He was someone who belonged in my wildest fantasies instead of a rest stop in the middle of Nebraska.

A sexy, cocky, Australian named Chance was the last person I expected to run into on my cross-country drive.

When my car broke down, we made a deal. Next thing I knew, we were traveling together, spending sexually-tense nights in hotels and taking unplanned detours.

My ordinary road trip turned into the adventure of a lifetime. It was all fun and games until things got intense.

I wanted him, but Chance wouldn’t make a move. I thought he wanted me too, but something was holding him back.

I wasn’t supposed to fall for the cocky bastard, especially when I knew we’d be going our separate ways.

All good things must come to an end, right?

Except our ending was one I didn’t see coming.

Author's note - Cocky Bastard is a full-length standalone novel. Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

I’m currently kicking my own a$$ for not reading this one sooner. Why did I waited so long to read it? I honestly don’t know. Ugh…It goes without saying you must read this one ASAP, of course if you have it in your list, if not, add it immediately because I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. If you are looking for a great mix of steam, romance and humor look no further, because 'Cocky Bastard' was exactly that…and more.

“You’re not suggesting…”
“Yes. Yes, I am. If I change your tire, you let me ride with you.”
“Ride with me?”
“Ride me, yes.”
“What did you just say?”
“You’re hearing things.”

Aubrey is on a road trip to California. She needs a fresh new start after her douchebag (now) ex-boyfriend cheated on her. She left everything behind and took the first position she got as a lawyer at a small startup firm in Temecula, CA. Her road trip definitely changes for the better I would say when on the road she meets Chance, a sexy, arrogant man who gets on her nerves, yet makes her hornier than she’d ever been.

“What’s C.B. stand for anyway?”
“Those are my initials.”
“Let me guess…Cocky Bastard?”

Chance is a sexy Aussie who used to be a professional soccer player. He’s on his way home to California when his motorcycle dies on him. Aubrey and Chance agree to travel together in Aubrey’s car after Chance fixes it for her.

AS time passes and they get to know each other, Aubrey and Chance can’t deny the strong chemistry between them, but they can’t forget they are headed in two different directions.
Something happens between these two and they are separated by some nasty circumstances.

“Chance was the only thing that felt right about my life right now—the only thing that felt like home for as long as I could remember.”

I really, really enjoyed this one. Like I mentioned above it has a little bit of everything which I truly enjoyed. To be honest it was much better than I expected. The story was simply fun and entertaining from start to finish. It was refreshing, it was hilarious and it was also sexy as hell.

The story is divided in two parts. The firs one is from Aubrey’s POV and the second in Chance’s POV. While the first is more fun, the second is more ‘serious’. Personally I enjoyed more the first part, so I wouldn’t have minded the entire story to be that way – simple and fun. That being said, I think overall the storyline was delightful and the way the story was told was fantastic. It kept me glued to the pages until the end.

“I had no idea where it came from; the confession just blurted itself from my lips, “I pleasure myself. Okay? Does that make you happy to hear?”
Chance grinned. “As a matter of fact, it does.” He shrugged. “I pleasure myself too, Aubrey. In fact, the next time I rub one out, I’m going to picture you.”

Both Aubrey and Chance were endearing, well developed characters. I liked Aubrey and overall I enjoyed her personality. She was fun, sweet and even relatable. But what made this book a great experience for me was Chance. It seems I love a cocky bastard more than I had imagined. The man was sex on a stick, gorgeous, charming and delish from head to toe. I really have to say loooved his cockiness, the way he was with Aubrey and also his dirty smart mouth.

“Holy mother of all cocky bastards. He was hung. The thing was dangling more than halfway to his knees. I took a sharp breath in, realized it was audible, and quickly slapped my hand over my mouth. I kept it there until he was completely dressed, afraid a moan might slip out.”

As the story progresses we get to see his sweet and ‘more serious’ side. And I liked this side of him as well. The man for sure knew what he wanted which I liked.

Aubrey and Chance’s chemistry was really well done and the sexual innuendos and also their sexy times were fantastically done. The dialogue between them in the first part were entertaining and I simply loved their witty banter. The back and forth between them was really hilarious at times.

Now, I have to mention a certain secondary character that almost stole the show for me...almost - the baby goat who was so f@cking cute and funny. Love it!

All in all, 'Cocky Bastard' was a very enjoyable read that will capture your attention from the beginning with many sweet and funny moments, two endearing characters that will keep you on your toes for one reason or another and a lovely romance that will capture your heart!

Wow, I found this book to be such a good time and so very different than what I had envisioned. To be honest, I had pictured a full-blown smut read (not that there's anything wrong with that). The first half was so funny, sexy and for me a full 5 Stars. Then BAM at the halfway point we get thrown a ‘2 Years Later’ the momentum kind of got thrown off a bit for me. The first half is told in Aubrey’s POV while the second half is told in Chance’s POV.

The Australian, former soccer heartthrob, Chance Bateman is a FANTASTIC hero!! His sense of humor was indeed cocky and I could have read hundreds of more pages of his pov.

description

The story turns a chance meeting and a flat tire into a road trip and an unforgettable week spent between the two characters.

”We’re not gonna kiss.” The next thing I knew Chance’s big, warm hands had cupped my face as he leaned in and growled over my mouth, “The fuck we arent.”

description

Chance pulls out all the stops two years later to win Aubrey’s love.

