Shock value ridiculousness. There was way too much going on here for a book this short. I feel like I had some weird fever dream.

We have like 30 different characters 10 of which end up being harem members 😵‍💫😵‍💫
Graphic SA
hockey
mafia
a surprise brother and dad,
a secondary POV and menage sex scene from the hs mom (wtf, a big, no thank you to this)

I did like the stuff when she first moves in with the guys for her job though and the way they were taking care of her. This was before all the crazy town stuff.

Woah! The opening of this book is pretty damn brutal and I really felt so bad for our FMC. I wanted to love this story but it was just a bit much and a little too rushed. I think this particular storyline would have benefited from being just a bit longer.

If you like hockey romance and Why choose this might be a good choice for you, just make sure to check out all triggers first.

Wow, this book started off with a brutal introduction that was shocking and unexpected.

We meet Ari, the FMC, who is recovering from a brutal assault that left her for dead. Even though it almost killed her, she remains a strong woman who is determined to serve justice to those who hurt her. Yes, she is still fragile, still having complications from the assault, anxious, and dealing with lots of post-trauma, but she’s determined to keep living.

She starts a new job where she is introduced to some amazing, caring, thoughtful guys from the hockey team she is now working for. She also becomes their new roommate.

This book was filled with mystery, plot twists, and some very spicy scenes (there are 10 men involved!!, but most importantly it’s consensual).

Was this at times brutal? Yes!
Was it at times tough to read? Yes!
Was it worth it? HELL YES!

The relationships and bonds that she forms with these men were beautiful. Having them there to support her through her recovery and having people there to back her up was amazing.

It’s an explosive ending but also a HEA.

Please check the trigger warnings before reading this!

Holy fricken WOW.... 1st of all 10 fricken men I give that woman props because good lort.... OK now Seriously y'all this story was ALOT of twisted, unhinged, gut-wrenching, just plain out brutality and savagery and Seriously how Ari survived that just plain wow I know on alot of my review for Emily's stories I've talked about how things snuck back up from my past and being an SA survivor but with this story specifically it wasn't the attack that brought back the memories it was how absolutely AMAZING and understanding her partners were with her after the attack... I wish I had that patient, kind, understanding, and supportive partner to help reassure me because that is a Big HUGE part of your healing after going through traumatic things like this and Emily wrote it so beautifully in this story....

Y'all I absolutely recommend this story BUT I ABSOLUTELY caution you because this story is DARK, HEAVY ON TRIGGERS, UNHINGED and YOUR MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS

Arianna gets screwed. She was drugged, beaten, and worse and got fired from her job because of it. The coach thinks she took the drugs himself or at least is choosing to believe that. But luckily after some physical therapy she’s ready to start working for a new team- her step dads team. She will be living with the 6 front line guys in a house. Hunter, Kip, Conner, & Mateo are welcoming to her. Jorani and Elijah are wanting to make her life hell so she leaves. But they had issues with the last girl in the position and think Ari just got the job because of her step dad. But then they find out what she went through and completely change for the better. This was such a good book! I couldn’t put it down! It’s a dark hockey romance for sure and definitely a RH but absolutely check your triggers!!

This one actually made me ugly sob. Not because of the dark themes because her other stuff is much darker. But it was the support she had. People believed her and fought for her. The way her mom and dad helped her. Her friends and team. It made all the difference in her recovery and her mental health. Its honestly so horrifying how little support assault survivors get. The amount of support Ari had was so sweet. The way it ended was unexpected but im so happy for Ari to have her ridiculously happy ending.

This was a heartwarming story about healing after trauma. This was short, sweet and (also) graphic where it needed to be. It shows that not all healing is a straight line and that you should accept help when you need it. I connected with the characters even though there were a lot for such a short book, each one played their own role.

Wow that was insane! I honestly think that's one of the darkest things Emily had written. And I loved every second of it! Poor Ari has absolutely gone through hell. And I mean it. But having all these people she had by her side to help her made it so much easier. And the twist at the end? Um hello? I was definitely not expecting that.

