Boone did his best to carefully observe Elias without crossing lines and revealing himself, but Elias has a penchant for trouble. Once the two connect, the chemistry between them is instantaneous.

Their story is sweet, funny, and steamy, and I cannot wait for more of this multi author series!

I really wanted to love this one, I'm obsessed with cryptid monster romances and I've read some incredibly good (and wild) ones. Unfortunately this one just didn't hit for me. The blend of current day technology and runes had me a bit baffled, as if the cryptids can shift into humans, why can't they just procure sat phones or cell phones and their own internal grid instead of magic?

Setting that aside - because paranormal worlds aren't always logical - I struggled a bit to see any real relationship development between the leads. Elias was a biologist with the hots for Bigfoot that very rapidly turned into love but felt kind of creepy, and Boone was a reclusive and possessive character who had been pining for years but had deep self esteem issues. Instead of them slowly growing together it felt like scenes were rushed to move the story along, and the timeline was just too short to be believable.

From there, I also really struggled with the incessant use of negative-positive parallelism. It got to the point where it was almost every page, and sometimes multiple times a page, and it completely began to pull me out of the story. It's a wonderful literary element to use, but not to that extent.

All in all, it was a mildly confusing and lacklustre read, but I'm really looking forward to the others in the series as they're all written by different authors.

DNF @95% ... and yes, I know how ridiculous that sounds 😂 Fun concept, the beginning kept my attention, but then the writing devolved into a Claude-slog and I found myself skimming impatiently to try to actually wring some story out of the endless meandering blather. Le sigh. Hit the epilogue and just couldn't handle any more of it, so I'm out and on to the next one 🤷

Elias Hart has carved out a corner of my rib cage and settled in without permission.
And I… I don’t know how to make him leave.
Or if I even want to.

This was a sweet story. It was cute how the grumpy sasquatch, Boone, was the one who fell first. He watched biologist Elias from afar for a few years, helping him out in little ways. Elias could sense something was out there helping him but never knew what it was. I loved how accepting and curious Elias was when they finally did meet. It wasn't fated mates or anything, but there was definitely an instant connection between the two. They were both so caring and protective of one another. A lot of the story was just full of cozy moments between them as they got to know each other. I thought maybe there might be more action or danger, but it was very tame in that regard.

There were a few plot points I wasn't sure about, but the coolest part, for me, was how Boone's connection to the land was portrayed. The forest was a living, breathing thing, and Boone clearly belonged to it. Elias may not have had the same relationship with the forest as Boone did, but he had his own respect for it, and it was easy to see him fitting seamlessly into Boone's world.

I thought the logistics of a human being with a sasquatch were also handled well. I'm not really up on my sasquatch lore, so I'm not sure if this is typical, but Boone had some very creative anatomy that helped in this department!

We met a lot of other cryptids in the book, many who will be featured in the other books in the series, and they were interesting as well. I'm kind of curious to see how the other authors keep building out this shared world.

I really enjoyed Elias and his absolute trust in Boone. That was amazing to read
Boone was much more wary, which is understandable due to.his age.

I would have loved to get more background on Booneas we don't get to know how he got so wary of humans

I loved the network and I am sure to read more books in this series - which also seems like a great way to get to know new authors

This was incredible adorable!! I took a hot minute to get into it, as the plot doesn't pick-up-pick-up for a bit, but when it does? Butterflies and feels all around. Then again, this is a slow-burn.

This was about fated feelings and kismet moments, but it was also about kindness and trust. It was caring about nature before yourself and letting the magic remain mysterious. Family and friends, even if you prefer solitude, always having your back.

This was sooo sweet! I don’t know if the rest will be as sweet, or if there will be more angst and/or darkness, it I’m here for it.

And this is just the first novel in the first of two multi-author cryptid-based mm romance series coming this fall. Bring all of the spooks.

Oh my goodness - this is the most amazing cryptid book ever! I am utterly blown away by how much I am in love with Boone and Elias, and by how completely the author created a world where myth and legend exist alongside mundane humanity. Monsters and cryptids are some of my weaknesses in MM fiction and Becca Seymour hit this one out of the park.