"They say if you let something go and it doesn’t come back to you, it was never really yours to begin with. But considering I was the one who initially left in this situation, all bets were off."

Some things were downright hilarious and others a tad bit stalker-ish but that was probably Harry, his twin. Chance can mow my lawn, get me coffee, and co-parent a goat with me anytime. Speaking of goats, I must give a huge shout-out to Pixy who is one special fainting goat.

This story was a very good time with a great hero and the humor was spot on.

”We were riding along, almost at our destination when I shouted,

“I can’t wait till you sit on my face.”

“What’s that?”

“I said, I can’t wait to show you this place.”

I think this author duo did a great job writing this story. I would recommend to friends who like a good laugh and don’t mind a time jump. Keep in mind that my reason for not fully 5 starring this one is that the heroine takes way too long to break things off with Richard and forgive Chance. The story does wrap up with a perfect epilogue and left one big grin on my face so overall it was a good read!

Aubrey “AH-BREE” Bloom, is on a road trip to a new life in California. A new job for a new law firm waits for her. She decided to leave her past behind after a bad relationship left her wanting a fresh new start. On her trip to California she made a stop in Nebraska and meets this HOT, Beautiful, Australian, and Cocky man that you only see in movies. Her first impression of him was that he was Cocky and full of himself. It annoyed her because she instantly felt attracted to him. Well I would be the same way if I ever find a blue eye, deep dimples, and a body to die for. He was just simply beautiful and irresistible with his Australian accent.

Chance Bateman a twenty-eight; retired from professional soccer in Australia was traveling to his home in California when his motorcycle died on him. He didn’t know if it was luck or faith or coincidence but he meets Aubrey on the road to his destination and makes a deal with her; they will ride together and he will make sure that she makes it there safe considering the drive to California was long and a woman on her own was not safe. She was skeptical but decided she liked him and took a chance. Chance was absolutely an eye catcher from the beginning he made me laugh so much. He would mess around with Aubrey and his accent drove her mad but in the good way.

Change and Aubrey, find a GOAT in the road and this just made the book so much interesting. I fell in love with this cute little thing and both of them were just hilarious when it came down to the Goat. They take a detour to "Las Vegas" before they reached California with their new baby Goat. Aubrey knew not to get too close to Chance after her bad breakup but she really felt a magnetic pulled and an attraction to him. Chance made her heart beat and he made her feel alive. Even thought she did not know if they would be seeing each other after they make it to California she still really wanted to find out and wanted to hope. She opens up to him, he loved flirting with her and making her laugh. The entire road trip just fascinated me, I think my cheeks hurt so much from laughing and grinning by the time I finished reading this book. Chance starts feeling the same ways for “AH-BREE” but a dark secret is keeping him from letting her in and continue something he knew that couldn’t happen even if he wanted to. It was frustrating trying to figure out his secret.

They ended up having the best last night of their life and the worse in Las Vegas. I was full of emotions half way on this book but the second half is told from Chance’s point of view and I didn’t think I could possibly love him more. Yes, what he did made me mad but he had a good reason. He went through so much to earn Aubrey’s trust back to the point that I wanted to slap her and tell her to wake up and see the big picture. This beautiful man would basically do anything for her and she just couldn’t see it. He basically returned and stalked her and fought hard for her. I completely loved this book from beginning to end. It was so different, fresh, funny, sexy and these two characters were both great. The events that occurred at the end had me a bit nervous but it all ends up being wrapped up so well and beautifully I loved every single minute of it. I would most defiantly recommend this book to everyone who is looking for a second change story, a story of true love, forgiveness and who don’t mind a cocky beautiful Australian accent making you laugh the entire time and a blind cute Goat added to the picture.

*** 5 STARS ******

Especially for the sexy and sweet as sin,Australian...Chance

Well,Penelope Ward is a new Author to me but I've read books by Vi Keeland before so I thought this would be good..and it certainly was...and Chance is one of my new, favourite Male characters...God the man is gorgeous!!!

Aubrey is on her way to California to start a new chapter in her life when she meets Chance at a rest stop.Circumstances throw them together and they end up sharing the drive to California together.
They only have a short time together but in that time the chemistry between them is undeniable.Along the way they kind of adopt a goat....yes,a goat..I know it sounds crazy but trust me it totally works and is so funny and sweet ( you'd have to read it,to really appreciate it !!)
Aubrey can feel herself falling for Chance but can tell he's holding back...
On their last few days they decide to visit Vegas.

"You want to sin with me princess?"
Did I ever

So up until this point there's been a lot of sexual innuendos going on and a lot of flirting but on the last night the dynamics of their relationship changes....
Right so,I'm not going to give anything else away...

The first half is from Aubreys pov and then in the second it switches to Chance..
Things happen that you weren't expecting but I loved every word of this book!!
And did I mention that Chance is delectable???...the Australian accent always does it for me and you can just imagine this man's sexy drawl..and the way he says her name...AH-BREE..grrrrr

So,he's definitely a Cocky Bastard but the kind you'd want to do bad things to you...

I just loved this book...it's,sexy,sweet with great characters and (IMO) really well written...it's the kind of book that just wraps you up and won't let go until you've finished it!!!

A single minute can change an entire life

Highly recommended.........

Picking Up A Hitchhiker Never Looked So Good!

This book was a little slow going for me at first, but once it got going, I couldn't put it down. 'Cocky Bastard' was funny and entertaining. I mean, where else am I going to find a book about a road trip with a blind, fainting goat!?! It was those quirky little things that made this book for me.

