Tamed by the Outlaw by Michelle Sharp is a 2015 Entangled Publication. I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This may be a short story, but it made my day! This is a steamy contemporary romance, with just the right balance of sweetness and spice, which is all good! However, this one really appealed to me because it pays homage to the romance genre, pointing out the constant battle those in the romance community fight on a daily basis, contending with all those naysayers out there. It also spotlights the incredible fun readers have at conventions, how loyal fans are, and the power love can have, even over the most jaded among us.

The story centers around Jessie Jameson, a 'rock star' of romance authors, who had a one night stand with the CEO of her publishing firm, Grayson Reynolds, a year ago at the same romance convention she is attending this year in Las Vegas.

He lied to her about his true identity, then tip toed out of her room before she woke up , never to be seen or heard from again.

Much to her chagrin, Grayson “Ivy League” Reynolds is in attendance this year too. If that weren't bad enough, he's made it a point to join in on her promotional rounds.

“From now on, she was incommunicado with Ivy League. At least verbally. She did, however, have one more thing to say. But, she used her middle finger to do it.”

In a year's time Grayson has taken over the day to day operations of the publishing firm, from his grandfather who is in ill health. Grayson has big plans and wants to move the firm in a new direction, which means he is considering axing the romance line, which would mean cutting loose his star author- Jessie Jameson. He is certainly not looking forward to the face to face conversation he will have to have with Jessie about his plans or her reaction to being sold to a new publisher. But, he never dreamed the sparks that would ignite once he set eyes on her again.

This story really was a fun read, with dialogue that certainly does mimic the arguments people have about romance novels.

“It pisses me off when people dismiss the romance genre as frivolous when love and relationships are the most basic, important thing in every person's life.”

Grayson is sexy, driven, smart, and really does try to be honest and up front, however, when it comes to business, he's pretty brutal, but it's his opinion and skepticism of love and happy ever afters, that not only made me want to slug him, it made me want to prove him wrong, because as it stands, it looks like he's headed towards a sad, empty, lonely life... how sad is that?

I loved Jessie and I think most of you will too. She's sassy and strong, funny, and smart, can take as good as she gets, and I think she would she would be a lot of fun to hang out with. I can see us knocking back a few in Vegas while checking out all the romance cover models at the convention.

So, the burning question... Can Jessie prove to Grayson what romance, love, and relationships are all about? Can she get him to open mind and his heart? Take a chance? Live a little? Well, if love has has any say in the matter, Grayson doesn't stand a fighting chance.

Oh.. I almost forgot- one word of caution - Do NOT get on the wrong side of a writer … you may find yourself a character in their next book....

This story could give all those non-believers out there something to think about.

Romance writer Jessie James is known as the outlaw. She is a top selling romance writer for her publisher. 6 months ago, Grayson took over his family's publishing company. One year ago, he had a one night stand in Vegas at a writers convention with the outlaw. He didn't tell her his real name and now he's her boss. After a misunderstanding, both Jessie and Grayson don't like each other but can't fight their attraction to each other.

I enjoyed the idea behind this story and this author's writing. It was fast paced and fun. Grayson and Jessie kind of had an enemies to more type story which is one of my favorite kind of romance. I enjoyed this book but I wasn't crazy about Grayson. It's more of my personal preferences but I just couldn't connect with his character. This was a light, easy, sexy read.

Jessie Jameson is the Bad Girl of romance and hugely popular. Six months ago Grayson Reynolds took over the CEO position for the family-owned publishing company who held Jessie's contract. One year ago, at a book convention, Jessie and Grayson had the best night of their lives together but she wakes alone, he left her...or so she thinks. He also used a fake name, with Jessie only learning his true identity when his new CEO position was announced in the newspaper. She has been troubled since he left her that morning and taken a lot of risks to try and find something to take the place of the memories they shared. She had never connected with another human being like she did Grayson and she was so sad that he never contacted her especially since his company represented her. They connected, got under each others skin and thought of each other over the long year since they were together. But there is a major misconception...they both believe the other left them and Grayson's pride and ego won't allow him to reach out to her.