Elias is the sweet, sunshiny research professor, who'd rather be in the forest with his soil samples and growth projections - and has the unique ability to "sense" something watching him from the treeline - even if he can't see anything there. Boone is the stoic and disciplined Bigfoot, who finds himself throwing all his rules and common sense out the window for the utterly infuriating, and entrancing, human scientist - and ends up gaining more than he ever thought possible. I really loved how vulnerable, and truly lonely Boone is - even if he doesn't want to admit it - and how much he wanted something "more", but is afraid to reach for it. Elias learns that the world is bigger than he thought it was and with a childlike wonder and the curiosity of a true scientist, he embraces the existence of Boone and his world with grace and only mild existential shock. The author really takes the time to let each character speak and to grow in their feelings and attraction to each other and it moves along at the perfect pace to draw the reader in and be believable. This isn't instalove but a steady growth towards something deep and real. The intimate scenes are both hot and sweet and full of heartwarming acceptance and honesty. Of course, I absolutely loved the secondary characters and, more than once, found myself laughing out loud at Boone's cryptid buddies banter! Who knew that mythological creatures could be so dramatic and fond of gossip! Lol I'm seriously going to have to read the other books in this series now!

I don't want to give away too much here but I 100% recommend that all lovers of mysterious, cryptid creatures grab up this book as soon as possible! I would give this 10/5* - it's really that good!

I absolutely loved this story. Bootylicious is the sweetest love story between a Sasquatch, aka Bigfoot, real name Boone, and an adorkable human scientist, Elias. From the start, you get introduced to the pining and angst that Boone has towards Elias. Honestly, I think it's so cute. He's mentally beating himself up for being obsessed with this cute biologist, who is completely oblivious to his existence. He goes out of his way to make sure he stays safe. He keeps his test sites completely secure during the winter so his experiments aren't destroyed. Boone carries him to his tent after Elias knocks himself out on a trail! SWOON!!!

The plot takes a bit before they get to meet face to face. Once they do, it's insta-love. Boone just needs a bit of convincing that what Elias feels is real, no matter what he looks like. And that's what I really love about this book. The message of you deserve love and to be loved no matter your form hits so well. I hope that message carries through to the other books in this series. That's one of the aspects I love the most about monster romances. No matter your physical appearance, there is one person out there who will see you for you and love you for it. How wonderful is that??

Bigfoot is real. He has a name. And for reasons I don’t understand yet, he let me see him.

Never in my life have I thought ‘Bigfoot? Oh yeah, I’d fuck him’. But from the title alone, Bootylicious seemed like a fun time, and it was for the most part.

“I am not,” I continue firmly, “bootylicious.” He hums, clearly unconvinced. “Agree to disagree.”

Elias was super adorkable, all nervous babbling and clumsiness, but for me Boone lacked some extra… magic? As THE legendary Sasquatch, he was a little bland, unfortunately.

“You talk.” ‌‌‌‌‌ He’s breathing harder now, more with exasperation than pain. “Unfortunately.”

As was the writing. Every time, I pick up this author’s books because the premise is intriguing, and I always end up slightly disappointed. The writing just doesn’t flow right.
I enjoyed the first half more, Boone pining and Elias discovering he might be attracted to a 8-foot-tall cryptid. Then it gets a little too fast-paced and insta for me.

“Do you know how hard it is not to climb you right now?”

Overall, I still enjoyed this sweet romance, and it was surprisingly sexy despite all the fur. And we can check another ‘monster’ off the list.

I’m in love with Bigfoot, and somehow I’ll make sure I keep him.

This was such a great start to a new series I absolutely adored this book and I can not wait to see what comes next! Boone and Elias were absolutely adorable and they had me giddy and giggling the entire time. I’m a big fan of paranormal romances and it’s always extra exciting to read one with paranormals who aren’t as common, like sasquatches. Boone may have a grumpy exterior and look like he could fight a tiger but he’s also just a giant teddy bear for Elias and how can you not love that! Elias also happens to fit one of my favourite tropes of humans by being sunshine-y and also extremely clumsy, giving Boone mini heart attacks and many many opportunities to check up on him in secret. I love a good paranormal romance with characters being inexplicably drawn to each other and it was so much fun reading about Boone making excuses in his head about why he was following Elias around the woods instead of doing the many things he needed to do. I also loved how Elias somehow sensed Boone’s presence and wasn’t scared of him at all. Their first meeting was so funny and adorable and I loved seeing them help one another even if the circumstances of both their first interactions weren’t great.

