You simply can't go wrong with Tim Miller!
What a fun and entertaining series this was.
All 4 books were in this set and I love it when writers make their multiples available this way and it also makes it easier to binge read them.
PLUS a bonus chapter and alternate ending, that's like scoring the Blu Ray special edition of the book world!

These books center on a gorgeous gal named April (yet another strong female character by Miller), in school.
She enjoys the horror genre and aspires to finish her own horror novel one day.
After reading a new download from an unknown author on a book that sounded pretty scary, she along with several other people feels compelled to leave negative feedback for that crapbook by that hack writer.

That one submitted paragraph is the catalyst that propels all her troubles and journeys:
We're talking inbred deranged redneck hillbillys', backward and toothless hick towns with their own local strip club, a rather unique and sexually charged superhuman superpower worthy of a psychotic narcissistic feminists wildest dreams, horny and hard to kill sadistic clowns who love parlor tricks and play for your peeps, funhouse games where there are no teddy bears to win but you might birth a bundle of lunacy for participating, a covert and top secret organization that knows everything and as long as they have some control...it's allll good...
And there's so much more but that's a start!! Hahahaha

I've read a few negative reviews on these books individually and some say things like ~ absurd, campy, laughable, unrealistic,....well, YEEEAAA, that's kind of the point.
Nothing but outrageously gory and explicit fun. In my opinion the author accomplished exactly what he set out to do...ENTERTAIN through the most hilarious and heinous ways possible but also through fabulous writing technique and style.
I never had a problem getting into any of the above mentioned predicaments with our characters.

I've read a few things by Mr. Miller and his writing is always impeccable no matter what level of absurdity he delivers. Lol
He has a vast library covering all sorts of topics and I WILL, in time, read everything he has to offer.

* Side note ~ I've seen Mr Miller all over FB town and he genuinely seems like the nicest and friendliest guy.
Always commenting and interacting with his fans, he now does live podcasts Q & A's (I think that's what they're called lol), numerous horror conventions, he's president of GutWrench Productions, always reading other writers works while still churning out his own masterpieces at lightening speed, I think he even has a family that he probably spends a little time with too. Lol
I'm not sure how he scores more hours in his day than the rest of us, I have trouble just making dinner for the kids every night. hahaha
And I really hope I didn't tarnish his rep by calling him a 'nice guy', it IS those nice guys you gotta worry about afterall....

I do think it's quite definite he has a basement full of scantily clad slaves doing his bidding.
I mean...obviously.. Lol

Happytown ... so Tim Miler. This whole gruesome collection - April Almighty Series - should be read together. If you're a fan of Miller - you already know - it's gonna get bloody. It might turn your stomach, but you'll love every heave - I mean page.

I'm not sure what I expected from this series but happy to say "I was pleasantly surprised" April has this power that first surfaces after a terrifying kidnapping by some inbred hillbillies and then her life totally changes. Next to feel her wrath are killer clowns and the townspeople who sent her and her friends to be slaughtered but the real action picks up when she sets her sights on The Jericho Organization. This bloody, gory and totally screwed up tale of mayhem is not for the faint of heart or people with weak stomachs as it is extreme horror at it's best. A must read for fans of the extreme horror genre.

The first book in the series is the standout book for me, when you read it you are just blown away by the original and wacky concept. April is a seriously cool and tough lady. I'm kind of disappointed the following books are not as strong, and you do get desensitised to the violence just because of the sheer quantity of it. There are a seriously large number of deaths captured in these pages; we are talking comic book numbers - whereas the first book is much more focused and tightly written - we have no idea what is going to happen to April, and the odds are seriously stacked against her.

Almighty horror at its best

I have to start this by saying I lived this series. I loved it so much I finished in 24 hours (not at once) I LOVED it it was gory had violence likable characters and was just insane if I could give more than five stars I would not for the faint of heart or squeamish (which I am neither )I felt nauseous a few times that is awesome I highly recommend for all fans of modern horror