This book is about the road to finding out the truth about what happened in Vegas that morning and Grayson's refusal to give a relationship a chance even though he wants it badly.

It was a short read and easy to complete in one sitting. It is not one I intend to read again.

Tamed By The Outlaw was such a good read.

I loved this book, it had great characters and a storyline that was entertaining from start to finish.
The chemistry between Jessie and Grayson was off the charts, it was hot and very believable.

Overall Tamed By The Outlaw was an emotional, sweet and heartfelt read. I was left feeling very happy Jessie and Grayson could work through their issues and follow their hearts.
I highly recommend this book.

I received an eARC of the book via Entangled Publishing through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book is a full of assumptions, and fuck ups.

When the one night stand blows up more than their minds, Jessie James "The Outlaw" and Grayson Reynolds end up hating each other - not because they didn't have a good time, they did but because a case of misunderstanding ends up with them with enough sour grapes to have them avoid each other, which is a big thing considering that Jessie is the Bad Girl Romance Author for Grayson's publishing company.

Now after a year of ignoring each other, now Grayson has to make good with Jessie for a business proposal :D

This was a funny book, Jessie and Grayson's interactions are full of sass and enough chemistry that I had a feeling that if I was reading the paperback edition? The pages would be smoking :D

But I did want to shake both of them, because they got the basic thing in relationship wrong - they didn't communicate. AT ALL! But I have a feeling, that was what the author intended :D

This book was short, but it was perfect. And it makes me want to read the of the What Happens in Vegas Series :D

Tamed by the Outlaw begins when Jessie Jameson is at a signing, and the one man she never wanted to see again shows up. Her Boss! He's the CEO of the publishing company and he's also the man she believes walked out on her a year ago.

Grayson is dead set on making some changes in his company, and a major change involves Jessie. He remembers every minuet of their encounter a year ago. But there are still a few things that bother him about things were left. He wants to move past this, and part ways with Jessie in a civil manner. But he never expected what he got when the time came to talk to her again.

Tamed by the Outlaw starts off extremely funny! I really enjoyed most of the plot line, and I overall thought the whole book was good. I also really enjoyed Jessie's character a lot. She wasn't afraid to admit what she was feeling, and that just endeared her to me.
I liked Grayson as well, even though sometimes I thought he was a major jerk. He made up for it in the end.

The only downside to the story was towards the middle it just kept repeating in some ways, and that got a little frustrating. Other than that I really enjoyed it a whole lot. It had a great romance, funny times, and thoroughly entertaining.

This was a fun and sexy story about a female erotic romance writer and the inspiration for her hero - the one night stand she had with a stranger who turned out to be the head of her publishing company. A misunderstanding resulted in a year apart, but neither has forgotten how good things were between them. Is it too late to restart the passion between them?

I loved how this story took a slice of real life - a romance convention complete with sexy cover models and author signings and used it as the backdrop for a romance between Jessie as the now famous author (something all romance writers aspire to be I'm sure!) and Grayson, head of her publishing company. It's like a behind the scenes look at the publishing world, the realities of contracts and the business of writing mixed in with a sexy story. I appreciated that the truth of what happened between them was resolved in the first third of the story and didn't hang on until the end. They still had the same problems to deal with that would have resulted in a non-relationship from the start, but now they have the chance to fix those things if they want to be together long term. The sexual attraction between them led to some steamy scenes and I liked both characters and the honesty between them. It was a quick and fun read. 4 stars.

Leave it to Grayson to always point out the obvious, "he motioned toward her breasts. “And the bra… thing… is gone too.” He swallowed down the second drink and turned away from her. “Maybe you should put some clothes on . Because even when you’re dressed, I can’t always concentrate. But now, I can’t really even remember why I’m here—” I liked this book Jessie is her own woman and doesn't mind stating what she believes in and Grayson and her are perfect for each other.

I thought this one sounded hilarious and promised some sparks and sizzle. And when you're right, you're right! Right from the start, this book offered snark, misunderstandings galore, sexual tension, and a pair of true opposites between a workaholic CEO and a wild erotic romance writer. Or are they that different after all? I ended up having a moderately good time with this one for a lighter, sexy read.