These two getting to know each other was so adorable and I really enjoyed watching their relationship progress. Seeing Elias curious about Boone and Boone’s world while also showing Boone that he liked him just as he is was so sweet. I really liked how Elias saw when Boone was hesitant or uncomfortable and immediately made steps to show Boone that he didn’t care about their differences. As someone who loves size differences in paranormal romance it was also delightful seeing Boone finally get the chance to take care of the clumsy researcher instead of hovering nearby. Reading about a giant sasquatch keeping a clumsy human from falling on his face and tripping in the woods is just too cute. These two were really so much fun to read about and seeing them find ways to fit into one world together was lovely. I adored this entire story and I am so excited for the rest of the series because there’s so many interesting cryptids to meet!

Bootylicious is the first book in the multi-author Legends series. I think it’s a good start, and while there were definitely things I liked here, I ended up somewhere in the middle with this one.

Elias was a fun character. He’s clumsy, curious, and a little awkward, but I found him really likable nonetheless. Boone was sweet too, especially with how protective and caring he was toward Elias. I enjoyed their quieter moments together, and they had a nice, cozy dynamic once they finally started spending more time together.

I liked Boone and Elias together, but I didn't quite feel their relationship developing. There’s a lot of pining and attraction, and once they connect, things move pretty quickly. I would have liked more time for them to get to know each other and for their feelings to develop naturally. I just wish some of those moments had been given a little more time to develop.

While I loved the worldbuilding, I also had a few moments where the worldbuilding left me puzzled. 😅 The combination of modern technology, magic, and runes didn't always click for me. I’m usually a pretty 'go with the flow' reader, but there were a few things that just didn’t quite add up for me.

That said, I enjoyed the overall message about being loved for who you are, regardless of what you look like. The found family and cryptid community were also fun, and I’m really curious to see what the other books do with this shared world.

So, yeah... I'm a little torn. I didn't love it as much as I hoped I would, but I didn't dislike it either.

For what his book is; it was absolutely PERFECT! It was funny, sweet, exciting, unique, sexy, a little thrilling and just a damn good time!

I read this is like 3 days because I honestly just wanted to keep going back to it. I wanted to be in the world and learn about our grumpy cryptid and know what was going to happen next!

The whole concept of this series is super intriguing to me. I love the idea of these myths and legends coming to life and not only that but finding their one true love! It’s absolutely brilliant. And I will admit, the idea alone is what enticed me to apply for this ARC, I saw the cover, read the little blurb and instantly had so many questions and needed to know more!👏🏼

I am native to Washington, the home of the legend of Bigfoot and getting to have this creative insight into the life and mind of the legend himself is so fun! I was absolutely hooked from page 1. Boone’s chapters had me in a chokehold😂

The pacing and plot was done very well, there was never a moment where I was like “ugh can we just move on” or felt like it was going too quickly. It’s a cozy, funny, and little bit spicy good time and you know what? I couldn’t have asked for it to be any more!

All in all, I was pleasantly surprised by this and am genuinely very excited to continue the rest of this series!

I surprisingly really enjoyed this book. The slow burn was right up my alley and overall it was a very fun and comforting read.

Boone is a Sasquatch who dwells in the rainforest alone working as a network admin for the “otherworldly” community. Over the past couple of years Elias, a human scientist, would come seasonally to do his research and Boone has been, quite frankly, stalking Elias trying to not read too much into why he feels such attachment to a human. This year Elias injures himself causing Boone to show himself to rescue Elias.

Both Boone and Elias were great characters. Their banter made me LOL quite a bit and their relationship development was slow (slow burn anyone?), interesting, and had great emotional tension. I liked how Boone voices his concerns and also how Elias reassures him each time. Together they really are a great fit for each other.

The last 10% of the book really let the whole story down for me. I found the way the “shade” was handled felt really callous and the way Elias reacted to Boone’s method of dealing with it uncharacteristic. I also felt a little bereft because it also doesn’t really give me definite insight on how Elias and Boone will make things work in the future - just that “they will make it work together”

I was surprised to find out that this is a multi-author series and quite interested to read other couples’ books that have caught my interest.

I never in my life thought I would read a romance book involving Bigfoot but the way that Becca brought Boone and Elias together was epic.

