It was kinda glossed over but how long were the h and the son dating?? Long enough to live together but not introduced her to ANY of his friends or family?!? Like WTF?
At one point in the story the H tells his son that women shouldn’t have to change for a man. But then he spends the entire book making the h change for him. She doesn’t want to ski, he makes her ski. She doesn’t curse, he gets her to curse. She doesn’t like heights, she repeatedly ended up in ski lifts. But it’s all ok because she just needed the right man to come along and loosen her up and bring her out of her Type-A shell.

Charlotte and Gavin's romance was really something. Emotions, drama, twists and spice form a fun and solid base for this couple's relationship to build off of. This book definitely had me feeling like I was on the edge just waiting to see what would happen next because predictable it was not.
I picked up *Accidental Ex’s Dad* by Mia Mara for the drama (because come on, that title 👀), and it completely delivered in the best way. It’s messy, emotional, a little bit forbidden, and surprisingly heartfelt. The story pulls you in fast and keeps things moving with just the right mix of tension, romance, and those “oh no they didn’t” moments that make this trope so addictive.
Gavin is such a standout. He could’ve easily been written as just the brooding, off-limits older man, but there’s so much more going on with him. He’s grounded, protective, and clearly wrestling with his feelings in a way that feels real instead of over-the-top. You can tell he’s trying to do the right thing, even when everything about the situation makes that complicated. That internal conflict? So good.
Charlotte is just as compelling. She’s not naive or reckless she knows exactly how messy the situation is, and that awareness makes her choices feel more meaningful. There’s a confidence to her, but also vulnerability, especially when it comes to navigating her past relationship and what this new connection with Gavin means. I really appreciated that she wasn’t reduced to just being “caught in the middle” she drives a lot of the emotional core of the story.
And together? The chemistry is intense. Every interaction between Gavin and Charlotte feels charged, like they’re constantly balancing on that line between what they want and what they *shouldn’t* want. The push and pull, the hesitation, the moments where they almost give in it all builds in such a satisfying way.
Overall, this was such a fun, dramatic, and swoony read. If you’re into forbidden romance with emotional depth and characters who actually make you feel something, this one is absolutely worth the ride.
This novel is one of the best stories in the “Unintentionally Yours” series. This one stands out more so because a one-night-stand with a drop-dead gorgeous single silver fox named Gavin is picked up by Charlotte at a bar who had been dumped by her ex fiancé Ben. It becomes even crazier when Gavin’s son, Ben is getting married & his fiancée needs a wedding planner who hires Charlotte. It’s awkward & gets more complicated when these 2 Ex’s pretend they don’t know each other. Once Charlotte’s introduced to Gavin, who’s footing the bill for their wedding, this story-line gets even funnier! A funny twist because Charlotte is the only one who has dated both dad (Gavin) & his son (Ben). Their lives get even messier with the secrets kept from each other until the day arrives when the truth comes out & each relationship is fractured. At least one secret revealed will mend their lives & heal the family unit.
Mia Mara has the knack in her creativity by keeping the reader captivated from the beginning of the story right to the very last page. This novel is so entertaining, plenty of laughs & one has to just read the next chapter to find out what happens next. Before you know it, you’re finished the book & wishing there was more written about Gavin & Charlotte. Their chemistry is hot & their banter back & forth is so funny. Just watching how their relationship blooms into something meaningful, is precious & worth protecting. This is an absolutely must-read novel.

"Accidental Ex's Dad " by Mia Mara leans hard into dramatic, high-stakes romance tropes—and delivers exactly what fans of the genre are looking for.
This is a fast-paced, emotionally charged story built on scandal, forbidden attraction, and messy entanglements. The premise alone—falling for your ex’s father and then being forced back into his orbit—is pure escapist drama, and the book embraces that chaos rather than trying to tame it. The chemistry between the leads is intense from the start, with a strong emphasis on tension, secrecy, and power dynamics that drive the narrative forward.
Mara’s writing keeps things engaging and easy to binge, even when the plot veers into over-the-top territory. The characters aren’t always subtle, but that’s part of the appeal: everything is heightened, from the emotional stakes to the romantic conflict. The “secret baby” twist adds another layer of urgency and complication, ensuring the story never really slows down.
If you enjoy age-gap romances, morally complicated relationships, and a healthy dose of melodrama, this book hits the mark. A guilty-pleasure romance full of tension and twists. I read it in one go.