This is part of a series that is one of those that can be read out of order or standalone. The What Happens in Vegas series is written by multiple authors and only shares the tie of same setting so mixing and matching is perfectly fine.

Jessie Jameson is known as Jessie James the Outlaw of Romance and is a top best selling erotic romance writer. She is popular with the fans and enjoys interacting with them at the Vegas Romance Convention. It has been a year since she was at this same convention and that ended in a disastrous one night stand that left her bruised. And wouldn't you know it the very jerk who gave her a false name and skipped out on her the next morning before turning out to be the CEO of her publishing company shows up at the Rom Con.

Grayson Reynolds is there for one reason and one reason only. He plans to sell off the romance line for his publishing company. The deal is good, but the other company will only agree if Jessie James signs with them. He has been avoiding the woman who slept with him and then skipped out for over a year, but now he has to deal with her and their past. He is confused by her attitude toward him with their first encounter.

After several missed opportunities, they finally hash things out. But then the former attraction flares hot again. Grayson has the dilemma of his need to get Jessie to agree to the deal and before he complicates it by taking her to his room. Jessie can't figure out Grayson's hot and cold behavior and she certainly doesn't understand his cold, cynical attitude toward romance real or fictitious. But when it all comes down to it, will Grayson put business first and can Jessie forgive him if he does?

This is a light-weight story and got a bit loose in the plot at times. The story opens up with a bang-up beginning that really grabbed my attention both with the characters and my curiosity about what really happened that night the year before. The story gave some genuinely tough barriers in that Grayson was a workaholic who didn't believe in romantic love while Jessie believes in a balance of work and life and very much believes in love. There was also that heated discussion about romance being an inferior genre which is always a good way to get a reader's dander up at the one holding that view. ;)

Now, while I didn't expect a lot of development because its a novella and the sexual fireworks were par for the course, I found it distracting and, apparently, so did the couple. They couldn't even have simple, needed conversations without wanting to jump each other and doing so. I couldn't shift gears with this pair and needed a bit more convincing when this wrapped up with a big red bow.

But that said, I expected, light, fun, and lots of sizzle and it definitely delivered on that. I would like to read more of the series because the other stories look promising, too. And its good to know that they can be picked up any order. So, if you're looking for a quick, hot, opposites attract romance, give this one a try.

My thanks to Barclay Publicity for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

My Thoughts:

LOVED THIS! It's my favorite What Happens In Vegas story so far. A story about a romance author and one of the guys who inspired scenes in her books? Um, yes, sign me up, please and thank you. Jessie and Grayson shared a night together which ended in both of them thinking the other left without saying goodbye. They didn't know at the time that she was working for his publishing company and they'd be running into each other from time to time. After discovering the miscommunication from their one night, they find themselves tempted yet again. It's not the greatest of ideas considering they are in a business relationship, but like that could stop them. Their passion is insanely wild and full of chemistry. But Grayson is keeping a huge secret from Jessie, one that could potentially ruin what is starting to blossom between them.

Tamed by the Outlaw brought the heat and the warmth! I loved the banter and the sexy and the heart--the book just had it all! It made me believe in the second chances, believe in taking chances, believe in love. Jessie and Grayson were just astounding together, and it was clear from the start that they felt something despite the anger. Their night meant something, something grand that they had another chance at. Michelle Sharp is going to get more reads from me!

My Rating: Very Good

A cute fast read that will leave you grinning.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this story but after reading it I really ended up enjoying it. The idea of an author and a CEO of the publishing company was intriguing and I really liked the journey the author took me on.

So Jessie and Grayson had a one night stand a year ago at a conference but both of them have this miscommunication between them. Grayson things she left him the morning after while Jessie thinks it was him. After ignoring one another and too much pride. These two finally talk it out at the same conference they met at a year before.

I think these two had an I can't keep my hands off you chemistry and I'm not sure if I even saw them falling in love. I am only saying this because in the matter of a couple days they get together again for some really great sex then it's all business. I didn't see a lot of romance until the jumping out of the plane and declaring what Grayson wanted.

This story was a little shorter then what I would usually read but I was interested and invested in these characters so much. I just wish there story was maybe more drawn out. I would have also liked to see how both their year was when they weren't speaking and avoiding one another.

