Spider-Man becomes the hunted as Kraven tries to take him down. A young hero, still adjusting to the great power he has gained, must take on the deadliest hunter in the world. In my mind this is the 'break' issue where Spidey really starts to utilize his powers to their full extent. First mention of Mary Jane in ASM - kind of becoming a 'minor' key issue! So here is my fan boy rant: WOULD LOVE TO SEE A KRAVEN vs. WOLVERINE/PUNISHER STORY ONE DAY!

I like Kraven, he is cool but my favorite part is that he teams up with the chameleon and spider-man gets confused but he still wins.

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #11-16, ANNUAL #1 (The Sinister Six)
*Note: A nifty READING ORDER has been provided at the end of this review
Here, Spider-Man is really allowed to come into his own as a character and achieve more of an arc than was previously possible, all for the betterment of the story.
Peter's intellect is effectively explored in greater detail, as the villains' powers force him to find creative solutions to the obstacles they present. Each story introduces him caught off guard by the new set of powers, forcing him to use his knowledge and creativity, thus setting up a rematch that shows his growth since the beginning of the issue. This newly utilized characteristic really makes Spider-Man a unique superhero and have more of an arc in each issue than before.
This growth doesn't come without consequence, as Stan also uses Peter's intellect to destroy his relationship with Betty Page (as Liz Allen becomes attracted to this very intellect). With Betty suspecting cheating, it creates a tragic irony in his strength costing him the people he loves. Thus Lee effectively expands this loose end from the previous arc, as it builds off the reveal of Betty's big secret she was keeping from Peter... which I won't dare spoil here.
Stan Lee brilliantly ties both of these arcs together, in the annual issue. Each new villain returns in this issue, along with Doctor Octopus from the first in this arc, to found the Sinister Six!
It not only is one of the best made Spider-Man issues in history, it also allows the arc to come full-circle: With the first issue re-introducing Doctor Ock, through him kidnapping Betty Page, and the Annual issue featuring Doctor Ock, once again kidnapping Betty Page, it allows the entire arc to return where it began! Thus, the formula set up in these issues (failure followed by growth) is utilized across the entire arc!

Amazing Spider-Man #15 is a classic and it's a case were one villain, The Chameleon, introduces another, Kraven, that goes on to be much more infamous and popular in Spidey's rogue gallery.
Kraven doesn't come across as skilled or fearsome as he is later depicted in the pages of Amazing, his MO here to get high on a "secret potion" and also use drugs to weaken his foes. Guess that NYC really have loose customs checks back in the 1960's. Kraven goes up against Spider-Man after studying his fighting style, however Spidey eventually comes through and beats both villains. The closing page shows both villains being deported! I am sure that will be the last we see of them.
Ditko's art really sings in this one, lots of unique angles of buildings and great action shots.

Kraven The Hunter rocks some of the best fashion choices I have seen in any comic ever. And that's why you need to read this issue. The story isn't great, but Kraven's wardrobe is LIT.

The return of The Chameon (#1) is paired with Kraven, the Hunter, who is a bigtime hunter from Africa. He is brought here to hunt Spider-Man. The Chameleon teams with him and dresses as Kraven to further throw off Spider-Man.
In the first tussle, Kraven poisons Spider-Man so that he is shaky. Then we find out Kraven has made a deal with J. Jonah.
The battle takes place in a public park at night. Spider-Man kills the electricity, negating Kraven's advantage. They battle, Spider-Man wins.
But there's big time jealousy going on. Liz is hot for Peter. Betty is hot for Peter. Peter likes Betty, but has a blind date with Aunt May's neighbor's neice. Of course, I was convinced that was going to be Betty. Hey, if they were progressive, it could be a threesome, but I suppose that isn't happening in 1964. When did Crosby write "Triad"? ;)
The letters are as good as ever. I have decided to pick up Daredevil now too.
Oh, I should have mentioned this earlier, but Stan uses 'single-handed' instead of 'single-handedly' in almost ever instance. Only once, an issue or two ago the correct form was used. Up until then I chalked it up as ignorance. It obviously isn't, so what gives? Otherwise, I find the language very good.

Chameleon sudah bebas dari penjara sehingga ia ingin membalaskan dendamnya kepada Spider-Man. Ia tidak sendirian karena ada Kraven the Hunter yang akan membantunya. Kraven mendapatkan kekuatannya dari ramuan yang ia dapatkan dari Afrika. Awalnya, Kraven disambut dengan meriah ketika baru datang di Amerika Serikat, J. Jonah Jameson dan Peter Parker turut hadir untuk mendapatkan foto-fotonya. Tapi alangkah terkejutnya Peter ketika Kraven berkata bahwa ia ingin menghajar Spider-Man, padahal Spider-Man tidak memiliki masalah terhadapnya.
Beberapa hari kemudian ketika Kraven ingin mengetes kekuatan Spider-Man, ia memancing kehadiran Spider-Man dengan para pencuri yang sedang beraksi. Kraven the Hunter bukan penjahat favorit saya. Munculnya kembali Chameleon juga tidak berkontribusi banyak dalam cerita. Pertarungan antara Kraven dan Spider-Man sepertinya jadi pertarungan terpanjang dalam cerita komik ini dibandingkan dengan tokoh-tokoh lainnya. Tunggu ... ada nama Watson di sebut-sebut pertama kali dalam komik ini. Mungkinkah dia Mary Jane?

Kraven is a pretty solid foe but like the others starts off pretty pathetic LOL! He cheated to get away at the beginning and for the Kraven I’ve come to know that just feels wrong but this is his first appearance so everyone starts somewhere. I’m getting tired of Peter just blowing off Betty just because “something comes up”.

Probably the best spider-man issue so far. Kraven is probably my favorite villain now, but i do feel some obligation to the Lizard. Also love the small reference to Mrs. Watson

Kraven’s debut, AND hinting at Mary Jane making 3 different women begging Peter for the time of day and him being unable to figure out any of them. Perfect Spider-Man tbh
