Elizabeth
Daughter of a fallen queen, young Princess Elizabeth lives a complicated and dangerous life. She fears her father's famous temper but loves him dearly - she would trade all her jewels just to be noticed by him. As the royal family moves palaces, court intrigue swirls around the young princess, under the threat of a French invasion.
Anne Boleyn and Me
When the King came riding in on his big, black horse, a murmur went up, because his tunic was stitched with the words, Declare I Dare Not. All the ladies were giggling behind their hands, and I asked Mama what it meant. Her face had turned quite pink and she said, 'Never mind', so I asked Rosanna later.
Victoria
Offers vividly imagined accounts of queens and princesses from the past.
Bloody Tower
Tilly lives in turbulent times. It's the 1550s; when Queen Mary ousts Lady Jane Grey to win the throne, her executioners are kept busy. Even Princess Elizabeth is imprisoned in the Tower. As Tilly watches the plots and politics of the Tudor court unfolding, she waits for her chance to deliver a very important letter...
The only book that I have out of this collection is Elizabeth, and I thought that it was beautifully written. It was in the form of a diary. The only thing that I found negative was that they only did the few years around her fathers time of death and did not go into her whole life like what I was expecting. Otherwise I thought that the book was a good read.
I remember reading these books in 3rd and 4th grades, I didn't understand everything most of the time, but I did enjoy them.I only learned later hpw valuable they were. They actually ,made history intriguing and interesting.
Only read the Victoria diary. Mostly slightly tedious, but it gained an extra star towards the end because despite myself I felt like reading some actual history once I was finished.
I'm reading My Royal Story- Victoria and I feel it is for a certain type of reader. It isn't an adventure and doesn’t have a lot of action from what I've read so far. It is more a historical interesting book/diary told from young queen Victoria and that era. The main character is young Victoria (age 10 or so). There is also her mother and other staff members throughout the story. The other characters are there to simply keep the story moving. The diary is what is happening around her, her thoughts, feelings and memories. That the young queen has been secretly writing. I don't think it is a real diary but it most likely has aspects of truth from the way she is living and the era. The main story line is going through her luxury life as a future queen. With balls and birthdays and vacation throughout the story. The book is written in the style of a diary/journal. It is a historical/interesting as it is told from that era of queens, so it is interesting to read about how they lived and dressed etc. It is told from young queen Victoria's point of view. I didn’t love the book but I didn’t hate it. It was a bit slow and dull, and there wasn’t much of a story line. But it was interesting reading how people lived in that era, and how they traveled and dressed and treated everyone.
Only read Elizabeth : a Tudor princess's diary 1544. An historical novel for teenagers, written in a diary format. An intriguing look at life at Court under the rule of King Henry VIII. Elizabeth's mother was Anne Boleyn who had been beheaded, so Elizabeth's place in King Henry's heart was not assured and Elizabeth had to do everything should could to keep in favour. One for the history buffs.