Overall I though the book was cute and I loved how Jessie's character was. I think she made the book for me. If you are looking for a cute read this is the book for you.

Loved this fun romp in the world of romance publishing. It is a sexy, love story that has the ups & downs of a true romance novel but doesn't drag it out like some books do & I really liked that. Once the main character figures out its Jessie he wants he goes for her & the rest is history. I loved the back story of the romance conference too, any fan of the genre has followed authors as the travel to their conferences so that was fun to read about. I will be reading more by Michelle Sharp in the future. Perfect length to read at an afternoon at the beach.

A light fun sexy read that will give you a great afternoon of enjoyment! A year ago Grayson and Jessie spent an amazing night together. The morning after didn't go quite as well as either expected. She woke up alone. He came back to an empty hotel room. Never have they spoken about that night. Now he's running her publishing house and she needs to deal with him. At least for the conference weekend!! With the sparks flying between them, they know a showdown is inevitable but who will come out the other side??

I definitely recommend this one.

REVIEW:  TAMED BY THE OUTLAW BY MICHELLE SHARP

Tamed By The Outlaw by Michelle SharpMy rating: 5 of 5 starsAnother winner in What Happens in Vegas Series. Tamed by the Outlaw is Jessie and Grayson story. Jessie was introduced in Masquerading with the CEO. When one of the central characters goes by the moniker "the outlaw of romance" and has a name like Jessie James there's nowhere to go but sexy. Ms. Sharp took an awkward situation and turned it into an enchanting, sensual read. Jessie exuded a devil may care attitude to the outside world but was a true romantic at heart. Grayson was the one person that could throw her off course. Enjoyed this story so much I will be visiting these characters again. Can't wait for the next book in this awesome series. First Impression: Well-written, with a modern-age heroine romance readers can empathize and root for.
Jessica Jameson, a.k.a. Jessie James, is the outlaw of the publishing world. She has a number one New York Times bestselling book out right now, but behind the scenes, she’s forced to spend time with her ex-one night stand, Grayson Reynolds, who also happens to be the new CEO of her current publishing house. But Grayson wants to sell the romance division to another publishing company and he needs Jessie to agree to sign with the new company, not an easy feat given the animosity she holds for him.

Tamed by the Outlaw was a really fun read. I enjoyed the characters and loved returning to the Vegas romance convention setting. It’s such a great series. Each story I’ve read in this continuity has been such an enjoyable read, and this one is no different. I loved the author’s writing style, and how quickly she pulled me into the story and into Jessie’s world. Into Jessie’s problems.

I especially loved the dynamic between Jessie and Grayson. It’s obvious from the second they are together on the page that they have some serious unfinished business between them, and lots of good old-fashioned, sparks-flying, chemistry. I loved that while they shared one night together, in which she had no idea who he really was, they’ve since switched to a sort of boss/employ, enemies to lovers dynamic. Which is one of my all time favorite themes to read.

Grayson Reynolds is a smart, crafty hero, but since he’s working with the wrong mindset, his craftiness gets him into trouble. As does Jessie’s. This was something I really loved about this book. Both characters were working with the wrong impression of each other, and sometimes the right impression with the wrong reasoning, and it made their decisions, based more in emotion than sound business sense, that much more troublesome for them. Which in turn made the book that much more fun and enjoyable for me as reader.

If you love a good enemies to lovers, boss/employee, forbidden love romance story, Tamed by the Outlaw by Michelle Sharp is a book I’d recommend reading. It’s a fast-paced, well-written romance novella and a great addition to Entangled’s What Happens in Vegas continuity series.

***A gifted copy was provided by the publisher for my honest review****

Author Jessie Jameson is the Bad Girl of romance and she is recovering from a bad affair last year. She is trying to NEVER cross paths with the guy whom the one night stand happened with. BUT at this year’s romance panel where she is promoting her new book, that guy has shown up and guess what, he is the head of her publishing house- newly appointed CEO Grayson Reynolds. UH OH. Jessie has known for a few months who he is but every time she thinks about it , it sends pain thru her. Grayson Reynolds is at this event with Jessie for two reasons- one, for the promotion of her books but two, for a big plan involving Jessie that he is going to try and sweet talk her into .