In a nutshell, Aubrey picks up a hot Aussie, Chance, when she is driving cross-country to California after ditching her cheating ex. Chance fixes her car in exchange for a ride. She begrudgingly agrees. There is an instant physical attraction and soon, the two are falling in love.

By the time they make it to the final stretch of their road trip, they're both head over heels and neither wants to face the inevitable end of their time together. They make the most of their last day together, having a pretend wedding, followed by a very hot pretend honeymoon night.

After their steamy night together, Aubrey is certain that she is completely in love with Chance. She's also certain that he left her without even saying goodbye when she wakes up the next morning. She is devastated.

Two years later, after Aubrey's finally got her life back on track, Chance makes a reappearance in her life. To say she's angry and distrustful is putting it mildly. She still loves him, but she's not ready to admit that to herself, and certainly not to him.

After a lot of wooing, groveling and romantic gestures, things finally work out the way I wanted. There is nothing worse than a heroine that lacks a spine and simply rolls over when the Hero screws up badly and just says he's "sorry". So, while I did think that the punishment phase dragged on a bit, I appreciated that she didn't just let him off the hook easy after all that heartache.

I really enjoyed this story and the characters. Honestly though, Esmerelda Snowflake, aka Pixy, was my favorite. I loved that damn goat! I'm curious about the house training details, but I guess it could happen!

Overall, a great love story with bits of humor throughout. The ending is predictable, but that didn't make it any less enjoyable for me. The details were original and very entertaining. Picking up a hitchhiker never looked so good!

i dont think ive had this much fun reading these authors books. ever. and this was an old release.

the appeal

❥ a momentous and eventful road trip,

“You’re not suggesting…”
“Yes. Yes, I am. If I change your tire, you let me ride with you.”
“Ride with me?”
“Ride me, yes.”
“What did you just say?”
“You’re hearing things.”

❥ a cocky, absolutely hilarious H with sexy Australian accent, who may or may not look like...

❥ he rides bikes/motorcycles omg,

❥ a heroine who’s trying for a new beginning after being cheated on by her ex,

“Sometimes, it takes losing everything to make you realize what you really need.”

❥ an adorable baby goat with an affliction that causes him to faint whenever hes nervous lol,

❥ funny & naughty banter,

“Want my cookie? I’m not going to eat it.”
“Sure. I’ll eat you.”
“What did you just say?”
“I said I’d eat yours.”

❥ some smexy time,

“Attraction is way too tame for what happens when I look at you. I want to fucking conquer you. Watch your beautiful face as I sink deep inside of you so hard it borders on pain. I want to bury myself so far that you won’t be able to walk for days. The only thing that could possibly be more beautiful than your face when you smile at me, is your face with me inside of you.”

❥ the book being broken down into TWO parts,

==> part I (the h POV) is about the road trip where the MCs fall in love + part II (the H POV) is about the reason the H ghosted the h and him trying to win her back

❥ the h trying to move on by attending therapy, going on dates, and being in a relationship with other people,

“I know. You don’t trust me anymore. You have no reason to right now. I have to earn that back.”

❥ the H staying celibate for the two years they were apart,

hes never over the h. though i wondered, if it wasnt bcs of his “situation” that made it impossible for him to look for random hook-ups, would he really choose to stay celibate??

❥ the grovelling,

“I love you, Aubrey. Can’t you see that? I am head over heels in fucking love with you. I love you more than anything in this entire world. When I look into your eyes, I don’t just see you, I see my children. Hell, I see an entire farm of children and deaf, dumb and blind goats. I see my entire future. Without you, I see nothing. Nothing.”

the thing that looked like a plot hole to me was the fact that the H was sort of a famous person, and i was wondering why the h didnt google him to find out what happened. it was a pretty big deal, and i imagined it wouldve come up on the news. she’d googled him once before, why not again?? well, i guess when youre broken hearted, you dont think too far ahead.

my only negative was probably the h being confused and indecisive about forgiving the H and getting back with him in part II. i guess it was understandable seeing as at that moment she was in a relationship with another guy herself whom she cared about. i just thought she couldve handled it better. but who knows, ive never loved two guys at the same time.

I expected a lot from this book, considering its high rating, but sadly, it didn’t quite live up to the hype.

**Spoiler alert!

I excitedly went into this book and it had me hooked from the first page. Although Chance isn’t my type of hero (He was such a tease. I’m not a fan of playful, pushy, and cocky guys.), I really did enjoy the first half. But alas, the second half was a catastrophe for me and I didn’t enjoy it at all. Honestly, I couldn’t stand Aubrey. She was selfish and wishy-washy. She didn’t want to break up with her boyfriend, Richard, but at the same time, didn’t want to let Chance go either. It seemed like she kept giving him hope that she would let him back into her life again. It was freaking unfair to both guys. This was so damn frustrating! Aubrey, listen to me… It’s impossible to eat your cake and have it too, woman!

She said she didn’t want to cheat on her boyfriend, but as far as I can see, she’d already done that, not physically but emotionally. In my opinion, emotional infidelity is far worse than physical affair. I hated that she wasn’t honest with Richard and kept him in the dark about Chance. It doesn’t matter whether there was sex involved or not, I still call it cheating!

There was one scene in this book that almost made my head explode. When Richard knocked on her door unexpectedly, she chased Chance away, told him to slip out the backdoor. Hell, I saw red! I hated how she treated him. So damn unacceptable! It got me pissed off to the whole new level! At that moment, I didn't even want to continue reading it anymore.