I loved immediately how Boone made sure that Elias took care of himself when he pretty much scared him enough to call for help. I thought that was hilarious, sweet, and just all around cute. Even though that Boone was stalking Elias, he was making sure he was taken care of.

When Elias finally sees him for the first time, I loved that scene. I really thought it was cute when Elias brought him food but realize he couldn’t use the small utensils. It was too cute.

And oh lord, the squirrel moments had me giggling. When he named the squirrel and got caught, that scene had me smiling. Trying to deny it was so epic.

What I really loved was the world building because this was truly amazing how this author really made it where you are completely drawn into the world.

The epilogue, though… that was seriously everything I didn’t know I needed. The spice in that chapter and how Boone was so careful with Elias like he was made of glass.

Of course the book has some drama but I was completely all in with the characters.

I definitely need to read the other books in this series because I’m certainly interested in all the possibilities.

Ahhhh such a good book! This is my first paranormal book from Becca Seymour, though not my first read of hers, and it definitely won't be my last. It's soft and gentle, and wraps you in a huge nature-loving hug whilst also casually dropping in 'monsters' from the depths of a dozen folklores. Bigfoot Boone and his clumsy but fiercely independent scientist "with the situational awareness of a distracted kitten" Elias are the perfect pair, and if you never thought the idea of Bigfoot getting hot and heavy was sexy you are in for a real surprise (I know I was!). C*ckpocket, need I say more? There's some light peril but overall it's very low angst, and quite unlike anything I've read before, in the very best way. Having said that, it's so sweet and easy-going as a story, I was not prepared to have my heart crack like it did toward the end. Hopefully that will resolve in due course - it's part of a multi-author shared world, with each book featuring a different couple but promises visits from friends old and new along the way, and I've already got my next read from the collection lined up.

Loved it 🥰

This is the first book in the multi author Legends series and what a start it is. Boone is a very large grumpy cryptid of the Sasquatch variety who meets his match in Elias, a delightfully clumsy sunshiny biologist with a big open mind and absolutely no situational awareness. Loneliness is a part of Boone’s life but he finds himself drawn to Elias which includes a need to keep watch over him - at first to keep him safe (refer to the situational awareness issue)and then because he can’t keep away from him. When circumstances bring these two wonderful beings together it doesn’t take long for a connection to form and grow between them. So begins a literal cross country journey as Boone and Elias discover what they mean to each other and what their lives together can be like. I loved Elias and his adorable rambling to himself moments and his easy acceptance of who and what Boone is. Boone may have a touch of grumpiness about him but he’s also a big softie when of comes to Elias and I loved seeing this mellow side of him bloom. This is a low angst love story with a good mix of sweet and steam, a great cast of characters (which includes introductions to the cryptid characters from the rest of the series) and a heartwarming HEA that left me smiling.

Boone is a Sasquatch living in the Olympic National Park. He first scented Elias and has been obsessed with him since. He quietly stalks him to make sure he’s ok and fixes anything he finds that needs repairs. Elias is park ranger who visit Olympic park every year. This year he feels like someone is watching him and helping him. It isn’t until Boone bends Elias’ help that their relationship starts to take off.

Boone is this grumpy cryptid who just wants to patrol the land, while Elias is happy exploring and learning new things. The two are opposites in every way, but somehow are perfect for each other.

I loved how Elias truly fell for Boone in his Sasquatch form and just wanted him to be himself. Boone was able to show Elias things he could never dream of and fulfill him in a way that his work never could.

I really enjoyed this book. There were parts where I was giggling so hard at how uncoordinated Elias was. I can’t wait to continue this series.

I loved this story — especially watching a sasquatch fall for the accident‑prone scientist he can’t help being drawn to. Boone and Elias’s relationship starts slowly and gently, building layer by layer before speeding up near the end in a way that felt natural and deeply satisfying. Their adventures were fun and immersive, pulling me straight into their world and all the humans and cryptids they interacted with. Boone’s protective side was one of my favourite parts; every moment he worked to keep Elias safe made their connection feel even stronger. I also appreciated how many of the story’s themes of openness, acceptance, embracing differences felt beautifully applicable to real life. A warm, thoughtful, and wonderfully engaging read. This was an MM story with mature content.