Emily Klepp does it again. This is my second book by Emily and if I wasn’t sold before, I am now. They way her writing captivates the ready and really makes you feel that connection to the characters is unmatched. This was a short quick read that I devoured and couldn’t put down. As always, Emily make sure her characters get justice and karma comes to those who need it. This is not some fun-loving romance. It’s dark and raw and captures the despair that comes with all of the damage that comes to the fmc.

This story follows Arianna “Ari” and her strength to over come something no woman should have to endure. After surviving the worst day of her life, she finds herself fired from her PA job with the local hockey team. Not wanting to give up, she goes to work with her stepfather and his team. Even though it’s a new building, it still brings back all of the memories that came from that dreadful day. Not wanting to seem weak, she doesn’t show how much she’s effected by just being at an ice rink. Can Ari find some way to cope with what happened to her? Can this new team be just what she needed to help? If the new team finds out what happened to Ari will the pull away and want nothing to do with her or will they go to battle beside her? Read Crimson Ice to find out! Releasing March 13th. Your mental health matters! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read all of the trigger warnings before jumping in!

I’m sorry, but this was unbearably cringe and all over the place. The writing was awful — like it was written by a 12-year-old on Wattpad. The author literally used “idk” in a sentence. The plot and characters were super inconsistent (at one point it honestly felt like the author didn’t even know the name she’d decided on for one of her MCs), and the FMC was supposed to be this badass trauma survivor who didn’t need anyone but… also not?

It also felt like the explicit content was there just for the sake of being explicit, not because it actually added anything to the story. Everyone heals differently and deals with trauma in their own way, but in this story it felt like everything was just thrown together for the hell of it rather than handled with any real care or intention.

This needed a lot more editing, and that whole final plot about the bio dad and the mafia came completely out of nowhere. I’ve read another book by this author that I actually enjoyed, which makes this one even more disappointing. This was just messy and just… yeah, no.

Of course, these are just MY opinions. Not every book is for everyone and this one was unfortunately not for me but I stand by my thoughts as my own. Thank you to the author for the gifted ARC.

Dark and smutty

First off check the triggers as this book starts out immediately with a brutal grape scene.

This starts with Arianna being brutalized by two men after being drugged. She nearly dies from her injuries. Now she is working to get her life back to as normal as possible.

The list of injuries she sustained was extensive but once she woke up she was determined to have get life back. First she must pick up her belongings from the ice rink where she almost died.

She has four very protective men on the former team and they keep in touch and are there for her however they can be. Now she is working for the rival team. The first meeting with the new team does not go well.

If you want something with a lot of relationship building you should skip this one. She ends up telling the new team what happened and how she struggles now so they can better support her. That support very quickly becomes x rated. She ends up with six of the players.

There were definitely some unexpected moments in this one that I didn't see coming. The ending was quite satisfying.

Arianna definitely gets a train run on her on a regular basis. He guys are protective of her but its mostly physical level stuff.

Emily Klepp – Crimson Ice: A Dark Hockey Romance

This story completely pulled me in from the start. As someone who enjoys dark romance, I really appreciated that the author included clear trigger warnings—this is definitely a read-at-your-own-risk kind of book, and it delivers on that intensity.

The storyline was deeply engaging and emotionally heavy in the best way. The female main character goes through so much, and you can truly feel every moment of her pain, strength, and growth. Her journey felt raw and real, and I found myself fully invested in her story.

The characters overall were very well written. I connected with them easily, and I loved how the author developed their relationships and showed how they came together. Everything flowed smoothly, making it easy to stay immersed in the story.

This book is packed with emotion, high stakes, and powerful moments that really hit hard. You can feel what the characters are going through every step of the way.

Overall, Crimson Ice didn’t just meet my expectations, it exceeded them. Such a powerful and unforgettable read.