The time they spent a year ago was a magical event- a wonderful evening but the morning after is the big conflict. Each has their own memories and it hurts them both. What happened was miscommunication and total avoidance by both parties. By the end of the weekend, this time they had a fantastic, steamy, sensual encounter that Jessie and Grayson enjoyed . What ended up happening was that each had their own views for what they could be to each other but Grayson’s big news/plans derailed their possible future together. Will they end up back together? Do they finally get it right a 3rd time?
I really enjoyed the vibe of this book. You see two people who met a year ago and connected so totally yet when the morning after comes; things didn’t seem to work out. “Could have, would have, should have” is definitely their motto here. The MC come off as real life people who have real problems and do not shy away from them. You hurt for them, with them and root for them. Jessie and Grayson are my favorite couple and their romantic scenes are so hot, it is panty melting. I loved Jessie’s agent, Lila-she is a hoot. I would have loved to have seen an epilogue knowing how they are doing down the road but even that did not take away from the story. I was entranced from the first page til the last. I cannot wait to see what else this author has to write for I will definitely read.

My rating: 5.0 stars *****

One year ago, romance author Jessie Jameson spent the hottest night of her life with a guy who turned out to be the CEO of her publishing company, a night that ended with him bailing on her without a word and has served as inspiration for her books. Now they are both back at the scene of the crime, as it were and Jessie is determine to keep her distanced from him this time around.

Grayson Reynolds has big plans for his publishing company and the romance division is in the way of achieving those plans. His deal to sell the division hinges on getting his star author to agree to her contract being sold to another publisher and Grayson is back in Vegas to secure her cooperation. The chemistry between them is something he does not plan for.

This was absolutely fun to read. The characters were really interesting and the story, while short was very enjoyable. Jessie is larger than life, strong, funny, smart and feisty and Grayson is driven and cold when in comes to business but quite a stick in the mud personally. I liked that while he is sexy and smart, in his personal life he is quite boring and getting involved with Jessie is what makes him learn to take chances. Grayson's disdain of the romance genre is a tongue in cheek case of art imitating life and an apt depiction of the opinions held by many about the genre.

TAMED BY THE OUTLAW is entertaining, sweet and sexy, with very great chemistry between the characters and very amusing dialogue. Ms. Sharp is a new author to me but I really enjoyed her writing and I look forward to more from her.

If you enjoy a quick, flirty, miscommunication/second chance romantic read featuring a strong, witty heroine and a reluctant but simply can’t resist her hero, you should check into Tamed by the Outlaw by Michelle Sharp. Grayson Reynolds recently took over his grandfather’s publishing firm. He is now bound and determined to cut all ties with the romance division by selling it off. The only thing standing in his way is best-selling romance author, Jessie James (Jessie Jameson). She may not be packing a gun, but she is like a weapon of mass destruction, as far as he is concerned. After thinking she walked out on him after their amazing brief time together, he hopes this will also finally cut him loose from his memories of her. He simply has to convince her to void her contract and agree to sign on with the other publisher. Jessie, thinking he did the same to her, isn’t so quick to trust him…about anything. After all, he lied about his name when they first met, and her publicist is suspicious of why he is even at the convention.

After the miscommunication is resolved and the attraction between them takes off like a runaway train, Jessie starts thinking about taking another chance on him. Grayson pretty much plays the role of “he wants her/he wants her not”, as he struggles with a misguided notion being CEO means he can’t be in a relationship. When Jessie finds out about Grayson’s business deal, things go awry, and he ends up having to fight to keep his girl.

I have to admit I found myself liking the heroine more than the hero. It bothered me he got off too easy for lying about his name. However, the great cast of secondary characters, laugh out loud humorous dialog, and flowing writing style more than made up for that blip on this reviewer’s radar. For only 114 pages, Ms. Sharp did a good job weaving an entertaining romantic tale. Here’s to hoping Jessie’s publicist gets her own story, as well.

