As usual this book was recommended by a friend, and I have to say that if she hadn't encouraged me to read them I may not have based on the description given. Now, that's not to say that the description isn't accurate, it just didn't sound all that great. I WAS WRONG! So, so good. In the past I can't say I've read a lot of castle and dragon stuff, but you add in the magic and all the variations of it and this was a full packed adventure! I read all 4 books in around 3 weeks. The first book was great, meeting everyone, learning what Sardonthian is made of. Warning: You will fall in love with Dorian. The second book was good too. The characters go through some changes, but I liked the development of them. The third book you meet Rowan. Really like this character, and the associated surroundings. Things really start getting dark in this book, as in really dark magic. May only complaint about the third book was suddenly every other word seemed to be cursing. And I can't say I liked the witches as first, but they grew on me. The forth one you will not be able to put down. There is so much maturity in the characters, and the witches you met in the last book are better in this one! Love Abroxas! - you'll see ;) All these things you didn't know realize start linking together, and so much is revealed! The great thing about this author is that she doesn't forget those clues she left you with in the other books! Like "rattle the stars" I believe is in book 2, and you find out what it means in the last book! The ending of books is what always concerns me. I hate a deflated ending. This book delivers though! Although it ties up and finishes some things, there is still more to be done! Thankfully it isn't a painful cliff hanger! Really looking forward to the rumored books 5 and 6! Read this adventure!
