Careful What You Ask For
I first read this over a year ago and left a short five star review. Since then I’ve read all the best authors and enough other books to realize this one is not quite up there with the best. Ben even has better works.
As far as the story itself the title and art pretty much tells you what you need to know. Husband and wife on a sailboat for a week in the Caribbean. With a crew of three studly black men.
The sex is hot and plentiful. The husband is all in and right there to watch first hand. I liked that even in the midst of her passion she would check in with her husband. She expressed love and commitment to her husband but the author didn’t reinforce that with her actions.
I think what was lacking in the story was that everything was way too casual. Not much tension or angst at all. She just went from one man to the other getting sluttier as she went. Which was the second drawback. Ben turned the wife and mother of two into a raging whorish slut. Yes, the sexual acts were sometimes cringe worthy. The husband? Well I guess he got more then he bargained for.
But the writing is flawless and overall it’s an entertaining read.

Well, wrap this spicy book up in a ball and GET IN MY VAGINA!! Holy fuckalisious Batman, this was scorching hot. Alright, alright.. I need to chill. Where do I start? Jeremy and Jennifer are happily married and very much in love and have been for a very long time. Jeremy has recently sold his successful company and has made quite a bit of money from it. What better way to celebrate a then to take a private cruise. If you've been married a long time, you know that sex can get stagnant and stale and sometimes feel very routine. Jeremy and Jennifer keep their sex life interesting by role playing. And this is where our story begins....
Umm... I just had an orgasm from that one line. This book is filled with dirty talking and a lot of action.
When do you cross the line from role playing into actually living out a fantasy? This is what Jeremy and Jennifer are struggling with. Overall, I thought it was fantastic. The writing is really good, the story pacing was fast and since there is sex on almost every page, I felt like I was watching porn. This is going on my 2 finger, 1 hand read shelf for sure. I've bookmarked a couple of juicy scenes so I can refer back to them often. The little bit of story that's in here is really good, well placed and even somewhat believable. I think the conversations between Jeremy and Jennifer are very believable but the fantasy itself, is just a fantasy and I loved every big, black inch of it. It's a testament to the author's clever writing that I enjoyed a book I was at first wary of. The subject matter is one I've not been personally attracted to, but then that's the beauty of reading, isn't it? Exploring new ideas and ways of looking at a situation.
The characters had quite a bit of depth of personality and the story was written with a mature viewpoint I comprehended and could respect.
The sex scenes were abundant - so be ready for a whole lot of sexy times!
The idea of wife sharing is not something I've been able to wrap my head around, but reading Jeremy's pov was extremely interesting and insightful. Being a middle aged man, he and Jessica were able to explore this new idea and recognize some potential errors and pitfalls. Although Jeremy could not have foreseen some of them, their journey was a learning experience full of possibilities.
Ultimately, Jeremy and Jessica's relationship is forever changed, leaving me squirmy with apprehension and some discomfort, but hopeful they'll be happy, with the experience a positive change in the end.

Jeremy and Jennifer Howard strike it lucky when Jeremy sells his company for a massive amount of money, so they celebrate by hiring 76ft a luxury sail-yacht for a cruise round the Caribbean. It does not take long for a naughty fantasy concerning their hunky Captain to surface, one that both Jeremy and Jennifer enjoy. The fantasy continues to grow as the couple begin to play testing games with each other.
The author created five likeable and believable characters and put them together on a boat, the scenario he gave them was for the most part creditable, although it did push the boundaries of realism once the real naughty stuff began to emerge.
I liked the way realism returned to the book and to Jeremy once he got back on dry land, which brought the story to a nice conclusion, although perhaps just leaving the door ajar for further adventures. Ben Boswell is one of the best writers in the hotwife/cuckold genre and Dark Tide is a very good read, stimulating more than just the mind of the reader

I bought this book over 3 yr ago and greatly enjoyed it. I have read it a few times, most recently finishing it today.
This hotwife tale is different than most; it’s not a continuing story but rather a Caribbean week long event. As usual, Ben’s sex scenes are hot, but the real story is the couple, their different views of risk, the misinterpretation of words and the unexpected aspects of getting what you ask for.
It’s easy to read this book as just another sexy novel, a little racier than some of the other authors in his group. But if you read it that way, you will miss the importance of Ben’s writing. Ben always has a message, and for me it’s important to think of the questions he poses in my own life. I’m a risk taker and an entrepreneur, so Ben’s questions are particularly relevant. What I’m not certain of is whether thinking about risk further will change my decisions? Can a leopard change his spots?
I normally give Ben 5’s for this type of novel. In this case I didn’t think I got to know the couple well enough, so I didn’t feel the relationship as well as I did in his other novels. Perhaps if the novel had started prior to the cruise, and we had seen some of wife’s earlier angst, I would have connected better with them.
That’s a small discomfort about this book; otherwise a thought provoking, super sexy novel with some imaginative and unexpected twists. I’m looking forward to his next offering!

As dark as night
What I liked most about this book was the ongoing communication between the husband and wife. What I liked least was the ending, wife taking on all comers, or should that be 'cummers'. All in all, one of Ben's better reads.

Torn between rating this fine book a 4 or a 5. Enjoyed the complete work a lot but the last few chapters got a little crazy and the last chapter could have gone badly.
In the end, I will say it was a very strong 4. No regret in reading or hesitation in recommending.

This book is seriously hot. It was built around real, likeable characters and the story unfolds like a delicate flower, with intoxicating pollen at its centre. The sex is racy and dangerous and the potential for the fantasy to go wrong makes this a worthy read for those who like to wander the borders between safety and stupidity. Great work.

Without a doubt this was THE BEST interracial sex book I've ever read. It didn't in ant way demean the husband and yet the sex she had with the BBC was amazing. The best part was the end where they went back and the two of them had a HEA!

One of the Best from a master of angst
I hadn't read this book in a few years and decided to revisit it. I enjoyed it just as much the second time. Ben is so good at writing these stories. There is great sex, angst, and always a good story. So much better then most of the books you'll find on Amozon. Read and enjoy!