I was given this book for my honest review

“You know. Some chick with crazy hair and spiked heels once told me romance was meeting the person you care enough about to sacrifice for.” His face sobered “After last night, I’m not at all sure what’s in the cards for me. But I think we need to have a serious talk. About everything. Business. Pleasure. All of it. But I’d like a shower and some food first. Grayson

Grayson-cute and sexy

Jessie-author, sassy, pretty

Grayson and Jessie’s journey reminded me of the first time one gets on a rollercoaster. Scared, frightened, antsy and over all euphoric. From sweating when one gets standing on line for this infamous ride to the first time knowing that soon we will be put in a position that we have never come across before. The dynamics of the appeal that it brought to us is now becoming the reality. The sitting locked in place to the start of the forward motion, the spiraling, the depths that we plunge, the rising above all of it to then be dropped and spiraled again is such a rush that are hearts become in awe of it all.

The sex between Jessie and Grayson is like grande biscuits when you open the package for the first time and put them on a baking sheet your heart beats a bit faster. Putting them in the oven to await if they will arise or fall in the oven is just breathtaking for some the first time this is done. When opening the oven it becomes our delight and the heat within the first bite is totally tantalizing. Yummy

The author did a wonderful job in showing a side of Grayson which at first read about him becomes worrisome but with Jessie to set the him straight he becomes stronger than he ever could think possible. The strength and the weaknesses between this couple is harmonizing. In the end though you will have to pick up this read to see if Jessie and Grayson make it to their forever and a day love.

Happy Reading

For some reason I have a bit of a thing for Vegas novels, no idea why. This is short, really a novella, and I had it on my Amazon wish list, when I saw it was suddenly free I jumped at the chance and I wasn't disappointed.

Jessie Jameson is an erotic romance writer nicknamed 'The Outlaw'. She is at a convention in Vegas when she finds out that her editor Lauren has gone into labour and has been substituted by the CEO of Reynolds & Reynolds Publishing, Grayson Reynolds. Grayson Reynolds is also the hot stud she had a one-night stand with at the same conference the previous year, an unforgettable night that was spoilt when he snuck out the following morning without a word. The humiliation was complete when she found out that her one-night stand lied about his name and is now her boss.

Grayson has stepped up to CEO after his grandfather has a heart-attack. Grayson wants to change Reynolds & Reynolds Publishing and his first step is to get rid of the romance division, he wants to focus on more intellectual authors and has agreed a deal to sell the division to a rival publisher - provided Jessie Jameson agrees to change publisher. The only fly in the ointment is that Jessie has an option in her contract which allows her to void the contract if there is a change of ownership.

Enough of the plot, this is everything that I want from a novella set in Vegas. There's sequins, a convention, OTT clothing, room swapping, gambling, unwise decisions, half-naked male models, room service, you name it, it's there (well apart from a drunken wedding). Both Jessie and Grayson feel that they are the injured party after their first meeting. Grayson totally intends to talk to Jessie about her contract but they keep getting distracted.

This was sexy, funny, heart-breaking and fast-paced. I really enjoyed it and I fully intend to look for more books by Michelle Sharp.

Jesse Jameson is a talented romance author who has become a master at writing chart topping love stories, but hasn't been fortunate enough to discover her own happily ever after yet. After a fleeting one night stand that ended badly, she has kind of given up hope in the love department, and focused more on her career. That is of course until she runs into the one man she hoped she never see again, Grayson Reynolds. Question is can she forgive him for walking out on her after their night together...

Grayson has recently been promoted to CEO of the publishing company that Jesse writes for, which is the one tiny detail he chose not to share with her when they had their little one night encounter. After she sneaks out of his room the next morning and leaves him without so much as a kiss good bye he is left a little confused and irritated. So, when he casually show up at a event she's attending, and announces to her that he is there to cover for her editor, she is livid, he of course sees it as a opportunity to tell her he's making big changes to the company and also find out why she left him high and dry a year ago. Can these two find a way to resolve their differences and discover their happy ending or will they let love slip right through their fingers...

This book left a very good first impression, it was a charming little story, filled with lots of spice and a little sass! The characters had amazing chemistry, and had me smiling and blushing the whole way through! Definitely one that should be added to everyone's reading lists,...Highly satisfying read!

