Margo Harper is done with love. After swearing off it once before, she fell for the safe bet, the sure thing…but the only thing she can be sure of now is that her marriage is over. With only one place to go, she returns to Maine, desperate for her grandmother’s pancakes, her sisters’ laughter, and maybe a chance to begin again.
But while Margo may have run home, she doesn’t plan on staying, especially when she comes face to face with the first man who ever broke her heart. Eddie’s reappearance in Oyster Bay is reason enough to turn the car around, but Margo is even more troubled when she discovers nothing in her hometown is quite as she left it.
Her older sister is selling their childhood house, her younger sister can’t get her life together, and their aging grandmother can no longer keep any of their names straight. But just when it starts to feel like all is lost, Margo finds herself at a crossroads that leaves her questioning what is worth fighting for…and where she truly belongs.

When she realizes her husband is having an affair, Margo races home to Oyster Bay. There, she reconnects with her two sisters, an old flame, and small town life. The grandmother's three story house, which has served as home base for the family all their lives, is about to be sold to provide funds for Grandma's assisted living facility. Big sister Bridget, always the responsible one, is the conflicted realtor. Margo, steamrolled into a loveless marriage by the guy's overbearing mother, is starting to think she needs a new start. And youngest sister Abby is the family's free spirit. Parents are dead.
This story was predicable and not very emotionally involving.
Insightful writing with believable characters who I rooted for.
This book surprised me.
It had a well-developed plot with a few twists and turns I didn’t see coming.
Some parts were a teeny bit predictable, like the fate of the house and Margo’s decision.
I found one sister a bit too on the periphery of the story but adding in her perspective would have been difficult and added quite a few pages. It was just a bit strange that there were three sisters and one had no real story. (Although maybe that WAS her story.)
One ex’s suddenly benevolence bothered me as I seemed completely out of line with his previous actions.
If it wasn't so easy to read and I was listening to an audio version while I did other stuff, I never would have bother to finish this book. There really wasn't much to it. Rather than develop characters, the author developed problems for a couple of the characters. Then the author just solved the problems in unlikely ways. I wish real like could just work out that way, but this story is definitely not real life. I can't imagine were she's going with this series, and I'm not going to find out.
Couldn't finish it. Not enough substance beyond divorce & new infatuations. Tired feelings, descriptions, & relationships. Felt like Jr high school & high school.l
I was given an advanced copy of the book to read and them give a review.
Every time I know Olivia Miles is putting out a new book I can hardly wait for how the story is going to go. This was another one that I couldn't put down and stayed up way too late two nights in a row to finish it. I highly recommend it and here is a brief summary, as I don't want to give too much away.
What would you do if you had found out your husband of ten years had cheated on you? You grab random things and head home. That's exactly what Margo did in the book. She no sooner gets into town and her high school boyfriend, who is a cop, pulls her over. Needless to say she is surprised, and as I look back shows one of many things that has changed since Margo left town. As the book continues, you soon learn that since she had lived so far from home that she had distanced herself and a lot of things had changed and hadn't stayed the same (similar to how life goes). In her mind things had stayed the same and not changed. As she is home, she starts to learn to deal with the indiscretions of her husband and dealing with everything that has changed. As the book goes, with the help of her family and her high school boyfriend she learns to deal with the past and get closure while dealing with all the changes life had thrown at her. I highly recommend this book and I can't wait for the next one to come out.
I read four books by this author in quick succession. Each one can be read in a couple of days and was a nice break from historical fiction. (Goodreads would not let me add stars, but I would give them 3-4 stars.) The stories take place in a small town, Oyster Bay, Maine, where everyone knows your name, your family, your background, and your business—typical small town. (My family comes from a small town.) The setting is a lovely beach community filled with quirky characters. Olivia Miles is a good storyteller.
The main characters are Bridget, Margo and Abby, who are sisters; their grandmother, Mimi, who now lives at Serenity Hills after leaving the stove turned on, and their cousins, Hannah and Evie, who are in town for Bridget's wedding. Hannah and Evie are at turning points in their lives and decide to stay for awhile.
Margo, Abby, and Hannah all reconnect with long-ago boyfriends. The stories are sentimental but not too much so. The first story is about Margo who has been living in the South returns when her husband cheats on her and Eddie, her bad-boy high school boyfriend who is now the police chief.
Feels Like Home by Olivia Miles is the first book in her newest Oyster Bay series. Well, I would like to move to Oyster Bay! The ocean and beach and picturesque homes complete with the chilly Fall weather and unique restaurants, shops and characters all combine for a very lovely setting for this second chance romance! I love that there are three sisters - Margo, Bridget and Abby - can't wait to hear each story! Margo returns home to basically to collect her thoughts amidst the emotional chaos she feels now that her marriage is uncertain. Her sisters, grandmother and other family, and her hometown are the perfect remedy, soothing her spirit and helping her to discover that she can and will rebuild her life and be happy. As she encounters her first love, Eddie, and picks up a friendship with him, Margo is faced with that true and passionate love she felt all those years ago. I've read many books by OM, all of them the type that make you root for the heroine, swoon over the hero, and just make you feel good inside! I love her stories and each time I read one it becomes my new favorite. Looking forward to more Oyster Bay!
