GREEK ISLAND DREAM… Every ending has a new beginning.
CATHY has realised she has to rebuild her life and the first step is a holiday with son Jamie and granddaughter Emily. They are off to the Greek island of Vekianos, the place that holds very special memories for her.
JAMIE is happy to go to Greece with his mum, but he is worried she will be reliving her memories instead of moving forward. As for himself, his life has stood still for the last two years and he can't see that ever changing.
EMILY is looking forward to two weeks of sunshine and laughter with her grandmother and uncle. This holiday is about having fun, but what happens when her fun turns into something else?
RHEA and her family run a little restaurant on the island and this season their lives are about to change in a way they could never have imagined.
GREEK ISLAND DREAM is an uplifting feel-good story of friendships and new beginnings. Along the way there are a few secrets, a little romance and lots of sunshine.
If you need a little arm chair travel head to the beautiful Greek Island of Vekianos. A perfectly gorgeous book! The vivid descriptions swept me away to this sun kissed island. I adored the relationship between Cathy, Jamie and Emily. Plenty of sunshine, gorgeous food, friendships and second chances in this uplifting feel-good story. This was my first book by the author and I’m looking forward to reading more of the authors books.
Another excellent book from Ian, love his books I get lost in them always. This book like all his other books is full of beautiful detail and characters. Can’t wait for the next one from him.
The setting of Vekianos, a beautiful Greek Island sounded idyllic and made me wish I was there. Cathy, her son Jamie and granddaughter Emily have a special relationship and when they are in Vekianos together they bond even closer. Filled with sunshine, romance and second chances, I could almost taste the cheese and spinach pies. An absolute treat of a book guaranteed to chase away the January blues.
This is the first book by Ian Wilfred that I've read, but it definitely won't be the last. The story whisked me away to a beautiful Greek island, so wonderfully described that I felt I was there. It was refreshing to read about characters from different generations (mother, son, and granddaughter), each with their own problems to solve and different perspectives on life. For anyone looking for an escapist, feelgood read, I highly recommend this.
3 different members of the same family go on holiday. Within days, all 3 fall in love. All 6 involved are also amateur psychologists, very wearing. Little detailed description of GREEK FOOD, Greek people, language or customs. Greek people talking like they,re English. Has the author actually ever been to Greece?
Skimmed through to the predictable end. Which is so predictable and obvious it’s laughable.
Loved this book taking you to a Greek island while being in a cold uk the description of the days and the characters make me feel I've just had a holiday in Greece . Congratulations Ian another winner for me
A visit to this beautiful Greek island is always a treat. These books are so delightful and full of Greek island life, sun and laughter. As well as romance.
.... I prefer books not written in the 3rd person if I'm honest. Also the conversational sections are a bit formal and awkward for my liking and a bit out of context. An ok read
A lovely storyline that draws you into the characters and way of life in the Greek islands. I’ve very much enjoyed the escapism…night time reading delving into a part of the world that I love and dream of.
I do enjoy Ian Wilfreds books about Greece but they are all very samey, the villa up the hill, the bakery selling pastries, the harbour etc. And the obvious from the start, everyone falls in love, usually ending in a wedding and a new baby announcement. Too much.
But I struggled with its narration. I thought it was a very twee story, all very nice and cosy. It was a real effort to finish it but persevered to the end.