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley from Entangled Publishing for an honest review. This was a quick and fun read. Jessie was a sassy heroine who is as hopeful about the love she writes about in her own books. I absolutely LOVED Jessie's agent, Lila. That woman does not mince words and totally has Jessie's back. Grayson was so out of his element at the romance writer's convention in Las Vegas. I loved the scene with the panel discussion where he realizes one her characters is based on him while he's on stage. I have mixed feelings about him even up until the end. His mixed messages (within a 24 hour period) gave me whiplash. Except for the last few pages, he was judgmental and condescending. Granted his bias was influenced from two misunderstandings - how his grandparents dealt with the death of his father and the first time he and Jessie met.

The most important take away from the story was how the romance industry is perceived. I get crap from friends and others all the time. I try to explain I read books for entertainment, an escape from the real world and a HEA. There's nothing wrong with mainstream fiction, but for a lot of them they can be so depressing I might as well have watched the nightly news. As the author writes "romance is meeting the person you care enough about to sacrifice for them." Ironically, the author Kristan Higgins wrote an article about this very topic that sums it up very articulately. link

3.5 stars!

Tamed by the Outlaw is book 6 in the series. I wasn’t aware that there was this many in the series. I did like this book I laughed at some of the things Jessie said and did. I loved how she was sarcastic and witty and just hilarious most of the time. I really enjoyed her character. And the same thing could be said about Grayson. I liked how they went head to head together. Their chemistry was off the charts.

I really liked how the author went into details about what Jessie wrote about. In the other book that I read in this series it only briefly mention anything about her books. In this book you know that Jessie wrote a book and the character’s name was Ian and he was based around Grayson. I really liked the details the author gives you.
Obviously you know Jessie is a big time author and she’s in Vegas for an author signing. Well a year ago Jessie and this guy had a one night stand and complication arise and well now the two hate each other. Well, it turns out that it was Grayson. He lied about his name.
And things get even more interesting because he becomes the CEO of the publishing house Jessie is published through.
Jessie’s editor can’t make it to Vegas this year, so Grayson takes her spot. Grayson came because he wants to sell the romance department of his publishing company and the only way the other publisher will buy it is if they get Jessie in the deal. And of course this causes some conflict between the two. Read to find out what happens….

So as you can see I did enjoy this cute love story. I honestly do wish that this would have been a full length novel.

Are you looking for a fun, light, very sexy read? Then stop your search and pick up a copy of Tamed By The Outlaw from new to me author Michelle Sharp. This story has a little bit of everything; romance, heat, drama, love and humor. In a nutshell, it is the total package. The carefree cover is just the beginning!

Jessie Jameson is a romance author that specializes in scorching hot love scenes. She is the Jesse James of the romance world and her legions of fans are completely devoted to her bad-ass writing talent. Grayson Reynolds is the newly appointed CEO of the publishing house that has Jessie under contract. They shared a scorching night together about a year ago, and due to miscommunication and purposeful avoidance afterward, their feelings never evolved. Now they are promoting Jessie's latest book together, which leads to another evening of amazing sex and the possibility of a relationship. However, Grayson's big plan for his company may derail any hope of a future together.

I truly enjoyed this book! I found Ms. Sharp's writing style to be lively and easy to read. The characters are well-developed, interesting and real. I felt the connection between Jessie and Grayson immediately, and cheered for them to work out their differences in order to become a couple. Lila Kent, Jessie's agent, is especially entertaining with her no-holds-barred personality and moxie. I can't wait for Ms. Sharp to write another book!

While this was a fairly quick read it was truly a great read. A little miscommunication sets you up for all sorts of fun romantic problems in Tamed by the Outlaw! Grayson Reynolds  is bound and determined to cut all ties with the romance division of his grandfather's publishing firm that he has recently taken over. Now he keeps saying that it has to do with wanting to be more serious, etc but I have a feeling it has more to do with how he feels about best-selling romance author, Jessie James (Jessie Jameson). She is the only thing standing in his way of accomplishing his goal and he needs her to void her contract.

