Toni, Sophie, and Kim, are the modern-day version of Robin Hood blended with the Three Musketeers. For the past eighteen months, they have been moving the assets of the rapacious bank executives to the more deserving coffers—at least in their minds—of the poor and middle class. When a mysterious woman keeps crossing paths with Toni, sparks fly. Is it a coincidence or all part of some greater master plan? Is she friend or foe? Add the Russian mob, the FBI, and an all-female covert organization and you have the perfect recipe for danger, intrigue, and even love. Does the trio join forces with the organization? Follow the twists and turns to the explosive conclusion. Not everything is black and white. There are many shades of gray and sometimes it’s difficult to decipher who is good and who is evil. No one is all virtue or all malevolence, but sometimes love helps us rise above.

#verygoodbook! took a chance with this author and came away from this book with a lot more knowledge of how women can fight hand to hand with men but still come out on top...was a joy to read about what every physical and intensive action that all the strong female characters had in this incredible story. Good hand to hand combat,ex-FBI & CIA,underground sex slave, great information on their organization that was well researched...also added to this plotline was the Russian mob who played a big part in the this storyline. The author did good in telling and writing one hell of a high energetic, entertaining, witty dialogues,fast-paced,with some well crafted love stories that included(Char & Toni) (Kim & Sophie) and in maybe (Dani & Candy)..with a twisted ending that leads to them continuing on fighting the fight...highly recommend
4.5⭐️ A fantastic start in this series. I love these badass musketeer women fighting evil. Every single woman in this secret organization has her special skills and together they are almost unbeatable. Let's go and hunt down these ruthless men.
There was much to enjoy about this read. Intrigue, romance and women taking care of business in and out of the bedroom. The take from and give to was suspenseful as well as refreshing. Three women with various skills or assets that have chosen to make a difference in a dangerous way. Toni is the cool techy person. Kim is the quiet master of disguise. Sophie is the cautious enforcer. Together they are a force to be reckoned with.
I loved the story line and the main and supporting characters. The women are adorably sexy and their emotions feel so real. I have laughed at all the bickering but when it comes down to it they are there for each other. For me it was a perfect all female organisation with strong women and each with her own specialty. They have to deal with danger, organised crime and a traitor. Love makes it a bit more complex but it fits perfectly in this story. Well done!
Grab your popcorn, folks. We’re off to the movies for a sexy female James Bond adventure. Imagine you’re sitting in the cinema, popcorn conveniently located so there’s no need to take your eyes off the screen. The movie is an action adventure James Bond-ish secret agent kind of thing, but with a team of female spy/assassin types, and for 120 minutes you suspend reality so entirely that you totally accept shoot-outs, shoot-ups, shoot-stuff, stuff blowing up, gadgets that can kill, maim, render anyone incapacitated, tools to unlock, relock, and possibly travel through time, hot women, sex, and all the while, you’re thinking, “Oh my God. This is freaking awesome.” So that’s what you get with Asset Management. PLUS romance. AND humour. Writers are literally smacked over the head if they use deus ex machina in their novels. How dare *smack* you insert a contrived *smack* way of solving an unsolvable problem! But! Comedy, particularly action comedy, generally gets away with it, and this is why Asset Management works. It does not take itself seriously. James Bond movies use a bit of deus ex machina to get him out of predicaments, and we don’t bat an eyelid. Sometimes Bond whips out a fancy new weapon - which we’ve never seen before in the entire film - and it saves the day. We just accept it because it’s James Bond. He has all the cool tools. And it’s the same in this novel. But wait! Here is a situation, which is tense and suddenly dangerous and look! I have a TR-6372 super thingy. However, if that type of writing device would irritate you to the point of distraction, then yes…that is a weakness of the book (or your sense of humour. Hard to tell) Toni and Char…oh yum. Then Kim and Sophie…more yum! The couples are hot individually and hot together and hot talking about each other. I’m surprised that Toni didn’t invent some type of small personal extinguisher. Read this novel for the pure reality-kidnapping experience that it is. If you liked Baldwin and Alexiou’s Lethal Affairs, then you’ll like this.
This is the third book by Ms. Mori I've read. And the third completely different style of writing employed, making it so delightful - showing the breadth of her abilities as a writer! The first chapter sets up a trio of women as operatives in an organization whose purpose is yet to be totally discovered. The beginning of the second chapter, however, one of the main characters, Toni, runs across a character she's interacted with in the first chapter, and gives her a 'wink'; such a *powerful* word used here, a word which sets off a cat and mouse game. A game you have absolutely no idea the magnitude of which at this point in the book. What a wonderful wordsmith Ms. Mori is! More than once you are led down the lilac path, believing you know you know what lies ahead, only to learn that you know absolutely nothing, and are about to be educated in a completely different set of circumstances. What makes this book perfect for me, is that Ms. Mori manages to weave in romances between more than one set of women, in different set of circumstances. I can't say more than that without giving away what you will have to read for yourself, but she does so exquisitely! And I do so adore loving romances, I freely admit. Once again, Annette, Well Done You!!!! Bravo!!! Another must read, no surprise here!
I was given this book by Ms. Mori in exchange for an honest review. In fact, I read it this morning, liked it, and so, gosh darn it, review time!
