Lo Blacklock #1-2
The Woman in Cabin 10 / The Woman in Suite 11
Dive into two gripping, atmospheric thrillers from bestselling author Ruth Ware as journalist Lo Blacklock becomes entangled in mysteries that are as chilling as they are unforgettable.
The Woman in Cabin 10
While on assignment aboard a luxury North Sea cruise, Lo witnesses what appears to be a woman thrown overboard. But with every passenger accounted for, no one believes her. Trapped at sea and questioning her own sanity, Lo races to uncover the truth before the killer silences her next.
The Woman in Suite 11
Years later, Lo attends the grand opening of an opulent Swiss hotel owned by a reclusive billionaire. A late-night summons leads her to a terrified woman claiming to be in deadly danger—and suddenly Lo is thrust into a perilous chase across Europe. As lies tighten around her, she must decide who to trust and how far she’ll go to save a life.

Sorry I don’t usually include blurbs or recaps of what this book is about in my reviews. I figure you can see that when you pull it up on Goodreads. I like to get to the point.
I didn’t hate this as much as many of the others on here seemed to. I actually appreciated a follow up to The Woman in Cabin 10.
I liked the 10 yr time jump. It made me happy knowing Lo & Judah made a go of it and had a family. I had hoped from the first book that she ended up with Judah long term. I also liked learning how Lo got on with her life and her mental health once the Aurora was behind her.
That said the story here was a bit all over the place. I will admit I can’t count the number of times I shook my head and said “really Lo? Are you an idiot?” And tbf she does acknowledge her stupidity several times and says that she is a soft touch and her heart won’t let her walk away from certain situations. Idiot. Soft touch. I guess it could be 6 of one half a dozen of the other depending on your mindset. Would I have put myself in that kind of danger for someone I didn’t know if I could entirely trust? I wouldn’t think so but I also say you never know until you are actually the one faced with that situation.
I will say it kept me interested. It never really lagged for me. It wasn’t quite as good as “Cabin 10” because I had already guessed most of the ending about 3/4 of the way thru and all my guesses were right.
I know a lot of people have said they think it’s a waste because a follow up wasn’t needed and I agree it wasn’t NEEDED but it also wasn’t bad. I think it was an enjoyable read if you go into not expecting too much. It’s a nice way to get closure on Lo Blacklock.

This was OK as an audiobook. I couldn’t have plowed through the ebook. Lo encounters Carrie and enters into a sketchy scheme with her because she feels indebted to her for something that happened 10 years ago. We are never told what or where this other thing happened. (I did read the woman in Cabin 10, but I don’t remember it.) There is a death, and Lo finds herself in heap of trouble. It is the second book in a series which is probably going to be more adventures of Lo.
