Shackles, blindfolds and ropes, oh my…she’s not in Kansas anymore.

Bored with the men in her life, actress Janie Monroe is looking for something different. On a whim, she decides to seduce her cameraman, a guy who comes off as a nerdy video gamer. After enticing him at a pin-up photo shoot, she learns that he does indeed like to play, but instead of a game console and controller, his toys are shackles, blindfolds and ropes. Janie soon finds herself immersed in a world of dark passions where her boundaries are challenged and pleasure beyond her wildest imagination is the prize.

I missed this book when it came out as I was in a Twitter (where I look for/find new releases), bookbuying and reading hiatus due to a very busy time at the day job.
When the 3rd book in the series came out it was labeled by the publisher as book 2 and because I really liked the first book I jumped on it. Early on in that book I noticed that Janie already had her HEA and I was confused. When? How? So I went to the author's website and discovered her story had already been told. And self-published. And it was the actual second book in the series.
I finished (what now turned out to be) the 3rd book. Bought this one and started it so I could appease my read-in-order OCD that had gone off-kilter because of this. I don't understand releasing books 1 and 3 with a publisher and self-pubbing book 2 but that's probably just me and my OCD.

This being said, I really liked this one even if I had a few issues with it. This time the pacing issues were at the end. It was set up really nice and I really got into the story of Janie and Kaden (and for a split-second Tate too) but the end was so sudden and rushed, I was left with ambivalent feelings.

I don't mind novellas but sometimes a longer page count does a story more justice. This definitely goes for the novellas in this series.
My thoughts about the pairing for the last friend's (Maria) story were kinda confirmed in this one so I'm looking forward to reading that story, despite my issues with the latest 2 novellas in this series.

Janie is tired of the same old men and needs to change things up so while out with her friends she decides she is going to seduce her camera man Kaden, when she made that decision she had no idea what she would be getting into. Janie is being stalked by a former maintenance crew member she is forced to take out a restraining order and change her phone number several times but that doesn't stop him from stalking after the beautiful actress. Needless to say that Janie doesn't exactly trust men and when she finds out that Kaden and his best friend Tate have shared everything and I mean everything, Janie knew she would be no different. Kaden and Tate introduce Janie to the BDSM lifestyle which is very different for her, she is normally the one in control so it scares her to become submissive to these two men.
This was a suspenseful read with tons of spice and a HFN ending. I wish the story was longer and I want to know more about Tate....I can only hope that their will be another book with him as the Hero.

I have read this as part of the Every Which Way anthology.

I did not finish this book. Haven't read anything else from this author yet, so maybe she's just not my type.
But how unbelievable can you accept a story to be. The girl's already been working weeks with this cameraman and all of a sudden she sees that he's hot and might be just what she needs. Her mother was abused by her father, but now all of a sudden she may want to be dominated and spanked. And .