This was a really good story. I could totally understand Margo. Ash did not deserve her. I really respected Eddie and how he admitted he wanted to kiss her but didn't do it since she and Ash were still married and hadn't made any decisions yet. It was really realistic because it does take time to process your emotions, et cetera after a split. I also like how Ryan and Bridget worked out their differences to coparent. The 3 sisters were all raised the same but had very distinct personalities and that's like my siblings and I. We have commonalities but we're all very different. The ending was good because there was no nice tidy bow. So I imagine we'll hear more about Margo and Eddie in the next book as we hear Bridget's story.

A romantic easy read with no sex not even kissing. Unusual in a romance novel. Really nicely developed story of family that gets busy and looses closeness after they grow up. Then when the sister moved hundreds of miles away catches her husband cheating and run home to her hometown. Then she runs into the boy who she loved and had to leave. The story gets better and ends happily. Going to read the second book. But would have loved to read more affection and loving. So four stars cause I don't need graphic sex to enjoy a book but more physical caring and loving would have improved the book.
It may be that I haven't actually read a traditional genre romance before (apart from Georgette Heyer). I didn't realize how relatively short the book would be. This means that the formula is very evident, since the characters don't have much time to develop, and it's rather easy to guess who ends up with whom. The strengths of the book are the well-evoked location and the range of characters that inhabit it, some of whom will appear in future novels. It's a good read if you need a quick distraction, but probably won't linger long in the mind.
This book was just what I needed. A fun and sweet story set in a small town in Maine. The descriptions made the images jump off the page. The story of the three Sisters Margo,Abby and Bridget and their individual stories makes this book perfect for sequels I willlook forward to. Margo catches her HUsband cheating on her ringing her back to her hometown of Oyster Bay (love the name). She catches up with her Sisters, Grandmother and past flame. Deciding the next steps her life will take is the rest of the story. I am ready for book 2; Along Came You. Enjoy.
Good summer fluff to read on the beach. I enjoyed the interaction between the sisters, although I'd like to get more into their family background story. I wanted to see more of why the family home was so important to the girls - I get that the death of their parents and the declining health of Mimi would affect them this way, but a few flashbacks set in the home would have attached the reader more to the house.
I really enjoyed reading this delightful story. This is the first novel I have read by Olivia Miles. I very much like her style of writing. I am looking forward to reading the next story in the Oyster Bay series as well as the other books by her. Thank you to Goodreads, Harlequin, and Olivia Miles for a free copy of this excellent novel.
After Margo actually sees her college professor husband cheating on her with one of his young students, she returns to Oyster Bay. The small town where she was raised and where her grandmother and sisters still live welcomes her back, along with her first true love, Eddie.
4.5 stars ! This was my first ever experience reading Ms. Miles & after a slow start I’m excited to see where the adventures of Oyster Bay take me. I adore the Harper sisters and I feel to relationships on the brink of being rekindled. I will definitely be continuing my new found relationship with Olivia Miles ❤️
I enjoyed this book because of the characters. Margo-unsure- misplaced-a little lost. Eddie-trying to overcome a past and learn who he really is. Margo’s sisters. Problems of their own yet dedicated to their town and each other. Love abounds and overflows in this story. Loyalty- choices. I recommend to the tender hearted romantic.
I don’t think I’ve found a better ending to a book then how Feels Like Home finished. Margo and Eddie’s romance through this book is light and awkward and exactly how a second chance should be written. I think anybody who picks this book up won’t be disappointed. I definitely wasn’t.
I received this book through a Goodreads giveaway. It was the first time I've read a book from this author and I was pleasantly surprised how great this book was. It involved broken marriages, second chances and renewed friendship. It was a wonderful read and I would highly recommend it.
Here is a story with complicated characters and complicated and believable relationships. I loved everything about the story. I became so engaged with the tale I sacrificed sleep to finish the book. I look forward to the second novel in the Oyster Bay series.
This is the first I've read of this author, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. A delightful story of starting over and second chances, family relationships, and small town living. I look forward to returning to Oyster Bay and reading more in this series.
For heavens sake, don't settle! Life is too short to settle for what you think you want. If it doesn't set off all your butterflies and make your toes curl. If he doesn't love you as passionately as you love him, walk away. It isn't real.
I really liked this book a lot. I'm not a huge romance fan, but this novel is well written and flows with ease. I liked the characters and connected with them. I also want to live in Oyster Bay now ;)
I so enjoyed this story. The bond between sisters is a special one, regardless of time and miles between them. Throw in an old love and you have a book that’s hard to put down.
This series is cute. The heroines are all fleshed our and believable. And however much I appreciate the PG rating, I wish there was more interaction and chemistry between the HH and H. He was almost a side note, slipped in at the end.
The story was good. easy to read good story line. Could have had a better ending. Seems that the author was in a hurry the story just got hushed as the end. Boom done