What happens when you have three bank workers who act like modern-day Robin Hoods, stealing from the rich and giving to the poor? You get Asset Management, along with a lot of wisecracks, intrigue, danger, and, well, not going to spoil things.
What I will say is that it features some very likeable leads as well as broadly painting the people in charge of the money--mainly men--as totally amoral scumbags in a rather humorous manner. There is always a danger when indulging in stereotypes no matter which side of the gender spectrum one falls on, but under Ms. Mori's more than capable fingers, the men come off as realistic scumbags, while the female leads and sidekicks, while not totally virtuous in terms of behaviour, come across as being far more likeable and this reader was on their side all the way.
I have read other works by Ms. Mori, but this remains her best work to date, in my opinion. I look forward to reading the sequel to see what will happen.
I have been putting off reading this til I had all in the series and I wish I had read it sooner. I loved this book. There is plenty of action to keep you turning the page. I loved the banter between Char and Toni. I am not sure whether I like Ronda or not. She is a little gung-ho for my liking but she does kick ass so she has that in her favour. Maggie, Dani, Kim & Sophie are all great. Viktor is a first class a-hole and deserves everything that is thrown at him. Great story lne, some excellent characters and the pace was just right.
Another brilliant book from Annette Mori. I was completely hooked by page two, and it only took me that long because I read so fast. I’ve already started on the next one. Great read!
I can't believe Annette. She had me cracking up with all the Sarcastic lines in this book. Toni and Sophie cracked me up all the time. And Ronda wanting to kill people and blow stuff up. I liked the storyline of how the took the money and helped people. Crosses my arms I was left with to many questions...I hope you are writing a sequel to this book. I do recommend this book.
What a hoot! This is the first book I've read by this author. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The premise was interesting as well as appealing. The idea of an organisation of women ridding the world of evil men is enticing. This book is everything I'm looking for in a story, pure escapism. It helps that it's also well written. I'll certainly be reading more from this author.
Loved Asset Management. What I love most about Miss Mori's writing is that she sucks you into the story in the first couple of chapters that you don't want to put it down. It was a fast paced intrigue story. She went into great detail about the background of all the characters. I found the subject very interesting and well written. An all girl kick ass organizing. Take that Mission Impossible.
I enjoyed reading this book. It had wonderful characters and the storyline was great. I am looking for to reading more from this author. I found it to be a smooth and entertaining read.
Awesome action adventure about avenging agents & attractive assassins
“Knowing that the recent reallocation of funds took a big bite out of the human slave trade coffers didn’t give her the kind of comfort she desperately needed to right the wrong of losing Natalie.” • ~ • ~ • ~ •
I was hesitant about reading this book but I'm glad I took the chance because 💯 I loved this story!!!!
The storyline was a uniquely different take on the typical girl-meets-girl narrative with characters that were easy to like, appreciate & relate.
The thought of an organization run by strong, amazing, brilliant women, checks off all the things I'd like to see in real life. Not that there are not some that have several of these elements but I enjoyed the trill of the adventures these very capable women did to bring down lives most vial humans and there corrupt businesses.
I have liked all the characters and there parings/love interested but think I'm looking forward to Dani's and Candy's relationship. There is something about Dani's character that draws me to her.
Looking forward to the next book and taking down another bad guy!
It may just be me, but this author's first book was hard for me to get into It might have been the vampires and shape shifters, but the point is I really enjoyed reading this book The story had a great plot line, interesting characters, and the storytelling was great. I had a hard time putting the story down, as I kept reading to see what was going to happen next.
I loved Asset Management the first time I read it. Not sure why I didn’t review it then. I just reread it so I could be prepared for The Thanksgiving Baby Caper, which I have been saving. Great read. I love a book where smart, capable women triumph over evil men.
A bunch of women who work like modern-day Robin Hoods stumble across an organization that's very interested in them. Disguises, Russian mob, intrigue, and more spy gadgets you can shake a stick at, it's all here, nicely interspersed with sweet and romantic moments. I enjoyed every minute.
Action, women in charge kicking as and taking no prisoners. What more can you ask for action, adventure, A little romance. Very enjoyable book. Thanks for a very good read.
Lots of great characters. It was definitely a page turner. Once I started reading I didn't stop till the end. Looking forward to the next one in the series.
Action, romance, and suspense. Can Heather (Char) convince Toni to join The Organization? Will they be able to take down Viktor? Or will they die trying?
Really liked this story. The writing was a bit rough at the beginning but it got better as the book moved along. Some parts of the story were too brief and others seemed to drag.
If you liked the Mission Impossible movies, I guess this is OK. And probably you have to be in the right mindset to enjoy it. I'm thinking I wasn't, so to me, it was kind of meh.
It's one of those books (or I was in a particular mindset) where I'm constantly questioning things. Sure, it's great to have invented some sort of HD camera that fits into a contact lens, with WiFi no less. And I'm wondering: how? And where did they get the equipment to manufacture such a device?
And then we get tranquilizer darts, fired from a pen, with a range of 400 yards. Awesome. And I'm thinking, has the author ever heard of ballistics?
I'll admit, I was overthinking this way too much, and it probably got in the way of me enjoying it. But some books can get away with it, and this one didn't.
