Grant Morrison has been working with DC Comics for twenty five years, after beginning their American comics career with acclaimed runs on ANIMAL MAN and DOOM PATROL. Since then they have written such best-selling series as JLA, BATMAN and New X-Men, as well as such creator-owned works as THE INVISIBLES, SEAGUY, THE FILTH, WE3 and JOE THE BARBARIAN. In addition to expanding the DC Universe through titles ranging from the Eisner Award-winning SEVEN SOLDIERS and ALL-STAR SUPERMAN to the reality-shattering epic of FINAL CRISIS, they have also reinvented the worlds of the Dark Knight Detective in BATMAN AND ROBIN and BATMAN, INCORPORATED and the Man of Steel in The New 52 ACTION COMICS.

In their secret identity, Morrison is a "counterculture" spokesperson, a musician, an award-winning playwright and a chaos magician. They are also the author of the New York Times bestseller Supergods, a groundbreaking psycho-historic mapping of the superhero as a cultural organism. They divide their time between their homes in Los Angeles and Scotland.

And in true Morrison style, it all comes together at the end to try and make some semblance of sense.

I have mixed feelings about this issue, stories with way too many characters don't always sit right with me, for the magnitude of the story maybe you needed all these people, but at the same time a lot of them looked utterly useless in the fight.
But yeah what I expected would happen in the last issue happened, but I didn't expect the Gentry to be answering to a higher power, not only that they already decimated an entire multiverse before coming to this multiverse we are reading about, my advice tighten up this multiverse and don't ever write about another one, because this one already needs a lot of work for over half of these Earths to even matter.
My reading posture is fucking up my neck these days again that I am reading so much, I am not sure if I should tone it down, and if I do tone it down what else do I have to do!
In the first issue it was said that the Gentry will attack all Earths at the same time with catastrophes, that explained all the standalone stories, because these were the catastrophes you had to deal with because of the Gentry, and Nix Outan explained that in the end by saying that he was the one that let loose the army of crazy scientists (Sivana) and let Darkseid loose.
I feel it would be silly if they manage to beat the boss guy, but if he just attacks each earth with one Gentry and they manage to beat it on their own without the help of other earth's that would be something to see.

An almost great read !
Grant Morrison is one of the most imaginative writers in comics but He
s so frustrating sometimes !
Engaging chracters,Intriguing plots, Spellbinding Epic moments in the story
but then a anti-climax or unfulfilling end that just ruins it or leaves it one step from a masterpiece ! The Art work is beautiful and really complements the the story

Ugh. Again. What the funk was that? This was the lesser of many evils. Kinda like how Episode 3, although unwatchable, is the "best" of the prequels. This was an up and down ride for me. They were losing me quickly in the first few pages, then my interest was locked in for about 3/4 of the book, only to be ruined by a "clever" Morrison ending. Too clever with Morrison is sometimes seen as weird, which many think makes the story unique, a rarity, or cutting edge. In this story arc, the so-called clever bits were often off-putting and downright stupid. This is one arc I'm sad to say I'm happy to be done with. The last two pages are an insult to the audience. I've no idea how the quality and style of the stories in this arc varied so wildly. I'm a comics noob and quickly discovered that in recent history Morrison is one of the "it" writers. Thank God I didn't have this as my first taste of his work, otherwise I never would have read his stuff again. To sum it up, I dunno if this arc deserves a recommendation. Just be warned, for a supposedly massive crisis that affects the whole multiversity, you might be disappointed with the craptacular factor of the issues. I really hope this run isn't DC's tribute to the 30th anniversary of Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Well, it's not like I can pretend I'm surprised that it ended in incomprehensible gobbledygook.
