"How he got started in comics: In 1983, when Fraction was 7 years old and growing up in Kansas City, Mo., he became fascinated by the U.S. invasion of Grenada and created his own newspaper to explain the event. "I've always been story-driven, telling stories with pictures and words," he said.
Education and first job: Fraction never graduated from college. He stopped half a semester short of an art degree at Kansas City Art Institute in Missouri in 1998 to take a job as a Web designer and managing editor of a magazine about Internet culture.
"My mother was not happy about that," he said.
But that gig led Fraction and his co-workers to split off and launch MK12, a boutique graphic design and production firm in Kansas City that created the opening credits for the James Bond film "Quantum of Solace."
Big break: While writing and directing live-action shoots at MK12, Fraction spent his spare time writing comics and pitching his books each year to publishers at Comic-Con. Two books sold: "The Last of the Independents," published in 2003 by AiT/Planet Lar, and "Casanova," published in 2006 by Image Comics.
Fraction traveled extensively on commercial shoots. Then his wife got pregnant. So Fraction did what any rational man in his position would do -- he quit his job at MK12 to pursue his dream of becoming a full-time comic book writer.
Say what? "It was terrifying," said Fraction, who now lives in Portland, Ore. "I was married. We had a house. We had a baby coming. And I just quit my job."
Marvel hired Fraction in June 2006, thanks largely to the success of his other two comics. "I got very lucky," he half-joked. "If it hadn't worked out, I would have had to move back in with my parents.
OMG what a better issue. I felt like the last one kind of dragged and I'm really glad this one is back in the "swing" of things. I can't say, however, that this issue is filled with the great sex puns and nudity we have all come accustomed to with this series, but still a great issue. Jon's Doc is finally aware of something going on with Myrtle, Robert and Rach seem to be on the verge of a split, Suze and Kincaid are back on good terms, and Jon gets punched in the face. Not a dull issue. Can't wait to see where everything is going. I kind of feel as though this is starting to either ramp up or come to a very non-dramatic close. For the sake of the series I hope this is the start of ramping up! I'm having to many on my pull list drop off completely, ending or just plainly going POOF with no advance notice or explanation.

And the plot thickens. No wait...we're building to a climax. Frick! I'm not sure what to do with all of these bits hanging around. I'd like to touch on each and every one of them...
It's so hard to rate a story as it's pulling all of the pieces together for a grander scheme. But I love the characters. Literally.
I am proud of Suzie for telling Jon what she wants rather than break up with him again - now if she could address J's declaration of love. I don't care as much about Suzie's friend's relationship with Rainbow, but I have accepted that sex brings drama, so whatevs. I look forward to the next issue, in which I anticipate a battle royale with the Sex Police. 4.5
This was a little too Howard-y for me. This works better when it's a little less meta. I get this is a bit of a transition arc, but I feel like the characters just keep repeating the same emotional beats over and over recently, especially the secondary characters. Really going to reassess continuing with this after the next issue.
This series is getting too meta for me. It was funny 3 issues ago but it is getting old now. I love the characters and the story but I am getting annoyed with Matt and Chip.
