I wanted to like this one more than I did. Really. It wasn't awful, but I want more meat from a time travel story - this was essentially cotton candy fluff for most of it.
Also, I couldn't relate to the characters - only slightly older than myself, but impossibly rich, impossibly smart, and talking like teenagers, even if they have experienced several lifetimes? No, I'm sorry - I really have trouble suspending my disbelief for that.
Also, the authorial tic of describing everything as "flat ____" - "flat amazing," "flat insane," you get the idea - NO. For me, at least. I was forced out of the narrative every time I encountered it.

An enjoyable addition to this romance-led time travel series. The author's love of the old west shines throughout the story, which I appreciate as I also find the period fascinating. Add to this one of the most unusual time travel setups I've come across and it gives a depth of background to what is a boy meets girl story. Not the sort of stuff I usually read, but I sort of fell into this from the author's more Sci-fi oriented work.
This is the fourth novel in the series, and have to admit to skipping a little when the setup as outlined in previous books is gone over again. This however takes the tales in a slightly different direction with a touch more jepody than previous.
Still enjoy the series and will carry on reading it.

The story was entertaining (I'm a sucker for time travel and alternate timeline stories), but the large number of errors from lack of editing drove me to distraction. It's like it was written as a stream of consciousness, with no effort to go back and fix the obvious problems. It seems like if you want people to pay for your work that you'd at least respect them enough to do a read-through and clean things up.

Do judge this book by its cover - if you love horsing around in Idaho then this is for you! Really I should only give this the absolute minimum score possible for being a plodding pack horse instead of something more exciting, but I liked the use of time travel.
The titular mansion has fallen into rack and ruin in the early 21st Century and Sherri wants to renovate it to its former glory. When she mentions to her historian friends about the ghost driving away all her building contractors the friends suggest a trip in their time machine to find out why the original owner killed himself a hundred years previously. Then it goes a bit timey-wimey as the story alternates between his point of view and her point of view.

Very interesting and original time travel story.
I got this as part of a bundle of books and stories from Story Bundle. Which itself is an amazing way to buy books.
My first DWS book. I'm looking forward to reading a lot more of his stuff. I'm a huge fan of Kristine Kathyrn Rusch. So, I also plan to read a bunch of the stuff they've written together.

This is the second Thunder Mountain novel I have read I liked it better than the other one. It was a fast read like all his work. More Time Travel Western Romance. Its it thing. There was a good change in the last third that I liked. A good entertaining little book.

January 14, 2017I got this book as a part of the Time Travel bundle I bought, but it's actually a romance in disguise. The time travel is lightweight and the characters not very interesting. I'm giving up, it doesn't seem worth my time.

A fast, fun read with lots of time travel twists and turns. I love a time travel story, and this whole Thunder Mountain series is all about that. Plus western, plus history, plus romance--fun!