Well, after calming myself down, I picked it up again and kept reading… And see what I found near the end of the story! When Aubrey eventually made up her mind that she wanted to be with Chance, she had a nerve asking him if he was seeing someone. Ha! I have no words… *Shakes head in disbelief*

However, I really loved Pixy, the blind baby goat. (Actually, I like the name ‘Esmerelda Snowflake’ better than ‘Pixy’.) He apparently was the best thing that ever happened in this book. Such a cute little thing!

So, to sum up my whole rant—the first half got 5 stars from me without a doubt, but for the second half, 1 star was more than it deserved. Due to my generosity, I ended up giving this one 3 stars.

Sorry for my long rant…

Aubrey is looking for a fresh start, and meeting Chance, a sexy, arrogant, Australian is not part of her plan. But an impromptu road trip with the cocky bastard, has her questioning her opinion of her companion. Aubrey starts to warm up to Chance, but he constantly seems to be putting on the breaks, until one night changes everything.

"Attraction is way too tame for what happens when I look at you. I want to fucking conquer you."

Aubrey knew they would be going their separate ways, she thought she was prepared, but she shocked by the way their road trip ends. And the resulting hurt isn't going to be easy to heal, poor Chance has his work cut out for him.

I really enjoyed this one, a nice mixture of humor, steam and romance. Chance and pixy were simply wonderful, who knew a goat would steal my heart. My only issue was Aubrey, that woman sure did make my boy suffer. Overall, this was an enjoyable read for me.

Aubrey Bloom uprooted her life and moved cross country for a fresh start. In the middle of the long road trip to California she took a break at a rest stop, only to continue the journey with one extra passenger.

Chance Bateman a cocky Aussie guy was also heading to the same destination when his bike broke down. He made a deal with Aubrey so he could hitch a ride. What started as a simple ride quickly turned into something else as they took detours in the trip and in life.

I saw this book a lot on my GR feed when it first came out and it got me intrigued. I’ve read a book by Penelope Ward, but not Vi Keeland, so I thought this might be a good way to break into a new to me author. I’m glad I ended up enjoying this one.

I stocked up on typical stalker snacks. Fun dip, Sour Patch Kids, popcorn and, of course, Pixy Stix. The cashier looked at me like I might be luring kids into the back of my van at the corner of the local elementary school.

Chance was an easy to love character. Besides being physically hot with a juicy biteable ass, he also spoke with Australian accent. And yes, I did read all his dialogue in my head with an Aussie accent haha! He’s also very funny with his sexual innuendos.

Aubrey was the more uptight one, but she could keep up with him. She had a certain level of vulnerability that I like

“When I say scared the shit out of him…I now mean literally. Bugger took a dump all over your backseat.”

One of my favorite characters in this book is definitely the goat. Yes, one of the reasons I chose to read this book is because of the damn goat haha!

The story was divided into two parts. The first part was light and hilarious, so I didn’t expect the second part to have a different tone. The book has a split personality because the second parts was more serious and even a little angsty (with bits of comedy sprinkled in between). But I don’t have problem with that and I actually like it that way because you get to see a different side of the characters.

Cocky Bastard is an entertaining and amusing story about taking chances and fighting for what you want. It’s a good choice if you’re looking for something light, but also fulfilling.

Note:
I need to try some cock sauce haha!

This duo is killing me!! And this book is helping them!!

I know I'll repeat myself but i can't help it. Penelope in every combination is amazing, solo or with Vi.. I love her and her books will always the first in my TBR list.
Cocky bastard was brilliant and the funniest in the series from my point of view.

The plot is insanely simple but Penelope and Vi made it sexy and charming for us readers.
Aubrey picks up an Aussie, Chance, when she is driving across the country to California after splitting up with the boyfriend who cheated on her. Her car breaks down and Chance helps her fix it, in exchange for a ride. They click almost immediately and soon fall in love. Aubrey is extremely independent, but a little unsure of herself. After the cheating aspect she is reluctant to start a new relationship, but with Chance she considers giving it a shot. Chance is funny as hell, smart and good looking, a former athlete who now poses for calendars for a living.

Their trip to California transforms into a live changing experience and after that they will never be the same again. Chance shows Aubrey how to live and feel again, giving yourself up to temptation and not regretting it for a second. Their relationship was based on instant chemistry and there also was a slow burn, because visibly, something was keeping Chance guarded in showing his attraction to Aubrey.

The book is divided into the 2 parts I'm so afraid of in Penelope's books. After the first part where they fall in love, we have the second part that scares me to death. The aftermath..But this one please discover on your own.
I loved the chemistry between the characters. OMG it was insane and I wanted to literally go in the book and hook them up already! They were so good for each other and took them so long to realize it. After discovering what kept Chance in giving Aubrey his heart, I was devastated but hoped that their destiny will change and have the happy ending they deserve. In the second part we get to see another Chance, strong and determined to get his love back. You will swoon on his attempts and love him even more.

The originality of the story was a bonus for me, but mostly the intensity of it and the humorous passages made the delight of this book!! A wonderful story of second chances and instant chemistry.

4 goats to go with it!!

Ladies, prepare to fall in love with this Aussie smokin' HOT Cocky Bastard because Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland have written an amazing story! This book is about two strangers (Chance and Aubrey) falling in love and their journey to happily ever after.

