Every unit of the FBI has those cases that just make an agent think, make them feel, and make them wonder why people treat others the way they do. PAVAD--the Prevention & Analysis of Violent Acts Division of the FBI--was no different. This was one of those cases.
CCU Team Three hadn't always been one of the top investigative teams in the nation. They had to start somewhere... Portland, Oregon was that start. A hacker with a story of his own was attacking specific targets in the city, each target leading up to a larger one.
This hacker had a story, and it might just lead Team Three straight into a terroristic plot!
Case File #0002 is the second release in a series of mystery novellas featuring characters from the PAVAD: FBI Romantic Suspense series. These novellas feature complete suspense stories and can be read in any order. This Case File features Team Three, led by Agent Sebastian Lorcan, with some special help provided by Agent Carrie Sparks, best computer hacker PAVAD had ever seen--or hired!
Calle Jaye is fun, playful, ironic, professional and sophisticated. She’s super-educated in the field of fiction and would spend most of her time walking around in “Book World” (or”eBook World”).
Does she have slight control freak tendencies? Yep. Why else would she chose to self-publish?
In her day job she gets to read romance novels. In her night job she gets to write them!
Her favorite color is bold purple. She likes rock like Kid Rock, Shinedown, and Nickelback. Add in a bit of Anastacia and Adelle, too.
She collects rocks. Watches crime dramas. Abhors Lifetime Movies and Titanic (especially Leo…) and refuses to read or write about sparkly teen vampires.
She’s married to a cop she strongly suspects is a vampire. They’ve made vampire babies, too.
They live in Indiana with their vampire relatives and their vampire dogs.
Knocked Down (PAVAD: FBI Case Files) Case File #0002 by Calle J. Brookes
This series 3 in total are well written novellas featuring some of the previous characters of the PAVAD. Its great seeing how each team is doing from the previous books..
Great short stories and well written, very enjoyable.
A quick snapshot of a case where Carrie and Sebastian work with local enforcement when two cases appear to be connected and could potentially lead to a bigger terroristic plot😢
A good, quick read to keep your thumb on the pulse of the developing PAVAD Teams😁
Calle J. Brookes has created a family in the PAVAD series. It is always Pleasant to run into a character from another story. Bad guys never win in her stories although sometimes you wonder until you get to the end. Brookes' books always satisfy and the good guys always win - thank goodness!
This was a really good story. It is listed as it could be read as a prequel to Wanting of the PAVAD main series, but I think l would only read it that way during a re-read. However that's just my opinion. I could see others enjoying it as a prequel. Love the storyline and the flashback.
This should have been a prequel to team three as it was based on the development of the team by Sebastian Lorcan. A introduction to a great group of characters with an exciting storyline. Suggest that it be read before "Wanting."
It nice too read how some of the cases have been worked on when some of the team's are either being out together, or are already. But this one was a case before Sebastian & Carrie became a official couple.
This novella is a great backstory to Carrie and Lorcan's novel. We see the relationship develop and the characters stay true to form. This story also features a crime and the forming of team 3 in the PAVAD unit.
This book is a mystery novel. It's about Sebastian Lorcan along with Team 3 finding a hacker. Sebastian Lorcan finalized Team 3, sending 5 people back and keeping 5. He then offers 1 other person a position with the team.
A nice little filler in a good series. I would definitely recommend reading the Case Files spin off series after the Pavad main series to avoid spoilers.
Another case by the PAVAD team. Another shorter novella that fills in some of the missing pieces left by some of the longer novels. A good fill-in and a fun read, with enough action to leave me wanting more. 5 stars.
