unexpected

Unexpectedly touching for a cozy mystery and so unexpected. Retired Attorney Megan and her golden retriever Chardonnay have a new beginning. They move to a new town, to a permanent lot on a campground with their airstream, set on “retirement” after 30 years in the legal world, and planning to relax make new friends.

A shocking death in the campground derails the plan, when it is a new friend that dies so tragically, and Megan realizes, when she puzzles over some of the oddities of the sorrowful death, all was not as it seemed. As Megan pieces more of the timeline together, she realizes her friend was murdered, and is determined to prove it.

The book is remarkably well written, with palpable tension increasing as the reader follows the action with Megan and the rest of the community, waiting breathlessly for the confrontation between her and the killer - and the celebration that follows when the killer is apprehended and justice is served, such a worthwhile read!

This is a "new to me" author and after reading this story, I am looking forward to more of her work. The characters are vivid, the Golden Retriever, Chardonnay is adorable, and the plot is straightforward. The premise is finding out if the RV park's residence death was actually the accident the Sheriff said it was, or murder the main character felt it was. I am guessing you already know who was right. I highly recommend this book.

A GOOD READ

This book was well written. A believable plot, great characters, a heroine who because of 30 years of court rooms and litigation developed a good sense of reading people well.
You’ll enjoy this one.

This was a pretty good book. The characters were what made it tolerable, they were interesting. The story itself was not bad, but transparent.