This is part of the multi author Legends series featuring cryptids of all kinds including some that are straight out of nightmares or movie theaters! In this one we find a bigfoot named Boone and ‘his’ Elias, the scientist he pined for from afar—watching over and protecting him—for years before he was ultimately sighted.

I seriously loved everything about this book! Elias, sweet thing that he was, was a straight up doll! Poor guy, he was so clumsy and oblivious that, if Boone HADN’T been watching over him, he’d’ve tumbled off a cliff, been eaten by a bear or possibly drowned many times over but he was so doggone sweet and funny with all his little mutterings and apologies to trees that you can’t help but love him. And Boone, oh my gosh, I can’t imagine anyone NOT falling in love with him—claws, fur and all! Yeah, he tried to act all gruff and growly but he was actually the softest, squishiest, SWEETEST, marshmallow ever and these two together were perfect for each other, no matter their form.

I can’t wait for you to read it too so grab it today! For myself, I’m looking forward to reading more of these legendary characters. 4.5 growly stars

Definitely cuteness on overload. Orcs have forever held the number one slot in my heart, followed by minotaurs and, after this, sasquatch have officially taken over slot #3.


Thoroughly enjoyed the read once we finally got through pining from 7000000 feet away...OMG!!!

And I sooo appreciated when the spice finally showed up to help keep me even more invested in this extremely sloooooow burn. I cannot tell a lie. It's still a beautiful thing to watch a lonely, workaholic, über grouch with all the feels for a SUPREMELY clumsy, sunshine, biologist, ultimately get the man of his dreams.

I'm even more excited to watch this world slowly unfold with tales of fated mates for infamously solo, paranormal legends.

That said, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we get the opp to read about one not so villainy as originally thought cryptid in particular FINALLY having the chance to experience the love he so desperately seeks.


For the record, I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review. But I would have read this even if GRR had not provided an advanced copy. It's just that cute.

Bootylicious is the first book in the new multi-author Legends Series. Each book in the series focuses on a different cryptid falling in love. In Bootylicious, Becca Seymour brings us the charming story of Boone, the Bigfoot, who falls for wildlife biologist Elias Hart. This is a fun and entertaining start to the series and I am excited to read the books that will follow.
Becca Seymour does a wonderful job setting the groundwork for this series. In this book we are introduced to several of the cryptids because Boone is in charge of keeping the Monster Network running from his cave with a combination of technology and magic. Boone has watched Elias for two years while he comes to the forest to study the ecosystems. Despite feeling like someone was there in the woods, it was not until a chance encounter that Boone and Elias meet. Rather than fear the gentle giant, Elias is enchanted by Boone and they soon become inseparable.
I was not sure what to think of a Bigfoot romance but I loved it. I love the personalities that Seymour gave Boone and his friends. Her creative storytelling and character development shine throughout this book.

Bootylicious is the first book in the multi-author Legends series focused on a variety of cryptid/human pairings. I was really intrigued by the blurb for this one, as well as the really cool covers for the series, but I’ll admit, I didn’t really know what to expect. I was prepared for this to be some cheesy fun, particularly with that title (which is a reference to Boone’s great butt), and I would have been fine with that. But I was pleasantly surprised by how charming and warm this story is, with some really interesting world building and some lovely moments.

I found this story unexpectedly charming and delightful. I think a lots rests on Seymour’s writing and the fun dynamic between Boone and Elias. The author also does a nice job laying the ground work for some future books in the series, and overall the Legends stories look like they will be a lot of fun.

4.5 Rounded up!

I was a big big fan of this one. Like I instantly told multiple people that they had to pick it up because it has a Bigfoot just absolutely pining after a human year after year and being so freaking grumpy about it! If that's not the most fun setup than I just don't know what is.

I love how this opens to Boone's thoughts and how even though Elias has not even stepped into the forest yet, he's already thinking of him. It just sets it up so great, because we're able to immediately clock that Boone is 100% into Elias and he absolutely does not want to be but also will not do anything to stop it. And Elias is so adorable from the first page he steps on. He just loves his research and he's so clumsy and sweet and the second he sees Boone, even in his Bigfoot form, he's 100% all in. It makes for just a very sweet and steamy book and makes me so excited for this series!

In a year that seems to be brimming with MM Cryptids (to which I say thank you thank you thank you), you're not going to want to miss this one.