I have read Vi Keeland's books before (and loved all of them) but not Penelope Ward's and let me tell you: these two together have written a beautiful love story. Cocky Bastard will make you laugh from the beggining till the end, Chance a.k.a C.B or Cocky is the funniest (and hottest!) guy ever! Just on my 4% of the book, I was literally cracking-up with the smart dialogue between the two main characters.

Obviously, the sexual tension between CB and Aubrey is of-the-chards amazing and well.. the sex scenes are smechin' HOT. Chace... I love your dirty dirty mouth! He is so sexy ladies and so sweet and funny at the same time! <33

"I love you, Aubrey. Nothing."

My rating is 5 STARS, of course! I think this is one of my favourite books this year because it has a little bit of everything that I like: love, angst, sexy times, a good argument and good characters. So, I just want to say, I highly recommend this book!

I was saving this for a rainy day

I swallowed and seemed to lose my ability to speak as I took in the Adonis standing before me. I wanted to smack that cocky smile right off his face, though—his gorgeous, chiseled, scruffy face, framed by a thick head of copper-brown hair. F@ck me. This man was insanely hot, not someone I expected to come across out here.

Yeah, I think this book has been a good choice.

Nice, easygoing story.
Nice book cover (Cover model: Nick Ayler)

4.5 - 5 ★'s

Don't you just love when a book turns out to be nothing like you thought it would be...and instead, it's so much better? That's exactly what this book was for me. I was expecting something light, funny and sexy and while, yes, it IS all that...it's so much more.

Aubrey is moving across country and decides to road trip it. On a pit stop, she meets Chance who is very hot and very cocky but they don't get off to a great start. One broken down motorcycle and one flat tire later, they come to an agreement to road trip together and that's where all the fun starts!

Let me just tell you...Chance is all that and then some. Sexy, sweet, romantic, cocky, former soccer player and Australian...need I say more? His sexual innuendos were hilarious...I just couldn't get enough!

Aubrey (AH-BREE <- said with that sexy Australian accent) doesn't know what to make of Chance but at the same time, she wants everything he has to offer. Surprisingly, since she's just out of a bad relationship where she caught her boyfriend cheating on her but she just can't resist Chance.

description

The book gets unbelievably better when they rescue a goat...yes, you heard me right, a goat. And not any run of the mill goat but a fainting goat who is in love with Chance...of course!

And don't even get me started on their stop in Las Vegas. ~sigh~ Chance is just so much fun but it's his romantic side that had me captivated.

Okay...enough gushing, now for the problem. The first half on the book is told in Aubrey's POV and it was great. Chance is a strong enough character and says what he thinks that I didn't miss his POV. However, the second part is told from Chance's POV and there's a reason for it (along with a two year time jump). BUT...not having Aubrey's POV left Chance a little too "grovely" (not exactly a word but it fits!) and Aubrey a lot too bitchy. (It made me wonder if one author did the first half and the other did the second half.)

BUT...I liked that Chance was "grovely". It takes a lot for a big ol' Alpha to do everything he can to get his woman back and he certainly did that.

Okay, so I lied...there is one other problem, I didn't want the story to end! Ugh...it was sooo good and the epilogue was amazing. I will miss Pixy!

★★★ 3 Stars ★★★

Aubrey is on her way to California, having recently found herself single she wants a fresh start in a new home. This is where she meets a Cocky Bastard, who goes by the name of Chance.

Chance is an fun loving Aussie who immediately gets Aubrey's back up with his sense of humour and when they end up on a road trip together they have a lot of banter and comedic moments. Chance is hesitant to get to close to Aubrey and there is a very good reason for this, but his lack of enthusiasm to move things forward causes a black cloud to follow them.

This was a fun and sexy read, it made me laugh and I really did enjoy reading it. However there were a few 'issues' I had with the way the story went in the second half, and I hate saying it, I really do, but it just didn't sit right with me, hence I had to knock it down from a 4 which was my rating for the first half of the book.

My issues

Overall, it was a great read, I enjoyed it and I am sure a lot of people will love this book. Unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the mark for me.

P.S I loved the goat - it was probably my second favourite character!

This is a standalone, told in dual POV. First half is told in Aubrey's POV and the second half in Chase's.

ARC gratefully received from the author in exchange for an honest review

You can’t help but love this Cocky Aussie.

I liked the Cocky Bastard from the very beginning. Then, I loved the Cocky Bastard the more I got to know him. When the Cocky Bastard ripped my heart out, I couldn’t really hate him. I was frustrated with the Cocky Bastard for a little while, but I knew deep down there HAD to be a good reason for him leaving. I got the full story, and while I wished the Cocky Bastard had trusted me with the truth, I couldn’t help but love him more. Aussies sure are lovable and Cocky. ;)

The Cocky Bastard is Chance. He is an American with an Aussie accent who is extremely good looking with a sensational body. Chance meets Aubrey at a pit stop when the two of them are on their own journeys of discovery. Aubrey is traveling across the country to a new job and to get away from an ex who cheated on her. Chance we don’t know much about, but we do know that he is heading in the same direction as Aubrey. Unfortunately, Chance’s motorbike won’t get him the distance and so he hits Aubrey up to travel together. At first, they get off on the wrong foot, but soon they get to know each other more and really connect. Chance keeps pushing Aubrey away, even though he has made it quite clear that he is extremely attracted to her. Aubrey really likes Chance and wants him to take a risk on her. Chance knows that it would cause her heartbreak…and it does.

