The plot of the books is okay. They move slowly at times, but for me first reading them at 10yrs old I thought they were pretty good. XD

I wouldn't necessarily recommend them now, but hey I mean, if you've read em we can bond over em, lol

This is definitely a boxed set of keepers, an epic adventure of the best kind that yield many hours of joy on each re-reading. After so the last re-reading, I thought it fitting for me to pen down and collect past and present impressions here.

The Iron King is an excellent debut to what promises to be an epic fantasy under the masterful story telling skills of Julie Kagawa. The series just grows on you. Love the "Romeo and Juliet" romance angle, albeit the ending is less tragic but the path to love is just as tumultuous and dangerous. The coming of age trials and the friends on a quest ... All the subplots and twists come together to make this a compelling and really addictive series.

Of all the books, The Iron Queen is the best of the series, IMO. Uplifting with the values of love, hope, selflessness, loyalty, faith and stubborn determination for the greater good, Meghan lived up to expectations and beyond. Ash didn't disappoint too. Exciting to the very last verse and heart melting in many parts.

The Iron Knight is Ash's journey to find his soul and was no less heart wrenching in the emotional tumult he underwent to finches way back to Meghan and the future they deserve.
