This really could have been better. Lots of things left out and altered from the movie. Nothing major but as a fan I found it a bit offensive. Conversations were half copied and half created, the race was made WAY too simplistic, even for children. To me, books like this should leave one wanting to see the movie. This one had me wanting to avoid it. Not too bad for a young child but not for fans. For a kid too impatient to watch the podrace scene, the can read the mini, less action-filled version.

Finally a well written summarization scaled down for the younger readers that doesnt butcher the storyline and captures The Phantom Menace pretty accurately. Well done and highly recommend for any new readers that are fans of the SW Universe.

A fun book for fans of the movies. This covers the story of the Phantom Menace from Anakin's point of view. My daughter enjoyed it a lot. Not for early readers.