This story is told in two segments. The first is told through Aubrey’s eyes and the second through Chance’s. The first half is fun, adventurous and full of sexual tension. The second half is emotional, heart-breaking and frustrating. The whole story is romantic in lots of different ways but it’s a bit one-sided. Chance wants Aubrey and he’ll do anything to prove that he’s worth taking a chance on.

I’m probably not making a lot of sense with this review, but I’m struggling with how to describe it without giving it all away. Let's just say that while it might seem that Chance is doing all the work, he kind of has to. At first, it’s because Aubrey is hesitant to trust him, then when she finally does, Chance messes up BIG TIME!! So in the second half, he works his butt off to prove himself worthy of her love and to make up for causing her heart to break.

I really enjoyed Cocky Bastard but it was ALL because of Chance. I didn’t mind Aubrey, but Chance was just so lovable and sweet. I forgave Chance in two seconds when I found out why he’d hurt Aubrey and I was cranky that Aubrey took longer than two seconds to forgive him. There is a wee bit of a love-triangle in the second half which frustrated me a little but not enough to take away too much from the story. I will definitely be reading more from this duo in the future.

I received a complimentary copy of Cocky Bastard via the authors for an honest review.

Road trip read.

Wow! What a disappointment. Clearly I'm in the minority and who am I?

But let's just be honest. The book should be titled Whimpy Pussy. He was not cocky nor a bastard.

Where this book fell short for me is there was zero plot. And where sex is a natural filler, that was lacking too. And we spent way too much time in his head where he lamented on a woman he loved so deeply after knowing her for 8 days. Then they spent a considerable amount of time apart. While I get his situation may lead him to irrationally focus on this last encounter, his starkerish behavior seemed over the top. Sorry, but I'm not a fan of insta love. And with barely any conversations between the two, I found their connection unbelievable.

The best part of the book was his twin Harry. If you've read, you'll get what I mean.

Obviously, I'm not the leading authority of this book. So don't not read because of me. If the masses are right, you will enjoy this one. This is my first book by these authors and may be my last. Who knows?

4.5 COCKY PRINCESS STARS!

This was really fun and completely not what I was expecting. While there was a good girl and a seemingly bad guy, but it was much more than the norm. What this read has is a man and woman meeting in the middle of nowhere, futures unknown, but nonetheless a life changing journey of fun, flirting, and just letting go!

 photo PhotoGrid_1442762849997_zpsivugsm1j.jpg

After her fair share or heartbreak, Aubrey takes off for California. She has one of those OMG moments of "look at that hottie" while on her travels. Little did she know that a filter-less Aussie, Chase, would make her trip so much more. What's better than seeing a walking wet dream of a motorcycle riding man? How bout him landing in your passenger seat for the trip! If only he wasn't so damn brass!

Prepare for the sweet, the oh so sexy and the completely lovable Chance to get the panties in a twist. He is quite the charmer with his flirty innuendo. He is just what Aubrey needs to learn to let go and live a little as he seems to be all about living in the moment...or is he? Is chance holding back? Perhaps he really just needed a friend on the road? Well, there is always VEGAS, right?

 photo PhotoGrid_1442763122020_zpst19edb91.jpg

The peak of the story, the passion, the craziness, then the nothing. This read will fast forward you to a new time and into two lives that met crossed at one time and then faded away. NOPE! Over 2 years and neither can forget their journey. While I was head over heals in love with this read, here in lies my missing 1/2 star. Aubrey seems to have moved on and could be happy. Chance has lost his "cocky" and he is more stalker than anything! Too much time and space, push and pull, I wont leave/I will give you space...BLAH! Just decide already, Chance you are kinda looking pathetic and Aubrey...just DONT!

OK, so that was a minor rant, and not enough to overshadow the overall connection and the fun road trip to forever!

5 "I want to be Chance's Princess.NOW!" stars

“My cookie? I’m not going to eat it.”
“Sure. I’ll eat you.”
“What did you just say?”
“I said I’d eat yours.”

Chance, babe...

I AM SO INLOVE WITH THIS COCKY BASTARDO and that's the reasons why:
I loved how funny, cocky, adorable, sweet, HONEST, confident, FILTHY MOUTHED and honorable he was! I loved how he NEVER gave up on AH-BREE ! How relentless he was when he wanted something! I didn't thought that his stalking skils were too much! For me it was sweet and a bit funny! The things we do when we are inlove...
He wanted her, loved her and he GOT her ! He fought for Aubrey, for his sister and for his happiness!

And his PHENOMENAL ASS! JEEZ, NOT ONLY AUBREY WANTED TO BITE IT!

"Ride with me?"
"Ride me, yes."
"What did you say?"
"You're hearing things."

Their encounter was the best thing that could happen to them and their immediate spark was something pure and beautiful ! It was FATE ! Their sexual tension was unbearable. The slow burn turned in FIRE really fast!

Chance helped Aubrey to find herself again, to feel happy, to feel free ..
He was misterious but at the same time like an open book! He wanted to be good for her, to deserve her!

( HE DESERVED HER INDEED, BUT OH-KAAAAAAAY! GO BACK TO THE STORY )

And Princess Aubrey, you made me cry and I loved it!

I loved Aburey, because she was strong-minded, funny, sexy and bold ! Yes, I wanted to shake her a little bit because I wanted to open her eyes, but I understand that it was hard for her. On their trip they become so close with each other, sharing their dreams and fears and when things ended she was left heartbroken and alone . My heart broke for her because she trusted him , but not knowing the thrut really did a number on her! I really wanted to hug her and tell her she will be okay!

