Librarian's Note: This is an alternate cover edition for ASIN B00T0MFWQ6
The last ever-loving thing I ever thought I'd become is a hypocrite.
A big, fat one.
Joe doesn't even want me to meet his parents. Trevor's fine with it, but only if they keep thinking I'm his girlfriend. And only his girlfriend. He doesn't want that pesky little thing called truth to get in the way.
Both of them are my boyfriends. Both.
So then my mama goes and gets engaged - the woman rediscovered her hoohaw! - and I have to head back home to meet my new stepdaddy and attend her wedding.
And she wants me to bring my boyfriend with me.
Um...which one?
This is where the hypocrisy thing comes in, because I've never told her what's really going on with me and my boyfriends.
Funny how making that word plural ends with a hiss.
The easiest thing to do is to tell the truth, right? That's what I've been telling Trevor and Joe for our entire relationship, and now that the tables are turned on me, what do I do?
Break up with them and run back home.
I never dreamed they'd follow me from Boston back to my trailer park in Ohio.
And claim me for their own.

Random Acts of Love is the fifth book in the series that started with Random Acts of Crazy, the New York Times bestselling book that introduced readers to Darla, Trevor and Joe. When Darla has to face her own demons (and hypocrisy) by going back home, she learns that love means admitting who you really are to everyone -- including yourself.
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julia Kent writes romantic comedy with an edge. Since 2013, she has sold more than 2 million books, with 5 New York Times bestsellers and more than 21 appearances on the USA Today bestseller list. Her books have been translated into French, German, and Italian, with more titles releasing in the future.
From billionaires to BBWs to new adult rock stars, Julia finds a sensual, goofy joy in every contemporary romance she writes. Unlike Shannon from Shopping for a Billionaire, she did not meet her husband after dropping her phone in a men's room toilet (and he isn't a billionaire in a rom com).
She also writes romantic suspense as Meli Raine, sexy shifter romances as DJ Jennings, billionaire shifters as half of the author team Diana Seere, and co-authors with Elisa Reed.
She lives in New England with her husband and three children in a household where she is the only person with the gene required to change empty toilet paper rolls.
Julia is one of my favorite authors. So needless to say I start this series with her and Darla, Trevor, and Joe. I loved it from the beginning. This book is continuation of their story of 3. Darla is great because she isnt your usual boring and quiet bbw girl. she is smart, funny and tells it like it is. I have to say I loved trevor from the chicken scene in the first book and joe has grown on me. I was happy to hear of this next book and loved it. Julia's writing is funny when it can be and serious when it has to be. I was dying to find out how they tell all their families about their relationship and was glad it finally came out and eventually with its HEA. Here is hoping there is more to come from this whole crew. Great job as always Julia.....
Perhaps it is the incipient migraine, but the constant pop culture references in the first half chapter (and self-absorption of the female lead) is just grating on me. Perhaps I'll try reading it again in a few days and hopefully it will garner a better review.
I loved it. I have never laughed out loud so hard as I did while reading the chapter about "Joe's pie". Julia writes so true to life, emotional ups and downs. Another great episode in the Random Acts saga. Keep them coming!!
This. Was. Hilarious. One of the things I love about Julia Kent's writing is it can be serious and poignant without being over the top drama and then turn around and be so so funny. 4.5 stars.
My sides hurt from laughing so hard. I love that the author took several of the funniest memes on the internet and turned them into things that “actually” happened to these characters. It’s not all just fun and games though. There’s some very deep soul-searching that Darla, Trevor, and Joe have to go through and they make for some pretty emotional moments. I may have been laughing to the point where I was having trouble breathing, but my heart was breaking for this trio when it looked like they might not be able to get out of their own way to make it right. I read this book as part of the box set.
I almost feel like this book should have been Random Acts of Crazy instead of the first one. There were more drugs in this book than any of the prior ones and a lot of antics that happened while on these. This is especially true as some of the characters didn’t know what they were ingesting. While there was a lot of laughter at their antics, its hard not to think that the characters did not consent to this (items were in the pie they ate, they didn’t know).
I enjoyed the rest of the book but the above took it down a bit for more (not just the permission aspect).
3 ½ - 4 Stars! Book 6 in the Random Series. Full length told in multiple POV with HFN ending. Random Acts of Crazy is a band, the secondary characters are band members and are throughout the series. The age of the band members is around 24 and I felt too old reading, I didn’t get all the references. I didn’t find the book funny, or steamy. I hated the part where a desert is consumed without knowledge or consent that it was laced with drugs. I have read the previous books in the series and I continue reading to see if there a HEA, but it just goes on without anything happening.
Julia delivers another hilarious installment in Darla and the band's life. So many hilarious situations and presentations abound, I have to wonder if this might be a biography of someone's [or multiple someones'] lives. Regardless, her continued storytelling ability, and the evident attention taken to deliver a finished product to her audience, has lifted her into the realm belonging to my favorite authors.
Sometimes you want to grow up and other times you needs to grow up.
Not only do Trevor, Joe and Darla need to come out to their parents but they also need to find out that they may not be the only threesome in the family.
In this addition the group of Darla Joe and Trevor is over.... until it is not.
I read this book when it first released, so hearing the audiobook performed by the talents of Andi Arndt, Tad Branson and Sebastian York bringing Darla, Joe and Trevor to life was thrilling. This book was critical to the status of the trio's relationship. They had to regard their feelings and importance of their future. This is my favourite 'Random book.
The next in the series is just as funny, sad, heartfelt, confusing and random as previous books and I loved it!!
Glad to see Darla's mama getting a happy story, and ooooohhhh Joe's mum could do with a slap but she is bloody hilarious (chickens with diapers!!) And Trevor and Mavis?....The going-ons are just ongoing !!
Thoroughly enjoyed this book because it was honest. It's not everyone's choice but than who is to judge. Sometimes what goes on in the name of love is private. We all fantasize about the perfect person but what if it's two or three? Lots to think over in this book.
This book, without a doubt, was pleasantly unexpected! It had a high rating on Goodreads and now I know why. The tangents, the main female character went on, were no doubt laugh out loud funny. This book is a must read!!!
There was only portion I wasn't that fond of, when Darlene was with Charlotte and the girls and that long dragged out portion. Otherwise loved the book, especially when they told the parents that was hilarious
oh man…these just get better and better! I am so hookedothsese
I swear you’ll laugh, cry, and roll your eyes back in your head—and then do it all over again! Grab all 11 books and be prepared for a solid good time!!
Oh my gosh…some of these characters are so over the top they have to be based on real life characters. The truth always comes out but not like it does here. This book is definitely worth reading!!