Before beginning Crimson Ice it is absolutely necessary to check the trigger warnings! Crimson Ice is a dark, emotional, suspenseful, story of survival, overcoming, and finding love! Lot's of love! This is a why choose. Ari was a PA for the Toledo Titans hockey team. One night at the rink she was horrifically brutalized and left for dead. After a long recovery and being terminated for being a victim, she decides to become a PA for the rival Detroit Reapers who her stepdad, Ray, is the assistant coach. As a PA, Ari is expected to live with the first line. Ari is open and honest about what happened to her and the effects it has on her physically and mentally. A few of the guys are hesitant to accept her but all six of them become her biggest supporters and protectors. Ari is the ultimate baddie! She went through complete and utter hell and survived. She is blunt, tough, stubborn, and resilient. Jovi, Eli, Mateo, Kip, Hunter, and Conner are all sweet, protective, and brutal (IYKYK). They push, encourage, and help her even when she denies she needs it. Plus she stays close with Tate, Beckett, Logan, and Jaxon from the Titans. This novella packs so many twists and that ending was crazy! And if you like it spicy, with this many MMC's you are definitely in the right place! Crimson Ice was a wild ride and I absolutely recommend it!

ARC Review 📚

Oh.. My.. God.. Emily klepp did it again!
This was just, wow.. Even though it's a short one under 200 pages, it's AMAZING!! It contains so much and I absolutely loved it😍🔥

I'm starting to fall more and more into dark hockey romances and this one made it even worse - if you can even say that it's something bad! 🥵
The guys were all so sweet while taking care of her - in more ways than one😉 - and she finally found her place amongst them.

I liked how the whole story unravelled and the way it ended. It was a bit brutal at the beginning but Ari (The FMC) really pulled trough and even though she was fragile, I really liked her too 💔

I'm so happy to have gotten the opportunity to ARC for this one, I've read three of Emily's books already (One Dani Rose) and that most certanly won't be the end of it😈

Don't forget to read the TW's because this one contains alot of triggers that can be sensitive 🖤

This book contains a lot of triggers, so please make sure to check them beforehand. It is without a doubt the heaviest book in terms of triggers that I’ve read from Emily, and the prologue especially reflects that. The trigger warnings mention SA, the loss of a body part, and a hockey stick — you can probably imagine the rest.

If you decide to continue reading after that initial horror, this is ultimately a survival story — about coming back from almost dying and learning to live again. And yes, it is a reverse harem and includes other plotlines as well, but the core theme running through the entire story is healing from trauma.

It’s a quick read, so even though the subject matter is difficult, it doesn’t hold the reader in that darkness for hundreds of pages. But precisely because of that, it’s also emotionally intense. The book does have a happy ending, but please don’t go into it expecting that to carry you through if you have even the slightest doubt.

A very, very brutal beginning, but a happy ending.

Crimson Ice by Emily Klepp is an emotional and deeply impactful dark romance that balances heavy subject matter with resilience, healing, and the power of unwavering support. This story is not an easy read, but it is an incredibly compelling one that highlights survival and strength in the face of unimaginable trauma.

Arianna’s journey pulled me in from the very beginning. Her pain, her triggers, and her determination to reclaim pieces of her life felt raw and authentic. Despite everything she has endured, she refuses to be defined by what happened to her, and that quiet strength shines throughout the story. Watching her slowly rebuild trust and confidence was one of the most rewarding aspects of the book.

The protective dynamic surrounding Arianna is one of the strongest elements of this story. The men in her orbit each bring their own energy to the table, and their growing concern and care for her create an emotionally layered experience. Their support never erases her trauma, but instead walks beside her healing, which made the progression feel meaningful and earned.

Emily Klepp does not shy away from the darker edges of this genre, but what continues to stand out in her writing is the thread of hope woven through the pain. The emotional moments hit hard, the tension stays high, and the payoff delivers the kind of satisfying closure that makes the journey worthwhile.

