The School Living Club is going on its first field trip! Yay! (That is, with Megu-nee's permission, of course...) What will they do on their excursion? The usual shopping, sightseeing...maybe rescuing another survivor from a horde of ravenous zombies. NBD.
I decided to partially re-read this manga (probably until the graduation part), I am currently also re-watching the anime. It is just the perfect time for it, with Halloween right around the corner!
The manga starts with a new character making an appearance, Miki, a silent girl who has lost a lot, has been living in fear for a while now, all alone.
Miki isn't really my favourite character, mostly because she is so silent/shy, but I do love reading about her backstory. Whereas our 3 other girls were in a school during the time it was letting out (though there were still enough people around due to clubs), Miki was stuck in a busy mall. I think those of us who have read zombie books know how bad it is to be in a mall during the apocalypse. Miki wasn't alone all that time, she was with her best friend, until.. well you will have to read to find out what happens.
Thankfully for Miki, our trio is on their way with a field trip (yep, field trip, as Yuki is still not all in the right state of mind, though she is slowly starting to see what is truly happening and what happened that she suppressed).
It was really great to read, though of course I did think it was a bit stupid of the girls to go to a mall. Again, that is just the worst idea ever. :P But I was also happy as it brought them outside and we could see a bit of the world around them. We saw them stop at Kurumi's home (and see what happened there), we see the destruction, we see zombies.
And then the mall and all the destruction there. I did have a laugh at them just going on a shopping trip. Checking for music, books, trying out clothes, just your fun outing, only now with zombies. :P
As with the first time I read it I was really excited when the ending of the trip came closer. I knew what would happen, but it didn't prevent me from cheering, shouting, hoping, praying for a good outcome.
We already see parts of what happened to Miki and her best friend, but we see even more when Kurumi reads Miki's diary in the last chapter of this volume (yes, not really the best thing to do, but it is kind of an emergency). Man, some people are idiots. You get bitten, you know what it means, and you still endanger so many people around you. Bleh.
All in all, this is one book full of zombies, shopping, new friendship, and much much more.

A school club, a promising idea, and the zombie apocalypse. In this volume, the School Living club goes on their first field trip off school grounds together. We also get some background on a new character, Miki, who has been living in the zombie-infested mall.
As with the first volume, there are plenty of flashbacks to fill in the gaps about the zombie outbreak. It was interesting to see how things played out beyond the school.
Nice illustrations. Some fan service throughout, but I do enjoy the humor.
Definitely all-in on this universe. After reading the first volume, I watched the anime, the live-action movie adaptation, and the live-action spin-off show. It's been interesting to see how they all differ.
My friend likes this manga a lot, so I gave it a second chance. Still has some unnecessary fan service, but the main characters are pretty cute, and there are a few touching and poignant moments. I keep wondering why only high school girls survived, though. (I think it’s because he author likes drawing high school girls.)
That said, the story so far is still pretty much standard zombie fare with cute moe high school stuff mixed in. It’s alright.
Wow, I think this story is getting pretty interesting. In this volume, they go on a field trip to a department store I believe. The group finds another girl who survived the zombie apocalypse! I wonder what the next volume is going to be about... I still want to find out why Yuki can't see the zombies as actual zombies. I'm borrowing a few manga series from a friend and she told me that in the third volume, I get to find out why Yuki does that. I can't wait to know!
Four words: Where. Is. The. Dog? I wanna see Taroumaru!! Come onnnn.
Okay now that that’s out of the way, another solid School-Live! manga installment. Miki has been rescued, and we got more detailed backstory for her and Kei when they were trapped in the mall. Same annoying bits of fanservice but nothing too bad. Looking forward to volume 3:)

The three members of the School Living Club make a field trip and find another survivor.
This is interesting enough to keep me reading. If you're looking for good art of zombies, though, this one is sadly lacking - they're shown mostly as black images with a few outlines. This is a 'let's keep our spirits up even though there's a zombie apocalypse!' story.
Super intense volume, over the entire course of a single "field trip". I found myself at the edge of my seat, worrying about the girls. I am sure that was the intention, and boy, does the manga succeed in making me feel things. So good.
I really liked seeing the field trip adventure in this! The backstory for why there are so few survivors in the mall was horrifying and the field trip plotline definitely helped lighten that a bit.

Bastante diferente del anime, me gusta pero siento que habría estado muchísimo mejor de haber seguido el camino del anime en algunas cosas perooo, es de aquí que ha salido el anime así que
Great art on this story. I am a big fan of the anime and am excitedly reading the manga. Not much different than the anime, so far. Watch as the School Living Club goes on a field trip to the mall (with zombies). What happens when they discover they are the only ones there (besides the zombies)? Cute and spooky at the same time!