The FIRST part was the funny and sexy part! Their banters were incredible and amusing! Their first steamy scenes was filthy and HOT !!!

The SECOND part, which was unexpected was more for forgivness, love, feelings, trust and new beginning!
Aubrey was finally moved on with her life but her heart still ached for Chance and when he showed up all over again, there were no competition with others anymore! He was IT for her, her best friend , the man who broke her heart and the only man you could fix it!
Their love was real and it made my heart burst from happiness for them!

I JUST LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM! So much love, angst, humour and the best kind of friendship!AND.. I WANT A MAN LIKE CHANCE.. HE WAS P-E-R-F-E-C-T!

Let's not forget about Snowflake Esmeralda Pixy and etc. !!!!!

(You will find out when you read this booook !!!)

I knew that these authors would bring a wonderful story and I wasn't wrong! It has everything you need from a book, from a hero and heroine!
Read this book, laugh with this book and loveee this book!

I’m struggling on how to rate this. It would be 3.5 stars but I’ll go down because it wasn’t that epic.

I honestly though I was going to dnf this after reading the h was wetting her underwear after seeing the H at 1%. Nothing good comes from that ever, and the relationship afterwards, although funny at some scenes, was developing so fast that I didn’t know where it headed. But I’m glad I made it through and kept going because the second half of the book was good, and we read it from H’s point of view, which was refreshing to be honest.

Things that annoyed me:

- The fast pace of the first third of the book.
- Way too much groveling, at a certain point I was eye rolling and muttering “for f**ks sake” just make up your damn mind
- Her I cannot control my attraction and my lady bits are wet (again for the thousandth time?)

I liked the story, and the turn it took. I didn’t see it coming and was refreshing. I liked the road trip because I’m a fan of the trope, I loved the dialogues and their banter, they were very funny sometimes, and I liked CB (Cocky Bastard) 😍

3 What A Road Trip Stars!
I was gunning for 4 stars until the last 25% of the book. The first part of the book is told in Aubrey's POV and the second part (two years later) is told in Chance's POV.

Aubrey and Chance are both headed to California when they meet inside a rest stop. When they are leaving Chance's bike won't start and Aubrey has a flat. Chance offers to fix her tire for a ride. This begins their road trip full of all kinds of excitement. Chance is super duper funny! He had me cracking up all throughout the book. His pixi stix obsessions and his cock sauce. Haha! On their trip Aubrey thinks she hit a goat. After they get it checked out and it's ok they sort of adopt it. It was funny how when it got scared it fainted. When it got the shits they put a diaper on it. LOL! The names Aubrey was coming up with for it had me rolling.

Chance finally convinces Aubrey to make a pit stop in Las Vegas for a few days. You could tell something was up with Chance. He wanted Aubrey but refused to make a move. But that sure the hell didn't stop him from talking dirty. lol Of course one night Aubrey turns up the heat and Chance and his cock had no choice but to cave. The next morning when Aubrey wakes up Chance and his belongings are gone. She's broken hearted and really a mess.

Part two is two years later and Chance has decided he wants Aubrey back in his life. So this is where I kind of started not liking Aubrey. I could totally understand why she was pissed at Chance. But really after he explained things I felt he did what was right. Hell...they only knew each other for a week.

I loved how Chance was trying to earn back her trust. All the stuff he was doing for her around her house. How he was buying her coffee and breakfast every morning. This went on for weeks and weeks and the whole time Aubrey had a boyfriend. I felt she was just stringing Chance a long. Either you want him or you don't. It was very clear she did and she should of told Richard and sent him on his way.

XXXXXXXXSPOILER BELOWXXXXXXX

So anyway. Loved part one and a bit disappointed with part two. I thought this was a cute and funny read. I laughed many times. My panties defiantly didn't melt off like I thought they were going to. I mean he was the Cocky Bastard. Haha!

This is a hilarious story with very witty funny banter and moments that pull at your heart strings.
the Vi-Pene combo is volcanic, they write amaze balls books together.

4 stars!

 photo FADD09F5-E657-4FF4-8FFA-B02B48A2142F_zps5kvlet5e.jpg

I listened to the audio version of Cocky Bastard and really enjoyed it! This was a popular book last year that I never got to, but I’m so glad I read it. In a blog chat, my two blogging partners were raving about Stuck Up Suit, a new release by these two authors. I mentioned I’d never read a Vi Keeland book and both said I had to change that asap so I picked this one up and started to listen. Thanks, Reanell and Bella for recommending! I have the audio of Stuck Up Suit loaded on my audible and will get to it soon :)
“What’s C.B. stand for anyway?”
“Those are my initials.”
“Let me guess…Cocky Bastard?”

I love the way Chance and Aubrey meet. It’s like it’s meant to be. Even though it probably isn’t the safest thing to do, Aubrey and Chance, virtual strangers, go on a road trip to California together. The first half of the book was so much fun. Chance, Aubrey, the goat- all on the open road together. You can feel the tension between them. It’s a laugh out loud, sexy and sweet good time!

 photo 9E5929A9-4D04-4A7C-B765-24EA9FF3AA7F_zpsqgalnbfu.jpg

I loved the direction this book was taking. But I was thrown for a loop in the second half! The second half is 2 years after the first and is completely from Chance’s pov. I went from really liking Chance to straight up adoring him! My only problem with the second half was a small issue I had with Aubrey… but Chance was perfect! His lawn work, Starbucks, hanging with Pixie. It was all great!