The problem is they have a history together! One where they each thinks the other simply walked out after their amazing brief time together. Jessie isn't eager to trust Grayson either because he lied about who he was when they first met and her publicist is suspicious of why he is at the convention. Of course the attraction between them is HOT and once the miscommunication is resolved things get even hotter. Of course if things where only so easy! Things go even further awry and Grayson ends up having to fight to keep his girl.

What happens when you have a wonderful erotic night with a stranger that you meet in bar and wake up the next morning alone? What happens when you later discover that the man from that night is the CEO of the publishing house that you are contracted with and you then realize said man lied about who he was?

The result is a best selling novel that depicts your erotic night in detail down to the man who lied about who he was and left you alone in the middle of the night.

Jessie and Grayson meet up one year after their night together at a series of press releases for her latest novel after one of the publishers is unable to attend. The tension is immediately felt between them. It's only when the two finally talk do we realize until now we've only had one side of the story. What happens when you meet a beautiful woman in a bar, take her to a hotel room, have an incredible night together, return to the room and find her gone?

The connection between the characters were amazing! The author did a wonderful job developing each character; I felt for both of them, I could relate to what they were both feeling and going through.

The book is a quick read, easily finished in a few hours, but for this story it felt like an appropriate length.

"That’s what the romances are really about. Finding that one person you love enough to sacrifice for.”

Tamed by the Outlaw is short and sassy but heavy on the sexy. Nicknamed the Outlaw, romance writer Jessie Jameson is a take no prisoners kind of woman. She believes in taking risks and is willing to put her heart on the line for love. I loved Jessie. She gives as good as she gets and stuck to what she believes in.

Grayson Reynolds, CEO of Reynolds & Reynolds Publishing, is the opposite. He plays it safe choosing work over relationships. I liked Grayson but I wanted to knock him upside the head for being so obtuse. And a bit of a literary snob too.

Neither can forget their one night stand that happened a year ago. And neither is counting on the spark to still be there. Jessie and Grayson are hot together. You can feel the sparks flying off of them as you're reading. I really enjoyed the banter between them and the point of view of a signing through the author's eyes. I've been to several and I always wonder what they think of it all.

Overall, if you're looking for something light and fun, Tamed by the Outlaw is a pleasant afternoon read.

I really got a kick out of this one. It has been awhile since one has tickled my funny bone too. Jessie happens to have one of my favorite professions a romance writer and oh gotta love the sex scenes. One is even based on her one night encounter with none other than Grayson who later she finds out is at the head of the publishing business she writes for. When a author meet is done with him in the place of someone else that is when the fun begins in earnest. He sees also for himself just how crazy readers can be and where she got her nickname from. That attraction they have for one another though just gets stronger and the sparks will fly once again. Oh trouble is on his horizon though because even though he has different plans for the company he will have to make a decision that could very well turn the tables where love is concerned. This author delighted me with their banter and the scenes of them together. Oh man who was so full of himself though he does know how to listen when he has too and make the right decision. So relate able being I have been to a couple events and these were over the top. If not careful though they could of burned a few pages in their wake.

Review

This book was fun and flirty. If you enjoy a good book with a misunderstanding, an issue or two to over come and some secondary characters that are thoroughly enjoyable, then this book is for you.
The story line was too slow for me in some places, and way too quick in others, but the characters are great fun and the whole concept was well thought out, even if I did get a little bored over the ins and outs of a publishing empire.
All in all, I seemingly flew through this book and enjoyed it for the most part.

This was a fun, easy, quick read. There were plenty of sparks between Jessie and Grayson and the sex between them is very hot. I found these characters frustrating though, they really struggled with communication, especially Grayson. He’s supposed to be the CEO of a major publishing house and he can’t keep it in his pants long enough to have an important conversation with one of his authors? I get it, they’re strongly attracted to each other but they’re supposed to be grown ups. If she was feeling vindictive she could have really screwed him after what he did. Anyway it was just a little too much suspension of disbelief for me. I liked Jessie’s character a lot and I’m glad she got what she wanted in the end, but I still think Grayson was pretty much a tool. Like I said though the sex was hot and this is a quick easy read so it wasn’t a total loss. I received an ARC of this book from the publisher through Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.