This book will not be for everyone due to the heavy themes, but for readers who appreciate dark romance that centers survival, found family, and emotional healing, Crimson Ice is a powerful and memorable read. I continue to be drawn to Emily Klepp’s ability to pair intensity with heart, and I am already looking forward to whatever she writes next.

🖤 Ahhh Emily!! You know how to give us all the right amount of spice, plot twists, and banter. I’m just gonna say Arianna is a strong bad ass bitch! She’s come so far and overcame so much, with the help of her family and her men. Omg Emily those plot twists had my jaw on the floor!! I can’t say much without spoiling it, but some of those I never saw coming! I’m so glad that everyone who wronged Arianna got what they deserved because goddamn they put her through hell. Ok, now time for Arianna and her men! Again she’s a bad ass bitch, because I would not be able to handle all those men on their own, let alone all at the same time. Anyways, that ending was adorable!I’m so happy everyone got the HEA they deserved.

Arianna survives something horrific in the opening pages, and the rest of the story follows her fight to heal, rebuild, and face the place that broke her. She’s stubborn, strong, and so easy to root for.🥰🥰🥰🥰

The new hockey team she joins becomes her support system. They are protective, caring, and exactly what she needs.

The twists are crazy, the emotions hit hard, and the ending shocked me!!

Even with the heavy themes, there’s humor, heat, and a found family vibe that makes the story impossible to put down!!

Emily delivers another intense, addictive read!! I would love her parents story one day 🥰🥰🥰

I am totally in my Hockey Romance Era and this book hit all the spots for me. I love a good Emily Klepp book because she has a way of writing about trauma but also about healing from that trauma in whatever ways works for that person. This book was about Ari and her need to heal from the trauma inflicted on her. When we meet her first she is being viciously attacked. She was hurt so badly that even months later she was still not all the way healed. Her step dad helped her get a new job with his team and she meets the new hockey players for the team. She has a rough start with several of them They did not want to give her a chance at first but overtime they all form attachments and bond that cannot be broken. They help her heals in ways she is only just now starting to understand. I absolutely love that it was a why choose. Hey if you can get ten men to be in love and totally devoted to you. I pull my hat off to you.

5 stars. No notes.

Crimson Ice completely consumed me. I read it in under two hours and could not put it down for a second.

This is a dark romance that does not hold back. At its core, it follows a girl navigating the aftermath of assault and finding her own path to healing. The story is heavy, raw, and intense, but also deeply gripping.

What stood out the most for me was the reverse harem dynamic. The way they show up for her, especially after learning what she has been through, felt protective, validating, and honestly addictive to read. It never felt forced. It felt like she was finally being seen.

There was nothing I would change. It pulled me in immediately and never let go.

I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who loves dark romance and is comfortable with heavy subject matter. Please check trigger warnings beforehand, which can be found through Emily Klepp’s website.

This one will stay with me for a while.

I'm such a sucker for hockey romance books and this was no exception. Crimson Ice is dark and those warnings are there for a reason so please read them if you are triggered.

This book opens to a horrific scene and it was a bit of a gut punch knowing what happened to Arianna. She is so stubborn and strong that even I admit I sat up and took notice. Even through her fear she knew she needed to survive and that's exactly what she is, a survivor.

The fact that she ends up with 10 men had me raising my eyebrows, then shrugging because damn... but, you go girl! 😂 I'll be here cheering you on while that happens.

Seriously though, the plot twists had me on edge but Emily knows how to gut punch you at a pivotal moment and to say I was shocked is an understatement.

The humor had me cackling though because trust Emily to add some dark humor into her writing.

I have read quite a few of Emily's books and enjoyed so many of them, this just didn't hit the mark for me.

Please check the trigger warnings as this may be one of her darker books.

Arianna went through absolute hell, she is a strong FMC.
I know it's a short book but where we got in it just seemed so rushed that the things were hard to go along with. I think even a few more chapters with just some more details would help.

