Single mom Bridget Harper has no time for romance. Her hands are full enough running her new inn. Toss in a sister’s wedding to host, another sister’s career to help jumpstart, and a grandmother’s missing cat to find, and Bridget has little free time for anything other than taking a good book down to the beach. With troubled times officially behind her, she’s perfectly content with her busy life…until a handsome guest has her questioning what may be missing.
Novelist Jack Riley came to Oyster Bay with one purpose only: to write. With a deadline looming, he plans to lock himself inside his room at a remote country inn, and not emerge until his work is finished. The trouble is, he came to get away from distraction and, thanks to the irresistible innkeeper, finds it at every turn. Dragging out his stay in this small town is the last thing he had in mind, until he begins to wonder if he’s finally found his muse…

Along Came You by Olivia Miles is a pleasant retreat for those who enjoy charming seaside romances! I loved returning to Oyster Bay, a quaint beach town in Maine, and the Harper House Inn, a beautiful old Victorian home run by Bridget Harper (the eldest of the Harper sisters). Bridget is in a good steady place now that the Inn is up and running, though it keeps her busy with a lot of firsts and the pressure to succeed, especially with an eight year old underfoot. Aside from the Inn, her daughter Emma is her sun on a cloudy day and having both her sisters nearby is a blessing. She wants for nothing, certainly not a relationship - that’s her her romance books are for! Abby’s hobby of the month happens to be baking and cooking and even if Bridget doesn’t trust it will stick, it sure lends her some much needed free time; Margo announces her engagement to Eddie and her wish to have the wedding at the Inn, the home the that the three sisters grew up in. As the sisters prepare for the wedding, Bridget begins to explore her feelings for a guest at the Inn. Jack Riley has been bold with Bridget from the first chance meeting, yet he chalks it up to temporary insanity. He’s a busy writer with a deadline and no time for romance, not that he believes in such things. Eventually he stops fighting the urge to spend time with her and soon, Bridget, Emma, the Inn, and Oyster Bay claim his heart. But can he convince Bridget that his feelings for her are not fiction, before it’s too late? Bridget makes a stunning discovery about Jack’s real identity and questions the fantasy before her. Cozy up with this beautiful story and get lost in the happily ever after!
Book # 2 was just as tunas one. This time Briddget’slife is featured.Their family home has been transformed to an Inn by the Sea. Just the place I would love to send time at. A couple of love stories occuring simultaneously including Margo being engaged to her HS Sweetheart.Even Great Grandmother gets another chance. It is Bridget and Jack’s story that is featured in this story and very sweet. My favorite part; another happy ending. On to book 3; Maybe This Time.
Olivia write stories that show the everyday emotions of believable and very human characters. It’s a pleasant change from so many of the writers in this genre who try to outdo themselves with rags to riches fairy tales. Oyster Bay is a place where real people could live, love, and carry on with everyday challenges. And, of course, there is a happy ending! Love the carry-over of characters in this series.
Have you ever eaten a delicious meal and not quite full asked. "Seconds please?" Well, this second book in the Oyster Bay series leaves me wanting more. It is a story of second chances for Margo and Eddie, Bridget and Jack, Mimi, and Abby too. I highly recommend both books in this series of clean, heartwarming tales.
Bridget purchased the family home and turned it into a B&B. The story begins with Margo's wedding where Bridget meets Jack, a guest at the inn. This book is the story of their romance with more than a few ups and down. Abby is trying to establish herself as a cook for the inn despite her sisters who don’t believe she can stick with anything. Can she prove them wrong?
It has been said that you have to go through the storm to really appreciate the rainbows and the bright sun. We all have storms in our life but this story proves that if we just open our eyes and listen to our hearts at any age there will be a rainbow for us. All in Gods good time.
This is my third book by an author who is new to me and I look forward to reading the final one and more. Believable characters , subtle plots, and possible second chances are all reasons to enjoy her offerings.
This book was amazing once again. The story is learning about how to make sure that you have love, happiness, and family with you everyday. Olivia Miles have written from her heart about each character on what is happening to them as they grow with in each other.
What a beautiful series so far. Nothing complicated or hard to read just ease and a flutter in my heart. Can’t wait for the next book in the series and meet some new characters from Oyster Bay and find that HEA.
A solid sequel in the Oyster Bay series. I felt like this book gave the reader a better feel of the relationship between the three sisters. This would be a good light book to read on vacation at the beach.
I give it a 10, good reading, kept my interest. Love the characters and the how each sister grew on you and the grandmother was so sweet. Loved the storyline.
