Spider-Man has been captured by the Green Goblin and is at the mercy of the mob! Plus, the final confrontation with the Crime-Master! Will he reveal the Green Goblin's identity?
Stan Lee (born Stanley Martin Lieber) was an American writer, editor, creator of comic book superheroes, and the former president and chairman of Marvel Comics.
With several artist co-creators, most notably Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, he co-created Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, Thor as a superhero, the X-Men, Iron Man, the Hulk, Daredevil, the Silver Surfer, Dr. Strange, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Scarlet Witch, The Inhumans, and many other characters, introducing complex, naturalistic characters and a thoroughly shared universe into superhero comic books. He subsequently led the expansion of Marvel Comics from a small division of a publishing house to a large multimedia corporation.
The way Black people are drawn here is so uncomfortable. I know it was the 60s but damn. Couldn’t even find it in them to make the hair a different color than the face. Or do anything other than take a white guy and color him in gray (literally all the white side/filler characters look the same and have the same hair) At least we made progress there over the years.
The conclusion to the whole Goblin/Crime Master thing and even though we have to wait to see who the GG is..Crime Master is revealed! Spideys costume problems continue now his discount costume store outfit is shrinking! Spidey exposed..well a little!
I liked this continuation of the story that had Spider-Man caught between two criminals battling to be the new head honcho in the city. There's plenty of action, standard Peter Parker problems, and a good little continuation of the mystery surrounding Frederick Foswell.
Love the way the plot zigs when you expect it to zag. Love all the little teases thrown in for future stories. Love everything about the Crime Master reveal and his demise. This series is just so good, so early in its run.

The best part of this comic is Spider-Man’s ongoing battle with his true arch-nemesis: sewing.
This issue has a nostalgic feel to it that reminds me why I like Spider-Man as a superhero. Previous issues have given me great Peter Parker moments, (not to forget classic Spider-Man moments, too) but this one has the Wall-Crawler fighting henchmen while tied up, bursting out of chains, and crawling through sewers to follow bad guys. Spidey also turns out to be completely incorrect in his bold assumption that Frederick Foswell is the Crime Master, which adds an unexpected twist that plays around with expectations.
There’s just something about it that reminds me of being a kid watching Spider-Man cartoons and reminds me why I dressed up as the web-head for Halloween. Did I mention that he hates sewing? Role model.
Just as Crime Master is about to complete his take over of crime syndicate The Green Goblin busts in with a unconscious Spider-Man so naturally everyone claims allegiance to Gobby. Spidey wakes just as he's about to be de-masked and the Police storm in. Later the Crime Master is shot by the Police and revealed to be... Well no one we knew actually..
The opening page for ASM #27 now reflects that we're now into the period where Stan and Steve's relationship had broken down so Ditko was left mostly alone which explains the "plotted and drawn by" Steve Ditko credit. The opening page is also infamous for its suggestive depiction that Goblin is ready to do something to Spidey's behind.
Poorly aged lines #329: "I feel like Steve Reeves in one of those Italian costume movies" - Spider-Man
Kisahnya adalah lanjutan dari volume 26. Spider-Man berhasil ditangkap Goblin dkk. Namun, ketika mereka ingin membuka topeng Spider-Man supaya mengetahui sosok sebenarnya, ternyata ia hanya berpura-pura pingsan sehingga langsung melawan mereka.
The plot twist I never saw coming! Was not expecting to be so easily tricked in this comic. Well done, Stan. I'm impressed 👏🏻👏🏻 However, this comic did feel like there was a lack of plot, but it wasn't too off putting

Steve Ditko really outdid himself here. The entire scene with Spider-Man and the chains, as well as the chase through the sewer pipes, are probably some of the coolest and most timeless-feeling drawings of Spider-Man in the first 27 issues of the Amazing series.
I think the quote that blows all of this out of the water is as follows: "Isn't there just a little of Peter Parker in all of us?" And ain't that the truth?