Also I love a why choose but ummm this had too many that I legit said "she won't walk straight ever again" and it just makes it harder to believe, especially with how quick Jovi and Elijah said they were obsessed with her, but idk five min before they were dicks.

The twist, I didn't see coming so I liked it, I just wanted more background and details to get me there.

Dark , steamy , heart wrenching and Uttely addictive. OMG !!! I’m not even sure I have the right words that could start to describe the emotional rollercoaster Emily just took me on . This is Arianna’s story and all I can truly say is my heart broke , just Broke for everything she endured . Trauma from being a SA survivor. How that experience affected her entire life both emotionally and physically. How all her guys offer something different ( each has such a unique connection and relationship with her . All the twists and turns, the obstacles, the love , the passion, the healing, the moments that will stir so many different emotions you’ll never ever be expecting. I was not prepared for how Ari’s journey was going to end up owning my heart 💜 crimson Ice is a must read for absolutely everyone.

There is something about Emily Klepps books that just capture your attention. From the first page and the heartbreaking story for her FMCs, it just pulls you in and makes you feel. Ariannas goes through an absolutely devastating tragedy that leaves her battered and broken. When she walks in to face her demons at the place of her attack, I wanted to scream, "You go girl".

She heals from her attack with the help of the amazing people in her life, who are there every step of the way to lift her up and push her past her comfort zone. Also, the ending and the truth behind everything shocked me.

Did she have 10 hockey players to help her heal in a way that she wanted. Why yessss the girl did. 👏👏

Emily, thank you for another amazing read.

I don't pick up sports romance books ever but maybe I should because this one was so good.

Read triggers DARK!!

this book is about a female who gets brutally attacked and left for de*d and she is trying to over come her trauma of what she had been put through. This book shows how resilient the fmc is and how she never stops and nothing despite overwhelming everything becomes for her. The fmc really makes this book everything and really keeps you hooked plus all her men aswell how loving they are to her even if a few of them were a bit of an arse to start with. I love how the mum and dad and step dad was cooperated in it as well and how the people who did what they did got back what they deserved

Please reader read the trigger warnings before you start this Novella else you will be triggered for sure. Emily values our in put but most of all our mental health..
When I first opened crimson ice I was like wdf and I reading now it was so brutal from the first few pages I could feel everything Arianna went through. My dam butt and pu##y was aching for her. I was shoot this is wild even for Emily. Then as I carried on reading I could see where Emily was going. Arianna over came so much and got so much with 10 drop dead hunks. And as the saying goes karma is a total bitch when it strikes. I never saw the 2twists that come. If this is the Novella then I'm definitely dying to see Emily has in store for us this series.

Lets start with the title... this was by far one of my favorite titles. It instantly drew me and caught my attention lingering in the back of my mind. So props to you for that. But now the story. Ten men for one woman... excessive? not in the book world. I love how she always twists it together making it so that each one has their own indiviudalize importance to the FMC and there is always one or two that she's attached to the most but still never loving the others any less. The story is dark, descriptive, unhinged, and twists for days. It was a great read for a dark romance reader who loves a FMC that will overcome her obsitacles but not easily. She fights for her life for what she wants and needs and it shows in every page.

This story starts out with the vicious brutal attack that our FMC Arianna experienced and is healing from.
Then we have her 10 Men. Yes really!😋 And yes please. LoL 🥰
They all are so caring and supportive in helping her healing process.
This story has a lot of twists that kept me turning the pages. It's crazy, suspenseful, and very steamy. And you are going to be jumping for Joy with the ending. It is such a fitting and perfect ending in multiple ways. Yay 🎉The monster was slain and now she no longer has to fear the memories of the crimson ice.
This is a must read you all.
Please check TW before reading.
Otherwise enjoy this Wonderful Dark Why-Choose Hockey Romance by Emily Klepp.
She is a fantastic author. I highly recommend this book.