Ben has abruptly ended his relationship with Chatlotte - and a week later is already Ben is already with his fiancé, a woman who craves adventure the same way he does. Though deep down Charlotte knew she and Ben were not quite compatible - her with an introverted, bookish nature, and Ben craving adventure and unpredictability - she still grieves the breakup. Charlotte dresses up and goes out with her BFF Josie to get drunk. Josie encourages her to find a man for a one night stand - something Charlotte would never have considered doing before. They scour the bar room, rejecting a few and then, Gavin, sitting at the end of the bar, really catches her eye... Charlotte does the unexpected and approaches Gavin, who is interested... The novel evolves from there. This is a great, fun story, told with humor. I thoroughly enjoyed it. There is realistic reactions and character development with enough spice and steamy scenes. This is my second Mia Mara book. She has a way of writing each character so that you know them and understand exactly where they're coming from. A definite recommendation!.

Was it perfect? No. But I did enjoy this way more than I expected to. The writing was pretty good, even though there were definitely some issues that weren't really addressed to my liking.
First, if you are living with someone and yet have never met any friends or family, that should be a big red flag. I get that the author wants us to go along with the fact that they weren't right for each other, but that's just a bit too far for me. She should have met someone purely by accident, if nothing else.
Second, Gavin kept pushing her over and over to do new things or things she doesn't like, but at the same time he doesn't think women should change for men. That combined with him refusing to fall in love again, and we have an imbalance.
I hated how he just ghosted her for a few weeks, but then when she gives up, he's all in and she takes him back with just an apology. The author wrote that she deserved to be chased, but then let her do all the chasing. Gavin should have groveled more.
I would recommend this one, and i will read more in the series.

Accidental Ex’s Dad is a delightful Contemporary romance whose MFC Charlotte is currently sitting at a bar with her best friend Josie drowning her sorrows over a recent breakup. Josie talks her into getting a little wild by finding a one night stand which she does meeting MMC Gavin. But holy hanna, what a fallout results from her wild night, which was wonderful until she discovers Gaven is her Ex’s dad, and the fates really have it in for her when she is hired to plan a wedding…yes its the Ex’s. Just wait it gets better! I had so much fun with this story, more fun than Charlotte but what a journey she took me on which was nicely written with engaging characters, drama, family dynamics, surprises, emotion and passion. HEA.

She is out nursing feelings after a breakup when she meets Gavin. A one night stand or so she thinks. Charlotte and Gavin may not have known they were starting with a forbidden love affair, but they soon learn their relationship is anything but simple from their first meet which creates 2 pink lines on stick to their happy ever after. She is commissioned to plan her ex’s wedding with unlimited budget-since Gavin is funding it. This keeps them in close proximity during the planning process. They carry on with bantering more like it is a prized fighting sport which only adds to them as an interesting and dynamic couple. It is a wonderful read from start to finish. “Accidental Ex's Dad” is part of Mia Mara’s Unintentionally Yours series and is highly recommended. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it!.

This book was messy, dramatic, and honestly kind of addictive. The forbidden aspect of the relationship definitely brought the tension, and I flew through it because I needed to know what chaos was going to happen next. The chemistry between the characters was strong, and there were a few scenes that had me fully invested.
That said, I struggled with some of the emotional development. I wanted a little more depth to the relationship outside of the attraction, and a few of the conflicts felt over-the-top just for the sake of drama. The pacing also felt uneven at times — some moments dragged while others moved way too fast.
Overall, if you love taboo romance, family drama, possessive men, and a lot of tension, this will probably still be a fun read. It didn’t completely win me over, but it definitely kept me entertained.
This is an enjoyable romcom. Gavin is an indisputably hot silver fox, who also happens to be her one night stand and her ex’s father. Charlotte is a wedding planner and somehow ends up being picked by her ex’s unsuspecting fiancé to plan their destination wedding. What could possibly go wrong, especially as the happy couple insist she and Gavin work together on the planning.
It’s not all plain sailing and when all the secrets come to light, did I mention the surprise pregnancy, everything falls apart. Of course being a romcom we do get a HEA.
If you want an enjoyable, relatively light hearted romance, with a few twists and turns then you won’t be disappointed.