If you’re looking for a book with a hero that will make you swoon, a laugh out loud story with a lot of heart, that’s fun, sexy and sweet- pick up Cocky Bastard! I highly recommend the audio!

🏍🚗🐐🥐🥤🧁💐🍀🏈

📚”Bırak hayvanı gitsin.” Chance arkasında kalan ağaçlık alanı işaret etti. “Geldiği yere dönsün. İyi durumda.”
“İyi falan değil.”
“Bana iyi görünüyor.”
“Sanırım beyin travması geçiriyor.”
“O iyi. İzle.” Ellerini çırpıp köpek çağırır gibi öpücük sesleri çıkarmaya başladı. “Gel ahbap.

Kendi kendime aşktan deliriyorum şu an.

Aubrey’i başından sonuna çok sevdim.

Chance’in keçiyle diyalogları ayrı bir renk katmıştı.

4 On the Road Stars

I love it when two authors get together. It’s like getting the best of both worlds. I was looking for a fun read with a sexy Hero and I got it!

Cocky Bastard is a standalone is a part of the Cocky Bastard series. The book starts out super adorable and I love road trip books. Chance is an Aussie and a part of me wants this book to be on audio so I can hear his voice **dreamy eyes**. At a rest stop, Chance meets Aubrey.

No, there’s no insta-love, the opposite, pure insta-hate and I loved it. Chance and Aubrey, both have one common goal, to get to California. When Chance’s motorcycle breaks down, Aubrey gets roped into driving him with her!

Don’t you love the plot?! The first half of the book is Chance and Aubrey getting to know each other as they take on an adventure on the road. The chemistry is mega there and I love the tension between the two characters.

Chance is not interested in a relationship and I love how mean but cute he is towards Aubrey. He doesn’t want to give her mixed signals. Chance is my type of guy. He’s good looking and has a great personality and the kind of mean-ish attitude works perfect for me. Aubrey likes Chance but she is self-conscience because she doesn’t look like the models he is use to dating. I love how Aubrey is adventurous and open minded. She wants to be with Chance but she is going to throw herself at him.

The second part of the book shifts and I REALLY liked this. I felt like it changed up the pace of the read and it was just refreshing and addictive to read. I couldn’t put it down. The book is pretty lengthy so you get plenty of meat. I would also say the steam is pretty mild, but the tension makes up for it.

Overall, a good read on a rainy day by two fabulous authors.

What a wild and crazy ride this book was! Once I picked it up, I was unable to stop reading till I reached "The End".

We meet Aubrey who is on a road trip from Chicago to California to start a new life, she never expected to meet C.B. aka Chance on her trip across the country. One flat tire, and one broken bobble head changes Aubrey's trip dramatically.

I loved the eight days that Aubrey and Chance were together during their road trip. You could instantly tell there was a spark between Aubrey and Chance and I wanted nothing more than for these two to end up together. Chance is laid back, hilarious and pushes Aubrey outside of her comfort zone. Aubrey is stand offish at first, and guarded, but as she spends more time with Chance her fun side starts to peak out.

During the road trip Chance and Aubrey definitely create a bond, and I loved their back and forth banter, their sexual innuendo's and everything else. I was laughing out loud multiple times during this book, and then throw in a fainting goat, and this road trip was one to go down in history. I knew that Chance was hiding something with how secretive he would get on his calls, but I wasn't expecting what it was he was hiding. I was kind of in shock when it came out.

I really loved how this book was told in two parts, part one was Aubrey's point of view and dealing with the road trip, and the second part was told in Chance's point of view dealing with things after the road trip. The after the road trip section was amazing in my opinion. I loved getting inside of Chance's head and my heart hurt for him. He really is a good person and he knows he has made some mistakes. Seeing him trying to fight for what he wants was one amazing and emotional journey and made me fall in love with him all over again.

Chance and Aubrey belong together, but getting them to realize it at the same time is a hard thing to master. I wanted them together from the beginning, but I don't think that this story would have been as amazing if we didn't get all the bumps in the road that these two went through.

So much happens in this book that I just can't write about because it will give so much away, but trust me... this book is a definite must read! I absolutely adored this book and if I could I would give it 10 stars! I fell in love with this story and with the characters and even the goat! I laughed, I cried, and I was all over the place with my emotions. This book is amazing! I highly recommend this one to everyone!!

Keen to see what these two favourite authors of mine are going to bring us..

The first interaction between these two didn't go down so well..

I wanted to smack that cocky smile right off his face, though—his gorgeous, chiseled, scruffy face, framed by a thick head of copper-brown hair. Fuck me. This man was insanely hot..

God, his accent was sexy.

The title for this book is appropriately titled COCKY BASTARD because he is one cocky Australian bastard!! Who needs the gym because my stomach muscles are getting a workout!!

You’re not my type.” “And what exactly is your type?” “I typically go for women who don’t have the personality of a door knob.”

OMG, I want to hit him lol

This book was just the best I laughed, I sighed and I fell in love, this cocky bastard in this book will melt all your hearts with his cocky one liners, the Australian twang and the heroine who had to put up with him on this road trip..I definitely loved how these two authors teamed up and brought this unique funny az hell book..

Cray Cray loved this book!!