Bigfoot Boone manages the Monster Network and protects the forest. He is also supposed to avoid humans but cannot seem to follow that rule where Elias Hart is concerned. Elias is a biologist and returns every year to check on his stations and collect data. He is sure he senses someone watching and following him but usually sees nothing. Boone tries to keep his distance but Elias needs his help on occasion. Boone’s attraction to Elias should not be but love does not care.

Boone is alone and grumpy. He wants Elias and that makes him even grumpier. Elias is sweet, dedicated to his research and a bit clumsy. When he sees Boone as a Bigfoot, he is not at all scared. Instead, he has lots of questions. As the two get closer, steam rises and their conversations bring a smile. I am enjoying this cryptid series. They are so much fun to read. Boone and Elias will always be first in my thoughts though. The book may end but they remain with me.

From the very moment you meet Boone, big foot, you feel his loneliness and want for Elias the researcher who comes back to his mountains each spring. Elias is a breath of fresh air, and joy that Boone cannot help but be drawn to each year. The beauty of this writing is next level; you feel the longing and want and know when he allows himself to be seen by this beautiful human for the first time. Boones reluctances to allow Elias truly in you feel, yet Elias at every single turn shows him he will stay with him no matter what, yes, it will take time, but their bond is unwavering and strong. Their love story shows no matter who or what you are or what you may appear as to the outside world deserves to find that partner who truly sees you for who you are. The side characters and antics of their network draws you further into this world and makes you want more and to see how these other cryptids find their mate. Seriously though the group chats are awesome and so frigging fun and bring a fun lightness to the series.

Boone and Elias were such a delight to read about!! I've never read a Bigfoot story before so when I saw this one pop up, I knew I had to read it! I'm so glad I did, this story was so much fun to read, I was smiling and struggling with not laughing out loud almost the whole time I was reading this. It was just so enjoyable to read and the characters were extraordinary! I loved the banter between these two and how they have an easy connection with each other. They might have started off as strangers, but that quickly evolved into something deeper, into something both of them were surprised by. Something like love, and possibly forever..

The world building was also really great, I enjoyed reading about Elias and Boone trying to protect the forest and research animals and plants. Oh! And the pesky squirrel who adopted Boone was so adorable!

All in all, a really great book and this has made me want to resd the other books in this series!

Bigfoot's job is simple. Protect the forest and Monster Network and don't get emotionally attached to humans. But all that changes when he sees himan biologist Elias from afar and keeps watch when he's around. It's starting to get harder to keep his distance with these feelings coming up inside him. To make matters more complicated Elias is close to discovering things Bigfoot has spend his life keeping secret and safe and those in the monster network will definitely have a problem and have to take matters into their own hands if Bigfoot doesn't get himself straight. But that pull is there and romantic feelings are involved that make it easier said than done to do his job. Elias and Bigfoot must now navigate this complex situation without losing each other in the process. This was such a different type of book that I've read before but I shouldn't have doubted this author as they always give us skmething entertaining and this book is no different.

This is a PNR about an adorable, klutzy, nerdy human and the sweet, caring, possessive cryptid who has kept watch over him for years. Elias is a biologist who has come back to the same spot in the forest for a few years to do research. He has always felt someone watching him, but had no idea it was a huge sasquatch that followed him around. Boone rescues Elias while in his human form, then Elias rescues Boone and sees him in his sasquatch form. It turns out that Elias likes him no matter how he appears. I love how Elias trips everywhere he goes and asks a million questions. I think it's original that Boone runs a cryptid online network, and the notes the different cryptids send each other are quite funny. The humour, sweet romance, spice and adventure kept me immersed in the story. I'm curious to read about some of the other monsters in the series, in books written by a variety of authors.
I read an advanced copy, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Loved this story, the characters, the settings and story developments.
The character growth and developments between the two main are lovey, the learning to trust each other and understand each others feeling and growing stronger together with that.

I loved all the different types of characters, humans and Cryptics, their personalities, fave side character has to be Giles.
The un expected little story’s, one near the end that left me feeling a lot for a unrooted cryptic.

The relationships between humans and cryptics, displaying the real nature between how humans behave towards the unknown or that of creatures and animals and their homes.
The finding of peace and acceptance.

Loved this book and will definitely look into the others in the series!