“Accidental Ex's Dad” starts off with friendship and conflicts and keeps getting better & better with each page turn. I loved this forbidden, billionaire romance with its heart-felt emotions and engaging story. Charlotte and Gavin may not have known they were starting with a forbidden love affair, but they soon learn their relationship is anything but simple from their first meet to their happy ever after. They carry on with bantering more like it is a prized sport which only adds to them as an interesting and dynamic couple. This was a story about a woman who drowns her sorrows about a breakup then has a one night stand gets pregnant. Okay I get all that it sounds great and dramatic and I want to see the whole picture. I get it and the middle is fantastic with the characters and betrayal and the family dynamic(what happened with Madison btw?). Then we get to the end and everyone is great except where is the daughter and the brother who was in the story. I mean we have these great fantastic characters and then they get left out in the cold. Yeah that just wasn’t cool and I don’t understand how his daughter wouldn’t be within the dynamic of the family fallout. Anyways it was a great beginning and middle.
This book was an unexpected surprise in the best possible way. I’m a fan of Mia Mara and have read so many of her books, but this one was so emotionally driven, it wasn’t just a taboo troupe. Gavin is everything you want from a MMC but he has this major internal conflict over what is happening with him and Charlotte. Charlotte is such a well written character with so much depth. She is driven and every choice she makes is well thought out and based on her true feelings. This book pulled me in and didn’t disappoint. This is an excellent read.

I really enjoyed this book right up until the ending!
Spoiler alert!
She is pregnant with his child and he acts like a spoilt brat, ignoring her and their baby for weeks, even has his reception staff block her and then one little conversation with his equally spoilt brat of a son and he throws her over his shoulders caveman style (while she is now several weeks pregnant), when she's had enough and calls it quits. He was literally willing to hold her hostage till she listened and agreed to him. I'm all for a happy ending, but in my opinion he should have gone to her and grovelled, she tried too hard, forgave too easily and turned into a doormat too easily.

Charlotte is a professional wedding planner who’s life fall apart after a breakup. She meets Gavin, an older silver fox at a bar and he makes her forget her problems for a hot steamy night. Then the wedding of her career falls into her lap and guess who’s the groom – her ex and his dad is the silver fox and he is paying for it!! Buckle up for great banter, flirting, chaos, fun, misunderstandings and chemistry that leaps off the page. I’d give this book 6 stars if I could.

Accidental Ex's Dad by Mia Mara was impossible to put down. Such a page turner. Charlotte was a perfect type A personality who is hired to plan a wedding that surprisingly has her ex as the groom. It also includes her one night stand, Gavin, who is the father of the groom. Secrets are kept which inevitably come out. Gavin is a fantastic character. Any woman would want him. The banter between Charlotte and Gavin is so much fun. The story flows with no gaps. A great way to spend the day with these characters.

Coincidences you say.... No spoilers here but if you love romances where fate is meddling, secrets explode at the worst possible moment, and the connection between the leads -Gavin and Charlotte, or should we call her Charlie - is so strong it bulldozes every obstacle—including the massive, messy coincidence at the centre of the plot—then Accidental Ex’s Dad is a wildly entertaining ride.
It’s dramatically fun. It’s chaotic. It’s deliciously improbable. And honestly? That’s exactly what makes it so addictive.

