical romance, that was the April book choice for the 2026 Christian Fiction Reading Challenge. Although part of a series, this was easy to read as a standalone. I was invested in the story but do wish the ending felt more complete, as it seemed somewhat rushed. I would have like to see a little more depth to William and Keely’s relationship and was disappointed that we didn’t get more detail on the motive behind the ranch mystery. This was my first book by this author, but look forward to reading more by her. I really liked how the faith element added to the story.
An absolutely fantastic Christian historical western romance fiction novel with great characters, beautifully detailed descriptions of the area, amazing and suspenseful story line with romance, and a happily ever after that keeps you turning the pages, and losing track of time while you’re reading. I enjoyed the book so very much and highly recommend it. I look forward to reading the next one in line and want to go back and read the books I missed as soon as I can.

4.5 stars I thoroughly enjoyed this book! This is not a book I would have picked up on my own, however it was the book club choice for the month, so I gave it a shot. Now, I am ready to read more Robin Lee Hatcher stories! Thankful for the book club that has led me to authors I haven’t read before.
This is a sweet, gentle romance with Christian faith front and center. Robin Lee Hatcher paints a stunning picture of ranching in the old west with sweeping scenery and innocent characters. This is a very family friendly read and beautiful testament to Christian faith and forgiveness.
Thoroughly enjoyable! The story of a young Irish lass, Keely, who escapes a bad situation in England and ends up on a ranch in Idaho expecting to find an acquaintance only to learn he lives nearby but is married. William, owner of the ranch, hires her and gives her shelter.
Sweet and old fashioned, but thankfully not cheesy. Great characters, beautiful setting, and quick but believable romance. Horses and mystery and fresh starts. I was impressed by this book more than I expected I would be.
This is such a delightful romance between an Irish maid (Keely) fleeing a difficult situation where she works in England--now a liar and a thief--and the kind owner (William) of a cattle ranch in Idaho. England's rules and strict title system by lineage. How she ended up in Idaho is a twist in the story, as well as the connection between William and the woman Keely stole from. Sweet sufferin' cats!
I was unable to read books 3 & 4 due to access but enjoyed #5 and got updates from characters from the first 2 books. I liked the FMC stubbornness and how she fought for herself and didn't ask for pity.
SWEET SUFFERING CATS! What a delightful book with a wonderful storylin This book, as well as others that this author has written, This book, as well as others that this author has written, is something I just cannot put-down. It holds the interest in such an exciting way. I always look forward to the next book that Robin Lee Hatcher has written.
I chose this rating because these books are wonderful. Each one is a fun and enjoyable experience. The era in which they are written are my favorite. Robin Led Hatcher is a great author. Don't miss one of them.
A very sweet story, as were the previous titles in this series. Robin writes delightful historical romances with lovely characters and vivid descriptions. Its hard to put them down once you start - just sweet. This one I wished that the "mystery" plotline would have been developed a bit more. It was wrapped up fine, but the suspense was a good portion of the story, and the mystery was just abruptly solved. A little more of the solving would have been nice.
Robin Lee Hatcher continues her The British Are Coming Series. So glad she did. It's based in the Tetons. I've been there once. It is totally unreal. Perfect location for this wonderful story.
Keely flees her homeland as danger lurks. She does what she had to to escape even if is completely against her nature.
Something or someone is endangering his ranch. His cattle and water source has been poisoned.
Attraction between the two is instant. But William being a GOD fearing man tries to keep his distance. Do you think that works? Keely has a secret that can ruin everything.
A very nice, gentle read with a character you feel for as she struggles to find her place and forgiveness. She lands with good people and grows. There's also a mystery folded in.
To Find Where She Belongs by Robin Lee Hatcher is the fifth book in the The British Are Coming series. It's a captivating, well-written story based on Christian principles. A beautiful story of hope and love in the old wild west. The story has wonderful, lifelike characters that you get to know well. It was nice to have a glimpse into the life of that day.
I enjoyed the characters and the faith interwoven through the book. A bit of mystery gave it further interest and a more intriguing story. This is a well written book with a HEA. I highly recommend it. I received an ARC copy and this is my voluntary review.
