Elaine has won a place on a training course for potential event riders but first she has to shake off the eccentric Fane sisters who still insist that they own a share in her event horse. This proves no easy task and, at the training centre, Elaine's problems increase. The exacting standards sent by the instructor and the rivalry between the students cause her to doubt her ability . Not only that, but she begins to realise that the glossy, exclusive world of three-day eventing is not quite what it seems. With a gallery of memorable characters, both human and equine, lots of humour and some truly heart-stopping moments, Ticket to Ride brings this highly successful trilogy to a close. From reviews of the Eventing 'Touching, frequently hilarious, but always gripping.' Hoofprint 'Unforgettable. An excellently told story.' Horse & Hound 'Ideal for curling up with. A delightful story.' Manchester Evening News

A mixed bag. Anything involving Elaine learning on Legend, and her interactions with the other scholarship students is a real treat. Anything involving Henrietta (particularly, of the Fanes - Nigella isn't as bad) feels like more of a waste of pages. Anything involving Nick is awful - he is truly abusive in his actions towards Elaine.
What a wonderful book! I know this was once the end of the series (before a fourth book was added) and what a fitting end! Elaine enrolls in a proper training course and we meet other pony mad girls and the Fanes are still oblivious to how basic life works. This is fast-paced and hilarious, the ending is really special. Very curious to read the next book bow!
The perfect ly chaotic and delightful ending fit this book... This was a delightfully whimsical and enjoyable trilogy. I look forward to reading more from this author.
The end of a fun trilogy, I was satisifed with the ending and only wish that a fourth book existed! I want to see what sort of rubbish the Fanes spend their fortune on ;D
Hard work pays off for Elaine and Legend... two older people find love ... Elaine realizes that family is more important than winning. Triumphant and tragic, painful and glorious - horse lovers will feel at home here.
Look I have loved this book socne a 11 ye old horseynkid and the esoteric 1980s English slang but I also having learnt about what the Fane stsbllesband rundown Manor ..
Love this book just love it, Elaine is trying to get out from under the Fane's thumbs, at first she thinks she wont fit in with the other girls on the scholarship training course. But thay do become friends in the end. The Fane's hover on the edge unsettling Elaine, there is even talk off saleing her horse, until there money situation changes.

The third part of the trilogy presented to me in one book. An old fashioned feel good story, the author clearly knows all about the idiosyncrasies and unpredictability of horses. She also seems to be pretty well versed in the eccentricities of some of the impoverished English aristocracy. it makes for a hilarious, laugh out loud read. Just the thing for over Christmas.
What a fabulous series this was. This, the final book in the trilogy, details Elaine's experiences as a scholarship student trying to get into the junior olympic team. Same bright writing, same humor, same amount of good horsey detail.
This series has been the most fun reading I have had in quite a long while. A plucky and interesting heroine and great horses. A devastatingly handsome whipper in and the never-ending entertainment of the Fane sisters. Please don't end this series yet!