Accidental Ex’s Dad was a fun, steamy, and addictive read that kept me turning the pages. The chemistry between the main characters was undeniable from the start, and their connection felt natural despite the complicated situation. I loved the mix of tension, humor, and heartfelt moments throughout the story. The characters were engaging, and I found myself rooting for them from beginning to end. If you enjoy age-gap romance, strong chemistry, and a story that balances spice with emotion, this one is definitely worth picking up! 📚💕
I absolutely loved Gavin and Charlotte! Her type-A personality and his carefree style really brought the perfect balance. No matter how hard they tried to make it a one-time thing, fate had different ideas. I found it refreshing to skip the typical drama with the 'sleeping with her ex's dad' tropes. The witty banter, built-up tension, surprising secrets, and extremely spicy moments had me devouring this book in one day!

After Charlotte and Ben broke up she and her friend go to their favorite bar for some drinks and just when Charlotte is getting tipsy her friend dares her to go talk to the handsome guy at the end of the bar. She ends up having a steamy night with the older handsome man and part ways only for her to find out she is pregnant a few weeks later. As a wedding planner she takes a job over the internet and finds out it is her ex's father Gavin is her one night stand. Loved this book with all the things that happen in this complicated situation.

Who doesn’t love forbidden attraction. Not just forbidden, scandal and full on hot chemistry. This book has great pace and full on drama, let’s not forget the emotions that nearly stop Gavin and Charlotte find their way. Gavin is one sexy fox and Charlotte learns to be happy in her own skin. So loved this book, I laughed, I cried and I found myself shouting and shaking my head. Loving every page of this book.

The author keeps writing “Accidental” stories and I keep reading. Much different than other Ex’s Dad stories I’ve read and I completely enjoyed it. The father and son are not estranged; Gavin is a good guy and Charlotte and the fiancée become friends. It starts with a choice not a drunk moment which I found refreshing. There are highs and lows and fun and angst. Well written with wonderful characters and great steam.
Charlotte decides to be spontaneous after ex, Ben, implies she's too structured by making the first move on Gavin at the bar. Turns out, Gavin is Ben's father and Ben's new fiancée, Holly, has hired her as their wedding planner! What could possibly go wrong?
If a storm of chaos and drama is what you enjoy, this story is for you. A fluffy story of happiness and no conflict is not found here.

'What's the best way of getting over your ex? Hooking up with his silver fox dad. Oops… even if it was a hot accident.'
The characters were very appealing and likeable and complicated and perfectly steamy together. Plot was intriguing and intense and well paced. World building was solidly drawn and impressive. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

So Gavin and Charlotte meet at a bar, have a one night stand and she discovers who he is just as she is leaving. This story can get confusing, so keep your eye on the ball. Gavin is her ex’s, Ben’s, father. Ben is marrying Holly, Charlotte is the wedding planner at Gavins resort, Holly and Charlotte get on really well and everyone seems not to know who everyone else is. Oh and Charlotte finds out she is pregnant!!
Wedding planning can be stressful, but wait till the groom meets the wedding planner his fiance hire
The storyline will have you laughing yourself silly. So many secrets being kept so no feelings get hurt no problem right? Wait and see. The men are sexy devils no one should look that good. The ladies are super hot and perfect for the guys. Hang on to your hats the fun is just getting started.
I really enjoyed this story Gavin and Charlotte were great characters and their chemistry was off the page! The other characters, Ben, Holly and Josie were great. The story was a nice slow burning romance and has a third act break up.

Charlotte is at the bar drinking to try and forget her ex. Her friends tell her she needs to find someone to help her get over her ex. Little does she know that the older man she hooks up with at the bar, is her ex's dad. Really enjoyed this book. Kept my attention from the beginning to the end.

I absolutely LOVE Mia’s age-gap ‘accidentally…’ books! They are SO well written! This one has Charlotte seeking a one night stand after a break up. She’d never done that before. She hooks up with Gavin after meeting at a Mexican cantina bar. She ends up pregnant and finds out right before her ex’s new fiancé asks her to be their wedding planner. Great story. Finished in 1 day!
